As I'm sure a lot of us do, I remember having these Matey bubble baths as a child. The princess one was definitely my favourite!
It's basically bubble bath in a shaped bottle to look like a person, in this case a sailor! You use the bubble bath but can then play with the bottle in the bath also (at least that's what I used to do!)
They sell for usually around the £2 mark in most supermarkets.
The fancy, child friendly bottle is what sells it, kids see the characters and just have to have it! There are a few characters in the Matey range to choose from I believe.
My kids really like it however are not allowed to use the actual product very often due to my son's sensitive skin. It is not a great product for sensitive skin, it seems to dry my son's skin out quite a bit. They love playing with the bottles though none the less.
The actual product is a clear bubble, pour a generous amount into your running bath for it to create a kiddies bubble bath. I'm not really a fan. I like a strong fragrance, so my children come out of the bath smelling of the product used, you don't really get that with Matey at all. The liquid is quite thin and pours out quickly. The bubbles created also do not last long in the bath at all and dissolve quickly resulting in my children asking for more bubbles!
As fun as the actual brand is, I feel that the real product is cheap and not worth the money.
I would avoid and buy a better quality products, however my children would disagree!
When it comes to bath and shower products I feel like I've tried them all, especially children's ones as my son has sensitive skin issues. I have tried loads to find one that doesn't affect him too much.
I usually find that any products that don't make his skin flare up don't tend to smell as nice as some of the 'harsher' products. I also feel as if they don't always clean as well. That's probably just me but I feel like you want to smell nice after a bath, sensitive skin or not!
That is why I absolutely love this Sanex kids bubble bath and wash. It is amazing stuff!
It is lovely and gentle on my little boy's skin and doesn't dry him out at all. It is lovely and creamy looking and feeling, not thin and cheap feeling like some other brands you can get.
A tiny bit lathers up really well to lots of thick, moisturising foamy bubbles! You only need to use a tiny bit as a wash and it covers him really nicely.
You can also use it as a bubble bath as it doubles up as both! Just pour a small amount into running water of the bath and it instantly creates a bath full of lovely smelling bubbles!!
I love how clean my children feel after using it, and I really love the fragrance it has, it's not flowery or fruity like some children's bath products smell, it smells clean and fresh!
My only issue with this product is the price it is £3.50 ish for one bottle! They are quite large bottles, 500ml and as you only need a small amount at a time it does work out pretty good value, it just seems quite highly priced when next to other children's bath products on the shop shelves!
However it is currently on offer in Asda for two for £4 which is a much better price! I normally stock up when Asda have a three for £5 offer on!
I definitely definitely 100% recommend for your little ones and I love to use it too!!
I love the Alberto Balsam range. I think their products are always great quality at a really good bargain price!
They usually cost £1 a bottle or sometimes you can get even better offers, sometimes two for £1 in the pound shops or quite often 4 for £3.
I really like the quality with this shampoo (and the whole range of Alberto Balsam). The shampoo squeezes out nicely at just the right thickness, it's not too thick and gloopy but also isn't runny and too thin like a lot of cheap shampoo's.
It lathers up really nicely and quickly to a thick foam. You only need a very small amount, a little goes a long way, after rubbing a small amount into your hair it is soon covered in lots of foamy bubbles! I have very thick and long hair but a teeny bit covers really well.
I am not too sure about the smell of this one. It is not an awful smell however I am not really a fan. It is quite sweet and sickly and personally that's not what I want from a shampoo.
I find that with this particular scent (strawberries and cream) it is quite a 'heavy' smell and just a bit much. It is slightly disappointing as I usually find all the Alberto Balsam shampoo's light and refreshing this one is just not to my liking.
My dislike may just be me though as my daughter loves it and asks for it all the time so will not be wasted in my house!
I have two cats, they have dry food down at all times and then every now and then they get wet food as a bit of a treat, so I occasionally stock up on a few of these pouches so that they have some available.
I really like how they are only 26 p for 1 pouch, I find that it is quite an inexpensive way to treat our little cats and they really do enjoy it!
I like that they come in a pouch, they pouches are easily torn open and the contents can then be easily squeezed out into their cat bowls. This is great as there is no mess or clean up involved. My children also really like to be involved in feeding and treating the pets so it is really good for them as it is so easy for them to be able help!
There is a whole range available from Tesco with all different flavours, I tend to stick to the chicken flavour when I can. My cats enjoy all the flavours however I do not like how any of the fishy flavours have quite a strong smell and I can't really deal with that in my house! The chicken one seems to have a milder smell!
There is 100 grams in each pouch. I find that one pouch can easily be halved between my two greedy moggies meaning that each pouch is extremely good value!
I definitely recommend these wet food pouches for the kitties in your life! Tasty for your cat and easy on the purse strings for you!
I am in no way a brand snob when it comes to food shopping and I am more than willing to try out the 'budget range' to see how they compare to the big brands in the hope of saving a few pennies here and there. Generally speaking I tend to find that the 'budget' options are just as good as the bigger brands at a fraction of the price. However there are always exceptions!
I decided to give this Smart Price curry sauce a try when I saw it in Asda for only 20 p! Can't hurt to try for 20p can it?! Especially when all the big brands are usually around £1.70 or £1 if on offer. 20 p seemed like an absolute bargain!!
It isn't even worth the 20 pence in all honesty! This stuff is just revolting. It actually tastes so cheap and nasty. At first glance it doesn't look too bad, it is an orangey yellow colour, normal jar of curry kind of colour, what you would expect. However then looking at it properly it is also slightly grainy and not smooth like you would expect. You can taste the salt in it from the first taste so I imagine it is packed out with the stuff!!
I will continue to buy cheaper supermarket own labels rather than the big brands but this is not one I will ever buy again.
I am all for saving money where you can and going for the cheaper labels where ever possible, but with this one do yourself a favour, save yourself 20p and do not buy this cooking sauce!
When it comes to shower gel I can't really say that I am particularly brand or product loyal. I get whatever is on offer at the time or whatever catches my eye. My husband however always asks me to pick him up some Original Source shower gel when I go shopping. It is one he goes back to every time.
And to be honest I can see why!
I have tried lots and lots of different shower gels as, like I said, I am always changing around, and I have to say Original Source is one of the best. It just feels like really great quality in general.
It is quite thick for a start, not like some of the cheaper shower products you can get that are quite runny and don't seem to have much substance. Original Source gives you a good dollop after you squeeze a bit out! It is thick and lathers up really well. It produces quite thick foamy bubbles.
I also like how a little bit of this stuff goes quite a long way. As it foams up so well it spreads and just a little bit of it manages to cover and cleanse your whole body pretty much.
The best thing about Original source though is the smell and the fragrances available in the range. They have loads of varieties available, the most famous I think being the tea tree one.
The great thing about Original Source fragrances is that they are so strong and really take over the whole bathroom whilst being used! They are amazing!
I have to say that there are a couple that I am really not taken with the scent, for example the lemon and tea tree one, however as a whole Original Source have got it right!
Using these products with such powerful scents really wakes you up and leaves you feeling completely refreshed! The scents lasts well on your skin after shower too!
Original Source is often on offer for a £1 a bottle, although I have seen it being sold for much more! Get it when it's a pound and I definitely recommend getting some!

My daughter's hair gets really tangled, every morning it is a nightmare to brush her hair and she cries her eyes out every day! We started using a de-tangling spray which helped immensely helped however was out of stock last time we went shopping. I looked for an alternative and this one caught my eye, it was £2.
I liked the look of it because it seemed to state is does the same job as her usual brand and it also said it was a head lice repellent. Excellent little extra with her starting school!
Sophie liked it because it had a princess on the front. Looked like this was going to be a winner!
We tried it out the next day, it says you can use on wet or dry hair, We did it on dry.
My daughter's and I had the same first reaction, the smell!!!
To be totally honest it stinks!! The only way I can think to describe it is a mixture between furniture polish and cat wee! Seriously!!
It didn't seem to help with any of the de - tangling. We might as well have just used a little squirt of water, in fact it wasn't even that good!
It also left her hair with a slight greasy look too. We were not impressed to say the least.
I thought maybe it was because we used it on dry hair, we attempted again on wet hair but had the same results.
Would not recommend!!
Cradle cap is a very common thing in babies. It is like extreme dandruff in a way but it builds up instead of flaking out leaving a bit of a scaley, scabby scalp.
Both my babies had cradle cap and I was advised to use this, dentinox cradle cap treatment shampoo.
It varies a lot in price from around £1 to about £2.50! It is currently on offer in Boots for £1.39 but is £2.15 in Tesco at the minute!
It comes in a green box and then inside the box is the bottle. It is just a plain - ish white bottle with a flip cap.
The actual product just looks like slightly thick water! It is clear and quite runny. You just use it like normal shampoo however it does not seem to lather like normal shampoo very well and you have to be careful putting it straight on your baby's head as it is so runny it would just run straight off.
If I'm honest I had quite high hopes for this products and thought it would act like a miracle cure.... I was pretty disappointed!
I used it regularly for a couple of weeks and noticed no difference at all and I wouldn't say that either of my babies had extreme cradle cap but it was noticeable enough so expected some difference!
My advice would be to save your money and have a google as there are lots of much more effective natural methods out there to try that worked far far better for us!

One of my absolute favourite smells is coconut. I love it so much, it's such a nice smell, that's relaxing and also reminds me of summer.
When I saw this coconut kiss shower gel in the pound shop I had to get some and give it a try!
It is made by Radox and I usually like products by them anyway.
It is a white bottle with a pretty design which goes well with the scent of the shower creme. I like the style of the bottle too, I much much prefer bottles like this that have the cap on the bottom so it is much easier when coming to the end of the product.
The only minus is that the bottle is not clear so you can not easily see when you a running low, but that's just a minor criticism!
As soon as you open the cap you get a gorgeous burst of the coconut scent. It really is lovely. The shower creme is really creamy and quite luxurious feeling. A little goes quite a long way and little easily covers your body, even though I tend to use more purely because it smells so nice!
It is thick and creamy and really helps to make your skin feel well moisturised after using this product.
The lovely scent is great as it faintly stays on your skin for quite a while after your shower, I love this as it makes you feel extra clean and fresh!
I would definitely recommend this shower creme, especially at just £1! However watch out for price changes as I have seen it in Tesco £2. Double the price! Grab it when you see it for just a £1!

I was just writing my shopping list when my husband informs me that he has run out of shower gel and can I get him some? He requests some kind of Original Source.... hmmm, I'll get whatever is on offer I thought!
When I got into Tesco I found that it actually was on offer! It was only £1 for a bottle of Original Source, but which one to get?! There are lots of different varieties!
He normally gets the tea tree one but I decided to mix it up a bit and go for something a little different, I decided on Tea tree and lemon instead!
I like the bottle, it has bold packaging and labelling but what I really like it how the cap it at the bottom and is also the stand. It means that when you are getting to the end of the product it is still fairly easy to squeeze it out!
Now the shower gel is actually quite thick, giving it a bit of a squeeze you get a little glug of it and it seems to lather up really well. You get quite a thick, foamy lather from it which I like, it feels like good quality. Also a little bit goes quite a long way and you can cover most of your body in just a little amount so it really does seem to be good value.
The smell is what I really have issues with. The lemon scent is quite over powering and doesn't seem to be a nice lemon smell. I'm not sure what but there's something not quite right about the lemon scent, it's very artificial smelling.
The tea tree part, well... what tea tree?! I can't really smell any tea tree in it, it should really just be called lemon!
You do feel really refreshed and clean afterwards so I would definitely try other Original Source shower gels but would give this one a miss!

I saw these bath crayons on special offer in the Early Learning Centre for only £2. It was the first I had seen of such a product and thought they looked like fun! I grabbed a pack and took it to the tills.
Bath crayons are crayons that you can use to draw on the bath, tiles or even yourself and they just wipe off when you're done.
When we got home my children couldn't wait to try them out.
I ran them a bath and they asked for them right away. We all had a little play and I have to admit they were fun!
They come in a good selection of colours, you get ten in a pack.
My first problem with them is the colours. Now my bathroom suite is white, like I assume is probably the most popular colour for bath suites?! I know not all but the majority, yes?! Well the white and yellow (which is very light) do not show up at all really, even on my (dark-ish) grey tiles so I am not convinced it is just because they are light colours, they just do not work as well as the other colours. All the others, however, show up and can be used really well.
We had great fun drawing pictures, writing names, etc which is great as they have the educational aspect. My daughter (4) spent a long time writing all over the tiles any words she could remember how to spell, so great for encouraging writing.
It was only when my two year old started copying and pretending he was writing words too when it suddenly dawned on me. I spend a lot of time telling him he uses his pens and crayons on his paper and nothing else (after an incident of him colouring in my new sofa throws...!).... I have then bought him crayons to draw all over my bathroom! How stupid was I?!
He might not think of the difference and who could blame him for getting himself an ordinary marker pen and drawing all over my bathroom?! What a stupid idea!!
When it came to cleaning up, they all wiped off really easily as they stated they should apart from the red one for some reason. It wiped off easily like the others but seemed to leave a red-ish pink-y mark where it was. Once the children were out of the bath and sorted out, I came back to the bath and sprayed some of my bathroom cleaner on it, gave it a bit of a scrub and it came out no problem, however that is not the point, the package states that they will simply wipe straight off with water but this was not the case for the red one atleast!
These crayons were fun and we all had a good time using them, but I am not sure they are the most sensible item I've ever bought!
Ok ok, I admit it. My name is Becky and I am a chocoholic..... I love the stuff. It's just not great for my diet unfortunately!
One of my absolute favourites is the wispa bar!
They are made by Cadbury's, probably my favourite chocolate brand.
Wispa used to be around years and years ago until Cadbury's decided to take it off the market. I remember it coming back a few years ago after a very popular demand.
Wispa bars are made of the usual standard of Cadbury's delicious chocolate, but the real special thing about Wispa bars is all the bubbles inside!
The outside of the bar is kind of like a chocolate case then inside is filled with little chocolate bubbles, really little, I mean so tiny you can barely see them. You might not be able to see them but they really do make a difference, and I think they are what make the Wispa bars so delicious!
They taste really great, they are as creamy as most Cadbury's chocolate is, but light tasting due to the bubbles. They are easy to eat and not at all 'heavy' tasting.
My favourite way to enjoy a Wispa is straight out of the fridge, cold and hard and you can really taste all the bubbles!
You can buy Wispa bars from nearly all newsagents , supermarkets and anywhere that sells confectionery really. On average they sell for about 70p each but are often on special offer like two for £ 1 or I've sometimes seen three for £ 1 . 20. They are also available in multipacks which are also often on special offer in the shops, sometimes for a pound for a pack of four!
As you have probably gathered from this review, I love Wispa bars and definitely recommend to any chocolate lovers out there!

My children both absolutely love chocolate spread. I do not let them have it too often, but they love having it every now and again as a treat either in a sandwich or on toast or something.
Any way, I am trying really hard to cut back on my spending in my weekly shop and when my two little monkey's asked for chocolate spread I was really shocked at how much a jar of nutella actually cost! It was a ridiculous amount for a little jar of chocolate spread so I looked around to see how much it was for Asda's own brand. Much much cheaper!!
It was 70p for a jar, and according to the list of very similar to nutella's ingredients on the back, it looked just as good!
When spreading it, it spreads really nicely, it is a nice chocolately brown colour and spreads nice and smoothly but is still thick, not at all runny or thin.
But the test is in the taste, right??
My two had it spread on toast as soon as we got the shopping home! They had been waiting for it!
They loved it. I had a sneaky taste and have to say it tastes chocolately good! It is quite sweet but then you expect that when having chocolate spread surely! I would not say it was overly sweet though and not at all bitter like some of the richer chocolate spreads can be.
Overall I think this is a really great chocolate spread, it is a hit with the kids (and me!) and is a bargain price!
I would definitely recommend!

When my two little monkey's were baby monkeys, we seemed to go through every bath product available! I tried out a lot of baby bath seats and this was one of them.
This seat is essentially a bit of moulded plastic with suction grips on the bottom to hold it securely to the bath whilst your baby is using it.
Firstly the suction grips work relatively well, however it is best to stick it down to the bottom of the bath before putting water in the bath.
The plastic seat comes in two colours, white or blue. We had a white one. It is moulded so that it is slightly curved, very very slightly bowl shaped as it curves up at the sides so you can lay baby in, with a raised bit in the middle that goes between babies legs to stop them from sliding off..... well that is the idea!
My first criticism is that it is just moulded plastic. It is extremely basic considering what you pay for it and it is just cold hard plastic to lay your baby on. Yes it will warm up a bit I suppose when you have the warm bath water on it but it is still not, in my opinion, comfortable for baby!
The next problem I have with this seat is that it does not look very tall, however when it is in the bath you would need to have the bath filled very deep for water to cover most of baby while they are using it, which I don't really see the point of having a whole bath filled with warm water just for a teeny tiny baby who probably will not be in it too long anyway!
My last complaint, I should not imagine will be a problem for every body. My two children have always been extremely active even when they were tiny. My son especially, who is two almost three now and still can not stay still for more than a few seconds at a time was a very wriggly baby, even more so when it came to bath time. As soon as the water touched his little feet even as a newborn he wriggled and splashed about loving it. This means that this seat however did not do much good at all. He would thrash around so much and as it is just plastic and slippery he would wriggle off it. Not the most secure, I found that instead of trying to keep him on it, bath times were easier with out it and I just held the back of his head and let him wriggle!!
He did not even get close to the recommended maximum age of eight months!
This seat is by far not one of the best out there and I have tried a lot.
Available on Amazon for around £8
I would not recommend this bath seat. Shop around and get a safer, more comfortable seat for your baby!
Some might say they are boring but my favourite biscuit if definitely the rich tea! I do like fancier biscuits and love chocolate chip cookies but always seem to come back to my nice simple rich tea biscuits!
I always buy the super market basic range however. I refuse to pay more than double the price for Mcvities or any other big brand when the super markets value ones taste just as good, no matter what super market it is. The one I get most regularly though is Sainsbury's but that is purely because I live down the road from them.
The packet is white with orange writing on that just states they are Rich teas.
There is a little red tab you can pull which cuts open the top of the pack easily.
Very basic, but then they are from the BASICS range, so who can complain?! They do not last long enough in my house any way to care about what the packaging is like so I certainly do not want to pay more for some fancy packet that I would still only throw away!
Rich tea biscuits are circular in shape, quite thin and a light brown ish colour.
They have little dots on the top like they have been lightly pricked and have rich tea stamped across the front in the middle.
I really like Rich tea as they seem to have the right amount of sweetness, not too sweet as all, just a hint! They are also crunchy which I really like, I really can not stand soft biscuits!!
Another thing I love about Rich tea biscuits are that they are the perfect biscuit to dunk in your cuppa! I love having a cup of tea and dipping in my rich tea biccie! They are perfect as (as long as you do not over dunk!) they hold their shape really well without going overly soggy!
Perfect! My favourite time to do this is just as I get back in from the school and pre school run as then I don't have to share! I know, I know that is bad, BUT sometimes us Mummy's need something just for us!! In my case that is a cuppa and rich tea biscuit!!
The best thing about my favourite biscuit is how cheap they are! At 25 pence for 300 grams you can not really complain. You get a lot if biscuits in that too!
My favourite, I definitely recommend!
