One of the best Hotels I have ever stayed in :) The hotel is located right beside the monorail station that takes you to the theme park so it is great for access. There is also a large caroark for residents who drove ot the park. The hotel is themed around an island resort and this is represented in its design featuring fountains, palm tress, bamboo sticks, warm air, tropical elevator music and bright tropical colours. It is all vey relaxing. The hotel features an arcade and a large buffet area with a huge amount of food to choose from at a great price. Delicious! You must book your place here beforefhand! Roomwise, the rooms are also themed after a tropical island. All rooms come with a tv and desk and a selection of bed tpes including double, single and bunk beds. Of course there is also a abthroom with sink shower and toilet. For anyone with young children there is also a special family room on each floor for parents to use fridges and freezers to store baby food etc. The amin feature of this hotel is the large swimming pool attraction which can be viewed from big glass windows on the main floor. The pool is massive and largely indoors with a small are outside. There is a gangplank walkway around the outer edge of the pool to walk between the Alton Towers hotel and this hotel. The Pool features many slides, especially sldies featuring rubber floats.. There is also a climbing frame type area with mounted water guns which can be shot down into the main pool which is a great laugh.
The United Kingdoms best theme park is probably Alton Towers. It has the best selection of rides and attractions as well as two great hotels to choose on site. Alton Towers is a traditional theme park, split into many themed areas including, a ghost town, a childrens area, a farmyard area, a Pirate area, an apocalytpic area and a dinosaur area among others. Alton Towers is built on beatiful groudns with forests and lakes surronding the old towers in the cntre of the park. Rides range from the crazy Nemisis Rollercoaster to the steep drop of Oblvion and the super fast Rita Queen of Speed. Food outlets are located across the park including a large Burger King. Other rides include a log flume, river rapids, wild west train like rollercoaster, ghost house, ripsaw, Charlie and the Chocalte factory, spinball whizzard and a pirate galleon ride. Theres also my favourite theme park game, where you throw balls through holes to move your horse to the finish line first. There is one of these round every corner as well as many other traditional theme park games.
Victoria Square is Belfast's newest shopping destination. A must for all people spending the day in Belfast, Victoria Square has many major stores selling clothes, electronics and much more as well as a large Odeon Cinema and many food outlets such as McDonalds, TGI Fridays and Pizza Express. Victoria Square's design is fantastic. It is built across multiple levels with an observation deck at the veyr top of a steep set of stairs/elevator giving you a great view of Belfast. The stylish glass roof looks great and the square is very open planned. Although it may feel as if your are inside as in most shopping centres, Victoria Square is actually just an outside shopping centre with a large glass roof over it. Ther square also looks good at Christmas with many fantastic decorations. Stores in the Square include, Topshop/Topman, River Island, Apple, House of Frazier, Build a Bear, Hollister, H&M, Urban Outfitters and Pull and Bear.
A great experience in one of Belfast's many entertainment hubs. W5 is a large exhibition in the Odyssey Pavilion, in the Titanic Quarter of Belfast which when finished will be located right beside the new Titanic attraction. It demonstrates science and technology for all ages to understand. Many of the demonstrations are great fun. Almost everything can be interacted with. It is a good family day out as it is easy to gain access to via the motorway and has a large parking area out the front which is pay to park. There are also a wide variety of food outlets to choose from before or after you visit W5 itself. W5 is spread across many floors with different areas of scienece and technology covered. W5 also frequently displays many temporary exhibits for a limited time, usually a month so every visit is likely to be a fresh experience. One of Belfast's premier attractions.
My favourite C4 program of all time. Skins brings drama and comedy to our screens and its nothing short of excellent. The characters are diverse and brilliant in their own way. Series One is by far the best series and this generation of characters far exceeds the 2nd generation found in series 3 and 4. The storyline is brilliant and the cliffhangar ending in the final episode was so unexpected and shocking. The final episodes ending song, song by the cast also gave me a huge smile on my face. The show is based in Bristol with only one episode taking place outside it, actually going as far as Russia for a History trip - one of the bets episodes actually. The second last episode also prived some mystery as Tony looks for his missing sister and Sid searches for Cassie - very eery indeed! All in all, a fantastic diverse cast of characters and episodes exploring teenagers lives. Must Watch for anyone over the age of 14 :) Probably not advised if your over 25, sorry :L
Battlefield Bad Compan 2 is the sequel to the succesful Bad Company and the first real contender to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 in the FPS genre. And what a contender it is. The graphics far exceed CODs. The level of detail in characters, explosions, buildings and even environments is on a scale rarely seen in todays FPS. The scene where you emergae into a huge valley is just breathtakinly gorgeous. The level of presentation is also top notch with great voice acting and writing providing comedic and serious scenes where needed. Some jokes even poke fun at the new COD. The single player takes you across all sorts of environments in South America through deserts, plains, citys, mountains, rainforests and the interior a large plane. The single player is less open world than before, bringing you down a more linear path. Some collectables feature in the way of guns unique to each missions of which there is 13. There are also certain objects that can be destroyed in each missions for medals. The first and last missions were probably my favourite. The first missions actually takes place in WW2 and the last one sees you skydiving from 1000s of feet in the air. The whole story has a Lost like feel to it, due to the mysterious existence of the scalar bomb, especially the noise it makes beofre it blows. Gave me the shivers. Vehicles also help to break up the shooting sections. Your four favourite characters return with the same trade mark attitudes as well as a 5th new character, Flynn, your helicopter pilot who calls himself a pacifist and will provide some laughs throughout. A plethora of guns are available and all feel so very real in their sound and actions. Enemys are also very intelligent taking cover, and blowing away your own cover. The game can be challenging at times due this. The multiplayer is where the main improvements have been made over Bad Company. Conquest and Rush remain, while new modes such as Squad Rush and Squad Team Deathmatch are added. Squads consist of four players and each team consists of four squads. In the new squad modes, teams are reduced to one squad. All the guns weapons return for the online component. but are unlocked gradually as you increase your rank and experience for each class. Specialisations are new to BF in that they act like perks from COD, adding unique abilities to the user.
Lets get this out of the way first. I did not like movie. I saw this movie in the cinema fulyl expecting another classic comedy about a teenage desperatedly trying to get the girl. With stars such as Michael Cera and Steev Buscemi acting in it i felt sure it would give me a lugh or two. However the story and characters were just unoriginal and plain. They were very generic charcters. The dual personality sections played by Cera confused me. I wasn't sure what was happening when he was on screen as two sides of the same person. The laughs don't come fast in the film but at times they are some comedic, however you won't remember these scenes in a months time. I was kinda hoping for a movie similar in style and scope to SuperBad which also stared Michael Cera, what i saw however was just a plain "super bad" movie. (Sorry, i know how awful that was :L)
Even though this is a Wii game, the graphics are brilliant. The presentation in super mario galaxy is top notch. The games soundtrack was recorded by an orcehstra which heightens the mood for each stage in the game. Gameplay is typical super mario gameplay. New features include the influence of gravity on some stages which control how high you jump and in what direction you go. There are loads of worlds to explore, so the game has a lot of breadth to it with 121 stars to collect in total. 60 with mario, 60 with luigi and 1 secret star. There is alot of replayability as comets fly by certain planets at different times which increase the difficulty of the worlds. All Mario's famous enemies are back along with some new ones as well. Fire Mario, Flying Mario and Star Man are returning power ups along with new ones such as Bee Suit Mario, Ice Mario, Ghost Mario and Spring Suit Mario. Ther game has so much variety in the environments and objectives and is just a blast to play.
This game is one of the pioneers of cover sytems and run and gun gameplay. Gears campaign tells the story of mankinds fight against the apocalyptic locust horde which threatens to wipe them out. The humans have a plan to finish the locust off once and for all after 15 years of intense fighting. The four main characters in the game are great. You will immediately fall in love with them. The locust are some of the greatets enemys in modern video games, especially the bigger boss locust which take some heavy firepower to kill. Some scenes from the game include, a city, a factory, a mansion, a train and an underground mine. Can be played online with a friend. The multiplayer is what will keep you coming back to gears. Although it is light on game modes, the maps and gameplay are top class. Teams of four battle it out on small maps and wth nio respawns making the matches even more tense. The Lancer with a chainsaw attachment is Gears signature weapon due to its originality. The hammer of dawn is also alot of fun to use, as it is essential a laser blast from a satellite. Online leaderboards show how close you are to reaching that all mighty 10,000 kill mark!
Gears of War 2 is the sequel to the very successful Gears of War. Generally, if you enjoyed the first game, then you should also enjoy this. The campaign mode averages out at about 8-12 hours depending on skill level and diffculty. Insane difficulty will have you in tears at some parts. The campaign can be played with a buddy however which heightens your enjoyment of the game. The campaign will take you through human cities, creepy military bases, locust highways and settlements and snowy mountain passes. The story focus' on makinds desperation to defeat the locust horde with a subplot focusing on dom finding his lost wife. Your four favourite characters all return for this explosive sequel. Multiplayer introduces 10 brand new maps along with 5 reworked classics from Gears of War. All your favourite weapons are back along with some new ones like the scorcher(flamethrower) and mauler(mingun). Gears now features matchmaking and a ranking experience system. You gain nexperience from playing well and winning games which increases your rank. Teams now conists of five players apart from wingman, where 5 teams of two compete to get the most kills. There is also a brand new mode called meat flag whereby two teams fight to capture a flag which is in fact one of the stranded. Lag may be a problem online however as it is very frequent. Horde mode is the brand new feature for gears 2. A team of five players battles across 50 waves of increasing difficulty ot eliminate all computer controleld enemy locust. Teamwork and startegy is essential to complete all waves on every map. Great, great fun.
The remake of the classic gameboy game Pokemon Red, Fire Red for the GBA brings all new grahpics and features to a game that has went down in the record books. Supporting the graphics of the Game boy Advance and adding in new features such as, The Sevii Islands, a new area to explore, and some new pokemon from ruby and sapphire, gold and silver, the game is bursting with features and will take you some time to complete. Every hour is worth it though. The game just like original, is all about beating the 8 pokemon gyms and then entering into the pokemon hall of fame after beating the elite four and your rival. Once this happens there is also the opportunity to fill up the national pokedex and capture every pokemon in the game for an extra reward. Levelling up pokemon is core to winning battles and there are so many cities, forests, mountains and unique routes to discover that you'll just wanna keep coming back to this game for more.
The 4th Generation of the Ipod Nano is a nifty piece of technology. The nano can be carried around with you anywhere and everywhere and the sound quality is great. The wheel is still great, and the new shuffle feature, where you shake the ipod which will select a song at random is great. 8GB is big enough for around 2000 songs depending on the size of your music files. The new nano also allows you to sync photos and videos from itunes onto it. The only downside is the low battery life. Even at full charge, the nano only lasts for a maximum of 14 hours. However a charger does come with the product which also serves as a connection to your computer. For being released in 2008 and now having a new older brother, The nano is quite expensive and I would advise to go out and buy the newer nano, as it has a slighter higherprice point, but is new and contains many new features.
Kalm tablets are a traditional herbal remedy that relieve the user of periods of worry, stress, strains and irritability. The instrutions tell you to take 2 tablets at a time, three times a day. I purchased these tablets to relieve me of worry and calm me down before my driving test. I did not receive any relief to my knowledge. The tablets appeared to have little effect on me. The only thing they helped with was promoting natural sleep. I got to sleep much quicker that night and had a peaceful sleep. The only side effect of kalms is drowsiness which may appear in some cases. I did not notice myself becoming drowsy. It is best not to take kalms if you are pregant and breast feeding although you may ask your doctor if this is okay. For children aged 12 and over only. If you are on pther medication, refer to your doctor to see if it is okay to consume kalms.
Coca-Cola is a sparkling soft drink with vegetable extracts and is of course, as with all soft drinks, best served ICE cold. Coke as it is usual known, is the msot identifiable brand in the world. No matter where you go, you can be sure to find a bottle of coke. It mightened be good for your teeth but it tastes right good. They are also known for producing quality adverts at Christmas time which is sure to bring a smile to your face :) Coke is lovely but i would adivise you not to drink too much of it in a single day as it tends to make you feel sick after a few bottles :L Coke is nicest from a bottle, I prefer the taste of plastic to the metal flavour found in cans. A 500ml bottle of Coke is usually betweem 90p to 1 pound 50 in Uk stores.
Addictive! The most recent installment in the Call of Duty franchise is back and made by the series original creators Infinity Ward. The game is essential COD 4.5 as it doesnt add alot to the gameplay, but COD 4 was such a good game that this hardly matters. The online multiplayer is addictive. The maps are great and the online community is excellent. There is a large selection of modes and guns to choose from as well as all new perks with their pro abilities. The levelling system is what will keep you playing COD. There are 70 levels in each prestige with an unlock or two at each level to keep you comnig back for more. Once you reach the highest rank you can sacrifice all your unlocks to restart at level 1 again and work your way back up. You can do this 10 times. Lag can be a frequent problem online however. A new addition to this game is the customisable killstreak rewards. The Single Player in COD is short but sweet. Some characters return from the previous game and the finale is brilliant. There are many vehicle levels to break up the non stop shooting and the graphics are just great with no slow down what so ever. The biggest addition to the game is the co-op spec ops mode. You and a buddy can play through objective based missions to earn stars. Towards the end the missions get progressively harder until they are near impossible, but this makes it all the better. Probably the best thing about the game. All in all the game is great. However, things don't feel fresh anymore as they did in COD 4. The maps and singleplayer just arn't as remorable as they were in the previous game. The biggest addition to COD
