Why I chose this product:-
While i was a University student, i was constantly suffering from colds and throat complaints, i blamed this on the mass sharing of facilities and the dreaded freshers flu, (however, more realistically it was down to the copious amouts of wine consumed at the student union and the poor diet of fish fingers and oven chips everyday). I was feeling pretty run down one day, my energy zapped but had t run a few errands in town. I popped into Boots Chemist and decided to meander down the Vitamins aisle. To be honest i didn't know what i was looking for i hadnt taken vitamins since i was a child and those where the chewable kind. I came across Wellwoman which promised to help maintain health, vitality and wellbeing. I also rememebered reading an article in some magazine or another that Cat Deely took these, and well if they are good anough for Cat, theyre good enough for me.
Where to find this product:-
Most chemists stockthis product, as well as leading supermakets and of corse Holland & Barrett.
How much does this product cost:-
Its about £5.99 for 30 capsules depending on where you buy. I'll usually wait till theres an offer on and stock up to save money.
Individually packaged soft vitamins in a blister pack. They come in a distinctive box and so are quite easy to find.
Its worth stocking up because this product has a shelf life of about two years, per pack.
Wellwoman gives nutritional support to the areas of health which are most relevance to women.
*Total Wellbeing: a comprehensive spectrum of micronutrients are provided for all-round nutritional support.
*The monthly cycle: evening primrose oil and starflower oil help maintain healthy hormone balance. Iron is provided for blood formation and viatmin B6 helps to maintain a healthy nervouse system.
*Energy Levels: magnesium and B vitamins are provided for the release of energy.
*The immune system: a wide range of antioxidant viatmins and minerals, including vitamin C and citrus bioflavonoids, to help maintain a healthy immune system.
*Skin, hair & nails: natural carotenoids, vitamin E and Zinc and necessary to help maintain healthy skin and for cell renewal.
How to use this product:-
Take one capsule a day with water on a full stomach, this is a food supplements not a subsitute.
The effects of this viatmin are not immediate you need to take them for about a month before feeling and seeing the positive effects. However after that time i noticed my skin was clearer and brighter, my nails were stronger and my immune system definatly boosted- ive had a few sniffles in the year or so ive used it but no full blown colds. i havnt seen a massive increase in my energy levels but i cant expect miracles. id also make sure you do eat before taking or it will make you feel sick.
I'd definatly suggest this product, as long as you make the commitment to take them everyday, you will be the benefits.
I first came across this product in 2005 when i was looking for a gorgeous shimmery eyeshadow that would compliment my Prom dress and make me look like the Belle of the ball. This was the first Bourjois product I had ever bought and chose two shades: Beige Rose (a light shimmery cream colour) and 54 Marron Glace, (which is a bronzey/ brown shade). Ever since Bourjois has been a firm favourite in my makeup collection earning pride of place of my eyelids on most nights on the town.
This is typically a product from france and as far as i know is hypo-allergenic. I would suggest trying this product on the inside of your wrist (where the skin is most like your eyelid) first to test if you have any reaction. Do this before you want to wear the product, there will be nothing worse that having red, stinging eyes of your big night out. I have quite sensitive skin and have found some eyeshadows to be an irritant but with Bourjois I do not have this problem.
This little pots of eyeshadow come in a whole spectrum of colours some of which i have tried, some blues, greens, blacks and greys. However my ultimate favourite is Marron Glace. I have hazel coloured eyes and brunette hair so it adds a smokey effect to my eyes without being too heavy and 'goth-like' I willl always buy this shade and will continue to pick up a new one now and again. I have my eye on a vibrant purple shade at the moment which will be perfect to apply under the lashline with a thin, wet eyesahdow brush.
Each individual pot is about 2 inches in diameter and comes with a handy little mirror inside and pad applicator. It snaps shut but unfortunatly the packaging is pretty fragile if dropped (duh), ive snapped the topped off my cases numerous amounts of time so be careful. The product itself wont usually crumble like most if dropped which is a bonus to your makeup/ night out ba, (there have been so many times ive had to scrape of the remainder of my very expensive eyeshadow, compressed powder, bronzer from the insides of my snakeskin River Island going out bag in tiomes where after a few glasses of Rose and enthusuastic dancing ive flung my bag across the danceflorr and in times of this recession a girl needs to be savvy when it comes to the disposal of expensive, if crumbled and mixed with fluff, products).
Each individual colour is extremely vibrant and is induced with flecks of gold/silver/bronze shimmering particles adding a 3-dimensional effect to your eyes. My top tip in using this product is to use the applicator and apply a coat over the eye, then dip the applicator in some water and squeeze poout (the key is to be damp, not sopping) then use to gather more eyeshadow. Apply this to the areas of the eye you wish to accentuate, with dark colours-the outer corners and lash line, lighter colours- the inner coners and middles of your lids. The use of a damp applicator brings out the best in the shimmer within the colour of these eyeshadows. My motto is experiment and always get the best of whatever product you are using.
This product (per pot) last 6 months plus depending on how often you use and how much you use per application. Each poty contains 1.5g of eyeshadow and has a shelf life of 18 months (pay attention to shelf life when it comes to eye care products or risk an infection, if you have had an infection remember to throw all products away :( I know its sad but why risk it? Also do not share products- if you must use cotton wool buds as applicators and throw away after use).
Each pot costs approx. £5 - £6 depending on where you purchase it. Look out for makeup offers in certain sores such as Superdrug and Boots, (Boots also has a reward system in tyhe form of a points card- products are usually a bit pricier in Boots so its often not worth it but if there is a deal on go for it).Leading Supermarkets not have Bourjois counters and often provide cheaper prices. My top tip is try stores like Savers that will stock this product at a far cheaper price, but this might mean you wont get the shades you were looking for, (ive bought Bourjois eyeshadows for £2 here so its definatly worth a look).
I would certainly recommend this product as it is relativly cheap and is really effective. I count these little pots as a must-have in my going-out makeup collection.
This review is for the Intensive Lotion for Extra Dry Skin. I fist came across this as a sample sent to me by Dove to promote their new product. I dont have particularly dry skin but find that a thicker lotion often means maximum moisturisation and long lasting results. After trying the sampler i was converted and have continued to buy this product as my staple body moisturiser of choice.
How much does it cost: This product costs £2.79 for 250ml and a larger version is available at a higher cost. This product has a shelf life of twelve months and directs you to use it everyday or as often as needed.
Product Performance: When first using this product i was drawn to its summery smell which seems to be a blend of baby powder and coconut scent. Perfect for days when sun lotion is not needed to keep you smelling lovely and feeling happy. The product is a thicker moisturiser than most due to its purpose for dry skin. It glides on and it quickly absorbed into the skin penetrating it and softening any dry patches. This product leaves and over-all smooth and soft effect upon the skin that lasts all day. I particularly liked this product as it perks up your skin and your senses with its light but beatiful scent. A fab wy to start your morning beatuty routine or as a pick me up for tired dry skin.
Any other information: Dove intensive lotion for extra dry skin with Cream-oil formula combines two of the most powerful moisturisers - Skin-nourishing oil and rich hydrating cream in a highly effective, non greasy formulation.
Recommendation: Try this if your want a thick luxurious moisturiser. It is the perfect solution to dry, rough or tight skin and wil produce results gaurenteed!!
During last years Christmas party season my tootsies took a bit of a battering with all the extremely high heels and dancing until dawn i'd been doing. It was one night, however, after comming home and removing my killer shoes that i realised the pain i'd been experiencing in my heels was due to the fact that on of myy heels had split and was actually bleeding. This had never happened to me before and it was so painful i booked an appointment with my GP. He prescribed my aqueous cream and i applied it as much as possible every day for a week without imrovment. I could barelty walk by this stage (okay i'm being a drama queen, but it really hurt), so i hobbled my way to boots and scoured their footcare aisle. There were many varieties of lotions and potions to 'cure' cracked heels, so i asked the pharmacist to point my in the direction of the best. Upon which i discovered Flexitol Heel Balm.
How much does it cost: A tad pricey at £5- £6 for 2oz lasting up to twelve months. But the packaging was so convincing (a before picture with gnarly beaten up heels and an after picture of sparkling new ones) that i thought its got to be worth a try.
Product Performance: The packaging advises using this product twice a day until the skin is restored and afterwards to maintain its condition. Upon first application i found it to be quite thick and slightly greasy. The smell of it isnt the most pleasant but i applied it thickly and set my feet up to rest until it was fully absorbed. ***TIP: Use cotton socks after applying to ensure product is fully absorbed into skin, this will also prevent you transferring the product onto anything else, incurring potential stains. After an hour I could already ntice the difference this product had worked. When i had applied it i could feel a slight tingling in the crack on my heel but that is because this product is actually medicated as opposed to some other creams on the market, which are just a deep moisturiser for the foot. After just one week the crack had dissappeared, (I know i sound like an advert from the TV, but i was actually amazed and highly thankful for the results it produced).
Any other information: This product is medically proven for general and diabetic foot care. It contains 25% Urea in a highly concentrated moisturising and emollient base.
Recommendation: I would highly recommend this product as it actually worked for me and allowed me to get back into my heels for New Year's!!!
I'm a complete hoarder of reciepts in my purse, so one lunchtime whilst sipping a latte with friends i had a rifle through said purse and discovered a gem- a £5 No7 voucher for Boots. I've used these in the past and used them to purchase products I would have usually bypassed due to their ridiculously high price tag for a shop's 'own' brand product. Anyway the voucher gave me the oppurtunity to have a whole fiver off any product in the range. The No7 Protec t& Perfect range is notoriously (and exceptionally) good and so upon discovering their range is decided to also purchase the lipcare product.
This product can be found with the other No7 protect & pefect range and is exclusive to Boots. It comes in a blue box (which i personally think, and do about the rest of the range is a ridiculous waste of needless packaging). The actual product comes in a small squeezy tube.
This product is scented and leaves a taste to the lips- sort of coconut-ish. It comes out quite white that requires rubbing in, but you will only need a small amount per application to avoid waste. This product is a pricey £8.50 for a glorified lip salve and contains just 10ml of product. Having said that, it does last well as you only use a small amout at one time. but does carry a 6 month expiry date. Bonus: this product is hypo-allergenic and will suit most skin types.
I like this product, price tag aside it works to keep my lips in tip top condition when used every day. I would buy it again if I had a Boots voucher although I think the price tag is a bit ridiculous for what it is and wouyld not pay full price for something i could get much cheaper (ie nivea lip balm, vaseline etc).
Reading through the independants list of books you should read before you die i came across the colur purple. Having hardly any idea of the book i was about to read i settled into a warm bubble bath and began. Immedaiatly i was shocked at the graphic descriptions of what the main charector Celie endures, Raped by her Pa, bearing two children who are snatched and sold, forced into marriage at a young age and potentially losing contact with her sister Nettie for life.
This book is told through a series of letters first to God and then to the sister you longs to see and desperatly believes is alive. After suffereing at the hand of her husband and his children, celie is run down and not exactly living life. that is until she meets the glamourous Shug Avery who transforms her mentality and outlook on life encourgaing her to live.
Set in the deep south this book shows a marvellous struggle faced by the black women of a particular family and how the triumph over the people that seek to keep them down. It also reflects the naivety that they felt and the unknowing of their heritage. this is reflected also in the African colonies gradually being taken over by the 'white man.'
This is an important book and a good read i couldn't put it down in fact i needed to know the outcome how life will always turn out good in the end. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in what makes a true heroine. complete with strong charectors and lots of heartache and fun this book makes its mark as a modern classic.
I have just finished a three year Law degree at Aberystwyth. If your looking to strudy in a friendly Uni in a smallish town this place is for you.
There are lots of benefits of stydying at Aberytwyth for e.g:
*Smallish town so within a few weeks you will know a lot of faces and make plently of friends, unlike city uni's where you may never see them again.
*close-knit cammpus with plenty of facilities.
*In fist year I stayed at Rosser Halls, which are self-catering and have theyre own en-suite, the downside is that the rooms are tiny and the wardrobes are even smaller. If you do not mind aharing a bathroom i would urge you to live in the newly re-furbished Penbryn, which is a more socialble and esy option as all your meals are included and will eat with your mates every day.
*In second year i lived in a shared rented house in the town- ours was a dump, so I'd look around before committing to one place. Do not sign a lease aggreement untill your certain. Check the ?Uni list for the best places to live and check them out in plenty of time.
* In third year i stayed in town but i would urge you to live in the student village Pentre Jane Morgan PJM which are student houses that are clean and hall-like. this is close to the campus which is important in your final year.
The Uni have brilliant facilities from extensive libraries to its own cinema.
*Lecture theatres are large and roomy and the library will contain every book you need for the course (and you can recomnebd it if it isnt there). The library allows you to borrow up to 15 books a time which is handy come essay time. You will be given your own email on arrival and this will entitl you to acess the uni's intranet and computing and printing suite. Your library card also doubles up as a NUS card and ID card to get into the Student Union.
*On campus is the Aberystwyth Arts Centre which contains art galleries (usually showing modern and inspiring work), Its own theatre (showing a range of plays from Macbeth to Little Shop of Horrors), a waterstones (where students get a 10% discount on coursebooks and general books), and its own cinema (which shows modern films as well as classics, they also have film festivals such as Abertoir at Halloween showing a variety of horror films, I appriciated the foreign films on show which otherwise i would have had to get on DVD).
*Eating on campus: SAtudents have the opputunity tro purchase a loyalty card to buy food on Campus- this is so worthwhile (get your parents to get you one and top it up every term) as food bought with this card is so cheap. Branwens situated in Penbryn halls is spectactular serving everything you could desire, cooked dinners, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, salad bar and my fav chinese takeaway (which comes in the boxes you see on friends) you can also get a goo hot chocolate here too. The union has a shop which is reasonably priced and you can buy sandwiches pot noodles and crisps from here (as well as stationary, gifts, rent DVDs etc). Downstairs in the Union is a canteen which do gorge baguettes made fresh in front of you as well as pizza, curly fries etc. (particularly useful after a night out in the union). The Art Center has three cafes and one canteen, which serves the most amazing cakes (meet up with friends here, take your parents here when they visit). Nosh da is a fast food joint open all night for your pizza pleasure. Also Co-op is situated really close to campus along with a newsagents and chippy- so you wont starve on campus.
Societies and Sports Clubs:
As someone who has now finished Uni i will pass on my wisdom and urge you to join a society or sports club. Go along to freshers fayre and sign up to anything that takes your fancy- this is where you willmeet your greatest friends in Aber. Lets face it in halls you are put with whoever the uni decides and so this is your oppurtunity to meet like minded people who have the interests asd you. these groups vary from the weirld wonderful to the wonderfully weird and include all your egular sports groups to paintballing and Urban Dance, Drama groups to Video gaming socials. You will meet up with these people to practise and get involved and then most importantly party with them. Socials usually take place on a wednesday night and will have you in fancy dress all year. Please join a group as it will make your uni experience complete- i promise.
Thing to do in the area:
*Aber lacks entertainment in some ways but you have the arts center which you should take absolute advantage of, as well as the local (one screen) cinema that shows a new film each week. Make it an occasion amoungst your friends- its one of those cinemas where people dress in fancy dress to reflect the film and they stop for ice cream in the middle.
*The beach is amazing and any sunny day you should deffo hit it. Aber is also surrounded by welsh coastal towns whicgh boast lovely beaches too. Get a bus to Newquay or cardigan where you can get a boat trip and see the dolphins. Take a train to Boirth, to go surfing or to visit the Animalarioum (which houses eveything from monkey and reptiles, to kangaroos and a leopard). Devils bridge is a great day out you can catch the little train and go on an enchanted walk down jacobs ladder waterfalls.
*The peir is a sight to be seen in houses resturants, a club, a 24hr cocktrail bar and pizza place, a DVD rental place and a casino/arcade. save up your 2ps and head there for a laugh.
*Castell Rock is a music festival in Aber and feautures a range of bands including Radio Luxembourg and Cerys Matthews last year.
Aber has some big name shops such as Dorothy Perkins, New Look, Monsoon, Claires, Thortntons, Animal, Officers Club, Burtons, whsmiths and waterstones. But its best shopping comes in the orm of its boutiques which feauture one-off dresses, acndles nad trinkets to delight you. look out for Pollys, Her Dandy Wolfe, Pink Flamingo, Cafe Society and Gusto.
Aber also has a retail park which has the following:
Matalan, Peacocks, Pets at Home, Sainsburys, Brantanto, Iceland, Store 21, Argos and Lidl. Supermarkets in the town also include Morrisons. If you really want to shop get an £8 return train tickets to Shrewsbury for the day.
This is where Aber is in its element there are approx 56 pubs in Aber town alone.
On Campus: Court Mawr bar has regular pub quizzes and Pound party nights- a good place to start. The union is excellent open evry night with something different on each night, such as reload on awednesday (feauturing cheesy old schol tunes), Quids in on a friday (cheap drinks and current music), on saturdays theres usually a fancy dress theme. The union has a bar and a club.
Pubs: There are too many to mention so i'll just include my favourites. Downies Vaults is the ultimate student pub, with a friendly atmosphere to a mad-cap landlord downies is th e place to be feautring the Aber Admiral with is a Quadrupal vodka and redbull for £3.50. The Cambrian is a good student place with its walss covered in Cockatails recipes and cockatils at £4 a glass. The mill feautres the mill challenge which is a lineup of 10 shots and a free t-shirt on completion. Aber has usual chain bars such as wetherspoons, Varsity and Salt for your cheap faves. The glengower is on the seafront and boasts the best views over the beach. Go there before sunset and watch the sun dissapear into the sea. Kanes is a sports bar that your can get cheap doubles, this is a popular scieties spot. The acadmenyis one of them rare places whichis a feast for the eyes, once a church now transformed into a nightspot, whilst keeping its organ pipes and pullpit. This is a good place to have a tipple. For a more alternative scene try the Angel. For a range of good Ales try he Ship and Castle. Scholars is a brill place with live music, as is Rummers hich looks like a pirate bar with barrells and candles and good wine.
Nightclubs: mosts students will head up to the unon or go to the Pier pressure nightclub situated on the pier- this is the best place to go with a variety of music is is paid entry and only has cheap drinks and promotions on a thusday- if you go to the pub next to it Inn on the pier you can get a stamp and free entry before 11pm into the main club- this place has a 24hr pizza place as well as kareoke nights. Yokos (or Y-knot as its now named) is a good spot to go on a tuesday or before heading to Pier pressure. As the main clubs close at 2pm most student head to the Bay wgich stays open till 4pm and feautures a range of rooms complete with their own style of music in each. The Angel again is a good spot for alternative music.
*Buy a bus pass at £30 and this gives you unlimited free travel around Aber for a whole year. Handy when your too lazy too walk up and down constitutional hill.
*Aber has millions of taxis. the taxi reank is near whertherspoons but mini ranks develop at chucking out time up the union and near pier pressure.
* A Rail card at £30 for the year will give you discounted travel.
*Aber isnt too good for car users as you will have to buy a pass to park and live on campus and pay and display each day- no free student parking. Also parking in the town is limited.
*cafes: Caffi Blue is lovely, full of fairy lights and books that you can swap. The orange tree is a stylish place and good for desert. Freshly ground is another good one. There are two Spartacus shops in town and these serve yummy paninis and baguettes. Mgs is a cheap coffee shop. Aber also has a Costa Coffee.
*fastfood: Macdonalds, KFC a range of Pizza places, chinese resturants (the best is the Hounoured Guest), Indian takeaways (The light of Asia is the best).
Resturants: this is my pick of the best. Little Italy provides excellent Italian food in a cosy environment. Wasabi is our Sushi bar and is amazing. The Light of Asia is gorgeous Indian Food. The olive Branch is a selection of ecclectic greek dishes. La Taberna is the local tapas bar and i love it there. And tides on the front is a good seafood resturant and place for Sunday Dinner Cavery.
I really enjoyed my time at Aberystwyth Uni and hope that this review of mainly the life as an aber student may help any budding students out there. Ive made some great friends and had some brilliant times. Its a great oppurtunity to live at the beach (once you get used to the seagulls) make the most of this oppurtunity and take up a watersport. In all just enjoy is for what it is. Work hard thats what your there for but play hard as it will be the time of your life.
Hope this review helps xxx
Stumbling through my local Debenhams beauty counter i was confronted by an array af sub-standard similar-looking boring baeuty product and glimmering in the distant wa the beauty conunter to outshine the others. A fabuolous clash of vibrant pink, animal prints and 50's pin-ups posing in cheesecake poses. I'd arrived, my saviour the glourious BENEFIT counter. These products are a cut above the rest. the packaging makes you want to buy and thats without trying a single product. On this particular day I was on the lookout for the perfect summer blusher, i'd cast aside my darker Elizabeth Arden shade for the winter and wanted a fresher pinker hue to don my cheeks. I approached the makeup artist who tried out a few products on me. Whn she first used Coralista I was blown away by the beautiful smell that seemed to linger on my cheeks. I was sold.
How much does it cost: this product is a little pricey at £33.50 but is completly worth it. You get a 12g block of blusher complete with a small square gblusher brush.
Product Performance: The packaging of this produt is to die for with is tropical leaves and leopard print label; it takes pride of place on my make up table. The blusher itself is a light shimmery pink whichis really vibrant but not too barbie when you put it on and can be layered to achieve a day look or a night look depending on what you want. The brush that comes with it is perfect for applying the right amout to the apple on your cheeks. This product as ive mentioned smells delicious and is so moreish!
Tip: Apply in the usual way and sweep a small amount onto your temples to create shimmer i all the places that the sun would naturally tan you. This will slimmen your face and give your makeup thatextra summery touch.
Recommendation: Go on treat yourself to a quality product that lasts for ages.
Im a slave to fashion and beauty always spending time on my appearance and taking any oppurtunity to pamper myself. This included fortnightly trips to my local nail salon having acrylic french nails tips attached at £30+ a pop. Eventually this spending on my nails was proving too pricey and maiking a huge dent in my bank account. But a girl needs to look good and so i sought an alternative. My local Boots store led me to Nailene which was one of the cheaper brands of glue on false nails. I have recently started wearing daily contact lenses and so need a shorter length so that my eyes didnt suffer from scratching by long (but fabulous) talons. So i chose the short square french manicure style, with a shimmery sheen to them. Also i have quite petite, slim nails and find it somwhat difficult to find false nails that fit wthout having to be filed down but nailenes range ed me to a set that fit perfectly.
How much did it cost: Approx £6 for a pack of 24 nails, a nail file, orange stick and glue. I thought this price was so reasonable and provided potentially two sets of nails. as nails come in 12 sizes.
How to use: I'd apply these whilst sitting at a table. Maybe put some newspaper down as not to get glue everywhere.
1: Remove all nails from packaging and find the correct nail to fit each of your own and line them up in front of you.
2: Dip you own nails in warm soapy water and using the orange stick push back your cuticles. Then dry hands and nails completely.
3: Take the nails file and gently buff over the surface of your own nails, (this will give them a slightly rough texture thus maximising the bonding potential of the nails and glue). Remeber not to overdo this stage as you may damage the surface of your own nails.
4: Apply each nails individually, apply glue to the back of each nail (not too much as it will spill over) place nail onto your own and hold tight for about 30 seconds this will ensure that the nail is fully bonded.
5: Once all nails are applied use the file to round off and shape your new nails.
TIPS: Try to avoid over washing your hands, ie use rubber gloves when doin the washing up as excessive washing will weaken the glue and lead to them falling off. aplly a coat of clear nail varnich over your nails every other day to maintain the design and look of your nails.
Removal: Soak your nails in acetone solution, (most nail varnish removers will contain this) and your nails will soften and dissolve off- DO NOT peel your nails off as with them you will peel the tp layer of your nail and may risk rupturing your nail suface. Onece removed use more nail varnish remover on a cotton wool ball and rub over your nail surfaces to remove any excess glue. Buff will a nail buffer and your nails will be back to normal.
Product Performance: Used correctly false nails are a great way to update your look they provide instant glamour to anyone. This short style is perfect for busy people who wont have time to get use to longer ones. I am typing with them on right now with complete ease. These nails last about two weeks if looked after.
Recomendation: I used to spend £60+ a monthg on my nails now i spend £6 as i get two sets in one pack. Im glad ive switched to falsies as i get the same effect with very little effort, (takes about 10 mins to apply). Give them a try as theyre a great product!
Why I chose this product: I just purchased Bourjois 3D nudes for the first time. I am familiar with the entire Bourjois range and have loved their lipglosses for many years. I'm going on a mini break and wanted a lipglosss that would be useable at daytime or on a night out. This product seemed to provide this.
How much did it cost: Approx, £5.97 which isn't too bad for this line of makeup. I bought mine at Boots but you can pick it up at any store that has a Bourjois counter.
Product description: i chose no# 42 Rose Mythic as it had a light pink tone that would suit my skin type. It is also shimery which claims to enhance the 3d effect of your newly plumped up lips. This shimmer i suspected would be a good touh to see me through to an evening look. This product contains 7,5ml of lipgloss and lasts for 18 months.
Product Performance: This product comes with a brush applicator which i personally prefer to sponge applicators as it helps the lipgloss to remain fresher and useable for longer. The colour is really good and adds just a hint of pink shimmer to the lips. I would recommend this product to medium to olive colour skinned people, in order to complient their skin type. I wor ethis product to the cinema and then on for drinks and it lasted for a good few hours adding hydration to the lips as aopposed to the greasy stickiness that some lipglosses give. Also this product smells like parma violets (remember those sweets?).
My Recommendation: This is a definate contender in the lipgloss world. i would certainly buy this product again and recommend it to a friend.

Why I chose this product?
we've all seen the flashy advertising campaign on our TV sets- the ones with Gary linekar stealing the crisps! Well i was looking forward to try this flavour as it would have bben one i would have suggested if i couldv'e actually been bothered to enter. For ages after the product was launched all the shops I tried had sold out, so i was expecting great things of these little lovelies. eventaully my boyfriend got me a pack to try.
Where to find this product:
Like i have mentioned this is 'at the minute' a difficult product to get hold of as it is a limied edition as with the others in the series. I'd try local shops and supermarkets for a pack- they also come in a multi-pack of 6.
Pricey for a pack of crisps at 65p per pack!! i know crisps have gone up in price but thats a bit ridiculous for a 25g pack of crisps.
Classic Walkers packaging with a twist. this pack has a picture of a fish and chip shop on the front and a rosette saying Vote for Me!
Nutritional Information: (per pack)
Smell: These crisps smell fishy, very much like Scampi fries.
Taste: dissapointing, they didnt taste like fish and chips, i expected them to be more like salt and vinegar with a fish taste throen in. However, the taste is a bit damp, a bit like salmon sandwich paste.
If you like the sound of Salmon sanwich paste crisps then great but this product definatly wasn't for me and one i will not be purchasing again.
Hope this review was helpful to you xx
My little Jack Russel Terrier is called Spike- named after the dog in Tom and Jerry, i did want to call him Smudgie, how stupid, im glad i didn't. We have working Spaniels but really wanted a little dog to live inside- a lap dog definatly. We got in touch with a breeder and went to visit as soon as the pups were born. I immeadiatly liked little Spike, he was the runt of the litter as he was the tiniest and had a curly broken coat, as opposed to his smooth coated brothers and sisters!! So for the next few weekes we visited and waited for him to be old enough to be seperated from his mother so that we could take him home with us.
When we took him home he was so little that you could hold him in one hand and he would fall asleep all over the place. We had to feed him with a large spoon as he couldnt get to his food bowl without falling in!!!
When he started to grow he became a little more troublesome! I wouldn't recommend you to leave shoes around a Jack Russel puppy! They chew everything. Some can be a bit bitey when they are little but you can train them to stop this, and i urge that you do.
He wasnt a problem to house-train and he's so good now that he'll tap you and run to the door when he wants to go out. Another problem with Jack Russels is their temperament. He's quite yappy and would readily kill any rottweiler that crosses his path..oh dear. But at home he's so soppy and loving.
Also he had a little black spot on his pink nose which grew to cover all of his nose over the years. Spikes hair is so funny as well as if you let it grow he sort of resembles a tiny sheep.
Spike is such a loveable friend. I cant believe that the Kennel Club does not register the Jack Russel Terrier as a pedigree breed when they are so popular. I would urge anyone to get a Jack Russel as they are fantasic pets but are a little yappy and require some degree of training.
We've had Spike for nine years now and I couldn'y imagine life without my pal who run up to my room to wake me in the morning or snuggles up to my while we watch a film!!!
Why I chose this Product:
WEhen im on holiday, usually Spain i love nothing more than sitting in a resturant near a beach, sunset in the background, Glass of chilled Rose and a steaming pot of Mussels! bliss, yummy bliss. Anyway, Mussels are notoriously difficult to cook and theyre also difficult to get hold of, but youngs product solves this dilemna for me.
Who will like this product:
This product makes a brilliant starter, or i like it as a main course with some crusty bread or chips for dipping.
Where to find this product:
Most supermarkets stock this product. I have also picked them up at my local Spar shop.
£2.46 for 450g of mussels in their shells, which is a really reasonable price bearing in mind what you would pay for a small bowl in a resturant.
This product comes in a carboard box (kind of like a pizza box), the mussels in their shells and the sauce are founs inside in a plastic vacuumed pack.
Select whole mussels in a creamy garlic sauce made with fresh cream, parsley and shallots.
Contains Shellfish (molluscs), gluten, wheat and milk.
Each half pack contains, 99 Kcals, 0.3g of Sugar, 3.1g Fat, 1.6g of saturated fats, 2.0g of salt.
Mussels have an ocean fresh aroma and a silky smooth texture on the outside that gives way to a delicate, juicy inside that is mildly salty. the sauce is creamy and compliments the mussles excellently.
How to use:
Keep refrigerated once purchased. Do not freeze. As with any seafood it is important to stick to the best before date to get the best out of the product. There are various ways to cook this product, firstly, you can empty contents into a pan and cook at a high heat for 3 minutes, constantly stirring. Or you can empty contents into a microwavable dish and cook for 4 minutes on full power. I sometimes put this product into my steamer whilst still in its plastic packaging, this takes about 8 minutes. Once cooked enjoy by removing each mussel from shell as you eat, i ike to loosen the mussel and use the shell to scoop the sauce and use like a spoon. Do not eat any mussels that do not open once cooked!!!!
Youngs mussels are really nice and taste quite fresh. The sauce is beautiful and is just the right amount of garlic-y-ness.
I love this product, but understand that mussels aren't to everyones taste but at this price theyre worth a try if your curious. for those who do love them, on the other hand, make sure to look out for these on your next shopping trip!
Hope this review was helpful to you xx

Why I chose this product:
Im always on the lookout for a new fish food product to feed to my tropical fish, which includes a 3 foot foot tank of a variety of Tropical Fish including Mollies, Platys, Guppies, Barbs, Neon tetras and a rather large Pleco. Anyways I love tring different food types to boost their nutrition levels and cater to their dietry needs. Icame across this product in a Pets at Home store and thought it would be perfect and the packaging was quite innovative.
Who will like this product:
This product is suitable for all types of tropical fish.
Where to find this product:
This product is exclusive to Pets at Home Stores and can be found in their fish food aisle.
£2.49 for 30g of product. At the moment Pets at Home are running a promotional offer of two of their fish food products for £4.
This product comes in a click-out hand held package. Like a sweetener pot you can click it out into the water efficiently and without having to handle the food itself. Its silver and green and has pictures of tropical fish on the front ( Panda Catfish and Neon Tetras).
The pellet itself is brown, small and round.
How to use:
Just click the desired amount of prodcut into your fish tank (the amount that it takes your fish to ea in a few minutes). Do not overfeed, remember a fish stomach is the size of its eye, and fish dont know when to stop once theyve started. Remove any unused product as it will decay it the tank and possibly cloud the water.
My fish love this product but i do try to vary what I feed them so as not to bore them and to improve their nutrition levels. This product can be used as the main food for your fish and i ideal for fish at all levels of the tank beacuse once it absorbes water it will sink. The mini size is also excellent for smaller fish to eat.
The Pets at Home fish food range is top notch and comes at a fraction of the price of leading fish care brand products.
