I went to reading festival 2011 and I must admit speaking as someone who usually only does download festival I was quite impressed, the line up was fantastic, they had all the rock acts on one day which was great because I didn't have to sit through a bunch of acts I didn't like. Likewise if people don't like rock music they dont have to sit through anything they don't like. The main acts I went to see was 30 seconds to mars and my chemical romance, who both put on the best performance I have ever seen. The ticket prices were far cheaper than what I would have paid to see them both seperately!
There were however a few downfalls to the location. The area was not really ready for rain, I know some people didn't mind it but walking through the camping site seeing all that mud I can imagine the tents can't have stayed up all too well. The toilet facilities were disgusting aswell. I have been to many festivals and I can safely say this was the worst for location. Trying to find your way in and out was nitemare too, not very well laid out at all.
There was a huge variety of food stalls and merchandise available though and the security were mostly all friendly unlike some other places iv seen.
On the whole I probably would not go again unless it was an act I absolutely had to see. Simply due to the layout. I only went because I had waited 9 years to see MCR! Performances were fantastic though and made the day!
Unfortunately I brought the iPad 2 just a few months ago so I had to make another purchase to get the iPad 3! They didnt leave a great gap. I also think the updates are things that should have been on number 2.
Anyway as a product in itself without comparing it to the others. It's got a fantastic display screen. And the speed is so amazing. You can flick from one app or program to another without having to wait. Since the update of IOS 5 these features make the iPad 3 even better. Battery life is ok, another false promise to be honest, no apple product lasts as long as it says on the box. But it's not a huge deal. It will be interesting to see how the app developers use the new features and speed to their advantage.
On top of everything the price is fairly reasonable. Although I think 3G should be built into all iPads, not have to pay an en extra £100 for it aswell as a web contract. It also has a fantastic new feature of voice recognition which works really well. I thought it would be tacky and cheap and not work like all the others. Bt it works very well! A couple of odd moments with it, but it's a fantastic buy overall
The iPhone 3G it has to be said isn't one of apples best products. To start with there were so many problems from small glitches to major battery drains. It has the same basic principles of all apple products, good camera, apps and iTunes store access, you can use it as an iPod which all sounds great, but the main problem I have faced is that you can't do those things at all! If you try to do anything remotely interesting your iPhones battery will drain!
On top of this it also crashes a lot, iv never had to reset an apple device so much! On top of all this like all apple products now the new ones are out apple don't really care much for these older products so there are no fixes or updates! If I were you I would just save up the little bit extra and get the newer iPhones, the amount you spend in repairs and stuff isn't worth the agro.
Usually when a band releases their first album, it's not particularly great, but my chemical romance are an exception, for a first album this was amazing, it has many brilliant songs.
To some of the newer fans (not a dig) it sounds way off their usual sound, but the brilliant thing about this band is they don't just have one sound. They seem to change it up in each album they do. This particular album was much more heavier than their recent danger days album, the lyrics to many of the songs are intense and very deep. This album just shows the on going passion. It's very interesting to listen to this album so many years later and see that they have never lost the fire they have. I strongly recommend demolition lovers, soft song to start but very heavy towards the end. By now it's very cheap to get hold of so I strongly recommend buying this if your an mcr fan as its very interesting to see how far they have come without losing the initial spark!
I went to almeria a few years ago and I am soon happy to be going back again! My first experience though, the second I got off the plane (flying from uk) the heat hit me, felt like walking into a greenhouse, you do get used to the heat very quickly though so that's not an issue. The airport is small and not very populated. Now I stayed in a friends house in a town called oria, it was right up in one of the many mountains of Almeria. The place itself is very empty many areas where it's just desert and mountains! There are many places you can visit, there's many beaches nearby and a lovely attraction known as mini Hollywood! I would strongly suggest this place, lovely family place all you ca eat buffets, live shows and an entire zoo attached to it. All the locals are friendly and general attractions are good. There's no lack of restaurants and cafe's either! Every few miles I saw little cafes. We ate at several restaraunts too, all of which had fantastic service. Only down side which is not something that can be changed is not very many places speak English as well, there are a few tourist attractions where they do, but otherwise it helps to know someone who does. In some places you may also have to be careful of tap water, I know we had to collect it from a fountain. You can bath in it but it's not safe to drink. It's a lovely experience though and I prefer mountain spring water fresh and without having to pay for it in a bottle! Overall it's a lovely quiet holiday location for families and even singles, I'm sure there's plenty of clubs too but I never visited any so I can't comment on those.
I had never tried mountain dew till recently, I picked mine up in asda. Has a fantastically bright yellow bottle though which my baby brother still loves playing with once im finished with it. As far as the energy side of things, it's not very strong, it has hardly any energy in it at all and it tastes nothing like your average energy drink. If I had to describe the taste I'd say it actually taste like sprite, maybe with a tiny bit more sugar. It's quite refreshing, when put in the fridge for a while, but it's it a drink that tastes too great when it loses it's fizz. The price however for an "energy drink" is fairly cheap. I'd pay more for a small bottle of cola or sprite actually so it's nice and cheap. Overall a great cheap refreshing party drink for the summer BBQ's this year. And the kids can play with the bottle!
So many people complain about not getting really hyper, it's like any caffeine product, if your more sensitive to caffeine it will work a treat. There are however cheaper energy drinks out there where you get more in the can. It's a good idea and I suppose it was one of the first energy drinks but that's all I'd recommend it for, they really need to take their product a step further. Since they are first they should be the best in my opinion, they should bring out bigger cans or lower the price. Taste is very typical to all energy drinks. Like all energy drinks if it works for you it works to the extreme leaving you on a huge high, and in the end giving you major crash, certainly will lift your spririts. It may take you a few cans to reach your target though if your body is used to caffeine! I do think you can find better products elsewhere though.
So iv owned this laptop a while now. I got it when I was 18, it originally broke through my own fault (an accident) however once it was repaired and sorted, due to such high graphics the graphics card broke down.
It worked a treat fast running, excellent, did everything it said on the box. However like I said the graphics are so amazingly high that the laptop itself cannot handle it. Battery life like most laptops lasted a while to start with but towards the end broke down a bit. However good general life. I loved the game centre that was built into it. The camera was fantastic quality too, and as I remember the sound was very good quality too. Both microphone and speakers were great. The you cam built into this particular laptop was a fantastic feature feature which with the repair I unfortunately lost. But it was great for recording videos and taking picture. Would have been cooler to have a camera the other side too so you can take pictures or webcam and show people the other side.
The only other real issue I found was it got very hot very quickly it didn't seem to have powerful enough fans for what it does.
All in all though a great little laptop for watching movies, making movies and just general use! A definite must buy, I will be getting it repaired and using it again for a long time to come!
I recently brought a different set of headphones in the ibeats range and they broke so I had to exchange them for another pair they had in stock. So I ended up with these by accident and thought I'd let you know my review of them. I think they are poorly designed for a start the triangle shape makes it painful for some listeners, as it happens I just changed to a smaller ear bud and it seemed to fit ok. I like the idea of the ribbon wire, they do not tangle as easily. I also like the L-shape connector as I use these in my iPad very often resting the wire on the arm chair or something. Which would normally break the connector, so this is great. It has also got a built in mic/control. The mic is perfect. Crystal clear audio, and very easy to use. It's handy having a control for touch screen devices.
So the sound itself is great once you get the fit perfectly snug. Nice deep bass, and it sounds great if you ask me. However, they do leak sound out quite a lot, so I have to have them low down if I'm in public. I paid £79 originally for these headphones, I do think it's a bit too pricey, your just paying for the name really.
Unfortunately my iPod touch broke down after just a year of use. However when I did have it it was fairly great, the battery did last a long time. The apps were great for it. I didn't like the fact it didn't have a built in mic, or a loud speaker feature, there was no 3G option. The only reason I brought it back then was because it was new and cool looking plus the closest thing to an iPhone I could have! These days though the iPod touches are so much like iPhones, all barring the phone calls feature, that I wouldn't bother buying these old ipod touches, this 8gb one I had did not hold very many songs and apps together, I was constantly having to sacrafice one item for another. If your looking for a cheap old school version get this, if your looking for qualiy and long lasting, just don't buy it. It might be ok if your just using it for songs, but bare in mind there's no speaker, camera or mic!
So I got my brand new iPad 2 as. A 21st birthday present, arrived from apple almost a week earlier than predicted so that was great. I plugged it into my laptop done the usual upgrades you would expect it to do. It works a treat, a lot of people were telling me not to get it but I decided to try for myself. I have so far had no technical faults, certainly nothing a quick upgrade or on/off didn't fix.
There have been a few things I am not too impressed about. When I first tried to download old apps that I had from my iPod touch, they would only show up as an iPhone sized screen, I didn't realise there is a button that says 2x to make it full screen, however when you do this with iPhone apps they go a bit blurry, they are perfectly fine to use still just a bit off picture.
Another problem I noticed is you cannot install flash player, which is very annoying for some sites! I think if apple allowed flash this would be great. I also think they should allow some kind of word or something built in (apart from the cheap looking notes. Also a way to upload to regular sites would be nice.
The wifi is great but I do regret not getting 3G sometimes, however paying an additional £100 does not seem worth it in my opinion! Considering I'd be on the go and the battery does not last 10 hours as mentioned, infect when I'm doing a few bits at a time I'm using my battery in 2 hours flat.
Overall great product definatly buy it, the sounds, the graphics and everything are great, the two built in cameras are awesome! But I think you may need to use it along side a laptop sometimes.
