I was writing reviews when I stumbled across this product, and remembered all the good times I had with my old DS. I just had to write a review.
I remember as a child, my younger brother loved to play on the DS! We had both dreamed of one since they had been released, and when we finally got the device, we couldn't put it down. It was light and easy to store, both my brother, myself, and all my friends would carry around our DS's in our backpacks on the way to school. The DS had a battery life that lasted forever, and tons of game options. It was easy to recharge, and simple to figure out. However, the best thing about the DS is that its durability! I have had mine for almost 6 years now, and it still funcitons perfectly well. My brother even spilled water on his, and it still worked perfectly! My parents also loved the DS, as there were a wide variety of games for them to play on it as well. This has been one of the best handheld Game devices I have ever owned, and I recommend it to all.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is a more realistic version of the spy world. Unlike movies like James Bond, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, etc. this movie revolves around a more realistic spy investigation, and what spies are more likely to experience when working on a case. The movie is based on a book written by John Le Carre in 1974, and is set in 1973. The plot is set mainly on mind games, not fast paced action and intense battle scenes. A viewer must pay close attention to understand and follow the plot. The ending is also extremely hard to understand, and has left critics amazed at the sheer complexity of the plot.
However, as I do not want to spoil the entire movie for whomever may be reading this review, I will only state that Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is for those looking for a challenging puzzle to resolve. Note there is a little sexual reference and a few very gory scenes also, so parent advisory for children is strongly recommended. This is definitely not a kids movie.
I picked up this movie when I had heard positive reviews from both critiques and friends alike. I must say I quite enjoyed the film, and enjoyed the challenge of decoding and understanding the plot. Like I mentioned earlier though, it was quite hard to follow and I ended up needing to google search the meaning of the film in the end.
I recommend this movie to those looking for a hard puzzle to solve.
This ipod is nice for those looking for an easy to carry around, compact mp3 player. It is small, about the size of the palm of a hand, and easy to slip into a purse. I have had mine for almost 6 years (ancient, right) and it still functions almost perfectly. However, I do not recommend this ipod for people looking for tons of music storage space, or games and applications. Unlike the touch, the ipod Nano has a couple games programmed into it, none of which I find particularly interesting. Also, as this model is only 4 GB, it holds up to about 1000 songs. Like I stated earlier, it almost functions perfectly, as in I have had a few problems in more recent years. My ipod has started glitching, scrolling by itself and freezing up. I believe these problems are only because my ipod is so old, but cannot be sure. Music must be played through headphones or earphones, and cannot be played out loud when the headphones/earphones are unplugged.
Sorry, but it is time to bring out my inner fangirl. I'm a young teenage girl (writing reviews on her mother's account) and I love this album. The music itself is not mindblowingly amazing, however the boys who sing the songs are. This album features many catchy songs great to get ready to (as a girl) and quite a few meaningful, slow songs as well. It is the perfect mixture of fun and serious, catchy and thought provoking. Not to mention One Direction are quite an interesting, funny lot of boys to watch, whether it be during interviews or on stage. I do not dislike a single song on this album, and recommend it to those who want catchy songs you could dance around your room to. I also enjoyed this album more than One Direction's first, Up All Night, as it features equal amounts of solos for all members in the band. This album is very kid friendly, with no swearing and no direct sexual reference. It is easy to listen to, learn, sing a long to and enjoy. I love Take Me Home.
I bought this laptop last year for school, and with the second year almost finished, it still functions amazingly! As the time passed, I bought a pro as well, and in comparison I like the original Macbook much more. It is more durable than the pro, and can play DVD's unlike the air. This laptop is easy to use, with tons of applications to use and download, as well as many customization and security options. The laptop is perfect for students, as so many interesting and useful apps are out there to help students study. I must say this laptop is one of the best I have ever owned. However, I have heard that for business and work purposes, other computers may function better. This computer is strictly for studious or home purposes, though equipped with the applications needed for business work. As I had mentioned earlier, the Macbook is also very sturdy. My personal Macbook has survived many falls from different heights (due to my embarrassingly obvious clumsiness) as well as water spills on the device, and still functions perfectly fine without a single dent or scratch. Amazing buy, I recommend it to all.
This product has definitely been an impressive find. If you are like me, and need a cheap, light, day-to-day sort of Camera, the Samsung PL170 is definitely what you are searching for. It is quite light, and easy to carry around as it is compact. There are no strange gadgets and buttons sticking off of the camera either, allowing it easy storage in bags and such on the run. The quality is quite good in natural sunlight, though photos in rooms lit solely by lights seem to be of lower quality. The coolest feature of this camera is the F.LCD button, which when pressed shows the screen on the side of the camera. No need for a bulky attached viewpoint with this camera! It also provides different filters, effects, focus, and photograph-type related options. It's quite easy to figure out, and easy to import. It is also a decent price.
I am very pleased with this Camera, though I do not advise it to people looking for more professional or higher quality photographs. DEFINITELY a camera for a busy mum to carry around.
Let me start this review by saying this phone is not for everyone. It is nowhere near as technologically advanced as many other phones on the market, so if you are looking for a phone with many trinkets and apps, this phone is not for you. I have a younger brother who recently started carrying around a phone similar to this, as a way to learn responsibility. As the phone is cheap, it is great for young kids to use, since the threat of losing it and losing money is not so worrisome for parents. After I lost my iphone as a teen (yikes) my parents also gave me this phone, and I found it functioned well for such a cheap price. However, I suffered as this model is definitely not the most efficient for texting or quick messaging, and not great for apps either. As a teenager, I found this phone rather embarrassing and tried to hide it away.
Simply put, this phone is for kids, or people looking for a simple device used strictly for the purpose of calling others. It is not great for texting, applications, photography, and looks 'old fashioned' and many teenagers would dislike carrying it around.
I quite like the pro, though it does not seem as sturdy as the original macbook. The new look is chic and quite modern, and easy to carry around as it is quite light. However, like I mentioned it is more breakable. I had a Macbook for two years, dropping it from many heights as I am rather clumsy, and it never broke (not even a scratch was inflicted!) After I switched to the Macbook Pro, even a small drop or being knocked into my textbooks seemed to dent it. My friend had the same Macbook Pro as I, but had to switch after dropping it as the drop left a massive dent in the top corner of the screen. She hadn't dropped it from such a high level, and I know for a fact that a Macbook would not have dented if dropped from the same height. My other friend had problems with the hard drive constantly crashing as well, having to get it repaired at the Apple shop almost three times only months after purchase. Simply put, if you plan on buying this product, Beware! Though the Macbook Pro looks cool, it isn't quite as strong! If you are clumsy and the kind of person to throw their laptop in their bags after work without much care, steer clear of this product. The battery life also seems shorter than the original Macbook.
