OK, the fact is that I bought an AMD Athlon 750Mhz processor because it was far cheaper than an Intel chip of the same speed. But i have discovered, since a close friend bought a 933Mhz Intel Pentium 3 Processor that I had made the right move, and not just because of the price. For the same spec; 750Mhz processor from Intel I would have paid £120 more than I did. And for what? This 'faster' processor that my friend bought made no noticeable difference from my PC. It ran games and did tasks at almost an identical speed, admittedly they are both extremely fast PC's but there was no difference, and he had to pay far more for a motherboard to fit his processor that I did. In my opinion the unfortunate truth is that Intel charge for the name. There is very little difference in performance between the two makes, and the Athlons are sometimes even faster in tests. But the prices are hugely different. There are no real advantages to buying an Intel, except that you can say ‘I have an Intel …’, which to some people may be worth spending an extra £100 or so, but I will certainly stick to my Athlons.
For a while now I have been searching for a viable alternative to my beloved napster. I have encountered a number of strange half bread programs attempting, poorly, to be the new napster. When i found iMesh I wasnt expecting much, but I was astounded with what I got. It is a very similar layout to napster, with a nice Windows based layout. There are a fer nice touches making the program feel professional but there are no over the top graphics to slow the program down. The range of files available is very impressive. Not only MP3's but all other types of files as well, including programs and videos. THe music side it still developing and is still not to the same level that napster reached at its peak, but nether the less, it is still a big variety of music. The downloading side is even more impressive with NO TRANSFER ERRORS!! Yep, all napster users will be pleased to know that you dont get transfer errors. If the person you are downloading from goes offline, the program finds another person with the same file and continues to download from the same point! An extremly clever bit of kit, very possibly the new napster. There is one slight drawback. It is that the program uses a lot of system recorces, meaning you cant do a lot at the same time. Its OK if you have a stable, top-end computer. But more unstable systems with less on the RAM side may strugle to run the program without crashing. But I would still sugest you try it, if your computer will run it then you have just gotta have it!
I have ahad this game for a long time now. At first I found the fictional illnesses hilarious and the quick expanding game thrilling but it quickly became to difficult at the higher levels. It is far to hard to get much further than level 6. The game is a great game to rent or borrow and oyu will probably want to buy it after that, but don't! You will become bored and frustrated, as I did, with the insistant wining of the receptionists and constant higene problems and bad reporst made about your pride and joy of a hospital.
This game is lierally packed with Blood and Gore. ti has enough areas of darkness to be the outer limits of space, but is it still scary? Well, personally I find that the low and blocky graphics on this rather old game ruin the game. It was a revelution in the time of Doom but now, with Quake 3 and Resident Evil 3 it doesn't rank very highly. The CD comes with a level creator which can be a lot of fun if you have huge ammmounts of spare time. It is very difficul and time consuming to create a level on this premative creator tool. If you are looking for some cheap (bargain bin) entertainment, this might be the game for you, but if you want to be frightened by realistic monsters, go elsewhere.
I understand that this style of game is not to everyones taste, but I have found this game to be simply brilliant. The graphics are viewable but not of a very high standard, this makes for slightly interupted viewing when running complex scenes. The idea of designing and maintaining a city seems shear genius too me. It is quite complex, with loans, funding and repaire to consider when building. There is a much larger range of buildings than in Sim City Classic making your city come to life. If you enjoyed Sim City Classic's Idea, you'll love this (providing you can cope with the graphics!)
Well, I was completely obsessed with Quake III Arena when I first got it. The graphics are really good and the game plays really well. It is by far the best online compatable game available. But after a while it gets boring. There are only limited ammount of things to do. Only a fight mode is available (although with a few variations), this makes the game life too short for my liking. The game needs a mission or tasks to add life to it. But it is always good to dust it off and give your friends a run for their money every now and again.
This sci-fi to action convert film still has the features of the sci-fi film it was intended to be. Thankfully the face swamming is not done in a sci-fi way, and it seems almost real. John Woo (the director) again adds his magic with the fight scenes. There are a a few amazing fight scenes during the film, all of which can only add to the tention in the story line. John Travolta and Nicolas Cage both put in great performances leaving the movie seemlessly perfect.
Well, after reading the magazine reviews of MI2 I was prepared for a disappointment with this sequel. At the start the of the film is the most immense but of action, Tom Cruise doing the most amazing rock climb, I had decided the reviews where wrong within the first ten minutes. The middle of the film is rather disappointing thought. The story is slow to get into its stride and it makes it a bit tedious but towards the end, the director John Woo waves his wand and the result is amazing. The most exhilarating fight and chase scenes EVER, right after each other. It raises the whole movie to a higher level. If is a must see, I think I may have to see it again, repeatedly.
I trained as a Reiki practitioner some years ago and found it very helpful. I practiced on myself and it helped me through a very difficult time - helping with relaxation, motivation, decision making and inducing wellbeing. Whether it really works on mental/physical illnesses I am not really sure but it is a power I believe I have and will always be with me for the time when I want to use it again, either for myself or to help others. My only problem has been finding people with the time and inclination to try it.
I have been using osteopathy for back pain for many years. It has been the only way I have found to relieve backache, leg pains, sciatic nerve pain etc etc apart from medication. Each practitioner appears to do the same job but they certainly have different results. If I have a problem that doesn't resolve I try a different therapist and very often they seem to sort me out quickly. I have also used them for headaches, massage and to relieve trapped nerves in elbow and wrist. Again matching the therapist to the job is the key. Unfortunately this can be an expensive experiment but it is worth it in the end.
Well, I am a huge fan of this film. From the first time I saw it I was addicted. Keanu Reeves puts in an amazing performance, which is only aided by the amazing plot. Someone had the seriously brilliant idea that we live in an artificial world. When Keanu learns to take advantage of this the result is breath taking. If you haven’t seen this movie you are missing one of the best movies of all time. If you don't want to miss out and become a social retard, do the right thing, you won't regret it.
This film stimulates a mixture of different emotions in a short space of time. The main story includes both comedy and seriousness in rapid succession. With the amusing and incredibly detailed animation of the characters by the Wallace and Grommet team the story is a lot easier to feel apart of than other animated movies. With many movie spoof moments included in the film there are many opportunities for corny comedy, all of which the producers manage to avoid. This film has a lot of amusing moments, but does not sustain amusements due to the frequent serious and sometimes sad interruptions. It is not going to be a box office hit but it is a good time filling film.
Due to obsessive downloading my comduter is often infected by viruses and I need some serious kit to protect it. Since I got the new norton, I have been virus free. It has picked up about 15 or so in the last couple of months, possibly saving my hard disk. It has an easy to use interface, simple enough for ny computer novice to use, with well explained tools and functions. With infinate free downloads of virus updates with this program, you may never need to purchase another copy, EVER. You simply click update and you are ready to tackle even the most recent of attempts at viruses to make your computer ill.
This i one of the cheapest 56K V90 modems available in the shops. For a cheap modem for average personal use, this is for you. For about a year I used this thing and had no problems. Then I needed more. Instead of upgrading phone lines I decided to try a more expensive and better modem. It was a lot quicker to connect and run but still not sufficient. For moderate or casual internet use this is a great and excellent value modem. But if you want really quick (6-7k/s on 56K modem) downloading or serious surfing it is not for you.
Well, the team 17 team have returned with a great sequal to the amusing forst two games. The graphics are very similar to worms 2 but the weapons nd levels have been added upon. There is still all the comedy in the game with loads of different voices to configure your personal worm team with as well as personal symbols and special weapons. The is good for multi-player games where worms can often get rather mixed up. WIth an improved single player game, with training, levels and you vs the computer. There is quite a lot to get through, but with a huge addiction factor, it doesn't take long. But even when the game is completed, for multi-player laughs it is unbeatable!
