I think golden retrievers are the best dogs ever ,we brought our golden retriever from a breeder when she was eight weeks old. She gave us the best seven years of our lives, it was so sad to lose her to cancer she was part of our family not just a dog.
We could trust her so much with anything or anyone. And right up till the last few weeks she would run around like a puppy.
When we went to see her for the first time she was outside in a shed with her mother and her sister it was evening time so they brought them in to see us I knew which one I wanted straight away she came running up to me and started to chew on my coat, her mum was such a lovely dog with such a nice temperament we just knew we was doing the right thing.
We was allowed to take her home that day Driving home in the car my two daughters asked if they could have her in the back it was as if she could understand them she scrambled through the seats to get to them.
That night she wouldn't settle so we gave her one of our fluffy toys she calmed down straight away and went to sleep.
Training her was so easy the first thing we taught her was the command sit, we only needed to show her a few times and she soon remembered and started to do it every time we asked her. After that we taught her to stay we told he to this was needed because if she could get to the door when the children went out to school she would chase them up the road and think she could play chase in the street. It wasn't long before we could leave our door open and she would just sit and watch them, until they got to the gate and gave the command for her to come to them.
Toilet training her was easy, we thought this would be a bit harder than normal because she had been brought up in a shed, we only had a couple of accidents. She loved it when we got up to let her out at about four in the morning she would run around the garden thinking we would go out to play. As she got older we trained her to toilet in one small place in the garden making it nicer for the children and easier for us to clean up.
We decided she could sleep downstairs to my daughters disgust, they would call her up when we wasn't looking she knew she wasn't meant to be upstairs, so when we went to find her she would be hid in with the soft toys she wouldn't move until we were out of the room.
She loved going out and so much loved her car rides with us, she didn't like it when we put her in the back and used to try to jump over the seats so she could sit with the children this was easy to sort out there are lots of things you can buy to separate them in the back.
Going to the beach was her favourite she loved to swim and would spend hours in and out of the water.
Everybody loved her, if you asked the children about her they wouldn't talk about her as if she was a dog they would talk about her as if she was a sister. They used to dress her up in cloths then take pictures of her she. This didn't bother her at all in fact she rather enjoyed it she would run around wagging her tail she was so happy. Golden retrievers are a best friend for life.
Feeding her was never a problem she liked most foods and would eat as much as we gave her, we had to watch the amount of food we gave her and the children gave her because it is so easy for a dog to put on a lot of weight.
She got on very well with any animal even our bird, when our cat was just a kitten she was so good with him she would play with him so gentle and just touch him with her nose.
Whenever we felt upset or ill she would know and come up to us and put her head on our lap and look at us with those big eyes to try her best to make us better.
Whenever we returned home she would greet us at the door with a toy, the funny thing was she would even great us with a toy if she had been out with us, she would run in first a grab a toy so she could greet us.
She wasn't always perfect when she was very young she chewed our wall and dug holes all around our garden, we would go out to fill the holes in and she would dig us another, she even pulled an apple tree up that was planted the year before. But as she got older she became the most perfect dog anyone could ever want.
Golden retrievers do moult a lot I found myself hovering twice a day in the summer months also our cloths were always covered in her hair but that is the only thing I would say was a disadvantage to getting a golden retriever rather than a low shedding dog.
Golden retrievers are very trusting loyal dogs they just want to make you happy trying to learn all the new commands and tricks you teach them.
Our children were still quite young when we brought her so we did a lot of research on the best dog to get with children, I know we made the right decision, and there wasn't another dog that could have been better for our family.
I would recommend anyone to get a golden retriever if they are at home most of the day and have time to take it out and play they do love to spend time with you and get sad if they are left on their own for too long.
The worst bit is when they pass away you haven't got that friend to greet you in the morning and when you arrive home it is so hard, because they become part of the family, everyone's best friend.
We all miss her so much.
To buy a puppy you should expect to pay about £600 pounds, you could get one for around £400 but the parents may not have been health tested. A common problem with these dogs is hip dysplasia; if the parents have been tested and are fine then your puppy has a much better chance. Ask the breeder to see the paper work to say the test results.
These dogs are rather large so feeding one will cost about seven pounds each week. a girl dog can grow up to 56cm and weigh 32 kg and a boy 61cm and 34 kg.
The average life of a golden retriever is about ten years but they can live up to about 16, although the most common death of one is cancer, I lost mine at only 7 years. They can also suffer from skin problems, mine spent many months with a cone on her head that the vet gave us because she used to scratch her face so much.
The temperament of this breed is probably the best, they get on so well with everyone and anyone I would not buy one of these if you want a guard dog they want to be friends with everyone.
I decided to buy a Samsung nc10 because the battery life was good seven hours was perfect for me.
This little netbook is so good it has everything i could need apart from a cd or dvd drive, you have to buy a usb external dvd drive if you need to use cds or dvds.
It has xp installed which I find so much easier to use and also comes with discs if you need to reinstall at any point.
The screen is 10.1 inches not to small but a lot smaller than a laptop, so much easier to carry around.
The hard drive is 160GB even I will have trouble filling that up and it has 1GB memory.
Also it has a web cam built in above the screen and a microphone built in. The Bluetooth i found useful for sending music to my phone, I also managed to connect a Bluetooth headset but the quality of the sound wasn't very good.
Having more than one usb port was also a great future meaning if I wanted to connect a mouse and an external dvd drive at the same time I could.
I love the keyboard the keys are sent out wide enough I can use it to type with, I was rather worried when I brought this that this might be a problem and I would be typing with one finger.
The mouse pad is a lot harder to use than I was hoping it is small and I find myself scrolling the screen up and down when I don't mean to. I'm used to buttons either side of the mouse pad but on this the buttons are underneath this isn't a problem just something I will get used to.
I think this is a good little netbook and I'm pleased I brought it. Some shops are selling these for over three hundred pounds I got this 2 weeks ago for £249 in currys.
I brought rockband in a sale in smyths toys for twenty nine pounds this was a very good deal because I spend ages on the internet and the prices were at least double this in other stores.
Everything is included in the box apart from the game.
It comes with a wireless guitar a wired microphone and wired drums with drum sticks.
To play these you need to buy a game, I read on the internet that rockband and guitar hero games are often not compatible with each other, I was a little worried because there isn't that many games out at the moment and most of the songs we prefer were on guitar hero.
So we decided to take a chance and buy a few guitar hero games to see if they worked, I can tell you that band hero and also guitar hero world tour do work fine with the rockband kit also the wireless microphones from singstar work with this kit. The worst things about this is storing the drums each time you finish playing they do take up a lot of room, also we brought the silence pads for the drums these do help a bit with the noise but not as much as I would have hoped.
The drums do not come with cymbals like some of the newer versions out but this does not affect the games at all, also the drums to rock band only have four pads I think guitar hero has five, but this still does not affect the game at all.
The one I brought even came with a adapter so that you can plug four things into one usb, this is handy on the newer ps3s that only have two usbs meaning up to four people could play at one time.
Blackpool pleasure beach
To go to Blackpool has been my dream for many years, we never seem to go that far up country. But this year was different we were going to Alton towers and decided to take a trip up to Blackpool as well.
We arrived early so parking wasn't a problem we parked in a car park behind the pleasure beach it was seven pounds for all day parking.
Entry to the pleasure beach was thirty pounds each you have to pay for entry even if your not going on any rides but you can get entry for five pounds and you get to go in the maze use the train and see a show.
The queues to the rides wasn't bad compared to places like Alton towers the waits we no longer than 40 minutes each, at Alton towers it is often over two hours in mid July on a weekend.
There was a lot of security there we all had to go through scanners to get in.
We went there because I have always wanted to go on the pepsi big one, but I must say I think the best was infusion, you are sitting with your legs dangling down, this is a must to all roller coaster fans, it is a fast exciting ride with loops.
The pepsi big one was fun but not as scary as infusion, you only have a lap belt this made me feel a bit uncomfortable, it is 235feet high and it feels like it takes so long to get to the top, the ride was fun but not as fun as I thought it would be I had waited so many years to go on this ride.
Avalanche was a fun ride it is like a roller coaster but you are in a bob sleigh and your not on a proper track like on a roller coaster.
Steeplechase I thought was dangerous you are sitting on a horse with a strap around you, up to two people could sit on each horse, the person on the front have something to hold on to but for the person on the back it is as easy. You then race with another horse around a track, the corners are very sharp so it feels like you are going to fall of on each corner.
Iron bru was a fantastic ride it was a roller coaster that went forward then when you get to the end it starts over again but backwards. There was just one thing I didn't like that was the steeps to get up to this ride there was so many, then when the ride is finished you have to go back down all the steps again, I felt a bit dizzy after the ride and hated going back down the steps.
I didn't enjoy the older rides because they seemed to throw you about giving me plenty of bruises wildmouse was the worse.
There were loads of rides for younger children, teacups, carousel, ghost train and loads more.
There were so many places to eat, they had a chip shop selling buckets of chips with a spade, these were only small buckets and spades but there were plenty of chips. Also a burger king, a hot dog stall and loads of cafes.
I thought this was a good park and would recommend everyone to go there at least once.
I have just been told there has been a accident on the big dipper last night, the brakes failed and two carts crashed about thirty people are hurt.
I use Pc world a lot but the other day when I used it I wasn't happy at all, we went on to the internet and found the laptop we wanted. The one we wanted wasn't in stock at our local store so we looked for another store; the store we found was about twenty miles away so I reserved it for collect in store. I was a little worried they may sell it before we arrived so I phoned to make sure it had been put by, the assured me it had so we set out to collect it.
When we arrived we handed over the print out of the collect at store the member of staff went of to get someone else, he came over to tell us they had none in stock (I had even phoned them)
They told us they didn't have any and that was it they didn't want to help anymore than that.
As we were leaving the shop we saw a sign which said if the item you reserved for collect at store is not available they would replace the item for an item as good or better for the same price.
We went back in the store to tell them what we had just read they told us the offer on the laptop we wanted was so good they could not match it.
I was not happy so I demanded to see a manager, after I had to wait about thirty minutes for the manager, he then turned up. I told him I wasn't happy and he tried to get me to buy a laptop that was nowhere near as good as the one I wanted. I wouldn't leave so he went on the phone so a lot later he came back over to us and said we could have a different laptop for the same price, that was saving us thirty pounds I pointed out the ram wasn't as good, so he said he would up grade it for free, I agreed on the condition that he would throw in a mouse to go with the laptop, he told me to get a cheap one, I went and picked up the most expensive one I could find and told him I didn't like the others.(I wouldn't have if they had been more helpful in the beginning)
I like this laptop so much more than the other one but it wasnt worth all the stress.
This wasn't my local pc world, my local are a lot more helpful, so they are not all this bad
Pleasurewood hills is in lowerstoft in suffolk.
it is a park with rides and shows the rides are mostly for young children I would say under eleven, but there are rides for older children as well. the shows are with clowns, sea lions and parrots
We went to pleasurewood hills in the summer it was £15.75 each to get in we had been looking forward to coming here for weeks,
It will be best if I start from before we arrived; we put the postcode into the sat nav,
We then ended up being told we had reached our destination, with no pleasurewood hills to be seen. Thinking we had entered the wrong post code we looked for the map, another car pulled up and asked us if we was going to the same place and then another.
The postcode takes you to the other side of the park you can't even see the place at all from where we were. After driving around for another ten minutes and looking at the signs we found it.
We was a little disappointed at how few big thrill rides they had but we loved wipeout this is a forward and backward rollercoaster in one.
We were looking forward to the castle theatre this was meant to be excellent but when we tried to get in the queue was to long and lots of people were being turned away, they only did two shows a day, so if you want to get in queue for this extra early.
We were very disappointed with this park and didn't stay as long as we thought we would.
This is more for younger children not teenagers.
I have four rabbits and they all have completely different personality's, I haven't treated any of them any different, I have one that growls if you try to move it for example trying to get it back in its hutch and run after a long run in the garden, another that will only come and say hello when she wants to. I also have one that won't stop licking me and one that loves cuddles the rest don't like to be picked up.
Rabbits need a large hutch and run my rabbits have a large hutch and a six foot square run each, which is connected to the hutch so they can go in and out when they please. (the larger the better)
A lot of people say you should get the rabbits neutered so they can live in a pair that is what I thought I would do. There runs are next to each other so they could get to know each outer for months before I put them together, I even tried putting them in each others hutches so they could get used to the smell of the other rabbit before I put them together. I then let them have a run around together in a neutral place, this part all went fine the problems started when I went to visit them they would then fight to stop the other from coming anywhere near me, so now they all live in there own hutches and runs, they are all next to each other so they can see each other and they are much more happy this way.
Rabbits get bored and lonely they need things to play with, toys for a rabbit don't have to cost money a bit of wood to chew (this is also good for there teeth, a rabbits teeth never stop growing so this helps to keep there teeth down, but do check there teeth because they might need clipping.) a empty toilet roll tube filled with hay is another good toy they love to throw these around.
They also love to be around us they love our company.
A rabbits nails need to be checked if they get long they need to be clipped.
When you take your rabbit for its inoculations you can ask the vet to check its teeth and nails.
I feed my rabbits pets at home nuggets the reason I do this is because they always leave something in the muesli type of food, and the pellets they just don't like. They also love grass, cabbage, dandelion leaves and carrot tops, they also have carrot and apple sometimes but they don't like this as much.
Rabbits also need hay this is good for there digestion, they should have loads of hay, you can even use this as bedding. Never give a rabbit lettuce it is very bad for them.
Make sure they have fresh water everyday.
Rabbits need to have yearly inoculations these can add up to quite a bit of money. If boy a rabbit isn't neutered he can spray, this can be messy and a girl rabbit can get moody, so if you need to get them neutered as well this is about sixty pounds depending where you live, and they do get ill, vet bills can add up.
Rabbits can be really great pets but I would not ever get one just for a child the reason being they can hurt bad if they scratch or bite, they are a lot of hard work they need cleaning out regular as well. Children think they will be getting a cuddly bunny but most rabbits don't like to be picked up, they love to be stroked.
There are loads of rabbits out there that need re-homing I would advice someone to buy one of these because they are already grown up and you can see there personality, a baby bunny might not mind cuddles but when it's a adult thing might be so different. Also these rabbits should be given another chance, they probley was only given up because a child no longer wanted it.
Slicethepie is a good site for people to get there music heard and to get everyone's view on it.
They upload there music so we can rate how good it is you get paid for giving your view and rating each track.
They pay you anything from three pence to twelve pence a track you have to rate it thinking about how everyone would like it. For example you can't say it was a bad song just because you didn't like club music. I'm used to listening to lots of different music because I have teenage girls that like completely different music to me.
You will start of getting only 3 pence a track then when you have reviewed about fifty tracks they will put you up to 5 pence a track, but only if you have rated close to what everyone else has rated and your reviews are long enough.
To get to seven pence a track you have to of rated over two hundred and fifty songs, rated close to everyone else and written a long enough review.
This is a good thing to do if you have spare time; you get to listen to new music out.
The worst thing about this is when you get lots of horrid tracks to listen to it makes you want to give up for good.
Money saving expert
I have been going on this site for a couple of years now.
I have found out so much and saved so much money since using it, I can't go a day without just looking in.
If you want to save money on anything this is the place to be, I have saved loads just by changing my gas over.
The money saving website is run by a man called martin, he has set it up so there are different forums for different things, there's a forum for students another for the over fifties another for competitions the list goes on and on.
This is the place to go if you are looking for cheap holidays or cheap days out people post where to get the two for one vouchers on days out, and what holiday company's are doing the best deals at the time.
Also if you need advice on anything I am there is always someone to help whether it is how to bake something or even legal advice.
This is one of the best sites on the internet if I want to buy something I will look on money saving expert to see where the cheapest place is, and of course I will then look on here to check it hasn't got bad reviews.
Everybody should have a look on this site there is so much for everyone.
I started with pinecone research about two years ago.
You have to find a banner to click to join with them, it's not easy but once you are with them the rewards are good.
They used to send me a survey to do about every three weeks in to my email account, the survey only took about fifteen minutes to do and they used to send me a booklet of vouchers a few days later worth 4 pounds on food spends. I could use these in most shops to knock money of my shopping bill.
I never missed a survey until about eight months ago I was very ill and I didn't check my emails for just over a week. When I went on to check I realised I had a survey they wouldn't let me complete it because it was to late. I could understand they want there surveys in by a certain time. I thought It didn't matter I had only missed this one I would have plenty more in the future. I decided to email them to tell them I had been ill and was unable to complete the survey in time. I tried sending the email but It all it would so was keep coming up they couldn't send it I wondered if they had blocked me from there system because I had missed the dead line for the survey.
I thought I would see what would happen and waited for another survey, but I haven't ever received another.
Because I was ill and couldn't complete one survey they must have banned me.
This is a good paying company if you can get with them, but never bank on it lasting long because you never know if there maybe a time you can't complete a survey.
If I was going on a long holiday I could have told them in advance, but I went down ill will no warning so I couldn't tell them.
I just went shopping and there on the shelf as I walked in was the blue wrapper with red writing, I knew instantly what they were I had been planning to get one for days so there they were the wispa bars. I got four and hurried to pay for my shopping.
As soon as I got in I called everyone to give them there wispa bar, everyone was shocked that I knew what they were.
But everyone was pleased I had brought them say they really liked them.
The wispa bar is made by Cadburys it cost 42pence.
It is a milk chocolate bar with holes in not like aero, aero have much bigger holes, wispa have tiny little holes.
I sat down to eat mine wondering if was going to taste the same every thing about it was the same as I remember.
A wispa bar contains 210 calories so I will not be eating too many not like in the eighties I could eat and eat and never put on weight.
I would recommend these to anyone that likes milk chocolate.
I hope they stay this time they are so much nicer than a lot of the chocolates on the shelves.
Africa Alive is in Suffolk we went here while on holiday to Pontins in Pakefield, it was just a short car drive from there.
The price is £11.95 pre adult and £7.95 for 3 to 15 year olds.
They have a small farm with goat's rabbits and guinea pigs
They also have zoo animals like zebra, giraffes and lions, all the animals have a lot of room to roam around.
We spent ages looking for the white rhino did you know they are not white they are grey.
They also have loads of different birds; they were doing different displays throughout the day.
There was a little train you could use to take you around the park, we didn't use this, it was a lovely day and we enjoyed the walk. There wasn't that many people so it didn't feel at all crowded.
They was doing tours around the park in a jeep they would take you into some of the animals so you could get close, you could even feed a giraffe, we thought this would be great until we saw it would cost a extra nine pounds each for just thirty minutes .
The café had sandwiches, pasta pots, chips and drinks the prices weren't too bad.
They have an indoor and an outdoor play area for children.
We had a great time and I probley would go back again.
I will start with camber sands we have stayed at the camber sands pontins loads of times and stayed in all the grades of accommodation.
Budget very basic a bath with no shower and you have to pay extra for the bed linen
The four berth has a bedroom with two singles and a sofa bed in the lounge, the sofa bed is uncomfortable you find you are rolling into the middle. You have to pay for your electric so make sure you buy the cards. This room is very basic; if you get a dirty room they will move you to another if you complain. I wouldn't pay loads for this but if you get it cheap it's a good place to go.
Classic this is very much the same as the budget room you get a shower and your bed linen, it's slightly updated but not much.
Club these are the best but most expensive they have patio doors a lovely shower you get a cleaner come to clean and empty bins and you get a free news paper these are much nicer than the others but they cost so much more. If you stay in club you are allowed to booking early 2pm for club 4pm for the others.
The beach isn't to far away you can easily walk to it and it is all sand.
The entertainment is good it goes on till late at night the best entertainment is upstairs which is a problem for the disabled and those with buggies, there is a games room upstairs as well with snooker, pool, darts, chess and table tennis you have to pay to play pool but the rest you just pay a deposit.
The crazy golf is free as well and so is the swimming pool.
They do other activities for children that you have to pay for.
I wouldn't say this was the best holiday park but we have had some really good holidays here.
Pakefield is a half board holiday park the rooms are just bedrooms and very small. You do get a kettle but you don't get a fridge unless you hire one which is about 30 pounds. Our rooms felt damp all the time and this was summer. You didn't have to pay for electric, and the beds were made up for us.
Breakfast time you could have as much as you wanted the cereal toast and yogurts and fruit was good, you could also have bacon which was burnt most of the time scrambled egg beans and sausage and tomatoes. They also did kippers. They did tea coffee hot chocolate water and in the morning fruit juice. There was no juice or squash for the children in the evening unless you went into the bar to pay for it, also there was no decafe option.
Dinner, every day there was omelettes and jacket potatoes and salad. They had things like pizza and beans for the children
And every day they did something different like curry, spaghetti Bolognese and something for vegetarians, the thing they didn't do enough was traditional food like meat pie (food without spices) my husband don't eat spicy food so he had jacket potato and omelette for four out of the seven days. They also had 2 puddings these were things like ice cream, cake, cheese cake and one day they did chocolate cake and custard and another day they had apple crumble and custard.
The entertainment didn't stay on as late as cambersand it finished just after eleven they did have another bar that was open until late but you had to be over 18, I have one daughter which isn't 18 so we had to go back to our room. What teenager wants to go to bed just after eleven when they are on holiday? I know mine don't.
They had all the same thing like pool, snooker and darts they also had table tennis and indoor bowls but this was around the corner and no one was supervising them, the children were messing about most of the time and they was even throwing the bowls balls around we had to complain loads of times.
The swimming pool was nice and warm and they even had a slide.
You could get to the beach from the park you had to go down a slope which could be a problem if you were disabled.
They also have crazy golf and tennis
Hi I thought I would introduce myself to you all, I am Angel im almost forty (that's scary it don't feel like five years ago I was twenty five) I still feel like im in my twenties but the mirror tells me otherwise.
I live with my husband and my two teenage girls and all my pets I have a dog four rabbits a cockatiel and loads of fish and a guinea pig.
The picture I am using at the moment is off my wedding cake I decorated it myself I would have made the cake as well but I left it too late.
My favourite thing I like to do is to go to theme parks I just love going on rollercoaster. I won't say I don't get scared I get scared on most of the rides but it makes me feel awake and alive it gives me a buzz.
I also love to go out and visit different places.
I have been so pleased with the welcome I have got on hear from most of the people I think I will be staying around for a long time.
I had been using dooyoo to read about products and places for ages, I didn't even think about writing on dooyoo, until one day I was reading through another forum I use, they recommended writing for dooyoo so I thought I would give it a go.
I cant so far find any reason to fault dooyoo at all I have all ready sent them a message asking them a question and they got back to me very fast. Most people on here have been very welcoming it is a wonderful place to be because you can tell people what you think of something and read about what they think about things.
I would recommend this site to anyone that wants to know about a product or if they would like to give there opinion about something.
Without this site I think a lot of people would have made a different choice about things they purchase, this stops most of the mistakes of buying a useless product or visiting a boring place.
Dooyoo pays you to write reviews and pays you again when a member rates your review.
