Litter and littering well what can we say about the general mess in this country when it comes to the subject of littering wherever you go you see it in the park, beach, street we just can't seem to get away from it. Now the main question is where does the route of the problem lie well it is us well not all of us but those who are to blame know who they are. When I was a kid I spent a lot of time in the countryside with my grandparents and we used to go around for our walks around the roads and fields with carrier bags to collect the litter dropped by people out of their cars because they just can't be bothered to find a bin when they get to wherever they are going. I took my child to the beach a few weeks ago yes it was wet and cold but still fun and I was appalled to see the amount of tin's and bottles just lying on the beach mostly beer and wine bottles which just goes to show what type of person is leaving them. Do they care that children are playing on the beach and may cut themselves of course not all they are concerned with is their own selfish need to rid themselves of rubbish they would otherwise have to carry to a nearby bin. On the streets even we see it everyday from smashed bottles to crisp packets even in some cases TV's and other household rubbish that should be taken to a dump to avoid danger to others and even in some cases with respect for the environment i.e for recycling. Unfortunatly the youth of today really has become lazy and seem to have no quarms about dumping their rubbish on the ground instead of holding it for a few minutes until they can reach a bin. It is not only youth's but I feel from what I see it is mainly them and somebody has really not clamped down on them as young children and taught them whats right and wrong after all how can anyone see dumping your crap on the floor as right. People found littering should be taken to court and face huge fines for thi
s kind of thing then maybe the councils in this country could put a wee bit more money into the street cleansing services. I live in one of the bouroughs of london and it has the highest council tax rate in the country and although we see people out cleaning the streets all the time it does not seem to make a difference harsher penalties are the only way to discourage it after all the best way to punish people like this is by hitting them in the pocket then they may think twice about it in future.
Manchester United what has happened? Well this is a question that I find myself asking every weekend when once again Manchester United slip up be it through a Bartez mistake or just a weak display. I am now firmly of the belief that Manchester United will win absolutly nothing this season and why well the fact that Sir Alex Ferguson seems to have put the Premiership and F.A Cup at the bottom of his want list has not helped and in fielding two completely different sides for all compotions he has weakened his sides morale and the team no longer get the chance to bond and gel together by playing regularily together. If you add on top of this his distinct lack of desire that has been so often on display in the past(maybe he is past it)you have quite clearly a reciepe for disaster and that I feel is why Man United will fail this season. Summed up they simply think themselves better than the Premeirship and this is what has tripped them up and what a shame to see such a talented side go to waste. With players like Solskjear,Cole etc etc sitting it out on the bench and players like Quentin Fortune getting regular football he is not only wasting valuable talent(lets face it a football career does not last long) not to mention undermining and insulting every team they play and robs the fans of a truely played out game. Man United come back down to earth you are not that good anymore.
If you like going out on day trips wherever you are in the country then try www.daysoutuk.com for great money saving vouchers on nearly all the attraction across the country. I logged on and being a Chealsea football club fan I got %10 off entry to any of their games which is fantastic but there are also great discounts and 2 4 1 offers on many of the most popular theme parks and zoos etc all around the country. The site is very easy to get around all you do is select the area in which you want to go and they will give you a list of all the discounts or special offers you can get only available to users of the site. Each place will have a little symbol top click and then just print out the voucher and take it along to wherever you may be going. This site is also great because if your stuck for an idea of where to go there are thousands all with a direct link to their official website so you can check them out first. For those with kid's there are loads of Adult pays children free offers of which I have used many and never had any questions on producing these vouchers as I have had with other sites offering vouchers and discounts. So go on save yourself some dosh and make them happy at the same time.
I had avoided watching this film for ages but the other day there was nothing else on the TV and I thought I would give it a go even though I can't usually watch horror films. Wesley Snipes is Blade a Vampire concieved because his mother was bitten whilst pregnant and he really has it in for those nasty neck nibblers. He gets saved from a life of blood sucking by a vampire hunter and is given injections to stave off the blood lust. Armed to the back teeth with silver stacks and bullets he goes out hunting and in all cases destroying those horrid undead suckers. Things get a bit difficult when a doctor is bitten by one of his victims who survived but was left slightly crispy. Blood and exploding vamps follows as he is now hunted by a young out of control vamp who wants to release the blood god. Things take a twist as Blade finds out that his mother has joined the ranks of the undead and puts him in a hard predicament. I won't tell you what happens in the end but lets just say there is a lot of blood and loads of excitement. This film really gave me a pleasent suprise and was far more bareable than I thought it would be so if you don't mind a bit of blood and the occasional jump then slide it in and enjoy(but try to have somebody there because you don't know whos behind the couch)
I am sick to the back teeth of seeing senseless waste every time I see people throwing out their rubbish. With all the facilities available for recycling things from tin cans to mobile phones why don't the government bring in laws about recycling at least paper and rubbish. Nearly anywhere you go in Europe you see people recycling and even bins for specific rubbish making it easier to recycle. In all the ares I have lived in there are recycling centres or bins nearby so why are we so lazy in this country. What i do is have different boxes in the shed for different types of recycling and every so often run it down to the recycling centre and unload it all, does not take much time and does so much for the environment. If the government made it easier for these lazy so and so's by suppling bins and then introduced laws at least on paper and plastic we could cut the amount of rubbish we produce in this country drasticly. I also get really annoyed with packaging companies who seem to find it necessary to over pack some of their produce and this in turn all adds to littering and build up on our fill sites. We all need to do our bit for the environment and it is such an easy thing to do,we have to think about the future of this planet if not for us then our children,my daughter who is only 2 and a half already knows about recycling and tells us off if we forget so hopefully in the future she will continue to take care.If she can do it so can YOU
The other day I was sitting down watching some trashy soap opera when my head really began to itch and I thought oh no not nits so off I toddled to Boots to get some of that horrible lotion my mum used to put on our heads when we had lice. When I got to Boots I was suprised with the amounts of lotions and potions they had for headlice,I needed something that I could also put on a 2 year olds head because she was bound to have them as well and the lady behind the counter told me well my partner as his head is shaved so I sent him in that the FULL MARKS brand was good for all the family so he departed minus £9.95 and we went home to DE-LOUSE and what a pleasant suprise I got when he pulled out a mousse and not just a mousse but one that did not have that horrific smell to it. He put it in my hair and washed it out 30 mins later and bye bye lice they simply fell out. When my daughter got home from the child minders who had been informed I was dreading trying to put it in her hair but for a little girl who sreams when she has her hair washed she was absolutly brilliant and did not seem to mind at all. For all those parents who need to or will need to soon try this especially for the littles as it was great and almost enjoyable for them haveing loads of bubbly stuff put in their head. Oh and it really does work a treat I will vouch for that. A bit pricey but if it works and I can use it on the whole family then thats fine by me.
Now this opinion is not going to get great ratings as it will be short and sweet but I hope it helps some of you out there. I don't know about anyone out there but I am forever the losing the remote control for the telly and it really may just be laziness but good when your sitting there with a cuppa and toast you don't want to have to get up. Usually when the bodger as I call it goes missing it is found under the sofa or behind a cuboard but this time it really has gone on the missing list my suspision is my daughter as she is forever hiding things and finding it funny watching me lifting everything up in desperation to turn over to Eastenders. I went to loads of shops to find a replacement bodger but none would operate the teletext so I asked at Currys if they had one that would and they put me onto Partmaster Direct so I gave them a call and within 2 days I had the right bodger for my telly. They do replacement equiptment for loads of other things to from Computer parts to washing machine bits. So if that bodger has gone missing and ladys that does not mean the old man who is useless at DIY then give them a call and they will deliver it pronto. Partmaster Directs number is 0870 9090 444
When my daughter was born we got no sleep at all but after about 6 months she started to sleep early and through the night but I was always paranoid that she may choke or something horrific like that so I insisted that we get baby monitors for the bedroom and what a god send they were. The fact that you could hear ever little murmor was reassuring and if she did wake up then I would know straight away. Not only that but when we had friends around for dinner we could sit in the garden and have a few drinks whilst always being able to hear what was going on upstairs. Baby monitors don't have to be expensive we picked ours up out of argos for about £20.00 a tomy roamer set so we could take it where we like and always be able to hear. You can buy ones where you can talk back but I found this very excessive and would much rather comfort her with a cuddle than telling her to be quite over the speaker. If you are a panicer like we were then i suggest you invest in one of these it really will save you endless nights of worry and allow you to sleep safe in the knowledge that if anything happens you will hear it,Certainly a must for new parents.
Now don't get me wrong I am as horrified as the next person about the killing of all those innocents in the world tarde centre bombings but is blowing the hell out of a country that has no set army and is full of starving people going to accomplish anything. Yes those who are responsible must pay for what they have done but I fear that the only people who are going to get hurt are the poor people of afganistan who are already suffering enough and after all the large majority are only doing as they are told by the Taliban(which is not recognised as the ruling body)because of the atrcious acts of violence and torture dished out to those who do not comply, such as beating a amn till you can't tell if he is wearing clothes or not then leaving him to die in a room filled with insects and all sorts of other things, crucifixion, salt rubbing are all methods employed by the Taliban. I feel that the Taliban should be overhtrown but bombing will certainly not accomplish this and what the US and our forces need to do is work with the Northern Allience and take out all the power holds and camps on land yes this may cost many lives but at least they will be the lives of those wishing to fight and not those who are just trying to feed themselves and their families. I for one would like a solution to this that could end with no bloodshed and the ecvil Bin Laden handed over but unfortunatly this no longer well never did look like happening. Extremists are using all this to carry out their sick inflatted beliefs and innocent people as usual are going to die why must we continue to kill each other in the name of religion or peace i will never know but I only hope that someday we will all live together in peace if we don't destroy each other first.
Now I have not been an angel all my life but one thing that has never appealled to me is the wilful damaging of others property just out of boredom or spight. My mother had a wall built around her garden the other week and it looked great that was until after the first night and in the morning it had been completely covered in graffeti. The builders came back to finish the job and cleaned it all off for her but no sooner had they done that the morning after it had been covered again.Mindless and just done to cause others distress I feel like waiting for them over night and killing the little sod's. Also another prime example was the graffeting of my partners rugby club house and for no reason what so ever it was torched to the ground and the players had all saved up to erect it from previously being destroyed by mindless yob's.They don't feel that it is worth doing again as it would probably mean throwing good money after bad. I really have no idea why people carry out such acts of mindless destruction maybe the lack of playing areas or discipline from parents after all these kids are only about 13 and doing these things way after midnight. All I know is that it really has to stop and punishments dished out for those commiting these acts.
Here are just a few tip's on successful opinion writing on DooYoo hope they are useful to somebody out there. FACTS Try to use factual information in your opinions there is nothing worse than somebody writing a whole opinion without having any experience of or evidence to back up their claims or thoughts. REASONS If you are telling us that something is a good or bad thing try to remember to write why many people seem to forget this and just waffle on about how bad it is or good as the case maybe. AVOID STRAYING Try to avoid straying away from the main issue this is very easy to do when your in your flow and typing away the first things that enter your head. BE FAIR Try to tell us about the good and bad things about something an even sided arguement always goes to show you have thought about what you are writing and not just letting the old emotions interfere. AVOID WRITING FOR SAKE OF IT One I must admit have have done once and I would never do again it is all to easy for new members to think that they have to write loads of opinion's straight away this only decreases the amount of reads you get and you end up doing really breif and frankly boring opinions therefore putting people off reading more of your stuff. WORD IT FIRST When I have time I try to type my opinions out in a word document before putting on the site this means it is cheaper as your not online all the time and you can run spell checks and read yourself a few times before putting it up. TAKE YOUR TIME Most importantly you should take your time over writing opinions a good thought out opinion will always get a fair few reads and encourage others to read your work more often, wafflers and churners tend to get very few reads and not many friends. Enjoy DooYoo as I do and keep writing I'm waiting to hear from you all. BARRY
When I found out that my daughter was on her way I started to think that my social life was all but over but then I thought no I will take my daughter out with me and so began the search for the ideal restaurant. I tried loads such as Pizza Express,Cafe Rouge,Ponchetta,Pappa Dels but all seemed to be fine during the day but in the evenings I got the feeling that kid's were not really welcome then I found Cafe Uno. Cafe Uno have lot's of restaurants all over London and serve a wide variety of dishes all Italian but all delicious(believe me I have tried them all). But not only do they have excellent food and wine at very reasonable prices but the service is of the highest order in all the branches I have visited. But the real draw for me was the child friendly atmosphere with plenty of highchairs, kiddies menu which has more of a selection than just chips and sausages, child play packs called the secret squirel and crayons do do colouring in. The staff do not seem bothered what time you take your kid's in with you and always talk to and interact with the kid's when taking orders etc and if they are lucky even get a balloon which always goes down well with my little one. Childrens meals cost £3.95 and for that you get a choice of main, desert and juice which is not bad at all. The food is generally cheap but the wine as with anywhere is inflatted in price but of good quality. This place has been a god send especially when I feel like going out and I can't get a Minder, great for parties as well because again those with kid's who would not have been able to make it can bring them along. Cafe Uno gets a 10/10 from me and if you want to go out and have a stress free evening then I suggest you give them a whirl.
I have become very dubious of Dentists lately after a particular bad experience with a filling and then after that an exploding tooth so when I felt a pain the other week I thought it was time to look for another dentist. I asked around friend's and somebody mentioned that Boot's the Chemist in Regents Street London had a dental surgery so along I went and what a pleasent suprise I had. The surgery itself was extremely stylish and clean the staff at reception were very polite and perfectly happy to talk to you and offer advice. When I got taken in a lift to the basement I started to worry OH NO not ali barber but it was all ok a very polite young dentist welcomed me and asked all the usual question's writting everything down on computer which I could see on a screen in front of me. Which I thought was a brilliant idea so you could keep an eye on what they are doing and how much it is costing you. The surgey room was very relaxing and the dentist and assistant were very polite and talkative which I found helped me to really relax. The work on my teeth was carried out very painlessly and my pain levels were considered as she asked if I wanted her to stop just to raise a hand. I would suggest anybody needing their teeth done to check them out they are quite expensive but the service and quality is so much better than that amnky surgery I was used to.
What can I really say that has not already been said,I pass on my sincere sympathy to any American Dooyooers who have been affected by this and would like to praise all those heros who saved thousnads of lives not only at great risk to themselves but some also paid with their lives. I don't know about anybody else but I was watching the whole thing unfold on CNN and just could not snap out of watching and it really did feel as though some super hero was going to come along and save the day. Thing's like this before now we all thought could only really happen on TV and it could not ever happen in real life, would anybody be crazy enough to try? Well we sure as hell had that answered for us on that fateful morning when those.....sorry I have no name for those responsible in the name of god knows took their lives and the lives of thousands of innocent victims from all around the world and let us not forget that although most lives taken were american alot were british and other nationalitys so my heart felt sympathy to them too. I have to ask myself why these young fool's who are recruited to carry out such attrocities don't see that they are just pawns in a sick man's game, that is of course presuming that Bin Laden is responsible for this. He claims to his TROOPS and I use this word reluctantly that to die for their god will place them in a higher plane or something, but why oh why has he gone into hiding the minute the Americans go looking for him is he not fit to lay down his life for his beliefs well I think not. I hope that Mr Bush is really going to play this carefully and not go in all gun's blazing after all we don't want as some are saying a holy war or as I see it WW3. If Bin Laden is responsible then he should be brought to justice and punished for his crimes but other innocent people should not die because of one man's sick oppsession or one governments desire for revenge. America has stopped all aid to Afganistan which I can sort of understand but is this not directed at the sick, hungry people of the deserts that have no stomach for war they just want to feed themselves and their family's,those in power don't really care they still have three meals a day and live like lords. I admit it would be hard to supply aid to the people if war breaks out but something must be done before thousands maybe more innocent people die whilst the decision makers look on from their TV filled offices. As for the UK's undying support for the United States are we really being sensible after all we have our own minds do we not and most people I have spoken to feel that although we should support america we should take a step back and see what happens before sending in muscle and thinking about it when the body bags start arriving home.
My opinion on this subject is certainly not one of somebody in the know after all are any of us in the know when it comes to Spirits,Souls,Reincarnation. I personally don't think that there is any such thing as life after death Heaven or Hell etc but that does not mean that I don't think others should believe it. I have seen in the past many people die and especially loved ones and I would like to believe that they went thinking that they were going on to a better place. After life is something that can never be proven either one way or the other it is just something you believe in or don't. To believe in something like Heaven is a really good thing and I would love to actually believe that myself who would'nt after all nobody wants to except that once the body dies so do we as any form of life spiritual or physical. I feel that obviously this subject ties into religion and religion is not a bad thing as most are based on being good to yourself and others and very peace orientated and if people want to believe they are going up there with God,Allah who ever then I envy them after all as far as I believe there is nothing else although I hope I am proven wrong when that time comes.
