Sanatogen pronatal are multivitamins and mineral supplement made especially for woman who are planning a pregnancy, during pregnancy and for after birth whilst breastfeeding. I picked up a tub of these whilst on a trip to the supermarket as they had a third off the price.
The packaging of the tablets is very pretty. The tub itself is white and has a very pretty pink lid. The label is also pink and has a picture of a very pregnant woman on the front. The tablets themselves are like a capsule in shape. They are quite large and are a dirty pink sort of colour. They do not have any odour which is good as I have had supplements which pong!
The pack contains all the information that you need and I will not write them all here as it is available on the tub. They do contain 18 vitamins and mineral which includes the very important folic acid. The instructions suggest you start taking the tablets three months prior to trying to conceive. I like the fact that the supplement is suitable for all stages throughout the pregnancy.
I have been taking them a week now and I cannot say whether they are effective. I know the folic acid is essential. I would rather try and do anything possible to be healthy in preparation so taking this everyday is a step to helping achieve this.
They do not contain gluten, lactose or yeast.
The tub that I picked up contained 30 of the tablets and cost just under £3 it had a third off as it was on promotion in the supermarket. I think they did a larger tub as well. They also make the pronatal supplement which contains omega 3 as well.
My skin is really suffering at the moment I think due to the cold snap and also from the central heating being on high. It really needed some reviving and so I chose this product from Lush when I went instore. It is called ocean sea salt.
It is packaged in a black pot which is recyclable. I picked up the smaller tub and this cost just under six pounds. It did seem like quite an expensive price to pay but as I read more I found that it would be suitable to use on the face as well as the body. This would cut out the need for individual products.
When you first open the tub you get the lovely smell of coconut which is mixed with a refreshing citrus smell. The rub itself feels very grainy with larger grains than my normal produts. I found it very easy to rub onto my skin. I paid particular attention to the tops of my arms as these are often rough and bumpy and the tops of my legs. After using the product my skin felt very smooth. I did feel the need to put on plenty of moisturiser after as it felt like it had a slighly drying effect on the skin.
I have yet to use it on my face just because I am worried it may be a bit too course. I would recommend it for the body and the product is very easy to use and smells fantastic. It also give the skin a healthy glow, either that or I rubbed too hard!
I have recently had a big order arrive from Lush and I had chosen a couple of these emotibombs to try.We have just had a new shower fitted and although I am more of a bath person I wanted to try it out. I thought it would be a nice way to make a shower a nicer experience. After just going back to work after the holidays this 'Up you get' emotibomb sounded perfect for getting my body back into the early, cold, miserable mornings.
As I have mentioned in my other emotibomb review you use the bar by breaking pieces off (if you are being economical) and placing the bomb on the floor of the shower. As the hot water hits the bar it fizzes and allows a lovely fragrance to come up into the shower.
The 'Up you get emotibomb' is described as being for people who have to force themselves out of bed in the morning and force themselves to look bright and cheerful. I found that the smell was not quite as strong as I have experienced with the bath products but still a lovely fragrance did fill the shower. It smelt very refreshing and very fresh. It was very pleasant and perfect for a morning shower as it was very reviving. Although the smell was pleasant I would not say it particularly awoke me up anymore than I normally am, but then I am not a morning person!
After previous experience with the bombs this time I used half the bomb. This did provide a slighlty stronger smell and prevented the bomb from being lost down the plughole. The one great thing that I did like about it is that it actually made the room smell very pleasant and this lasted until the next day which was an added bonus.
They are not very expensive they cost £1.91 but it reality it is money down the drain so to speak as it does not have any other benefits apart from a pleasant smell. I would buy again as a treat and have some in stock ready to take on my holiday.
My lips were in desperate need of some T.L.C. especially after the recent cold snap and the central heating being on to the max. Whilst on a recent visit to Lush I saw that they did a range of lip balms. I decided to pick up on that was called 'Lip service" as this is exactly what my lips needed. It was described as leaves lips feeling soft and silky.
The lip balm is packaged in a very nice silver pot. When you first open the balm you get a lovely waft of the balm. This balm contains cocoa butter which is well known for its moisturising properties. It also contains tangerine, apricot and lemon oils.
The balm is a lovely consistancy and is easily applied to the lips. It is of quite a hard consistancy not soft as some are. I found it was not too heavy as some balms are but it felt nice and light. It was not too sticky like some others that I have used. After using the balm for a little under a week I have noticed an improvement in the feel and appearance of my lips. They felt moisturised and were not as flaky as they had been. They felt nice and silky to the touch. Also with the balm you have the added bonus of the lovely fragance. I did not find that had to apply the balm too regularly as it seemed to stay on my lips for quite a long time. As an added side effect it also gave a nice sheen to my lips.
There are other lip balms available from Lush so there is something for everyone to try. They cost just over 4 pounds for a pot.
Creamy candy bath is a bubble bath bar from Lush.
My daughter picked up this bar as she loves the sweet smelling products from the Lush shop.It is a very pretty pink colour and has a nice little flower type decoration on the top which looks like a sweet but I would not advise eating it!
I like using these bars as the amount of the bar that you need to use to make a large amount of bubbles is quite small. As mentioned before in my previous reviews of the bubble bath bars,' You just need to break a small amount from the bar and put it under a warm running tap. It immediately bubbles and a lovely scent arises. The quality of the bubbles which it produces is great. They feel thick and luxurious. I am also very pleased with the amount of time the bubbles last. I stayed in for at least half an hour or so and I still had plenty of bubbles. After the bath my skin felt nice and soft and my skin had a nice subtle scent to it. I also love the fact that just by having the bar in your bathroom it fragrances the room. '
The bar which is bright pink colours the bath water a great pink colour. I would say that younger girls would love it as it has a very sweet candy smell to it. It is very similar to the snow fairy shower gel fragrance. The scent stays on your body after you have had your bath.
Although the bars are not cheap they last a long time and make a pleasant change from the usual bubble bath products. They cost just under 3 pounds.
We recently had a dishwasher fitted in our kitchen in preparation for the holiday period. We gained advice from the mother in law as too what dishwasher tablets we should use and was told these are the best. So off we went and purchased a box.
The finish Powerball tablets we got were packaged in a mainly blue coloured cardboard box. We chose the Classic cleaning tablets. On the front there is a picture of a shiny glass and lemons cut in half. The pack contained 30 of the tablets and was called Lemon sparkle.
The tablets are individually wrapped and are very easy to open. The tablet itself is very pretty. The tablet is white and blue with a red ball in the middle. The Powerball claims to soak and soften tough food residues.
To be economical we always make sure our dishwasher is full to the brim before we doo a wash. This ultimately results in many of the plates having dried on food. I have been very impressed with the Powerball. We have never had a problem with plates or cutlery being left dirty. Even baking trays come out spotless. Stains have been removed from cups and spoons. The glasses that we put in have come out clean smear free and shining. Baby bottles come out fresh and clean too. The dishwasher always smells fresh and clean when we open the door. I cannot say I can really detect a lemon scent but it does smell fresh. We will continue to use these tablets as they do seem to be very powerful and effective.
They are a bit more expensive than supermarkets own brands but are often on special offers. For the box of 30 tablets we paid £4.69. Finish do make other powerball tablets as well as the classic ones.
This is a product made by Lush. It is a shower gel but very different to the usual gels it is in a jelly form. After using Whoosh shower jelly I decided to try Big calm.
As described by Lush,' the jelly can be frozen, chilled and jiggled.' They are cool to play with as well as being great products. Basically to use you just break a small amount of the jelly of and lather up and apply to your body.
After using Whoosh shower jelly I decided to try Big calm. It sounded like it would remind me of my holidays which is something I need on these cold days.
It is a very pretty colour made up from different shades of blue and white jus like an ocean wave. It is packaged in brown cardboard boxes and is sold in different sizes so you can pick up the amount of jelly that you will use. Big calm is described as smelling like a tropical cocktail. It has a lovely fragrance of coconut, pineapple and orange. The jelly leaves your skin beautifully soft. It also leaves a pleasant fragrance on your skin.
I have found that the jelly can be a bit difficult to use as it is jelly! Still is does make a nice change. I have also found that it is great to use when you are shaving.
There are several different jellies to choose from. The Lush store often has them out on display so you can smell and look at them. They are not cheap but they are well worth it as a little goes a very long way. Plus there is the unusual factor in it which makes a pleasant change. For 100g of the product it costs £2.15
We have just had a new shower fitted and although I am more of a bath person I wanted to try it out. I saw these Emotibombs in Lush and thought it would be a nice way to make a shower a nicer experience. As the party season as just ended I thought I would try out the Too drunk Emotibomb.
You use the bar by breaking pieces off (if you are being economical) and placing the bomb on the floor of the shower. As the hot water hits the bar it fizzes and allows a lovely fragrance to come up into the shower.
The Too Drunk Emotibomb is described as 'hangover relief for the shower'. I found that the smell was not quite as strong as I have experienced with the bath products but still a lovely fragrance did fill the shower. It smelt very refreshing of peppermint and oranges. It was very pleasant and perfect for a morning shower as it was very reviving. I was aware of the fact that I might lose it down the plug hole before gaining all the benefits of the bomb so this was a bit of pain.
I think the next time I use the Emotibomb I will perhaps use a bigger chunk to hopefully gain more of a stronger smell. The one great thong that I did like about it is that it actually made the room smell very pleasant and this lasted until the next day which was an added bonus.
I would try the other bombs that they do in the future. They are not terribly expensive they cost £1.91 but you do wander if you would be better off buying one of the smelly gels instead as you get the benefit from a skin product as well as the nice smell.
Toner tablets are a fairly new addition to the Lush range. When I was placed an order via the internet last week they had popped one of these in as a free sample to try. The toner tablet that I had was the Vitamin E tablet.
Lush are always trying to cut down on packaging where possible and this tablet eliminates a need for any packaging. Lush are very well known for their bath ballistics and this toner tablet is described as a tiny ballistic for your face. The Vitamin E tablet contains lavender essential oil, omega 3 oil, and vitamin E.
It was a smallish circular disc which was a chalky white colour and had the letter 'E' in the top of the tablet. I cleansed my face thoroughly and then set about following the instructions that has been supplied. You just get a bowl of hot water and pop a tablet in. You then cover your head with a towel and use the steam from the bowl to tone your skin.
I found the smell from the tablet very relaxing. The lavender smell was just right and not too powerful. After using my skin felt refreshed and very soft. It also appeared smoother. I have only used one of the tablets and would think that you would need to use on a fairly regular basis to gain the full benefits.
An added bonus from using the tablets is that it make the room nicely fragranced.
I look forward to trying out the other toner tablets that they do which includes Vitamin C and a tea tree toner. The tablets cost 72p each or you can get a weeks supply for £4.84. The advantage of having a week's course is that there is the option to choose a variety pack so you can use what tablet suits your skin at the time.
My Mum recently received a Christmas gift box and in it there was a Lush jingle Spells ball. It looked so pretty when I saw it she said I could have it and try it out. She knows I love a good long relaxing smelly bath.
Bath ballistics are as shown above round balls of smelly fizz which also colours the bath water. They are very easy to use. You just run your bath and when the bath has run just drop the ballistic into it. Then you jump in and the ball fizzles away.
The Jingle spells ballistic is described as a hangover cure. It contains tangerine that clears your head and refreshes the spirit, fennel oil to detox the body and ylang ylang oil to relax the mind. The fragrance of the ball is lovely and very relaxing. It also leaves your skin feeling very soft. I love the colour of the ball it is a nice purple colour. It contain lots of little foil stars which as the ball dissolves fizzle out of the ball. The bath is then full of little stars. Although this looks very pretty the odd star can give you a little jab every now and again due to the pointed spikes on the stars. The stars however do not stick to your skin when you get out from the bath. They do take a bit of wiping though to remove them from the bath tub.
Although this particular ballistic came in a gift set the balls are normally priced at just under the £3 mark. They are expensive but very nice as a special treat. I have heard that some people smash up the ball to make it last longer. Personally I would not bother with this as it sounds messy and not half as relaxing as just throwing the ball in. The jingle spells ball is only available over the Christmas period but Lush makes much other ballistics to try out.
Flosty gritter is a party bubble bath bar. (yes thats the correct name, something to do with the product developer getting the 'r'and 'l' mixed up and the named just stayed) It catches your eye in the store as it is bright pink and covered in glitter.
I like using these bars as the amount of the bar that you need to use to make a large amount of bubbles is quite small. You just need to break a small amount from the bar (being very careful as this particular bubble bath bar is very crumbly and you end up with pink glitter all over the bathroom!)and put it under a warm running tap.
The bar which is bright pink colours the bath water a great pink colour. It has nice a great glitter to it. I was worried I might get covered in glitter but the glitter does not stick on your skin. This particular bar has a lavender and vanilla scent and is very nice. The scent stays on your body after you have had your bath.
This is one of the more expensive bars and it costs £3.19. It is perfect for a special occasion as it makes you feel great as you are getting ready.

The jelly can be frozen, chilled and jiggled. They are cool to play with as well as being great products. Basically to use you just break a small amount of the jelly of and lather up and apply to your body.
The most recent jelly that I bought was called Whoosh. It is described as an anti-jetlag jelly for keeping you calm, cool and focused. Well I am not jet lagged but liked the thought it might help to get over the party season. Plus I loved the smell!
It is a bright blue jelly. It is packaged in brown cardboard boxes and is sold in different sizes so you can pick up the amount of jelly that you will use. The Whoosh jelly has reviving effects of grapefruit, lemon and lime and contains the detoxifying effects of rosemary. I love the smell as it smells so clean and fresh and really wakes you up. It's perfect for a morning shower to get you woken up for the day. The jelly leaves your skin beautifully soft. It also leaves you smelling very fresh and the fragrance lasts throughout the day.

Ryvita Limbos are a new baked crispy snack. After all the over indulgence over the festive period and a holiday in the sun looming when I saw these on special offer in the supermarket I thought I would give them a try.
The flavour I tried was cheese and onion. They are packaged in a multipack which contains 5 packets. The packet is green in colour and has Limbos written on the front in large letters. There is also a small picture showing you what the snack looks like.
When you first open a pack of the Limbos there is a waft of the cheese and onion flavour. The Limbos themselves are small strips of a similar consistency of normal Ryvita. Also do to the size of the Limbos you get loads of them in a packet. This makes you think you are getting a very good snack for the small calorie content. The flavour of the cheese and onion is very pleasant. I was very surprised at how nice these snacks were. Even my daughter likes them. They are not as dry or hard as I imagined they would be. I am very happy to eat a bag of these in place of usual crisps. The great thing is that they are made of ingredients which are wholegrain.
Each bag contains only 63 calories and contains 18 grams of the product. Perfect for when you are watching your weight. The snacks only contain 3 percent fat. They are made from wholegrain. They do not contain any artificial colours or preservatives.
They are a great price at the moment and on special offer in the supermarket for £1 a multipack. They also do other flavours which I am keen to try.
This is a fresh face mask made by Lush and is called Brazened Honey.
I love looking at the fresh face masks in Lush. They are set out on a special ice packed display counter. They look and small good enough to eat. The mask are packaged in recyclable black plastic pots.
The Brazened Honey is a detoxifying face mask which claims to refresh tired skin. This sounded perfect for me so I purchased a pot. The face mask is a lovely creamy lemon sort of colour. It is a lovely consistency and very easy to apply to your face. You then just leave the mask on for 5-10 minutes and rinse off.
I was very happy with this face mask. The mask tingled as I applied to my face but did not feel uncomfortable in any way. It really gave my skin a deep clean and felt refreshed and detoxified after I had used it. The lovely thing about the mask is the lovely smell. The honey, citrus fruits and spices really do make it a special treat.
The face mask contains enough of the product to apply two masks, however I find that you can use less to make the product last a bit longer. The one thing to bear in mind is that as they are fresh products the expiry date is not as long as usual face masks. You store them in the fridge and have about 2 weeks to us them up.
There are many other face masks available, each of which has a specific job in mind. From anti bacterial to protecting against the signs of aging. I cant wait to try some more of the face masks.
For a 75g tub I paid £4.84.
I visited Lush a couple of weeks ago with my 11 year old daughter in tow. She loves looking around Lush and I always let her choose a couple of items as a treat. One of the items she chose was Snow Fairy shower gel.
I can see why she spotted it as the colour is lovely. A pretty pink colour perfect for girly girls. It also has a little bit of sparkle added in which makes it perfect for the party season. It is packaged in a plastic bottle which is recyclable and has an easy to use flip top lid.
When you first open the gel you get a very sweet smell which is described as candy floss. When you lather up the gel in your hands it make brilliant bubbles and is perfect to use all over your body. We also like the fact that you can use the gel as a shampoo as well. This results in a super sweet smelling daughter!
The gel leaves the skin feeling lovely and soft. It has a great fragrance and leaves skin with a sweet perfumed smell. You do have to shake the bottle very well to release the sparkles as they tend to sink to the bottom of the tub and stick there.
I have used the gel as well to try it out and although I do like the scent I would say it is more suited to younger people due to the sweet candy like smell.
The gel is only around over the festive period and I have heard that people but this product in bulk as they like to use it all year round. The size bottle we picked up was 100g and cost just under £3. This is quite expensive for such a small bottle but it seems to be lasting a long time.
