My most recent purchase has been shade 'mushroom' which is a light grey brown colour. I bought this for around 3 pounds.
I always go to barry m for nail polish as it really keeps up with the latest trends and has lots of different colours to choose from. The often have deals on in big stores like super drug and boots which means I Normally buy more than one as you can't go wrong price wise. They come in neat little bottles which is also good as it means when a colour goes out of fashion you don't have loads to use up. Compared to other similar brands the pricing is really good and it means you can funk up a boring outfit easily and keep up with the latest fashions.
The quality of the product itself I would say is average. It does go on really easily and the colour is strong and intense. It is fine for the night out or event you are going to but after a couple of days it does chip quite easily. I would argue though that this doesn't really matter as the whole ethos of the brand is about chopping and changing your look and keeping up to date. If you're looking for something long lasting for every day wear I would say go for another brand.
I bought one of these for my new home from a discount store for around 2 pounds. I don't like the look of normal air freshness so went for this.
Appearance - I think the idea is for the air fresher to look more like an ornament and it is the style of a pebble or stone. Behind the plastic packaging it looks really good but I was slightly disappointed when I got it out. It felt really plasticky and was really light so didn't feel brilliant quality. When put in my living room though the effect is good and you can't tell it's plastic if you don't touch it.
Air fresher - the mechanism of the air fresher is really good and all you do is press the 'stone' down and scent squirts out of the top. I press mine all the time and it works perfectly every time. The smell is absolutely gorgeous too. It's really sweet smelling but not overpowering and doesn't smell like toilet air freshness. One tint squirt does my whole living room and kitchen and lasts too.
Price - you can get cheaper spray air freshness for a cheaper price but they tend to be overpowering and not last long. They also come in ugly bottles meaning you can't use them when you please. I'd say this price is good for what you get.
It is easy to change your whole look by putting a splash of colour on your lips. Barry M keeps up to date with the latest trends in lip colour and offers a huge variety of shades. My most recent purchase was 'Sunset' No. 151. It is a orange coral red which is extremely on trend at the moment.
It cost £4.99 which, compared to other lipsticks on the market, is at the cheap end. The packaging it comes in is a matte black with a simple Barry M logo on the top. For a cheap product, it feels really good quality and is also a nice size so can fit in your clutch bag on a night out.
I did my make up and applied my new lipstick last. It glides on really smoothly and the cream texture means it doesnt dry out and end up looking flakey. This also means that your lips look really healthy and it has a nice sheen to it so is slightly shiny. You can also put lipgloss over the top if you want a really shiny effect. The colour is also really intense and you dont need much of the product to get the desired effect.
After a few hours the lipstick did need topping up however and it came off quite easily when drinking etc. I dont see this as much of a problem as you just take the lipstick wherever you go and for the price its worth having to reapply. For people wanting a long lasting solution that you just have to put on in the morning, this isnt the right product for you.
I got this bronzer because i noticed a lot of my friends had it and said it was good. The product comes in quite a large box made out of a thick high quality cardboard material, and it doesnt include a mirror or a brush. I bought mine for around £8 which is about average for this sort of brand.
The first thing i noticed about the product was the packaging. It is really different to other brands that normally come in a round pot and it opened like a book with some writing on the front. I like the packaging although it is quite large and might not fit into small make up bags. The bronzer itself is moulded into chocolate looking rectangular pieces which is also really interesting. The whole product is based on chocolate and so the next thing i noticed was the smell. It literally smells like gorgous perfumed white chocolate! I think this is a massive plus for a bronzer as it is something you use all over your face and neck and i prefer to avoid the make up smell.
You dont get a brush with it so i applied it with my own. It has a really soft texture therefore it goes on really smoothly and evenly. I use a bronzer to give myself an allover darker appearance, but some people use it to get that shimmery holiday glow. Although this has some sparkle in it, it is quite matte in appearance which suits me perfectly - but it might not work for some people. It is quite subtle so to contour and add more colour in certain areas you need a few coats. Once it is applied i found that it lasted for ages (until i took my make up off that night) and didnt run or come off in certain areas as some cheap bronzers do. The smell makes it really luxurious to use and gives you a clean and fresh feeling.
The kit contains three different eyeshadows (a light pink, a grey and a dark grey/black), along with two eyebrow gels (a brown and a pink), with some tweezers, an eyeliner and a double ended brush. It is really compact and comes in a lovely little box with instructions on the back. It is a fairly expensive product compared to others on the market, but i dont think there are many products that group different items together to create one look in the way Benefit does.
The first thing i noticed when i received this as a present was the design and quirkiness of it. This is something that Benefit does really well and that's why their products make such good gifts. I have to be honest though, i had seen this set before and had held off buying it because of the price tag, and i was quite shocked at how small everything was - i thought 'you dont get much for your money'.
When i tried it out for the first time I was pleasantly surprised. There are instructions on the back of the box which are really easy to follow and great for people who arent used to make up. I followed the instructions exactly and the results were really good. You acheive a fairly natural smokey eye look rather than a full on night time look. The eyeshadows are lovely colours that will suit everyone and they are good quality pigments, meaning that you dont need a lot. They are also really easy to blend but do stay put all day, and dont go into the creases of your eyes as some other brands do. The eyebrow gel is really good too. You use the other end of the brush to apply it which is angled for you to achieve a precise look. It really defines your eyebrows without the 'drawn on effect'. You then put the pink gel on your brow bone which again defines your eyebrows highlights your bone. The gels are really easy to use and stay put all day too.
I am a huge fan of eyeliner and i wear it every day. When i saw the one in the benefit box my first thought was that it wasnt going to be brilliant (i think i got that impression because it is small and just a component part of the set). But i was so surprised, the colour is really intense black and it can be used inside your eye or on the top lid. It doesnt run where ever you decide to put it and, again, you dont need much for a great effect. The brush and tweezer included in the set are also really good quality and mean you can really achieve the whole look that is presented on the box.
I would say it is a great addition to any make up kit and is great for taking away with you as all your 'eye' products are together in one box meaning you only have your face to worry about (ie you dont have to take lots of different pots, pencils and brushes to get a good look). Although it seems expensive for a small box, the products are such good quality that they last ages. I've had mine over a year and its hardly gone down.
The only downfall about this product is that some people (including me) like the smokey eye look to be really dramatic and intense and you cant really achieve this with the benefit set. It is more of a day set and i think the 'smokin' eyes' title is slightly misleading. All in all a great product if your willing to pay for it.
Bourjois do this in many shades - i think there are at least 10 - so its is really easy to find a colour that suits you. I chose 'rose do'r' as i like my cheeks quite pink. It is a baked product so it isnt like other powder blushes - it is harder to the touch and doesnt break as easily. It comes in a little round pot with a brush inside and a mirror which are both really useful. The first thing i noticed about the product was the gorgeous smell. It doesnt have a typical 'make up smell' but a perfumed girly smell so its a joy to use. The second thing was that the brush was better quality than i expected - it is curved to fit in the pot and the brushes are like the more expensive sort of brushes rather than the synthetic cheaper sort. I used the brush provided to apply the blusher over the top of my foundation. I found i only needed to coat the brush once and that was more than enough. The powder really 'sticks' to your face but yet is easy to blend. This means that it lasts all day. i have had experience with other blushers in the same price range that are very powdery and look great when you first put them on but then fade straight away. The colour was also really nice and worked with my skin tone to create a natural look. The curvature of the brush meant that it fitted perfectly around my cheeks and was really easy to work with. I have used Chanel blusher before and i would say this is very similar to that, and for the price you cant go wrong.
I have used fake tan for a number of years now and have tried them all! I normally use the proper lotion which you sleep in overnight and it gives you a tan that just fades (you cant wash off), but i also wanted an instant one so that i could 'top up' before i went out. I got the Rimmel one as it is a brilliant price and i had heard good reviews from my friends about it. It comes out of the tube and is very dark so dont be alarmed. I use a mit to put it on which just makes sure it is even and i wouldnt recommend using your hands as its quite hard to get off. It looks nice on top of a base tan and adds some depth to your colour and also some shimmer, making it look like a natural holiday tan. I wouldnt, however, use it on its own with no base tan underneath. The colour isnt deep enough and because it is instant it rubs off fairly easily and comes off with water. The only other thing i would say is that it leaves you feeling slightly sticky and doesnt really soak into your skin well.
I have used Loreal Lash Architect for years now as i believe it is the best in the market by far, even compared to higher brands such as Dior. However, they have now changed it with chunkier packaging etc but i think that the formula of the actual mascara has changed too. Is now more 'plastic' in feel and doesn't separate and lengthen lashes as well. Having said that, i would say it is still up there with being one of the best in its category. If you want long, separated lashes rather than thick then i would go for this one. It lasts ages too and the black is really intense. It is easy to use and you dont need hours to get your lashes into the correct position, just a few sweeps of the brush and its done. The packaging is really nice and modern too making it a good addition to your make up bag.
I chose this product because i just needed something that i could put in my bag and wear to work. I also really liked the colours in the set - i have dark brown eyes and very dark hair so i often go for browns as they complement my skin tone. Although i didnt pay much for it (about £5 from what i remember), i was fairly underwhelmed when i tried it for the first time. The colours werent strong at all and i found you really had to use a lot to get the colour to be intense. It was also quite powdery so when you did put a lot on, only some of it 'stuck' to your eye and the rest fell onto my face! If you spend a bit of time using it though you can get a really nice effect by blending the different tones, and the colours all complement each other. I would say get this for an every day cheap item, but not for use when you want to make a statement with your eyes. For the price, though, it is a lot better value than some competitors - to say you get four colours.
When me and my boyfriend both moved out of our parents houses we had to start from scratch so inevitably couldnt afford expensive furniture. We went to ikea and we bought this coffee table as a bit of a last minute thing as it was cheap and we needed something to fill up our front room. The first thing i would say i noticed about this was how good the quality of the veneer was. We got it in oak and its a really nice colour - not too orangy and cheap looking like some veneers can be. Secondly, it was really easy to assemble - just a matter of screwing in the legs and then slotting on the shelf below. Thirdly, its really good quality when assembled - we both use it to put our feet on and have done for some years now and its still as good as new. The only thing i would say is the shelf underneath is quite thin so does bend if you put a lot of weight on it.
I wrote off my new car last year and i just wanted to buy something fairly cheap that was a 'good little runner'. There was a Corsa in the garage near my house for £2,000 so i bought it. It is the 2002 version. Firstly, i would say the design is really good. I like my cars to look nice and sporty, but like many dont want the insurance to be sky high! So the great thing about the SXI version is that its got all the sports extras such as alloys, spoiler etc, but it is only a 1.2 litre so doenst cost you an arm and a leg to insure. Secondly, i have to drive quite a long way to work every day so wanted something that is good on petrol and reliable. I have only had it for one year and there have been no problems with it (touch wood) and the fuel consumption is really low. I would recommend this car to any young person who wants to look good but not pay ridiculous amounts for insurance.
I decided to treat myself to one of these when i got a new job and i dont need to tell you that they are obviously expensive! You can get a good leather bag for a fraction of the price or you could even get a near enough plastic copy for pounds! But they are not the same! First of all, the quality of the leather that mulberry uses is second to none. Its thick and luxurious - I've had mine for a number of years, use it every day, and the quality is still as good as when it was new. Secondly, the design of it is elegant, sophisticated, simple and timeless - it goes with absolutely everything. I wear it to work, out to dinner, clubbing, everything! Then there's how you feel when you use it. Because it says mulberry on the front its obvious it is designer, but it isnt too loud or obnoxious so you never feel over the top. Perfect bag.
I have recently moved out of my parents house into one with my boyfriend so obviously had to buy everything from scratch - an expensive job - so we took a trip to ikea. We needed a lot of storage for our bedroom as we have a lot of 'stuff' between us! We got two of these bedside drawers and didnt expect much as they were only £35 each. We got them home and my boyfriend assembled them. I often find with self - assembly stuff that they arent as sturdy as other ready made things but after he put them together they felt really solid and good quality. All the sliders and mechanisms are really good quality and the instructions were easy to follow - he did each one in about half an hour. We got them in the oak finish (there are a range of different finishes you can choose from) and they look really good. They look really authentic for veneer. We have had them for about 3 months now and they are absolutely jam packed with stuff but still feel brand new. Dont hesitate to buy them - only £35!
My boyfriend has recently been to America and bought this back for me as a present. The first thing i noticed about it when i opened it was the gorgeous packaging. I have had Juicy Couture products before and they do package things really well. The bottle feels really high quality and it has a big bow and charms hanging of the bottle top. It almost looks like an ornament in my bedroom and i think this is a big plus when buying perfume as people often have them out on their dressing tables. I sprayed it on and i expected it to be a fairly run of the mill teenage sort of scent but was actually really surprised. The smell is mature and feminine, but still girly and young at the same time. It also smells really sweet but not overpoweringly so. It stays on too and doesnt wear off like some of its counterparts. I would recommend this to anyone.
I have tried absolutely loads of perfumes, and i always ask for perfume as a present at Christmas and on birthdays, however, i always have had difficulty finding one that stays put that's not too pungent and 'old lady' smelling. My mum just bought me Eternity for Easter and im already a massive fan. The first time i used it i wasnt expecting much. Im not sure why - i think it was that it wasnt chanel or dior or a similar high end perfume brand (as these are the ones i find smell the nicest and last the longest). So i just sprayed a bit on before i went to work and off i went. However, i kept catching whiffs of the gorgeous scent all day. It smells really clean and feminine, yet would be good for an evening too. I have been using it every day since Easter and i can still notice when i have it on (i think this is a massive plus for perfumes as you want to be able to smell them on yourself - not get too used to them!). The price is good as well as it compares to the top brands of perfume that you can pay over the odds for. All in all, i would say it is a perfect choice for all girly girls of all ages!
