The swiss tech Utilikey is a key shaped tool that comes in handy. From afar this tool will blend in on a key chain along with other keys, but upon closer inspection it will stand out.
The tools included are a serrated blade, straight blade, phillips head screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, micro flathead screwdriver and a bottle opener.
The tools each work very well and the utilikey has a very good build quality. The knife edges can hinder the use of the other tools, this does not make the tool unusable in any way, it just means you need to make sure your fingers are positioned away from the knife edge. So far I have not cut myself with this tool.
The utilikey comes in a very nice metal box and comes with a lifetime warranty. The tool is defiantly not designed to be used for heavy duty operation but is a very handy tool that can be attached to your keys.
Theres not much to say about this usb, it does what all the others do but what it does, it does well.
This usb is very small (In a good way), it is also very light meaning it is barely noticeable in a pocket.
To help keep the size of this usb small it is made with a flick out connector so it requires no lids or caps.
The Mini Voyager is supplied with a clip on string holder thingy, that can be clipped onto lanyards, mobile phones etc.
The main selling points of this usb for me was the price and its ruggedness, for £15 pounds I don't think you can get better. The usb is very rugged thanks to its rubber coating, making it able to survive drops onto hard surfaces, I know this from personal experiences, I have not tested the splash proof claims of this device but I think it would live up to them.
When buying a set of speakers it can be hard to find ones that fit all devices.
Normally 5.1 surround sound speakers need 3x 3.5mm (earphone inputs) inputs, ipods and mobile phones only have 1x 3.5mm inputs.
So normally only 2 of the 5 speakers work with ipods, but thanks to logitechs "matrix mode" you can use one 3.5 input to connect all 5 speakers!
I bought these speakers for my laptop, and as you may know laptops do not possess the 3 outputs needed only the one, this means that these are the only 5.1 surround sound sets that works with laptops.
If you have a computer with the 3 outputs then you can turn off matrix mode and use all 3 connectors to get the best possible quality.
The sound quality of these speakers is great, the bass can be turned up very high, as can the volume. Be warned when turned up full these speakers will annoy the neighbors!!
Most mini speakers on the market are pretty rubbish, but not tis one!
The speaker twists and pops up to create a vacuum effect inside, this gives the speaker some bass, something that other mini speakers lack. The sound that this speaker produces is great.
The manufacturers claim that this speaker has 11 hours of playback time, so far I have not needed to charge mine.
On the bottom of the speaker there is a built in 3.5mm audio in cable, this allows the speaker to connect to devices without you having to take a cable with you.
Another feature with these speakers is the "buddy jack", this means that you can connect many x-minis together for a greater sound. They all connect through a 3.5mm audio out port on the speaker, and again this does not require any extra cables.
The x-mini II produces a sound that is both louder and clearer than most mobile phone and laptop speakers.
A MUST for music fans.
Nokia's 3rd device in its internet tablet range. The nokia N810 is featured with a qwerty keyboard, bluetooth, a touchscreen, wifi, a webcam, GPS, and a mini SD card reader.
The N810s screen has a high resolution of 800 x 480, this gives the device very sharp picture quality, the N810s screen size is 4.13" this is extremely big for portable devices. The N810 itself is very slim and lightweight making it perfect for carrying around.
The N810 is not perfect though as you may need to find a few work arounds to get it to its full potential. Luckily the N810 runs on Maemo, which has an extremely helpful community that can be found at www.maemo.org, the online community often have help on how to get the best from your device. With their help and a little time you can fix any problems you once had with this device.
Internet browsing on the N810 is not blazing fast but fast for a portable device. Because it supports flash sometimes websites with heavy flash applications can slow it down, but flash support can be turned off to speed up load times, flash support is not supported by most other portable devices.
The GPS in england can take quite a while to lock on but this can be improved by using an application from the Maemo website.
The qwerty keyboard on the N810 is soo much better than using an on screen keyboard like on other devices.
With the help of the Maemo community the N810 can do allot more than expected or was designed to do, for example it can run Debian, Android, KDE and windows 3.1, it can also use usb or bluetooth keyboards.
The N810 is a good all rounder it can play music and videos, view pictures, browse the net and much more, there are many applications available allowing the N810 to do much more.
What a game!
The story mode on Call of Duty 4 is second to none, theres no annoying AI or repetitiveness. While playing in story you play through the eyes of two soldiers, one British and one American. The missions have lots of variety giving you different tasks, like protecting an injured squad member or providing air support. The actual story of the game can be quite hard to follow, but you sometimes get somebody else's first person view in important cut scenes.
The graphics on this game are great, everything looks like it should, including the guns and uniforms of the characters. This game is very realistic allowing you to shoot through certain materials as you would be able to in real life, the way the missions are set is also very realistic. This game has no life bar because when your injured the screen turns red and a beating heart is heard, the more severely injured you are the more the heartbeat can be heard and the screen becomes even redder. One way this game could be improved is if there was destructible environments.
Online play offers many different game options like headquarters, deathmatch etc. Online play has a leveling system, when you kill another player or complete and online challenge(for example 15 knife kills) you get exp points and when you have enough exp point you level up. When you reach the highest level you are given the option to Prestige, this means you start again at level 1. Online play can become very frustrating because allot of people take it seriously and you can find yourself getting killed repetitively. The maps on online play can also be annoying as they are generally quit small meaning that there is no real strategy or teamwork, just loads of people running around like manics shooting.
The meizu m6 is a great little media player.
The music quality on the device is great, it has many presets.
The meizu itself is incredibly slim, this means you can fit it in your pocket and not even notice it, the meizu is also a very impressive looking device that is going to turn heads.
When scrolling for music you can scroll to choose from artist, album ect.
The meizu also supports images this allows you to put your favorite snaps onto it, the quality of the images is very good.
Video on the meizu is very good but you do have to convert videos with the software provided.
The meizu includes a Fm radio, this helps the meizu become a great all round media player.
The player is very customizable, allowing you to change the background and the various colors on the device.
The meizu is controlled using the scroll pad on the right side the pad can also be pressed in for additional control. The meizu m6 is a great portable media player, it can do everything and well.
Ive had my PS3 for 2 years now and have built up quite the game collection. The playstation 3 is much more than just a gaming console, it includes many other great features.
The PS3 includes built in wifi, bluetooth, usb ports, HDMI output, wired networking and a blu-ray player. Because the PS3 has the ability to play blu-ray discs this allows you to play HD movies. The PS3 can also upscale your normal DVDs to HD quality, this works very well delivering an amazing image.
Music can be played on the PS3 in many different ways, you can store many track on the playstations 40GB hard drive or streamed over a network, alternatively you can use the vidzone application included with the newest update. Vidzone allows you to stream music videos an create playlists over the internet.
The PS3 is a great way of getting different types of media to your television. If you've got loads of DVDs you want to play you can, if you've got movies or home videos on a desktop computer/laptop you can stream them to your PS3. The same can be said for images and music.
An accessory for the PS3 allows it to become a digital TV receiver.
The internet on the PS3 is extremely easy to set up, and after it has been set up online play is completely free.
One small problem with the PS3 is that when you get a new game it installs a small part of the game to the hard drive, this lowers loading times but can hog lots of space if you have allot of games.
This game is great!
UFC undisputed has some of the best graphics and physics ive ever seen in a game. The game features a great deal of realism in both the graphics and the game play.
The amount of realism in the game allows players to fight strategically, if a fighter becomes excessively tired they are more likely to get knocked out. If a fighter is punched in the stomach then they are more likely to get knocked down by a body blow. Leg kicks will weaken the opponents legs and make their kicks less effective.
Fighters will bleed if they are hit in the same place, they will also sweat as the fight goes on and they get tired. The game does not feature a health bar, this is because the fighters condition can be seen on their bodies and faces just like in real life.
The game has many different modes to keep the player interested, the career mode lets you create a fighter and let them learn moves and train them in the areas you wish to create your ideal fighter.
One of the other game modes allows you to recreate classic fights, this means you have to win against the same opponent in the same way in the same round, completing the task then unlocks a video summery of the real fight.
Online mode is the same as the exhibition mode but when you win fights you earn exp points and they allow you to level up, one small problem with online mode is that some sore losers will disconnect so that the match does not get put on their record.
This is another touch screen phone from Samsung known as the "Tocco". I've had this phone for quite a few months now and love it! Its not quite a smart-phone like an iphone or a blackberry but it is a great feature packed phone.
The tocco features a 5 megapixel camera, now 5 megapixels may not sound like allot compared to some other high end phones but the tocco's camera is extremely detailed, it has a great auto-focus that many other camera phones lack this allows the tocco to take amazing close ups. The tocco actually takes better close ups than my older 7.2 digital camera.
The tocco does not have the ability to download and install exclusive applications like the iphone and other smart-phones but you can install Java applications, the lack of a physical keyboard can make using the applications tricky but the phone produces a small on screen keyboard for applications if needed.
Web browsing on the tocco is good for viewing mobile versions of websites as it is fast, the tocco can handle HTML websites but they do load somewhat slower. Because the tocco supports HSDPA allowing it to get up to 7.2 mbps it can be a very useful wireless modem.
The music player on the tocco is advanced compared to other phones, it allows you to rate tracks as their playing, the player also shows album art, but you cannot choose albums by their art it only shows when playing the album. One problem with the music player is that it can play ringtones as well as songs so if your playing you whole library instead of the next song starting a ringtone starts.
All in all the tocco is not one of those top range smartphones with millions of applications but it does a wide range of things well, if you need to take a photo you can with a high quality camera, if you want to browse the web for a while you can, the same can be said for listening to the radio or using an alarm or timer ect. One bad point of the phone is that instead of having a sideways qwerty keyboard on screen it displays the letters like a normal phone keypad but on screen.
