My husband and I are seriously thrilled with our decision to use cloth nappies, we went for Mother-ease one size as we liked the fact that the nappies would fit our baby from birth to potty. In the end we used disposables for the first couple of months as we had quite a small baby and the nappies were too big for him at first. Now he is in them full time and seems much more comfortable in them than the disposables. There are several poppers on the front so they the nappies can be adjusted to fit as the baby grows and the rubber wraps that fit over the top come in so many cute prints that in the hot weather he looked super stylish just in his nappy! Our boy is quite a heavy wetter and we haven't had one leak yet, he has even had diarrhoea for the past week and still not even the tiniest little leak.
These nappies are very high quality, I have mine second hand from and they are all several years old however they look brand new and still have years left in them.
The cost of these versus disposables is a no brainer, we have saved so much money already. The impact of disposables on the environment is shocking and these cloth nappies are helping me do my bit to reduce it!
These eco friendly wipes are great for anyone who is concious of the impact that disposable products have on the environment.
The starter pack comes with the fresh box, mucky box and net, fresh and mucky oils, fresh and mucky bags for taking them out and about and 25 terry towelling wipes. We also bought an extra packet of 25 towelling wipes which means that we can have one set in the wash and one set in use - no danger of running out of baby wipes during a 3am nappy change!
They are such a great product, all you do is fill the boxes with water up to the fill lines, add in a few drops of the correct oil and pop in the wipes and away you go. The wipes themselves are head and shoulders above disposables, they clean off any much in a jiffy and quite often only one wipe is needed for a job that would have taken several disposables.
Please don't be put off by the fact that they have to be laundered - you don't even need to dry them as they just go back into the fresh box ready for use!
I cannot recommend Cheeky Wipes enough, a genius product that I wish more people were aware of.
I was torn between the Canon 7D and the Canon 5dMK2, I went for this in the end as I use more automatic modes so thought that the Canon 7D sounded perfect. It is very easy to learn how to use and turns out great quality pictures every time. It's very quick to switch between the different controls and modes. If there is a sudden change in the light then there is no problem quickly switching aperture levels or changing the iso. The automatic zoom is great and very fast so no magic moments will be missed!
It is quite heavy once you have your lens attached, and especially if you add the flash too but it's well balanced and you soon get used to it - once you're over the shock!
My only complaint is that the flash is absolutely horrible, I've never used a picture that was taken with the flash and have it set to never come on! I would strongly recommend getting a separate flash so that you have much more control over the light levels.
This Dualit Cordless Kettle is of the usual very high standard that you'd expect from this brand, I've had mine for four and a half years and it's still as good as new. It's quick to boil the water and is also very quiet. It has a filter over the spout to stop limescale from pouring out with the water - essential if you have London water! I've also put a small limescale sponge inside it to help with the problem. The lid is very tight fitting which is great as on cheaper kettles the lid can feel a little flimsy and can sometimes leak boiling water out onto the worktop - I've never had that happen with this model.
The 1.5 litre capacity seems a little bit on the small side and sometimes you'll need to boil it twice if you're filling up a pan to boil pasta etc but to be honest this isn't a problem - more a minor annoyance that doesn't occur very frequently.
My only complaint is that the chrome finish shows up dirt very quickly - I feel like I am always cleaning it!
The Dualit four slice toaster is by far and away the best toaster I have ever owned, it toasts beautifully and I swear that the toast even tastes better! It's great that you can select the amount of slices you are going to toast and how long to toast them. It has a little handle to pop the toast up if you need to check it while it's cooking. I've also had this toaster on my kitchen unit under a wall mounted cupboard and there are no scorch marks on the unit at all - not like the cheap toasters I had before this one.
The sandwich toaster baskets that come with it (mine came with two) just make the most delicious toasties, super crispy on the outside and lovely and soft on the inside. Just be careful not to over stuff the toastie with too much cheese as it will all dribble out into the bottom of the toaster! I know, I know it's hard not to.....
My only complaint is that the chrome version gets dirty quite quickly, if I'd realised this then I would have chosen a brightly coloured one.
You get what you pay for - this id definitely worth every penny!
