When I first (and last!) used these, I couldn't believe such a bad product comes from a big brand like Veet. I used to use wax strips from Boots before (I don't think they make them anymore, shame) and they worked quite well - I thought those leave some annoying wax behind, but boy was I unexperienced.
The Veet wax strips simply leave ALL their gooey wax on your face when you pull them. You might get lucky at times and find a wax strip that doesn't do that, but you'll be engulfed in wax by then. After using a few of them, I did manage to pull that hair off, but I wouldn't go through that disgusting experience ever again. Maybe I have a faulty pack, but I still wouldn't buy another one to compare!
When you do manage to pull hair out, it's really painful (worse than the strips I had before) and there's the normal redness. They have those oily wipes - probably trying to make up for the bad quality of their wax strips, I don't know - and they work nicely in taking away all that wax.
Overall, I'm just utterly disappointed and in need of different wax strips.
I bought this when looking for the Exaggerate Rimmel Eyeliner, and until I opened it at home I didn't notice my silly mistake - but how happy I am I made it!
I love this eyeliner and use it everyday. The brush is really really thin, and at first I found it really hard to use, but got used after some time. The really thin line you get with it is indeed very glamorous and classy, helping you with a discrete-make up look that's just lovely. If you want to go thicker/get more bold, you can use a different brush (I do that sometimes) - the eyeliner still looks great even when thicker.
I also love how it can last all day (unlike my last one...), if you're not touching/smudging it with your hands - I do that accidentally sometimes. It doesn't smudge/go away fast that way either, but it's in no way water-proof and humidity will indeed make it run.
It feels pretty good on your skin, although sometimes I feel my eyes pretty heavy (especially when the line is thicker) - but I guess that's mostly normal.
Overall, I really like it, I can try out a lot of styles with it and I will buy it again for sure.
I bought these speakers very recently, as my extremely old ones stopped working properly and I dedcided I need to hear my music properly.
I use them only for my desktop PC computer - so I got to test them on a variety of sounds, from music to films and video games. The sound comes out crisp and clear and it's clearly an improvement for me, the music sounds fantastic and so do the films. I was a bit scared when I noticed they're so small, but the sound is really not a problem.
Well, there might be one thing - I don't think they can go very loud, as my old speakers could go a lot louder than these ones but with a lot of 'noise' too. However, unless you want to throw a party and only have these small speakers for the music, you won't notice it. I think the volume is great for every-day listening.
I also like their simple design, and being so small they take very little space on my desk and for some reason, I find them really cute. I got them in a great bargain at £4 (£8 with the delivery) so I'm extremely pleased with them. I just hope they'll last!
I didn't really use blush before buying this, as I never considered it a very important part when doing my make-up - so it was all new and rosy to me.
The MUA blusher is very cheap (I got mine for only £1!) and it's really not bad quality for its price in terms of texture and look. It gives my cheeks a really nice colour and accentuates all the right features, which I really adore.
It also feels very good on the skin and you don't feel all 'caked up' as it might happen with other similar products. It doesn't have any strong fragrance, but a very nice and vague smell.
However, the blusher doesn't exactly last long. I didn't really manage to measure its 'lifetime' on cheeks, but it's never on my face when I get back home and sometimes I'm really not out for more than two hours. I'm sure that, due to its place on the face it's very easy to be smudged away in the mean time, but it always looks like it had never been there in the first place! So, I can't help but think it's not very resistant, but for £1 it's quite understandable.
Overall, I like the colour it adds to my face before leaving the house, and whatever happens to it afterwards - well, I'm not there to see!
My relationship with my BlackBerry started a year ago or so, and I quite liked it so far. I'm not a big phone user, therefore BB meets all my needs and even more.
My favourite thing about it is the e-mail receiving system, that's always very useful when I'm not around a computer and keeps me updated throughout the day. Sometimes it even receives the emails faster than the computer, so the service is really fast if your network provides decent internet (and I can't say mine really does, so I'm sure it can be even better!)
Another thing I really like about the BlackBerry is that I don't need an Ipod/mp3 because I can always listen to music on it and it stores all my music collection with no problem whatsoever. However, there's one very frustrating thing about listening to music on BB (and about doing anything else that involves using it for too long) - the battery life is absolutely terrible! I can't remember if it was like this from the start, or it just went downwards more recently - but listening to music for too long will result in an empty battery. If you're an avid phone user, I don't think the battery lasts longer than a day!
I don't use the phone as much, so it lasts up to 2-3 days for me sometimes, but whenever I have more activity on it, the battery just lets me down immediately.
There are a lot of fun Apps on Blackberry App World, although I haven't tried many - the Twitter/Facebook apps are really good, there are some mildly-entertaining games and no themes that I've liked so far. A lot of teens use BBM (BlackBerry Messenger, taking a wild guess) which probably saves you from texting and it's for free as long as you have internet.
The phone's camera is a joke and should only be used in case of emergency, maybe if you see a rare species of animal/plant and there's nothing better around to take pictures of it. On a more serious note, the pictures are very low quality, but I have been in this kind of 'emergency' cases and it was better than nothing, but I would not recommend it as a general camera. I think it can film too, but I really wouldn't try that.
I really like the QWERTY keyboard myself and it helps me write a lot faster than I'd normally do, so that's a plus. Also, personally I love the 'Notes' section, because I sometimes come up with good (writing) ideas at times when my phone is the only thing I could write on, so I have a lot of good stuff in there. I'm sure I'm a 'special' case, but this can come in useful in a lot of ways, I suppose.
Overall, it's an okay phone and since I use it more as a watch throughout the day, it meets enough requirements for me - but it's nothing fantastic.
I've bought this camera years ago - it might be as long as four, as far as I can remember, and it never disappointed me in the time I've used it. It has a sleek, lightweight design which means you can take it in your purse as easily as in a camera case/bag.
It has a lot of different modes, for when it's darker, for when it's really sunny, for snow etc. - and the perfect one for normal situations, marked with green. This usually helps getting your pictures crystal clear, and if they're not it's probably the bad-lighting or shaky hands/movement (or, as it did happen to me quite some times, I'm not on the green mode but some random, different one that doesn't help me). The little 'wheel' can be switched accidentally sometimes, and I advise being careful with its position, as this can make the difference between a good photo and a bad photo.
The battery life is kind of average - it can last a lot if you don't take too many pictures/too often, but if you do, it goes away quite fast.
I use the camera for all possible things - when travelling, when taking vanity mirror pictures (!) and also when I feel more artistic. I remember wanting to buy a bigger, more professional camera for my passion towards photography, but then I realized I don't need one! The Sony camera takes very beautiful and clear pictures and for its price it's simply brilliant.
I think I bought this after watching a slightly unsure review on youtube, of someone who used this mousse in combination with another one - and her hair was indeed BIG!
Since I'm always in a quest of making my hair look bigger, I went on and gave the Pantene mousse a try, especially as it is low-price compared to other volume mousses I've seen in Boots and Superdrug.
It gives my hair a little boost and shine when I apply it every morning, and in the happy cases it lasts for the 7 hours I'm out and it gives the hair a nice fragrance of freshness. However, as my hair is naturally very straight, the volume is not as obvious as it might be on different types of hair - but maybe the fact that it gives some volume even to MY hair says something!
However, the indications say to apply it on damp hair - I'd warn against this, as I did this once and my hair turned out sticky and really horrible (after just washing it!). It might be just my hair, but I'd really not do this again.
Overall, it's a good product, but doesn't do anything extraordinary to the hair.
I received this Toshiba laptop as a gift, reason why I don't use it as often as other users might, because I also have my main desktop computer. However, I like to take this laptop with me when traveling because it's very light weight and easy to handle.
It always worked fast for me, it takes seconds to turn on and it never froze as I never had this kind of issues with it. It was very easy to set up (only had to turn it on, anyone can do it) and it came with Windows 7! I only used it for activities like internet browsing, IM-ing, writing in MS Word and listening to music, so I cannot guarantee the same quality for movies, video games etc.
The design is black, very simple and elegant, which I liked - however, I'm not very pleased with the mouse which is quite hard to use at times, and I'm someone who's quite good with laptop mouses, so I assume someone who finds them difficult in general will find this one very hard to use.
The battery life is average and it lasts around two hours after fully charging it, although this varies depending on how much you're using the laptop and what for. The webcam is very low quality and I never used it (just tested it, looks pretty bad).
Overall, I'm very pleased with the laptop and I take it everywhere with me. It fits people who only want to check their email or do some work in MS Word perfectly, and it also comes with Microsoft Office installed. It's very good for a low-price laptop.
I bought the Sony headphones, after using smaller and lower quality headphones for a long time, and boy could I really feel the difference! The Sony headphones are astounding - they're extremely comfortable to wear and adjust easily - and the sound they deliver it's amazing.
Because of their large design, they block any other sound in the room and you can really hear the music throughoutly and clearly. They're perfect for listening to music and I believe even the best of it would sound fantastic in these headphones, but also watching movies works great with them.
The wire they come with is very long, and this can be very good in some cases (and for some people) but for me it's a little annoying, as it always gets caught in my chair etc. They also don't have a microphone and can only be used as headphones.
I didn't get around traveling with them, but I think I'd go for a lighter choice, as they're quite big and they would take up some space - also, I'd be a little scared not to break them, even if they're highly resistant.
I can guarantee they're very well made, as I dropped them countless times and they still work as good as new, so kudos for the accident-proof case, they don't even have a scratch. I've had the headphones for more than 6 months new and they look and function as well as new. Great product.
I bought this product in my endless search for something that would give me nice curls, and in a way, I wasn't disappointed. The curling wand gives you beautiful, defined curls (especially at higher temperatures) and it's really easy to use. It has a slightly conical shape, and after it heats up you have to wrap your hair around it - which gives you some freedom to style it in different ways. I also found the heat-proof glove to be very helpful, as I wouldn't recommend using the curling wand without it on.
Granted, the curls don't look like roller curls and don't last very long, but they would look beautiful for one evening or so. It doesn't work very greatly on shorter hair - I have shoulder-length hair and the curls I get are not as defined as I'd like them to be - but my friend with longer hair also used it, and the curls looked really lovely.
Overall, the Babyliss Curling Wand is a satisfactory product that meets its expectations.
