These pots are a must-have for anyone that loves glitter and reconnecting with their childhood self with bright sparkly make-up. Depending on how much you use, you can get a subtle sparkle or full on glittered eyelids and cheeks. They are simply addictive to buy!
Application: First of all, use a brush! Don't attempt to dip your finger tips into the pot or you'll end up with glitter everywhere and stuck to your fingers! This stuff is delicate and light so you need to apply it lightly and gradually build up your desired look. Always have a cleansing wipe ready because the bits of glitter will drop on your cheeks from your eyelids, particularly if you apply it in a hurry.
Versatility: You can use this on your eyelids and cheeks depending on what look you are going for. It is just like having a pot of facepaint - you can do what you want with it!
Durability: The glitter lasts for hours and hours but I usually bring another pot with me to reapply, especially if I'm out in a sweaty club. Sometimes the glitter drops from your hair touching your face, wind etc. Avoid this by applying a small amount of foundation across your eyelid before you apply, you need to give the glitter a base to stick to! Also keep checking your face every now and then to make sure it isn't all over your cheeks! This only happened to me at first when I wasn't used to applying it properly.
These glitter pots come in almost every colour of the rainbow and brighten up your make-up for nights out. You can also make amazing designs with them if you are interested in going futher with make-up design and creating multi-coloured and fantasy-style looks. I used them at a fancy dress party to create a scaled effect when I went as a mermaid and the result was amazing!
Finally they are a must-have for glitter enthuasists but need careful application if you only want a light touch of sparkle!
This ipod is classic in appearance, the sound quality and all the features. It has everything the average user could possibly need but is easier to operate than a shuffle and less complicated than newer models.
Design: It isn't the smallest or lightest ipod but I don't particularly like tiny gadgets because I'm always worried about dropping or losing them. I actually like the bulkyness of it because it reminds me of the first ipods that came out and how desperate I was to get one for my birthday. Also, the fact that it isn't a touchscreen is a bonus for me, I like to be able to actually press buttons! Some people might think these two parts of the design are drawbacks but I suppose it is a personal preference.
Data: 120GB is more than enough data for me, I can comfortably fit films, tv programmes and 3000 songs. There is still plenty of room for more but I've never filled the space!
Features: I like the way the songs are divided into genres, artists, albums so you can search in whatever way is convenient to you, although this is quite standard on most ipods. The video is also fantastic quality and has saved me many boring train journeys. Extra features such as the on screen clock are useful too but I've never used the calendar, notes, alarm or stopwatch. However, I think it is really good that these are incorporated so you can have the option to use them.
Durability: I've had this ipod for two years and it has never broken or had a single fault. I use it with both headphones and speakers and I'm completely satisfied with its performance.
I honestly struggle to say anything negative about this ipod, for my lifestyle and requirements it is perfectly suited to me!
This pencil has saved me from over-plucked eyebrow disasters on numerous occassions! The pencil is simply a classic product from the Rimmel range, consistently on form, quick to apply and lasts all night.
Use: Sharpen the pencil to determine the line you want on your face; making it narrower can produce a more natural look or you can make it blunter and simply blend with your fingers or the brush on the lid. It comes in various shades, I'm blonde and blue-eyed and I've found the hazel shade suits me best.
Look: Slimline, portable, no bulky lids and or fancy decoration. Highly practical, especially with the brush although you will definitley need a pencil sharpner because it wears down quite quickly!
Price: Great value for money and superior to many eyeliners from rival companies in the same price range. I found it produced the same results as many luxury brands that I have tried. It even looks better than more expensive powder compacts for eye-brow contoring, provide it is blended carefully and drawn in light strokes.
Like the majority of make-up products, your technique produces the final result but this pencil is so simple and effective it is a good for make-up enthuasists and novices alike!
Illuminators are quite hard to get right. You need to apply a small amount to stop you from just looking shiny and you need to know how to blend it properly with foundation, moistriser or anything else! This illuminator is no exception and I've found the best method is to use it in conjunction with a lightweight foundation such as foam-based or powder based.
Application: Thin and liquidy texture means it is easy to apply to skin if the right amount is used. Concentrate hard on blending it otherwise you will get patches of shine. The bottle is an odd design which I don't really see the point of. For example the first application will allow the brushes to stay soft and let you paint it on your face. But painting it on can make your make-up look too heavy and risks the shiny effect? After the first application, clean the brush inside and out. If you don't, the illuminator will stick the bristles together and you will get a horrible gunky mess. Also you MUST remember to switch it to the 'Off' position. Otherwise it will leak in your handbag - this happened to me.
But the good thing is that you don't need to use the brush at all. I just leave it securely on the 'off' position and take the brush off entirely so that it flows out like an ordinary cream. This renders the brush a bit useless really but it is just my personal preference not to use it. Remember if you do use it, that brushes can harbour germs and oil which give you spots; another reason to keep it super clean. Always keep the lid on the illuminator too, otherwise it will harden very quickly and I once ended up squirting my dress with it accidently when I was squeezing it manicly getting ready for a night out.
Overall, this product works very well and creates a lovely healthy and youthful glow on the face, as long as it is applied correctly, the lid is always on and you keep the brush clean if you intend to use it.
I used this printer for my last year at University to print photographs and word documents and I have found that on the whole it is consistent and produces good quality printing. However there have been a few small issues in the past month.
Ease of use: I found it hard to install the printer and my laptop kept failing to recognise it which means you need to spend a while loading cds and software before you can use it. Once it is installed, sometimes it doesn't align properly even if you follow the instructions and this can take time as you keep attempting to align it. The ink cartridges are very easy to replace and install by simply clicking into place. If you get stuck on anything the printer has a useful display screen showing step by step instuctions (great if you hate fiddling around with manuals). Finally make sure you load the paper correctly as the printer jams quite easily if you do not align the paper properly.
Features: Photographs are unsuprisingly very good quality, word documents are about average quality and the scanner and photocopier are also very sharp and easy to use. I never had problems scanning or photocopying anything. The printer also has a wireless function but I didn't use this as I'm a bit of a technophobe and used the printer cable instead. The cable simply plugged into a USB port - no fuss or confusing networks needed! The tools section on the LCD screen also has ink levels, alignment options, clean ink smears etc all at the touch of a button. I found this very useful and it saves time clicking for the options on your computer when you can just press a button on the printer itself.
Durability: I used the printer frequently over a period of a year and it consistently produced good quality results. However, in the past month I've had some difficulties getting rid of an ink smear which keeps appearing on random pieces of paper and I've also had a few paper jams recently. Considering how much I have used this printer and all the features during my degree I'm not too disapointed although it would be nice not to have this problem.
Overall I'm very satisfied with the results and would recommend this printer particularly to students and anyone that needs to print a lot of photos or documents.
I bought the LG Cookie Fresh in 2010 when I wanted to buy a cheap smartphone that would be good for social networking. I bought the Cookie Fresh for £50 and so I expected a phone that would at least last a year, even if it was not the most high tech.
Once I'd got used to the touch screen I really enjoyed using the phone, particularly the layout on the screen and the slim size of the phone which is very portable. Unfortunately, I noticed that the screen was moving slower and slower and my touch became out of synch with the buttons pressed. I tired everything the manual said to salvage the problem but nothing worked. Within a few days, the screen froze on and off. Then the screen broke entirely and wasn't able to salvage any of my contacts and I could only speak on the phone if someone called me.
I took the phone in for repair and they said it was hopeless and I might as well buy a new phone. So I did and vowed to never buy any LG products again.
I got these rollers for my 21st birthday and they are still working properly nearly two years later. They are ideal for me because I don't like using hair straighteners to curl my hair and these rollers are so quick and easy.
Operating them is very simple ; select your heat temperature, allow them to heat up for about ten minutes until the control roller shows a grey circle. This shows you that they are ready to use. The rollers come with clips of two kinds and you can use both or just one of the two styles.
The curlers come in three main sizes which is positive in that it opens the possibilities to all kinds of looks but can be annoying if you have a lot of hair like I do and you run out of a particular size. Technique is also everything - I'd recommend watching some tutorials on heated rollers if you have never used them or they can produce some unsightly bends and wonky hairstyles. Heated rollers rarely last for more than a few hours, this is just the nature of heat products on hair but you can help yourself with hair spray, technique etc. Although you can leave them in for 10 minutes, I'd try to leave them in as long as possible because once they have cooled down they won't damage your hair any further, only help it set into place. You must always use heat protecting spray too, I went through a faze of not bothering and it dried out my hair.
Lastly, keep all the clips in one place because they are very easy to lose. I've had to replace some of mine over the years.
I am naturally pasty white and I don't normally get along with bronzers. I usually just look strangely orange so I tend to buy real fake tan instead because it blends better. Last week I purchased this product before my graduation ball when my boyfriend had discouraged me from using fake tan because he hates the smell.
The texture is very light and feels like a moistriser without that horrible sticky feeling that many self-tanners can give you. The result is comparable to a real fake tan and it would be difficult to tell I was just wearing body make up in my photos. It also smells very neutral, none of the biscuity/curry odor of real self-tanners.
The product is tinted which is another bonus - meaning if you are prone to streaking this product will be helpful to you. I would say make sure you rub it in properly, I very nearly went to the ball with a great big streak down the side of my arm. As long as you double check it should look flawless. The tan lasted all night and my dress was not stained at all.The next day it washed off perfectly in the shower as promised on the label.
I can honestly think of no negatives about this product, as long as it is blended properly and the shade is appropiate for your skin tone, it makes a cheap, convienent and instant glow on the skin!
I got this phone as part of a free upgrade from 02 and I was initially very impressed with the design because it incorporates touch screen and buttons so there is no need to choose between them. I also really like how it slides together, making the phone smaller and easily able to fit into my handbag.
The main issue I have had is with the screen which has broke entirely after three months of use and I had my phone replaced for free. I assumed this was just an error with that particular model but with the second model the speakers inside the phone broke within a few months meaning that I could receive calls but the other person was not able to hear me unless I pressed the speaker button. This meant that it awkward to have conversations on the phone in public or anywhere except on my own in my room. The model was replaced yet again and I'm now on my third version of this phone. So far, the lights in the buttons are breaking and are flashing on and off. However, I'm so grateful that the phone is actually working I'm not too bothered but the flashing lights are quite irritating.
I can honestly say I would never pay a penny for this phone, it has caused me so much trouble due to poorly made handsets. I've used blackberry models previously and have still never had this much difficulty with a phone. As a result I won't be choosing a blackberry for my next upgrade and I would not reccommend spending money on an unreliable phone model. There is clearly a fundamental flaw with this model and even if some others have said that it is a good phone I would say it probably is not worth the risk of constant breakdowns!
