I have been using my Dell Inspiron 1545 for a few months. I'm happy I settled on the right choice. My mate recommended it to me since he had also been using it for a while.
I mainly use it to write articles on my blog and to talk to friends on facebook and Skype. I also use it a lot to watch videos on sites such as youtube and Netflix. It is excellently presented being nice and thin, sleek and smooth, with multiple colours to pick from. (I went with black because it matches the other electronics in my living area)
To wrap things up, I think it is an incredible laptop for the cost. I used to have a dell before this oneand I've always found them very enjoyable to use simply because they are so easy to set up and if I have any problems with them I can find help easily online.
Generally speaking, awesome laptop for a brilliant experience and reasonable price. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a laptop for simple things such as browsing the internet and watching videos.
Well my Kindle was passed onto me by my mother and at first I thought the concept of it to be very boring and quite plain, I had the assumption it is just a very bottom of the range tablet like an Ipad, that could only be used for reading.
Upon first use I thought it was quite weird to get used to but eventually after a couple of hours of playing around I got used to the buttons and controls. Now this is where it gets good.
I am absolutely in love with the kindle now. I use it almost daily on my break at work, before I go to sleep at night and when ever I feel like reading. I didn't realise how handy it would be to have pretty much a whole library with me where ever I go, it is just such an amazing device. I usually use it read educational books I'm not that into fiction books so I like my factual stuff!
It is very fast I never notice it being slow or sluggish, it always saves my place in a book. One feature I do love is when it dies or I switch books to something else, it'll always hold the place I last left it in so I can have multiple books on the go at once which I find a great.
The best thing about this device though, is the battery. The battery on this bad boy will last you for days or weeks! I read on average about 1-2 hours a day, and I usually charge it maybe once every 1 and a half weeks. When I read less I sometimes go up to 3 weeks without charging it.
Overall this device is simply amazing, so convenient, so easy to use and very light weight in your hands.
I like many others I know had trouble deciding between an S3 and an Iphone 5. In the end, since I am writing this review chose the Samsung Galaxy S3.
The Samsung GS3 is an amazing phone, until this one I haven't owned a samsung phone in years because I found they were not to my liking. However after thoroughly looking at reviews of the phone on youtube and google, I decided to give it a go and see what happens.
I'll start with the size because that is what puts a lot of people off at first. The size of the phone is an annoyance at first, but after a day or so of using it I became completely used to it and I don't even notice how big it is in comparison to other phones. Now when I hold another phone in my hand it feels too small for my liking because I feel like I'm going to drop it on the floor!
Compared to other smart phones I have used, the samsung GS3 has got amazing battery life, I couldn't go a day without charging my old phone (HTC Desire) because it'd go flat, with the GS3 I've gone a whole weekend without charging it, using it only when necessary. Even when I use it for facebook/twitter/general use I can still go about 2 days without charging it, which surprises me because a big phone with a screen the size of the Samsung GS3 I'd expect that it'd need charging every day.
The speed of the phone is amazing, I love it, compared to my old phone it blows it out of the water because I don't ever find it lagging behind or taking a while to load anything. Video playback is also very good when connected to WiFi, I never used to use my phone to watch videos because it was slow in loading even when connected to WiFi and it would lag as well, but with the GS3 I'm always watching youtube on my phone.
I'm a massive fan of Android and I believe it works seamlessly on the GS3 on my HTC desire the Google play store was always loading really slow and it'd take a while to install apps once they had been downloaded, with the GS3 it installs all apps within seconds of the download completing.
Overall I just simply love this phone, my only wish is that I waited a month longer to upgrade because then I could have got the GS4 but still, it doesn't bother me that much because in my eyes the GS3 is still an amazing phone!
Cutters choice tobacco to my is my favourite rolling tobacco. The main reason being is that it is cheap! Sure there are cheaper brands but I find that they taste rubbish, sterling for example is the cheapest tobacco I have seen ( I think) but it tastes dreadful. Cutters choice is the fine line between cheap tobacco, but yet has a taste I can like.
Cutters choice was the first rolling tobacco I used, and I have heard that it is the first choice for many who wish to start rolling their own cigarettes. The reason being is because the way its blended and packed together I believe makes it a lot easier to roll with unlike other tobaccos such as B&H silver/gold. B&H tobacco is very crispy and this makes it difficult to roll with at first. Cutters choice in comparison seems quite moist inside the pouch which is what makes it a better choice for me over other tobaccos.
Cutters choice when taking it from the pouch I find it clumps together which makes it easy to take out a continuous string of tobacco and with practice that continuous string of tobacco will be the correct size for a cigarette and eventually you get the correct thickness required for that perfect roll up. With other tobaccos I can't always seem to get the right length or thickness I need for a perfect roll up every time.
The only negative thing about this tobacco is the pouch its self. It doesn't have an air tight seal so depending on how often you smoke, after a while if you only smoke very few a day then the tobacco has a tendency to dry out. Now I find nothing wrong with dry tobacco but others who I have spoke to about it say that it makes it taste different and make it more harsh on your throat.
Anyway thanks for reading! Have a good day.
The Dolce Gusto Coffee maker was a present that I brought my mother for Christmas, and I have ended up using it more myself! Every morning I'll make one of these delicious coffees, usually a Late, but sometimes I go for the Expresso!
Now, onto the actual product. I always steered clear from coffee machines because I always though they were way too complicated and too much hassle to operate compared to a kettle made coffee. I was very wrong, with the Dolce Gusto machine it is so simple, and so tasty! The steps are so simple, Turn machine on and wait for the red flashing light to turn green, insert the little container of milk into the slot, start pouring, mid cup, swap to the desired coffee container, pour until the cup is full. Voila you have a tasty coffee.
The coffee itself is also very cheap and in comparison to coffee purchased at a local coffee bar such a Star bucks or Costa. They range from about £4-6 for a box of 8 and a large coffee in a coffe shop usually costs me £3-4 on its own. So getting 8 for only a couple of extra quid is bloody amazing, because they taste the same. And knowing I haven't paid out of my backside for a cup of coffee makes it taste just that much better!
As silly as it sounds, I love the little coffee container stand you get. You can slot your coffee and milk containers into this stand and it swirls round sort of like a rotating rack in a store. It just makes it fun to use (Yet I feel very childish for admitting this!)
Overall I'd definitely recommend this product to any Coffee lover who can't seem to start their day without that delicious cuppa first thing in the morning!
Thanks! Have a good day.
This is a phone that I love so much, it is just simply amazing, and here's why!
I'll start with my favourite part about the phone, which is the battery! It could go a lifetime without needing to be charged. This phone was my 'Festival' phone, so when ever I would go to a music festival I'd take it with me, I'd make calls to my friends to find out where they are, I would text people, then to top all that off I would even play the terrible games it has to offer! I would do all that for the length of the festival, usually 3 days. By the end of the festival when my friends had either gone through multiple different phones or batteries, I'd be sitting there still chatting away and texting people with my phone. The battery life on the Nokia Xpress music is unbeaten by none in my experience!
The display is very nice, it is crisp and responds very well when used in conjunction with the stylus. The only downside I will mention is that without the stylus, it sometimes is quite annoying to use the screen. Although if you are female or maybe even male with slightly long nails you wont have a problem. Unlike modern touch screen that detects the likelihood of it being a human finger and then reacting to it, it uses a point system, so anything can be used on the screen of this phone.
At the time that I used it, the applications were all quite useless apart from the call/text/music system, but back then thats all phones were used for, hardly anyone had a phone capable of decent internet browsing! Or were they? This nokia came with an application I decided to check out called the Ovi Store, so I looked on this application and I found out it had some useful applications for download. The most useful was the new in phone web browser Opera! which made browsing the web so easy and quick even on just a mobile network! I'd constantly find myself using internet on my phone, even though my contract included 500MB of internet data, I never used it because the in phone browser is quite terrible!
Lastly the keyboard is the last feature I'll talk about. I loved it! Simple as that really. The keyboard could be your typical number pad with each letter associated to a number. However if you prefer a qwerty keyboard then don't fret, because you can have one! Just select it from the options and it is done. The keys were easy to use and even when I had lost the stylus I found no trouble hitting the keys when I had slightly longer nails. Then there was another keyboard feature. A mini onscreen qwerty keyboard, now this smaller fully qwerty keyboard I tested out but found no real use for it, as for it to be effective you need to use the stylus, and when using a stylus I find that I can't type as fast as I would like to.
So as always this is the end of my review, its based mostly on the unique selling points that attract me to the phone, if you were looking for a technical review I'm sorry but it's not here!
Thanks! Have a good day.
This watch to me is a very nice accessory that I wear everyday without fail. I didn't pay for the watch simply because I could never justify spending this much on a fashion accessory but the watch was given to me by someone very close, and they received it as a gift from their father. At the time of purchase in 1991 it was £1200 and I still have the original receipt for it to this day.
Now onto the actual watch. The craftsmanship behind it is superb and is beautifully designed, the face on mine however is white and not black, and I'm glad it is different because I'm not a massive fan of the black face. The date counter is a very handy feature, my only problem with it is that every month it goes to 31 which means once a Month i need to set the date again, it only takes 5 seconds but it is annoying when I forget!
As for the time telling abilities its self, I find it to be very accurate and it never falls behind or goes ahead which in my experience of cheap watches does happen a lot, mostly due to the fact I'm always on the move and I very rarely take it off, only for showering and sleeping I will take it off (Although it is water proof something this expensive in the shower freaks the heck outta me).
The clasp that keeps the watch on is not at all noticeable to anyone whilst it is on as it is very stream line and everything keeping it shut and locked to your wrist is hidden underneath. It is very easy to open but once closed and on your wrist theres not a single worry it'll ever fall off!
The only downside to the watch I find is changing the battery, for me it cost £80 and I had to send it off for 11 weeks, because they cannot do it at your typical jewellers/watch shop. It must be sent to the manufacturers which is a bit annoying. Although once changed it'll be at least a good couple of years where it wont need another battery change.
Lastly just as a little big up to Ebel the makers and to give it a better impression. When I went to get the battery changed and also have it refurbished (Which cost £200!) the man at the jewellers was quite impressed when he saw it, and the shop I was in I'm guessing had something to do with Rolex because he had to lean in and whisper that in his opinion Ebel are much better watch makers than Rolex. That had me pretty chuffed in all honesty because I am not able to buy my own watch like this, and the meaning that I have behind it makes it feel so much more expensive when wearing it.
Anyway this was just my opinion and short story about it. I hope this is useful to someone. With this review I thought I would make it more personal than factual so I still hope this is useful to at least someone!
Thanks and have a good day.
So the Ipod touch (4th gen) I found at the time of release was unbeatable, all Ipods usually are! They are in a league of their own in the mp3/mp4 player market. I see no other reason to ever get any other portable music player. I don't even think I should call it an mp3/4 player because it is so much more than that!
The features it boasts are simply put, fan-bloody-tastic! The thousands of apps available through the app store make it a unique mp4 player. Games, educational apps, shopping apps, developer apps, news apps, photographer apps, social apps. Really need I go on? because I can if you want me to! One amazing feature is Imessage, yes you can text and face time your friends and family from a music player! (Which is why it is so much more than 'Just a music player') although on an Ipod 4g these features require a wifi connection, which is by no means a draw back, because what other device like this can you make video calls and text your friends?
The speed of Ipods is always extremely fast because they use the same processors as the Iphone, same operating system and same apps. Usually when a new Iphone is released there will be a new Ipod with the same processor so the speed is always staying at the top of its market.
The screen is so beautiful very detailed which seems to be improved upon every new release! The battery life for an Ipod I always find amazing. I will charge mine once every 2-3 days which makes it so useful for travel/if you forget your charger. Also seeing as Iphones and Ipods are widely used, chances are where every you are going a friend will have some sort of Ipod/phone charger!
Lastly I'll talk about the usability, with this product age is not an issue it is so simple to use, I've never met anyone who if you put it straight in their hands that they wouldn't know what to do with it. I've seen parents give their 2-3 year old child an Ipod to play on to keep them quiet or to stop them crying!
I've only covered the topics that make the Ipod a great purchase to me. So I know I've not covered everything about the Ipod but I have covered the most important parts to me.
I've noticed in the rating section that it wishes for me to rate the download speed. Download speed on an Ipod is completely dependant on the Wifi connection that you are connected to. So this can be anything from very slow, to lightning downloads.
Thanks! Have a nice day.
Well, Straight away I'm not going to lie to you. The Macbook Pro is very over priced, you're paying for the name and that little white apple on the laptop that lights up when in use. This being said you are also paying for amazing customer service where they have thousands of pages of helpful answers to any problems you come across on the apple forums, the on phone customer service is simple amazing too they are polite and know what they are talking about. Lastly if you have a store near you and any problems with your laptop, take it in to them and they'll sort it no problem!
Just because it is over priced doesn't take away from it that it is an amazing laptop nonetheless. I used to hate everything apple, until my friend got the standard Macbook when they were still being made (Now replaced with the macbook air) It was something I'd never seen before this lovely white laptop, far better than any laptop I had owned, its features were amazing. He is a graphic designer and the applications he used all seemed to work seamlessly on a mac, with more usability than any windows counter part even with the same specification.
After that I really did start to like apple and eventually I was able to purchase a Macbook pro on finance. When I got it I fell in love all over again, the usability of a Mac is rivalled by none, windows computers in comparison are useless now I can't stand them. The gestures able to be used on the track pad made browsing the internet so much more quick and easy and even fun, the zooming, page scrolling (Up, down, side to side) picture rotating were all brilliant, then being able to view all applications open in one screen is very handy especially when I am running many programs! The ability to full screen every windowed program I find very useful too!
The last thing I'm going to go into is the battery life, I do love how long it lasts (Up to 8 hours) and also how quickly it is able to charge, even when I've only charged it for a couple hours. I find that I still get more usage out of it compared to how long its been on charge. Also the charger is simply genius because its magnetised so that its easy to slot in, even in the dark such as when browsing the web at night or in a badly lit room, and its not so magnetised that if you or someone else were to trip over it, that it'd break. However I don't recommend doing it on purpose as I'm sure it'll eventually cause damage. The only reason the magnetised charger slot is a bonus is because I've ruined 2 laptop charging sockets due to me tripping over them! (Such bad luck i know!)
I'm not going to go into specification details because chances are if you are looking at buying a Macbook Pro then you already know them, and also you can see them right now at the top of the page! This is just more a first hand experience review instead of a technical review.
Thanks! Have a good day.
The HP mini 210 (10.1 inch display) is a handy little fella! The laptop its self is very small, compact and lightweight. When I received it as a present I saw the box and thought that it was going to be a standard sized notebook with a 13 inch screen. I was dead wrong!
At first I was disappointed because I was used to a 13 inch screen and I thought my hands would be too big for the keyboard, but the keyboard is very good and the keys weren't so close together I found myself hitting the wrong keys or more than one key at once. It was spread out almost perfectly the only bad side to it was the directional keys were a little smaller than my liking, but after a couple days use it was not even noticeable.
The screen is very well lit with a resolution of 1024 x 600 and although it is only 10.1 inches I found no problem watching videos on the internet or my favourite films on Lovefilm! I will say though that due to the size of the screen the web browsing experience at first was annoying because most pages wouldn't fit within the screen properly however the work around is easy, just put the zoom at about 70-80% instead of 100%.
The speed of the laptop I thought was excellent for such a small computer! with 1gb of ram and a 1.66ghz processor it can perform all your basic processes such as facebook, twitter and youtube, word processing and for me code writing, and having such a small laptop so easily portable this was a massive bonus!
The sound quality for a laptop is amazing, it boasts having Beats audio (Yes as in those big headphones that cost close to or more than £300 on their own) and for a laptop so small, the audio quality is actually very good, beats the gaming laptop my brother owns!
In this review I've only gone over the main details that attract me to a product, I would've gone into more tech detail, but I thought I'd keep it simple and short so you can make your mind up yourself!
Overall though this was probably one of the best present I have received and I definitely recommend it to anyone who just needs a laptop for basic functions such as internet browsing, video watching and taking notes in school or at work.
Where to start with a Blackberry? It really is quite a difficult question!
I had a Blackberry 9360 because a big chunk of my friends had them, and their friends also seemed to all have a Blackberry phone. When my contract was due for renewal I thought "Yeah I'll go for a Blackberry because so many people have them and I will be able to talk to them using BBM (Blackberry Messenger) for free! So sure enough I got the Blackberry on my renewed contract.
At first I was so happy because the phone was really good, it was fast, the interface was a bit confusing but like with any new phone it always is quite hard getting rid of those old habits you had with your previous phone. As silly as it sounds I got hooked on the already installed game called Brick Breaker, whilst waiting around for anything such as a bus or if I were meeting someone chances are I'd be playing brick breaker! So it was all well and dandy with my new found love. BBM was great, I had all my friends who were on BBM and even friends of friends whom I'd only met once, I suppose just because I could really, and it'd never cost anything to talk to them!.
After a couple months usage of the phone I noticed it was starting to get very slow, and the response time when I would open something would be slower than before which disappointed me a little, but not enough to hate Blackberry. After having the phone for half a year the middle button that was used to navigate everything! Decided to break and only work occasionally, so I literally had a phone that I could only answer calls on. Luckily I had insurance so I sent it back and after a week or so, I had a new one sent to me. A couple months later (month 8 of the contract) The button decided to break again! I'm not a clumsy person so I wouldn't be dropping it every other day, and even if I was I had a silicone case to protect it a bit. So sure enough, I sent it back and got a new one, which finally lasted until the end of my 12 month contract. Also I've had a couple of friends complain about the same problem of the main middle button deciding to stop working!
I also noticed that blackberry app world was pretty useless, even with the massive Blackberry fan base, not many apps were on there that were of any use to me. I think the best one I had was Hangman because brick breaker got extremely boring!
Overall though my experience with the Blackberry 9360 was not that enjoyable. I was on my third phone having two of them break due to the same reason, the sluggish performance that appeared after a few months use. The pretty much useless Blackberry app world. The only decent thing I liked about it really was BBM but apart from that this phone is nothing special.
