Recently my husband bought an Exakt Saw and this is his reveiw.
For the past 15 years I have been making dolls houses and am always on the look out for small tools that will cut wood for me. When I first saw the advert for the Exakt Saw I thought was this yet another tool I would buy only to find that it did not deliver. I bit the bullet and bought it and was very suprised. It did every thing the advert said.
I only really needed it for wood and MDF but i have also cut tiles and small bolts.
On wood it's great it cuts very easily and to a very precise depth.
For new buyers I would like to point out that the saw is very powerful and when you start it up it does kick in your hands so you have to hold it very firm to the wood. Also there are two switches you have to depress or push in in order to cut and until you get used to it it can be awkward.
I think that the saw would be better if it had a soft start so it would give you time to control it before you cut. Also speed control as is on a router so that you can use different speeds for different materials.
A notch at the back end would also be handy so that it would slot into the cut and steady the rear of the saw so that you can concentrate on keeping the front of the saw on the line.
As I have said there are two switches, one to start the saw and another to allow you to depress it into the wood. This is awkward to opperate especially when you are plunging down into wood so if this could be adressed then it would make this tool a stunner.
Even though these points might prove a problem until you get used to them I would still recomend to anyone who does DIY to get this saw.
To finish I have also used this saw to cut out mortice and tennon joints on small projects.
I like to shop and when I buy things I like to buy something thats a little bit different and not everyone has. There is nothing worse than buying something new, wearing it out and finding someone else has the exact same thing as you on. Nightmare. Now when it comes to Paul's Boutique I can imagine that you either love the styles and designs or would not be seen anywhere near any of the products. now I can understand that but please do not be too quick to judge as I can assure you there is something for everyone in the range.
Now I'm in my late twenties and am I average sized woman. My niece is seventeen and small in size. Due to this I love Paul's bags and purses she loves the clothes. The bags have great designs and like I have already sad there is something for everyone. There are plain coloured bags and also ones with patterns. The inside of the bags are lined with patterend silk effect material which gives the bag an extra special feel. It also makes the bag even more eye catching. Each bag and purse also comes with a pretty charm which varries in size. This also gives the bag an extra special touch. I have a number of bags from Paul's Boutique and have no complaints. Everyone who sees me with my bags compliments me and due to the unique designs everyone knows I am carrying a Paul's Boutique bag.
As I have already mentioned my niece she loves the clothes. I myself have browsed through the clothing but I dont think they are too generous on their sizing judging by the clothes my niece has bought in the past. Also, personally I am not a big fan of designers putting their name on their clothing in huge letters. This is a personal preference and in no way does it reflect on the quality of the clothing like I have said my neice has bought clothing and is very happy with her purchases. The clothing has Paul's Boutique written on it or a simple 'PB'.
For christmas I bought some gifts for people of the Paul's Boutique website. The website was easy to navigate around and ordering was straight forward. I received my order within two days and had no issues with the service I recived. I was plesantly surprise and I dont know if this was just for christmas but the purse and jacket I ahd bought as gifts came wrapped intissue paper and placed in a box. I was really impressed with this especially as the purchases were gifts.
I really like Paul's Boutique and as I have mentioned the designs and producs are so varried that I feel there is something for everyone. I would advise people to give it a go and have a browse. You'll be surprised by what you find.
I was recommended Florence and the Machine by my neice. If I am honest I was not a fan at first and it took me a number of attempts to really get into the album but I am really glad that I did give it the time and attention Lungs deserves.
I bought the album and like many people originally stuck to the songs I had already heard of, these were 'Dog days are over' 'Rabbit Heart' and 'Kiss with a Fist'. I must say I did like these songs and the more I listened to them the more I enjoyed them. Florence has a unique voice which you are unable to compare to anyone else. I have heard Florence sing live and all I can say is WOW, she has an amazing talent. Her songs are haunting and the lyrics are clear and really reach out the listener.
After listening to the album I started to enjoy different tacks on the album. Now I know there must be more than just me who does this but when I am listening to a CD I very rarely listen to the whole CD. I will skip through to the songs that I like and other songs on the album will just get pushed aside unless I am not able to skip them. I was driving to work one day and got to the final song on Lungs and realised that I had not skiped one song. I can honestly say every song on the album is amazing and I love each and every one.
The album Is full of songs that suit every mood. When you listen to a CD you are going through different emotions and either need a pick me up which on this album I think 'Drummin song' is perfect for. The beat is constant and really gets you tapping your toe. I dont know if you have seen the video for this song but in it florence and her dancers seem to be jumping around dancing and just letting the music take control. I feel this sums up how I feel when I listen to the music. At other times (especially in the mornings) I need a chilled out song. I find that 'Between two lungs' and 'Cosmic love' fit this catagory perfect. The gently rhythm of the melody and the peacful melody of Florence voice totally compliment each other.
I must say this album totally made me into a Florence and the Machine super fan I find her music timeless and is always a plesant addition to my day. The main plus to Florence and the Machine is that they are talented and have built up a lot of respect due to that. If you have not heard the album I strongly advise that you do. I know everyone has different taste in music but if you have taken the time to read this reveiw and shown a slight interest in the group them I advise you get hold of the album as soon as possible. Enjoy !
I wouldn't call myself a chocoholic but for wisper gold I could change my mind. I first tasted a whisper gold many years ago and instantly loved it. The smooth, creamy, bubbly chocolate that can only be cabury's mixed with a smooth runny caramel centre. What more could you want from a bar of chocolate. When you put the bar in the fridge the chocolate becomes firm and chilled while the caramel remains soft (this can not be said for many caramel bars of chocolate). You can imagine my shock and horror when wisper gold came off the shelves and did not return. I could not think of any reason why this would have happened. But slowly I got over my devastation and moved on with my life.
A few months ago I was shopping and low and behold out of the corner of my eye and seen that familiar gold wrapping and thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. I went closer and seen my favourite chocolate bars. An even better surprise was that they were 4 for a £1. I was a little apprehensive to try one at first because as with many other 'food come backs' sometimes the product can change and not live up to your expectations. However, I am pleased to say that this was not the case, the chocolate bar was just as I had remembered smooth, creamy and lovely (and the same size as it used to be).
As a final note all I can say is thank you so much Cabury's for bringing back my bar of heaven.
I stumbled upon Quorn chicken style pieces when I was on a healthy eating diet. I seen that the chicken pieces were low in fat and decided to give them a go. Now the chicken pieces can be cooked in many different ways and come in both frozen and chilled. I have cooked with both (the frozen pieces are cheaper than the chilled version) and found no difference. Both cooked in a short space of time and both tasted exactle the same.
When I have cooked with the chicken style pieces I find them more tasty in a sauce. I cooked them with some chopped onion and mushroom in a tomato sauce. The meal is very quick to prepare and cook and goes lovely with pasta ro rice.
The chicken style piece will brown slightly but I checked that they were fully cooked by checking their temperature before I added any sauce. The pieces are very moist and have a mild taste. I will say they did not really remind me of chicken and had a slightly different consistency to chicken but they are very enjoyable. In order to make this a well rounded review I must say that the chicken style pieces are quiet bland and will need flavouring when cooking. I am not a hudge fan of spicey food but when I have cooked with Quorn I have added chilli flakes to help flavour the dish. I find that this gives the Quorn a subtly but needed bite.
Quorn chicken style pieces and healthy, low in fat and very enjoyable. I do see them as a good alternative to meat which is alot quicker and easier to cook and prepare.
As I have already mentioned I do the large majority of the washing and ironing in our home which also means that I purchase the products to do these lovely tasks. As we have started a new year I am still feeling the pinch from my recent wedding and Christmas so I have been looking into ways in which I can save money. I have always used ironing water and it has always been part of my weekly shopping however, I recently stopped to weigh up the reasons for why I buy ironing water and weather I really need to keep it on my weekly shopping list.
The comfort ironing water retails at around £1.20 (this is depending on where you shop) but obviously you can be lucky and get the ironing water on offer such as two of £2.00. I am aware that using ironing water helps prevent the build up of limescale in your iron which gives it a longer life but as I come from an area with soft water this is not a really issue for me. The ironing water has a pleasant scent which is not over powering. This one gives a faint floral smell which is also quiet sweet. Although the scent is pleasant I can not say that I have noticed that it is transferred onto my clothes when I am ironing only the air around me seems to be scented.
After careful consideration I have decided that due to me trying to save money at present I will need to put the ironing water aside and go back to using good old fashioned water. I am not saying the ironing water does not have its benefits however, at present it has to be the first thing to go.
As someone who spends a lot of time doing the washing and ironing in our house I take on the role of buying our washing powder and fabric conditioner. Due to the current economic climate I have tried to save a little money here and there with certain household items but after already trying some own brand washing powders and fabric conditioners I was not too keen on going cheaper again (Cheaper is not always the best way to go). I usually try to wait until certain fabric conditioners are on offer in the supermarket and then buy them however, a firm favorite of mine is comfort sunfresh.
Comfort Sunfresh is a yellow liquid which is thick in consistency. This is ideal because you will need less conditioner in each wash but it works the same (if not better) that thinner liquids. As soon as you remove the lid off the bottle you are instantly hit with a fresh summer smell. The smell is quiet strong but this only goes to give a long lasting smell on your clothes after you have washed them. I can only describe the smell as outside during the summer. There is a feeling of warmth and even on the coldest day of winter the scent on your clothes will bring back memories of summer. The smell stays on your clothes for a period of time. A strong smell will last for a good few days after washing and a more close up subtly smell will last until you wear the item of clothing (providing that is within a week or two).
I understand that smells can seem different to each individual but I have not found anyone who does not like the smell of comfort sunfresh as it is a pleasant smell and brings back the days of summer in these dark and dismal days.
As a self confessed lush lover I must say I am a huge fan of all of their products. The use of natural ingredience and the loving effort which goes into making each products just makes me love lush all the more. I am not a huge fan of foot scrubs or creams I find a normal body scrub or body cream works just as well but I was bought stepping stone for a present in a gift set. It took me awhile to use the product but once I did I shocked I ever thought that a body scrub would be just as good as a foot scrub.
Stepping stone as you can see from the picture is shaped as a foot. It's is green and has a very strong smell of peppermint. The foot is made up of a gritty substance and breaks up easily. I will say now you need to keep stepping stone away from water until you are ready to use it as it will dissolve in the water. You will need to break off a small piece and then massage into a wet foot. The messaging motion will help to act as an exfoliator along with the gritty texture of the scrub. I used the product in the bath so I could keep me feet out of the water and relax a little before washing the scrub off. The smell of peppermint is quiet strong but not overpowering and when the scrub is on your foot it gives a tingling feeling. Once the scrub is washing off your feet will feeling very soft and clean. I will say it is better if you follow up with a good foot cream after your have dried your feet. This helps to ensure your feet remain soft.
I would recommend that you do this a couple a times a week initially and then continue with this once a week. As I have mentioned I am a huge lush fan so need very little convincing to treat myself to use a lush product. I would recommend this especially through the winter months to get you feet ready for summer.
As any girl will agree there is nothing worse than trying to wrestle your eye make up off after a night out. I have tried a number of liquids, creams and wipes but none that have really made me feel they were really good or value for money. That was until I tried bi facil. I only tried bi facil by chance. I was bought hydrazen face cream and a free gift came with it. In this free gift was a small bottle of bi facil along with other face care products.
When I first tried the the product I was a little put off because it looked very oily and I was a fried that may sting my eyes or may make my skin quiet oily. I tried the product and applied a little liquid to a cotton wool pad, I then wiped the liquid across my eye and found that with two wipes the eye make up was removed. I must admit I do not use a lot of eye make up and the amount of bi facil will depend on how much eye make up you actually use. As I mentioned the product did look quiet oily when in the bottle. When it is applied to your eyes it does leave behind an oily residue however, there is no irritation as the liquid is very gentle on the skin. I will say though that after using bi facil I do need to was my face to remove the oily residue but this washes away easily.
I looked into purchasing bi facil for when I run out of my free gifts (if you buy Lancome products from Debenhams there is nearly always an offer which includes a free gift. This almost always includes a small bottle of bi facil.) for a 125ml bottle it is £20. I think this is quiet reasonable for a good, sensitive eye make up remover.
There are not many things that I splash my cash on however hydrazen Neurocalm soothing anti stress moisturizing cream is one thing that I will not give up. I have been using this moisturizer for about a year and have really seen a difference in the condition of my skin. I will admit that the cream does have a larger price tag than some high street brand creams but I would rather pay a little more for something I really feel works.
The cream itself does have a floral scent but this is not overpowering and once the cream has been applied you are no longer able to smell the cream. The cream is white and is thick in it's texture, however although the cream is quiet thick it is in no way heavy or greasy and does not leave an oily texture.
I apply the cream after using a lancome face wash. You do not need a large amount of face cream which ensures that the pot of cream you have bought will last longer. The cream spreads evenly and absorbs quickly into the skin. After applying the cream your skin feels soft and smooth to touch. There is enough moisture in the cream to feed dry skin but not too much to leave skin greasy.
In regards to the price of the cream as I have already mentioned I understand that it can be out of some peoples price range at £37 for 50mls but there are a wide range of offers on in stores such as Debenhams. At Christmas I bought a gift set which included the hydrazen neurocalm soothing anti stress moisturizing cream. This worked out as a much better deal. Also if you bought two lancome products you received a free gift which included a small hydrazen cream. Due to only needing a small amount of cream each time you use it the 50 ml jar will last you about 2 months.
I am a huge fan of Lancome products and am always keen to try out any of there products. This is because I feel that you get what you pay for and The cream is well worth the money
I use alot of lancome products as I find they are kind on the skin and although they are not the cheapest on the market I find they are good value for money. For christmas I was bought a gift pack of Lancome juicy tubes. They come in a range of different fruity flavours which co ordinate with the shade of lip gloss. There is six different shades to chose from I will say I do not find there is much difference in the colours once they are applied especially the softer shades but seen as I am not a fan of lip stick and would prefer a gloss this suits me.
The lip gloss is flavored but it is not a stong flavour so dont be put off if you do not like the described flavour you will not be able to taste it. I will say even though you can not taste the flavour there is a strong scent from the lip gloss which is sweet and fruity. The lip gloss leaves a nice gloss on the lips which does last for a period of time. However, you will need to keep it close by as you will need to re apply throughout the day or night. When first applied the gloss is a little sticky and if you have long hair it can be a pain if your hair sweeps across your face as it will stick to your lips. The gloss is quiet thick but not uncomfortable when you first apply but it will wear away.
Although I recieved the juicy tubes in a gift pack I have noted that they usually retail at £14.50. If you purchase the juicy tubes from a store such as debenhams they often have offers on where you will receive a free gift if you buy one or more lancome poducts. Sometimes that free gift is a juicy tube. My advice would be to wait for one of these deals and then give a juicy tube a try.
If you have read my previous reviews you will know I am a huge fan of lush and its products. I find lush products are reasonably priced for the luxury you feel after using their products. Eveything is used with natural products and the staff there are really helpful and most importantly they seem like they really enjoy their job.
I like the bath bombs but must admit I miss having bubbles in my bath so when I found the bubble bars I was quiet excited I get the luxury of lush with the bubbles. I was kindly shown how to use the bubble bar by the kind sales lady in store but dont wory if you are not given a demonstration or forget what was said, if you go on line to the lush store they often have handy videos giving step by step visual instructions on how to use their products.
The bubble bar is quiet large (a little bigger than the palm of you hand) they come in slightly different sizes as they seem to be hand made. They are puple with a white swirl in the middle. The bar smells quiet strong of blackcurrent. Although the smell is quiet strong it is in no way overpowering and I find that when it is used it fills the bathoom with a sweet smell. The bar is £3.99 which may sound a little expensive but it is worth it.
How to use it
Firstly you start your bath running with warm water then with dry hands break off a piece of the bubble bath. I estimate that you can get four uses out of one bar which makes the price seem a little more reasonable. After breaking the piece off start to crumble it under the warm running water this helps to create the bubbles. Now it is up to personal preference as to whether you need to add anymore of the bar if so break some off and spinkle under the flow of water. The water will start to turn purple and the aroma of the bubble bar will soon fill the bathroom. The scent makes you think of sweets and takes me back to when I was little.
The sweet aroma mixed with the soft feel of you skin once you leave the bath is very relaxing. The bubble bar is excellent to use prior to going to bed, The scent fom the bubble bar stays on your skin after you have left the bath and I find you can still smell it on your body throughout the day.
Would definately recommend, this is one of my must haves from lush and I regularly pop into the shop to pick one up.
I bought this for my husband for christmas last year. Now if any of you have a husband like mine you will understand when I say he is the hardest person to buy for. My husband works in dirty conditions and uses his i phone through the day to listen to music (he loves his music) which is not great for the phone and seen as they are not cheap to buy I thought I should find him an alternative. Now my husband does have a short attention span when it comes to his new toys so this mixed with the fact that whatever music device I bought him may get damaged in work I did have a budget in mind.
I bought the i pod shuffle off the tesco website it was £39.99 and as I am a tesco clubcard holder I was able to get points for my purchase. I believe it was double clubcard points at the time which was an added bonus. The i pod was easy to order and was delivered in two days (and that was standard shipping).
The i pod is small in size but it has a clip so the wearer can attach it to their clothing. The function dial which allows you the play, skip and pause the device is on the front of the i pod and is the full size of the i pod. The dials are big enough that even larger fingers are able to navigate with no issues. The i pod also comes with a free set of apple eaphones as with all their audio devices. I actually like these eaphones but I know others prefer to buy more comfortable earphones. The i pod seems to be compatable with all of these.
The i pod is 2GB which is quiet small but it does hold about 300 songs (enough to see you through a work day) and seen as i tunes is very easy to navigate around you are able to make up different play lists and can then swap and change these play lists via your i tunes account. Now for those who do not own any i pod devices and ae not aware of itunes once you buy an i pod device you will be expected to plug it into you computer. This will then set up your itunes, it provide easy to follow steps so that you can take full advantage of your itunes account and library.
So back to the ipod. I think it was an amazing buy yeah I agee it is small and does not hold alot of songs compared to other ipod devices but for the pice of £39.99 it is affordable and could be a great starter ipod for someone. Other uses could be for work, the gym or also fo travel (it is small enough to fit the smallest bags). I would definately recommend this ipod.
I suffer from quiet sensitive dry skin. My skin can become quiet itchy and inflamed especially in dry conditions. Sometimes certain shower gels can add to the irritation and anyone who suffers the same condition as me will understand when I say how uncomfortable and and sore this can make you feel.
I tried using unsented shower gels, using a clean cloth to wipe off the showe gel and also patting my legs with a cold, damp towel. Nothing seemed to work and as mentioned once the itching started it was had to stop scatching which then led to red, sore, broken skin. As i am typing this I realise how unattractive I have made myself seem but I wanted to get across how much this cream can be a real benifit to people who suffer from simular skin conditions.
I found aveeno while I was shopping at my local boots. I was searching for a new body cream one which would hopefully relieve the itching. I am awilling to give anything a try once as I am a strong believer that different products work for different people. I wen home and had a shower, used an unsented shower gel and once I had dried tried my new body cream. The effects were instant there was no irritation, my skin was lovely and smooth and there was a lovely scent on the body cream. Not too ovepowering but enough to leave a natural outdoors smell. I was very impressed with aveeno but realised I needed to put it to a proper test. The following day I showered and used a normal scented shower gel. It was lovely to use a scented shower gel it makes you feel really clean afte a shower. I then applied the aveeno not really expecting to experience any great changes. But to my surprise there was no itching and again my skin felt soft and smooth.
Needless to say I am very impressed with this product and would definately recommend that people with skin irritations give it a try. My next step will be to try the other products by aveeno. Since using the body cream I am able to use normal shower gels without the irritation. The body cream is not expensive I believe I pay around £3 and because of the fantastic results this is £3 well spent.
Oh my goodness what did I do before my FHI's. I have naturally curly hair but please don't befooled into thinking that my hair has perfect curls I have to work very hard to have my hair looking acceptable whether I want it curly or straight. My hair is quiet frizzy, it does not matter if I blow dry it professionally or if I use top of the range frizz ease brands when my hair is dry it starts to frizz. When I started to straighten my hair it was always a battle and a long drwn out process. When I had just about given up my hairdresser introduced me to FHI's. I gave them a go in the hairdressers and went home to order a pair straight away.
My FHI's are black with red plates which makes them look quiet posh. The plates are thinner than other straighteners I have used but I find this makes them easier to use especially on short layered hair. The straighteners have a really long lead which I find really useful there is nothing worse than not being able to sit by the mirror to straighten your hair because the lead won't stretch. There is a heat setting on the straighteners which goes up to 220 I keep the heat on this setting but I have used them on a lower heat and they worked just as good. There is a small light on the inside are which is situated by the on/ off switch. This will flash when the straighteners have reached the desired heat and are ready to use. The straights take seconds to heat up. I usual find they have heated up by the time I have brushed and separated my hair.
I do love these straighteners and rate them really high, they allow me to too look my best and give me added confidence when I want to look fabulous. Thank you FHI.
