I bought this in Boots for under £2 when I was looking for a reasonably priced hand cream. It was within the Vaseline range and the tube is quite big so I thought it was quite good value. The product comes in a simple pink 75ml tube and it promises to nourish and soften hands and strengthen nails by 50%.
The product has a flip top lid which seals very well so I don't need to worry about it squirting out everywhere when I carry it in my handbag. The tube only needs to be squeezed a little bit and a lot of product comes out as the formula is so runny. It also seems to run out the tube when the lid is closed so when I open it the lid it is covered in cream which isn't very convenient as it ends up getting quite messy.
The lotion has quite a strong feminine scent, it's very floral and lasts on my hands for quite a while after applying. Whilst the scent is not bad, I would probably prefer an unscented lotion as it can be quite overpowering.
When applying it is easy to rub into the hands as the hand lotion is quite runny. However, it does take quite along time for the product to absorb into the hands, it makes my hands feel a bit slippery, oily and greasy for quite a long time after applying. I find that it does help make my hands feel more moisturised and smoother but this usually only lasts for a short amount of time and then it needs to be reapplied. When I wash my hands they go back to normal, so I think the benefits of this product only last when the lotion is on this skin instead of giving really noticeable long term results.
However, I do think it softens my skin effectively, if I have any dry patches it usually smooths them out quickly. For the price, I think this is quite a good hand lotion. As the lotion needs to be reapplied quite often it doesn't really last long if used daily. Mine has probably lasted me about a month. The product claims to strengthen nails, but personally I haven't noticed any improvement.
Overall, I think this quite a good cheap hand lotion. It moisturises quite well and makes my hands feel softer, but it's not perfect as it makes my hands feel greasy and it needs to be reapplied often.
I have given it four out of five stars as it softens hands effectively, it does have some disadvantages but I think is about as good as it can be expected for the price.
This product caught my eye when i was shopping in Boots. I had never used any of Sanctuary's products before, but this Brightening Eye Gel sounded interesting. It promises to diminish the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and signs of fatigue, so i was looking forward to giving it a try.
The packaging is nice and simple, it is mainly white and silver so it gives the product the impression of being quite pure yet luxurious. I quite like the tube, it is quite small it it can fit easily in my make-up bag for traveling. It has a lid you pull off and then a small pump. It lets me easily control how much product comes out of it, which is good as it doesn't leave me with lots of leftover product.
The product is easy to apply. It is a translucent white colour, and is the consistency of a light serum. It doesn't really smell very nice, it smells like the alcohol in hand wash, but it wears off after a while. Every morning and night i pat a small amount all over my eye area. It absorbs quite well and feels quite cool and calming on the eyes. I find i can wear it under make-up easily as it disappears into the skin without any sticky residue. It makes the skin around my eyes feel a bit tighter for a while, but it doesn't feel uncomfortable. My eyes are quite sensitive, so i usually have to be quite careful about what i put on my eyes, but i have never had a reaction to this product, which is good.
I have used this for about two months and i do think that is had helped reduce the puffiness of my eyes and has keeped them looking refreshed. But, i don't think it has dramatically helped lighten my under eye circles or brighten up my eye area.
I am a bit disappointed with this product as it doesn't really seem to brighten my eyes like it promises. It works as a simple eye gel to help soothe the eyes and reduce puffiness, but is doesn't really do any miracles.
It cost around £8 in Boots, which it a bit pricey, but i bought it thinking it would help brighten up my eyes and save me some under eye concealer, but it hasn't. I proberly will not repurchase, i think i will search for something a bit more effective.
I have given this product 3 stars as it absorbs well, it does help reduce puffiness and feels refreshing and calming on my eyes. But, it does not help brighten or reduce under eye circles as promised.
I have always used Vaseline, it always helps moisturise and soften my dry chapped lips. I use it alot so i find these mini travel sized pots very convenient as i can keep one in my handbag for everyday use. When i ran out of my original blue tin i decided to try this pink 'Rosy Lips' tin. It was a bit more expensive that the original blue tin version as it is £1.69 in Boots and the original version is only £1.15, but i think it looks prettier and more feminine to carry in a handbag. I also thought it would be a nice change from the blue tin as it is tinted a rose colour and would be nicer to wear during the day.
Except from the pink colour, the tin is exactly the same as the original blue one. But the vaseline inside is very different. In the pot it looks very pigmented, it is a pretty rosey pink colour and has a strong yet pleasant floral scent. When applied it glides on very easily and instantly makes my lips feel smoother and softer.
Whilst, the Vaseline looks very dark and pigmented in the tin, it is quite transparent on the lips. There is a definite rosy tint, but it is not as concentrated as a lip stick or lip gloss; it is very subtle and blends well with the natural colour of my lips.
At first, i was a bit disappointed that the tint didn't look as pigmented as i expected, but then i remembered that this product cost under £2, it's petroleum jelly based and is primarily designed to condition lips; so overall this product is actually quite good. It has all the benefits of standard Vaseline, but also gives lips a gentle tint so they look abit more healthier and made up. It looks alot more attractive than normal Vaseline. I always find that regular Vaseline can make my lips look a bit dull and pale. I always feel more confident with a bit of colour on my lips, so this is perfect as it gives a nice rosy colour and brings out the red in my lips.
One slight disadvantage is that you can use normal Vaseline on many areas of the skin, like dry patches on your face. But as this is tinted, it is only really suitable for use on the lips.
Overall, i really like this product. I will definitely keep repurchasing this version instead of the original blue tin version as it looks a lot better on the lips and is lot nicer to wear during the day.
I have given this product 5 stars as it is very affordable, lasts for a long time, conditions lips very well, and gives my lips a nice natural rosy tint.
I impulsively bought three of L'Oreal Extra Volume Collagen mascaras when Boots had them on three for two...so i have been desperately trying to like this product. I admit, i was lured in by the advertising. L'Oreal promises that this mascara will make your lashes look instantly plumped up and state that the hydra-collagen formula will create twelve times more lash impact; it certainly seemed to work for Eva Longoria on the glamorous glossy adverts, so i was excited to give it a try.
The mascara tube is sleek and elegant, so it looks very professional and high end. It is very well presented and, packaging wise, i think it is one of the best looking mascaras. I have the shade Black 01, the mascara liquid itself is very pigmented. It is quite thick and looks quite inky because of the consistency and very dark colour, this makes the mascara best suited for dramatic looks as it is not very subtle. The brush, is very thick and is made up of many thick bristles, it is quite a lot bigger than most of the mascaras i have used in the past and seems to pick up alot of product; this really is a heavy duty mascara.
Before first applying this mascara i curled my eyelashes, but the mascara is so thick and heavy that they seemed to get weighted down and were nearly completely straight again. I tried to only apply a light layer but the brush held so much mascara it was almost impossible. The formula managed to stick my lashes together, so i tried to comb them out with the brush but that only seemed to make it worse as it collected so much product; not good when you are trying to get ready in the morning. On top of this, the mascara also takes a really long time to dry if i blink with 30 seconds of applying i end up with it spreading all over my eyes. It is really easy to get in a mess with this mascara, i do not find it convenient to apply.
Each tube costs around £10, which is quite expensive, so i decided to give the mascara another chance. I find if i scape all the excess off the brush and comb is over my lashes carefully and leave plenty of time in between coats it can look quite good. It does make lashes look fuller and more volumized because of the thickness of the mascara. If i concentrate on coating the top of my lashes it can make my lashes look quite long, because the mascara is very pigmented, it also makes my lashes stand out a lot more. However, i find that this mascara's results are a bit hit and miss, sometimes it can look good sometimes it can look really bad, overall i find it is really hard to get his mascara to look good as it is very thick and hard to control. It is not good to use on the bottom lashes as it gets too clumpy, so if i use this mascara i always have to use a different one for the bottom line of lashes. The mascara also had this strong chemical alcohol smell which does not make it pleasant to use.
I am a bit disappointed with this product, it makes my lashes look wet and inky. It does help with volume but this benefit comes hand in hand with clumps and glued together lashes. When i have some how managed to finish the all of my tubes of this product i will proberly not repurchase.
I have given this product three stars as it does volumize as promised, but it is very messy, takes quite a while to dry, and it is hard to make it look natural as it is very thick and clumpy.
It is maybe worth a try if you want a really dramatic and dark mascara for going out, but i wouldn't recommend it for everyday wear as it is hard to get it to look attractive as it is very bold.
I have been using John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette shampoo for quite a while now, so i decided to try this hair serum from the same range. 'Shine Shock', promises to give brunette hair a glossy multi-dimensional shine, it is also promises to smooth flyaways and seal split ends.
The product comes in a stylish 75ml tube, i think the design is quite elegant and looks high end. It has a lift off cap and you just squeeze the product out, it is convenient and works well as it does not squeeze to much product out in one go. The tube is quite small so it is it is good for travel or keeping in a handbag in case you need to smooth flyaways on the go.
*Using the product*
I find this product quite easy to apply. The instructions say you can apply it to wet hair or a light layer to dry hair for a high gloss finish. The product itself is a clear see through serum, i don't really know why it is only specifically for brunette hair as it has not colour. It is abit like hair gel but alot more thinner and softer in consistency. It is easy to apply evenly through hair, i just rub a small amount in my palms and pat it through my hair. The only thing is it is quite greasy so i have to wash my hands straight away as it make my hand really slippery and oily. I think this product has a nice smell, the scent smells like the shampoo, like sweet coconut, so its quite nice to use.
I found this is good to use to smooth out hair before straightening, but i wouldn't recommend applying this before curling hair because when i tried this it didn't work very well, it think it is because the product made my hair too heavy. But i have used it after curling before to smooth out flyaways and it works quite well.
To be honest, this product does not give my hair "dazzling shine" like it promises. I do think it makes my hair look a bit glossier but it does not create multi-dimensional as advertised. But, overall i do like this product, i think it is a good serum and gives my hair a nice finish.
It is really good to smooth out flyaways, so i mainly use it for that. But i do have to be careful because if i apply too much it makes my hair look really greasy. This is really annoying especially when i wash my hair, apply it, and then it looks as if i haven't washed my hair at all. So, i always have to make sure i only use tiny a bit on the top of my hair.
I find that this product really helps smooth out the ends of my hair, so if i don't have time to straighten my hair it will calm it down so it doesn't look too frizzy. This is good for me as i like my hair to look sleek and straight but it might not be good for someone who prefers a more voluminous and bouncy look as it does flatten hair and smooth it down.
The product promises to smooth out split ends, i do think it does this. When i'm in need of a trim it does seem to seal them and make them less noticeable.
Overall, i am quite happy with this product. It helps smooth out and control my hair and gives a nice finishing touch. One tube has lasted me a really long time, about 5 months as you only need to use a very small amount, it cost me about £5 from Boots so i think it is good value. But, i give it 4 stars overall as it does not create perfect shine as promised and can easily make my hair look greasy.
I got this product as part of Benefit's "Realness of Concealness" kit; i am so glad i didn't go out and buy one separately. Not only does this product not do what it promises, i found it completely unusable. The first time i used it i was very disappointed and have not used it since.
This product promises to enhance lips and fill in fine lines while building up the contour of the lips. It is supposed to prime lips ready for lipstick to create the perfect pout, so i was excited to try this product out.
The packaging is quite nice. It is simple and the applicator works well. It is a small wand, similar to that of a lip gloss wand. But, i was not impressed with the lip plumping product itself. It is a browny grey colour and is quite thick and waxy. When i applied it to my lips it dried very quickly and it made my lips feel really tight and uncomfortable; i wouldn't mind this if the product even slightly made my lips look better, but it didn't. It seemed to settle in the lines of my lips and make them more visible and it didn't seem to help plump them at all. It left my lips a very unattractive greyish brown, it felt like i was wearing clay on my lips.
I thought that maybe this was meant to happen and that it would look better when i applied my lipstick...i was wrong. When i applied my lip stick, the colour changed due to the colour of the lip plump, it did not glide on nicely and the lines in my lips were accentuated. It looked a mess, so i had to wash it off before going out.
I was surprised at how bad this product was as benefits products are usually of quite high quality. I was thinking that maybe i was using it wrong until i saw other people's reviews and rates on here.
I wouldn't recommend investing in this product. It costs £14.50 which is quite expensive for what it is. Perhaps with the right lip colour and technique it will work as a base under lip colour, but i don't think it will ever do anything to plump or create fuller lips like it promises.
Overall i was very disappointed with this product, i found it ineffective, messy and it is very expensive. So unfortunately, i have given it one star. Not because it failed to succeed in making my lips look fuller; but because it actually managed to make my lips look considerably worse.
I have been carrying this product in my handbag for about two years now. It helps keep my hands germ free whilst out and about and each bottle usually lasts me quite a while.
The product is easy to use, the bottle pumps out just the right amount of liquid so you only need to use one pump. The bottle is small so it is very portable and fits in my hand bag or make-up bag easily. This makes it very handy and convenient; perfect for on the go.
It is very effective as a hand wash it cleans and sanitizes the skin very well. It apparently kills 99.9% of bacteria so i use it when i have a cold so i don't spread my germs. I found it also removes pen or highlighter from skin so the gel must be quite strong.
When rubbed into the hands the liquid dries very fast so my hands are not left wet or sticky. The only problem is that when i apply it many times, like 5 or 6 times a day (i use it quite alot when i'm at work), it does dry out my skin quite alot, it must be from all the alcohol on the product. So, its proberly only suitable for occasional use like once or twice a day as it is very strong. It also really stings when applied to broken skin. Another slight disadvantage is that it smells very strongly because of the alcohol, this smell lasts for quite a while after it has been applied.
However, overall i am quite happy with this product as it serves it purpose. It is a good sanitizer and perfect when there is no proper soap and water to clean your hands. It always costs me around £2 in boots, which i think is quite reasonable as it lasts me over a month, and i use it everyday.
I have given this product five stars as it kills germs effectively, it is perfect for on the go, and is really easy to use as it dries quickly. I would definitely recommend it as it is very handy to carry around for everyday use.
I have been using this mascara for about three months now and have become quite attached to it. I took me a while to get used to it as it is very different to other mascaras i have tried but it has grown on me. It looks very natural and does a good job lengthening my lashes. Overall, i think this is a good everyday mascara.
*The mascara liquid*
I have got this mascara in Black 01, the mascara liquid itself is quite pigmented but it isn't too think so it still looks natural. I find that it dries quickly so it doesn't smudge or smear when applying. The last mascara i had took ages to dry and was thick so if i blinked shortly after applying, it got smudged all over...not good. So, i am quite happy with this mascara in that respect.
The only problem this is that i always need alot more than one coat as one coat does not give much volume or colour. My lashes are quite light so i have to apply quite alot to make them noticeable. I find it takes about four coats to get my lashes looking as fanned out and defined as i like. This i don't mind as it is the same with most mascaras, but sometimes when i try to apply the second or third coat, little particles of the dried mascara flake off and land on my cheeks. The formulation must not bind to itself very well, it will only hold together a few layers, after that the small excess dried particles flake off. I find throughout the day if i tough my lashes some more black particles will fall off. This is not too much of a problem as they are only very small; to be honest its proberly my own fault for applying too many layers because on some days its perfectly fine.
What i really like about this product is the wand. It is the first time i have used a mascara with such a thin straight wand. It is long and has lots of tiny bristles on it. I find that it really helps separate my lashes and define them. Some mascaras i have used clumped my lashes together however, this one brushes each lash out and coats them so you can see each individual lash clearly. I think this looks really natural as the mascara doesn't over clump or thicken. The wand is also good to open out the corners of the lashes as it is small, its also really good on the bottom lashes as the wand only gathers a small about of product so you can apply a thin layer to the bottom lashes without them looking over done.
I do think the wand helps lengthen the lashes as it lets you coat the very tops of the lashes easily so the light bits of the lashes at the end are covered so they look more noticeable. It helps you lift from the bottom of the lashes to the top and defines each one so they look more fluttery. You can proberly wear this mascara without curling your lashes as the wand lifts them up.
The wand took me a while to get to used to as i usually use round brush type wands but i actually think i prefer this type better as it coats each individuals lash and does not bind them together. The only problem is that it does not volumise the lashes very well, so they don't look as full and luscious as some mascaras have the potential of doing.
This product leaves the lashes looking very natural. I like how it separates the lashes so they look neat and like individual lashes instead of clumped together. I like to wear this mascara in the day as it defines the lashes so they frame the eyes but it does not look too made up and unnatural. However, it does not do much for volume, so the lashes don't look very luxurious or glamorous, so for going out i usually apply this first to separate the lashes and then another to volumise them and make them stand out more.
Once applied i find my lashes stay pretty much the same until i take my make-up off, so it the products wears well throughout the day. It also washes off quite easily when required as the formula is not too thick.
I really like to use this mascara for day to day looks. It lifts, separates and lengthens lashes. It costs £12 which i think is quite alot of money but one tube lasted me quite a while so i think it is quite good value. After about 4 weeks of use i found that the wand stopped picking up as much mascara, it still worked well after i just needed to apply more layers. Hopefully Boots will have an offer on so i can get another one soon.
I gave this product 5/5 as it is quite convenient and effective for day to day use, i like how it makes my lashes look, and it lasts well throughout the day.
I discovered this product when my boss kindly gave me a No.7 gift set for Christmas. Along with other No.7 products, it contained a full sized bottle of the Heavenly Hydration Moisture Mask. I had never used any No.7 Skin care products before so i was really surprised at how good this product is; it instantly became one of my favorites.
*About the Product*
It is a shame that this site does not have a picture of the product because i think i would give it 5/5 for presentation. It comes in a 100ml see through bottle and has a pearl coloured pump that the product comes out of. You can see the product through the bottle, it looks like swirled up whipped cream, i think this is what drew me to the product; it looks very luxurious.
This product is a mask that is intended to moisturise and replenish the skin. It contains vitamin C and E and promises to soften and smooth the skin.
*Using the product*
This product is really easy to use. To use it as a mask i just apply it all over my face after cleansing. The bottle says you should leave it for 3 minutes or 10 for a more intensive effect. I often find my self leaving it on much longer than this because it makes my skin feel really soothed. Sometimes i even leave it on over night as the bottle even says you can apply a thin layer at night to wake up with refreshed skin in the morning; i really like this as my skin does look alot more replenished and toned after doing this.
This mask is not like one of those masks that dries and sits on the surface of the skin, it is more like a really rich moisuriser so it absorbs into the skin and can be come invisible if you apply a light layer. Sometimes if my skin has got really dry (sometimes i use acne treatments that make my skin really dry, otherwise i have combination to oily skin) i put this on before my make up to smooth my skin out so it doesn't look all flaky.
What i really like about this product is that it can be used in many different ways. As a rich mask, or as a conditioning treatment over night. I often find myself using this product in place of a regular moisturiser because i like it so much. The main reason for this is that it is one of the only moisturising products i have found that does not cause me to get break outs. I can use it however much i like and it won't make my skin oily or encourage any blemishes.
This is honestly one of the products that i have been the most unconditionally pleased with. It hydrates the skin really well, and this effect lasts a long time. When i use the mask, the benefits usually last for a few days afterwards. I also find that it leaves the skin looking more toned and generally alot brighter and healthier. It doesn't make the skin oily it just seems to replenish the skin. If i get any dry and flaky patches i apply this and then they calm down very quickly.
I have given this product 5/5 because it feels like a treat to use, it replenishes and softens the skin effectively and does not cause me any blemishes. It lasts a really long time too, i have had it about 6 months and have still got loads left.
The product doesn't have many bad points, it fulfills its purpose and promise of revitalising and smoothing the skin. I guess the smell could be better, it smells sort of like the Garnier sun cream i use. Also, the swirly whipped cream presentation effect gradually doesn't look as good when you keep pumping more and more product out. But i guess these points don't really matter.
You can buy this product for £13.50 in Boots, i think this is very reasonable as i think it is a good quality product and lasts quite a long time. I will definitely repurchase.
Since it is summer i have been trying to go for a more natural, bare faced look. Heavy foundation just does not look good in the heat, so i decided to try Benefit's You Rebel tinted moisturiser as i wanted to look natural but still like to feel like a have abit of coverage. I bought the lite one as i am quite pale and the regular You Rebel looks quite dark and abit orangey.
*Using the Product*
The product comes in a toothpaste like tube, which is quite good as you can keep rolling it up when you need to get more product out, the only problem is if you squeeze it too much too much product can come out which is abit of a waste.
The product looks quite pigmented when you squeeze it out, it looks like a warmish yellowy colour. The product isn't overly very pale, it gives quite a nice glow, which i think is perfect for summer. When i start to blend it into my skin it looks abit darker than my natural colour, but if i keep blending it settles down and looks quite natural. It is very easy to apply and blends in nicely so it doesn't leave any tide lines like a foundation can.
A great thing about this product is that it it has SPF 15 this is really useful as it protects the skin and i don't have to use a separate sun screen. The product is also supposed to contain vitamin A and E, so i guess that a bonus. The product feels nice on the skin and does not irritate, it has not given be any breakouts yet so i am quite happy with it.
You do get quite alot, 50ml, which is alot more than then foundations i have bought in the past. However, i find that i need to apply alot as a little does not go very far.
This product does provide a natural finish. When blended it isn't thick, cakey or obvious looking like foundations can be. I find that it evens out skin tone, gives my skin abit of a boost and give a radiant finaish. But as it is only a tinted moisturiser it not provide a very good coverage, it is very sheer, so some of my acne scars are still visible. If you want fuller coverage this might not be suitable. I also found that it wasn't very matte and was quite shiney so i usually use a little power to set it.
Overall, i am quite pleased with the product. It is kind to the skin, a good tinted moisturiser and i quite like the colour. However, i would be happier with abit more coverage. It cost me £21.50 from Benefit, to be honest i feel this is quite expensive but it is a nice product to have to wear in the summer weeks.
I have given it 4 stars because i think it is a nice change and good quality product, however i do prefer the look of a conventional foundation.
I bought this when i was looking for a good sun block to protect my skin from the sun in summer quite a while ago. This product cost me around £10 (i got it buy one get one free in Boots so i got 2 for £10)which i thought was quite reasonable as most SPF 50 products are much more expensive. This product is supposed to protect skin against age spots and premature wrinkles, the tube says its for sun intolerant skin. I wouldn't say my skin is that sun intolerant but i bought this anyway because i thought the higher the protection the better, also i wanted a high factor so i didn't need to keep reapplying it throughout the day as i wanted a sun screen that i could wear on my face under my make-up.
*Sun Protection Rating*
As mentioned, this sun block is SPF 50, and the bottle says it filers out UVA and UVB rays. I give this sun screen 5 out of 5 for sun protection. When wearing this i have never suffered any sun irritation what so ever, have not developed any sun spots and even not developed any freckles this year. So, in that respect he product really does it's job really well.
*My Experience with the Product*
I find that it works well under make-up, when i use it i use it in place of moisturiser (both would make me look too shiny). The product is quite runny so is easy to blend in and absorbs well, but i do like to leave it to sink in for about 5 minutes because it does look quite greasy. Also, it does make you look paler because of the white colour the cream is, but that's not too much of a problem, it fades after a while.
I would love to wear this product everyday as it does provide good protection, however unfortunately when i wear it on my face it causes me to get breakouts, i can wear it for maybe 3-4 days but after that i start to get a couple of spots. I do have quite sensitive skin and i find it hard to find moisturisers that do not break me out, so this might not be the same for everyone. But, my friend did tell me that high SPF products block the pores, if this is true i guess its something i will have to suffer if i want to use a high SPF. For that reason i will give 5 stars, i don't think i will find a better one with the same protection for a better price, i will just have to wear it on the days i really need it to let my skin breathe.
If you want to use it on the body it will be perfect, gives great protection, but i have found it is quite oily, sometimes the lotion can separate so the product comes out in white lumps and water, but this can be saved by shaking the tube. I like that the tube is smallish so i can carry it around for extra top-ups.
I started using Quinoderm about a year and a half ago. I went into my nearest Boots Pharmacy and asked if they had a topical cream i could use to help my acne. I had previously tried Freederm, which really only seems to make my skin worse. The sales assistant recommended Quinoderm as she had said it really cleared up her son's acne. Quinoderm really does work, it helps dry out spots, clear them and stops the surrounding area from being contaminated.
*About the Product*
Quinoderm can be bought over the counter it comes in a 25g or 50g tube, i think the small one is about £3 and the big one about £5. The small one lasted me a long time, maybe 6 months, i then bought i big one quite a few months ago and there is still loads left in that.
Qunioderm is a cream that you apply directly to spots. The main active ingredient is Benzoyl Peroxide, which is known for it's acne clearing properties. You can chose a 5% or 10% Benzoyl Peroxide concentration. The sales assistant first recommended me the mildest one as i had never used it before. If you are trying this product for the first time i would recommend doing this as it did dry up my skin and made it abit sore for a while.
As soon as i started using this the individual spots i had applied it to stopped getting worse, they started to dry up, and eventually cleared. I usually i apply it when i feel spots emerging (i get like red lumps), most of the time it prevents them forming into zits, if not it keeps them under control. This product has helped clear my spots. I think it is so effective because it dries up blemished and prevents them from becoming big pimples that may pop and spread the bacteria, (sounds gross i know sorry). So i apply it to the affected area and it seems to stop it spreading. I usually only apply it at night, but i tried it before under make-up and it seems to look okay.
Overall i am quite pleased with this product. However, if get bad spots, i do apply alot and this dries out my skin and makes it flaky, so if i want to apply foundation it does not look good as it will not glide on smoothy and emphases the dry patches, ( i do have quite sensitive skin, this problem can proberly be avoided by not applying so much...silly me). But this hasn't bothered me too much as my main focus is on clearing the breakout, it goes back to normal in a few days and use of a moisturiser.
This product is good for treating existing spots and preventing them from getting worse and spreading. However i still occasionally get spots, so i don't think it completely prevents fresh breakouts or spots appearing. However, my skin in much better than is used to be and is easier to control, so it has helped alot.
*I would definitely recommend*
I really recommend this cream, it worked very well for me and i will continue using it. It will be good if you have moderate/severe acne and want to clear it and keep it under control. It is also handy to keep if you often get the odd blemish here and there.
I bought this product when i was searching for a good tooth whitener, the name "Hollywood Smile" sounded very appealing and i was excited to try it out. According to the packaging the product will whiten teeth by two shades in three weeks; and to be honest i think it did.
This product comes with a shade card so you can measure progress. I found this useful as i could see where on the scale my teeth were.
I always used my normal toothpaste to clean my teeth before using the Pearl Drops, this is because i don't think it will fight decay or clean bacteria efficiently. I liked that this tooth paste was quite mild tasting, so i could keep brushing for a long time. I used an electric tooth brush hoping that this would make the product more effective.
This tooth polish did help whiten my teeth, i think it whitened my teeth by two shades in less than three weeks. However after that, the level of whitening did not continue. I don't think it would be possible to achieve a perfectly white Hollywood smile with this product.
I would recommend this if you are looking for a product to lift the whiteness of your teeth by a couple of shades. It would be great if you feel that your teeth have become slightly stained due to drinking too much coffee or cola ect. in the past months and want to correct quickly without spending too much.
I have been using this product daily for a year now. I use it under make-up in the morning and to keep the skin around my eyes hydrated at night. It has improved the puffiness around my eyes, and keeps the skin around my eyes smooth and soft.
For some reason my eyes are irritated by many products, (i have been told it is allergies), so i have to be careful about what i put on my eyes as the lids can react badly and get puffy. However, i have never had an adverse reaction to this product, so the ingredients must be very gentle.
I only need a small amount each application, i pat it under my eyes and on my lids as sometimes the skin can get dry there and this balm really helps to prevent that, it also smooths the skin ready for make-up. I also feel it has slightly improved the circles around my eyes as it keeps the eye area hydrated, however it has not done miracles in that area as i don't think this is what this cream is aimed for.
Each tube usually lasts me around 3 months, so i think it's really good value as most high brand eye creams are very expensive, this only costs me around £4 from Boots.
The tube the product comes it is easy to use and hygienic. However sometimes too much product might squeeze out of the tube.
I will recommend this for anyone looking for a gentle eye cream to keep the delicate eye area healthy and bright but does not want to pay the earth.
This is my favorite lip balm. My lips get chapped really easily so i always carry this around with me. I buy this for around £3 in Boots, which i think is very good value as i use it everyday and it always last around 2-3 months.
It contains spf 15 which is great for summer. Like all Blistex products, it conditions the lips very well and cures dryness or chapped areas. I also tastes nice and applies evenly and looks very natural.
What i especially love about this product is the colour. I need to wear a lip balm to keep my lips good condition but also like to wear a lip colour in the day when i put on my make-up. This is the perfect solution, it provides conditioning but also gives a rich and healthy colour. The colour matches my lips really well so looks natural, also its not too pigmented like lipstick so i can apply it on the go without a mirror and not worry about smudges as it will blend in evenly.
I cannot fault this product, for the price it is amazing. Only slight downfall is that to keep the richness of colour it needs to be applied every hour or so through out the day.
