      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Don't buy!

      {~~~Introduction~~~}

      On the lookout for my first contract smartphone, I came across the Samsung Jet. At the time, it was stylish, compact and had decent specifications. I went for a 2 year contract, and I regret it now!
      {~~~Packaging~~~}

      I got the phone in a square box with the phone neatly tucked inside it at the top. There were booklets, the charger, cables and a CD in the box.

      {~~~First Impression~~~}

      My first impression was a good one, I was really happy with how the phone looked and felt, well for the price anyway. The touch-screen worked, but I was disappointed that it required some force.

      {~~~Design & Features~~~}

      The phone comes with two cameras, one on the front and one on the back. The front one can only be used for video calls, and the back can be used for videos and photos. The front camera is a low quality VGA type but it is certainly sufficient for video calls. The proper camera placed on the back is 5MP and I was surprised to see that the camera is actually good quality, There is a flash function which works very well.

      On the back is a speaker grill towards the bottom composed of two slits. The speaker itself does go loud, but not too loud. This has never caused problems for me as my phone is always on vibrate and I don't listen to music on the phone.

      The front of the phone is quite simple, there is a Samsung logo printed on the top in silver, and there is a diamond button at the bottom with a call button on the left hand side and a hang-up/shut down button on the right. These buttons are quite firm and solid, which I like.

      The charging port is on the top and is protected by a fiddly cap which is still intact of my phone even though I am usually quite rough with this flap. Next to the charging port on the top is a 3.5mm headphone jack. When you plug anything in it will ask you whether it is headphones or the video-put system you want to use.

      {~~~Battery Life~~~}

      I really wasn't too impressed with the battery life, with average usage, the phone was only lasting 1.5 days. I switched off 3G and kept wifi off when not in use and this seemed to help. I also keep my brightness at the minimum setting to prolong batter life.
      {~~~Final thoughts~~~}

      I really do not recommend this phone, the software is glitchy, Samsung are hardly supporting this phone and it is pretty much obsolete now. Please spend a bit more and go for something a bit more high-end, think of it as an investment.

        • Reliability

        Disadvantages

        Highly recommended!

        I bought the kindle on a whim really. I don't read too many books, but I loved the idea of not having to hold thick heavy books as it can get quite tiring.

        Anyway, I love this device. It feels so light, and fragile, but it is so useful. The e-ink technology is unbelievable. It looks exactly like a page from a book and it doesn't strain the eyes one bit. However, this is also a disadvantage as the kindle cannot be used in the dark. However, there are accessories available for it, and there are plenty of lights for it.

        The user interface is really quite simple. I was reading from it within a few minutes, and the options to adjust the font size, etc are fantastic.

        The battery life is also impressive. I have had it for 3 weeks now and I have not had to charge it as of yet. I find it so much less of a chore to read books now.

        One really irritating thing is that some kindle books are actually more expensive than their printed counterparts, whilst others are only 30 pence cheaper.

        I would highly recommend this for everyone out there who love reading books and even those who are occasional readers as it really is a fantastic device. The only bad thing I have to day is that it does feel a bit cheap, but the plastic contributes to the extremely low weight!

          Advantages

          • Reliability

          Disadvantages

          Highly recommended MP3 player!

          {~~~Introduction~~~}

          I previously had the original iPod Mini and I actually wanted a new iPod but couldn't justify the cost at the time as the Mini was working fine. But I managed to win this iPod in a competition with Alfa Romeo in which participants had to play an online racing game and attempt to achieve a high score. The first prize was a car, but I was quite content with my prize.

          {~~~Packaging~~~}

          I was pleasantly surprised to receive the iPod in a small plastic transparent box with just a cable and small booklet. I loved it but, stylish and simple.

          {~~~First Impression~~~}

          I honestly loved the feel of the iPod and the look. In fact, I still prefer this design to the latest iPod nano.

          {~~~Design~~~}

          The iPod is rectangular with curved edges and a big screen. It is very good looking and there is a lock button on the top. The audio jack is at the bottom. The material does seem quite prone to scratching, but bought a belkin leather case in which the iPod is always held so I have no scratched on it.

          {~~~Setting the iPod up~~~}

          Set-up was simple. I had to download iTunes and connect the iPod to the computer to sync the iTunes and iPod software and all of my music, etc.
          {~~~Functions~~~}

          I'm sure everyone is aware that the primary function of the iPod is to play music, but Apple have also incorporated the function to view videos and photos on the iPod as well as contacts and notes. One thing I quite like is the option to add lyrics to each song.

          However, all of these functions can only be utilised by connecting the iPod to the computer and using itunes, so it is limited in this sense.

          {~~~ User friendliness~~~}

          The interface on the iPod is really quite simple and self-explanatory. I can't see anyone having problems using the iPod

          {~~~Sound Quality~~~}

          The sound quality of this is really quite good in my honest opinion. I haven't got much to compare it to but it goes really loud and the clarity of the sound is good. There are also EQ options available, however these impact the battery life.

          Also, the included headphones aren't great, so I recommend purchasing some new ones. I am currently using a-jays two and am really impressed, they are by far the best headphones I have had.

          {~~~Battery Life~~~}

          The battery life is quite decent. It lasted me about 6 hours when I first received it, but now, a year or so on, it lasts closer to four, which is good enough for me

          {~~~Final thoughts~~~}

          If you are looking to get a compact iPod but don't like Apple's newest iPod Nano, which is more like a shuffle, I would highly recommend this iPod! It is comfy to hold, the screen is big and its just fantastic!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            All-in-all, recommended

            {~~~Introduction~~~}

            With just one desktop computer in the house, with five people, we were struggling, and decided to buy a laptop, mainly for its size and portability, but also because we had never bought a laptop so it was quite exciting. So I began laptop hunting, I considered acer and other brands but I found dell to be the best option because I could easily customise my specifications and there was a good discount on hardware and the extended standard warranty going. I took the plunge and ordered my studio laptop.

            {~~~Packaging~~~}

            3-4 weeks later I received a nice looking, compact box advertising that there was a nice brand new laptop contained within it. The laptop was held in the cardboard support brackets, and I was actually quite impressed with the minimal packaging. All of the CDs, and manuals, etc were included in the box.

            {~~~First Impression~~~}

            Switching the laptop on for the first time felt fantastic, it was new, shiny, and top of the range. I was really impressed. And surprisingly Windows Vista was running alright, but only because it has just been installed

            {~~~Design~~~}

            I own the Studio 1555 model of this series, and I chose a plain black matte lid. The previous models to mine featured touch sensitive multimedia buttons but this was omitted in my newer model, probably because of problems other people were having. I upgraded the keyboard to a backlit one and it is impressive, it is extremely useful when I want to use the laptop in the dark.

            There are rubbed pads on the screen so that the screen does not touch the keyboard and the webcam is a welcomed feature, even though I never use it.

            The hinge system felt really sturdy at first but after reasonably heavy usage, the plastic clip on the side (opposite the round power button) broke meaning there was a creaking sound everytime the screen was moved up or down. I ignored this for months, before I decided to call up Dell, only to be told my warranty only covered hardware and not parts, so they wanted to charge me £127 for parts and labour - no thanks! I bought a £25 lid and bezel from ebay and installed it myself. The design is somewhat flawed as I had to replace two parts in order to fix my problem, but it is working great now anyway.

            The lid features the prominent embedded Dell logo in silver plastic. The keyboard and bezel surrounding it is black, as is the speaker grill above the keyboard, stretching the whole length of the laptop. The rest is the usual silverish colour

            I opted for the extended 9-cell battery, and I am mentioning this in the design section because the battery pack is taller so the back of the laptop props up, allowing for more comfortable typing. The bottom of the laptop features rubber feet which provide a grip when the laptop is placed on a slippery surface such a a glass-top table.

            The CD "tray" is not really a tray, it is like the system found in cars where you put the CD directly into the slot. I find this is quite convenient as I can't hit the eject button by accident.

            {~~~Setting the Studio up~~~}

            The software came pre-installed and all I had to do was charge it and push the power button. From there on, its up to the user what software, etc they want to install

            {~~~Battery Life~~~}

            As mentioned above, I opted for the 9-cell battery which gave me about 7-8 hours of battery life at first on medium brightness and with wifi on which is really very impressive. However, about 2 years later, the battery lasts about 2.5 hours on average which I consider to be alright.

            The battery pack has a button and five lights on it. When you push the button. the lights light up, and the more lights, the higher the charge you have left. However, if you keep the button pressed, it will tell you the health of the battery, I previously has no lights, but I have started getting 1 light showing up for the battery health. I will probably replace it when it reached 2 or 3 lights

            {~~~Final thoughts~~~}

            I'd say I am very happy with my purchase overall. If you are looking for a decent laptop, I would highly recommend this!

            works, and therefore recommended

            I bought this because my built-in sound card broke down. This sound card works great, it is simple and easy to install.

            I am using it with Windows 7, and I downloaded the driver from the Trust website. The manufacturer have replied promptly to my support request emails with screenshots as well.

            Make sure you have the screws for this as none are provided.

            The installation was really simple, it just slots in, you put the two screws in and that's you done! I am not a sound engineer but sound comes out of it, and is good as far as I can tell. Basically, it does what is says on the box for a good price. If you are looking for a sound card, this should work no problem. Just make sure it is compatiable in terms of hardware with your computer and that you have a slot available for it.

            I would definitely not hesitate in recommending this sound card.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            a good watch

            I often tend to watch films with expectations and thought on what I will think of the film afterwards and how good it will be. My expectations for Oprhan were not too high, but the twist in the movie really shocked me, and this is what I loved about it!

            First of all, I'd like to clarify that this film is nothing like "The Omen", as the cover may suggest. This film has no supernatural aspects to it, everything is just natural.

            The start of the film is simply awesome and really sets the sinister and eerie tone which is kept throughout the film. We are brutally shoved into Kate's nightmare of her still child-birth which is quite graphic. The producers wasted absolutely no time in spooking the audience out.

            This movie is about a couple with a blind girl and a young teen boy who go to a home with the hope of adopting a child. However, they do not realise that their decision to adopt sets in stone their horrific fate.
            Whilst in the childrens' home, John (Kate's husband) hears loud singing and he is endeared to it. He approaches the room where Esther is sitting, whilst painting and singing. John peers through the door and about to leave, Esther turns around and John enters the room. He complements Esther on her artistic talent, and they begin chatting. Anyway, to cut to the chase, Kate and John decide to take Esther home.

            I'd like to mention at this point that I was already freaked out by the girl, you can tell there is something wrong with her.

            All hell breaks loose when Esther moves in with the family, she starts causing trouble and Kate realises how manipulative and troublesome the "girl" really is. She attempt to persuade John but he refuses to believe that there is anything wrong with the wonderful girl they so happily brought into their house. John refuses to believe any of Kate's words until Esther dresses up as a "slut" and attempts to seduce John, before killing him.

            I don't want to spoil too much but I hope you get the gist of what I am trying to say at least. This movie really is a shocker and it is different from your usual horror films. There is a lot of gruesomeness and murder in it, along with bad language so I really would not recommend watching this around children as even I found some scenes disturbing!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            recommended if you are looking for a simple blu-ray player

            I have had this for a while now. I cannot comment on the quality of playback as I only have conventional televisions at home (I won this player).

            Therefore, I will comment on the functions.

            The player takes about 10-15 seconds to start up.
            It has an interface similar to that of the PS3.
            You can update it via an ethernet cable, and I have updated it once so far, it worked fine.
            The skip function allows you to skip 10, 20 or 30, etc seconds at a time, however it is quite slow, well too slow to be honest. However, the normal fast forward function is also available along with the usual chapter forward/rewind function.
            The player itself is quite stylish looking, I can't complain about the appearance, although I can't help but wonder how much better it would look in black.

            There's not much else to say. The remote control is quite light and feels a bit cheap, but works absolutely fine.

            There ARE newer, better, more stylish players out there but I would certainly not hesitate too much in recommending this player!

              Advantages

              Highly recommened fast paced enjoyable movie

              "I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."

              Source: [Taken, 2008]

              This paragraph above sets the scene for the movie, and as you can tell, it is quite gripping due to its threatening and audacious nature. It portrays Liam Neeson as a ruthless, and utterly determined individual who will not let anything, anything at all, get in his way as he attempts to get his daughter back.

              This thriller/action movie is set mainly in Paris, and Neeson, we find out, is a retired CIA agent who has been attempting to get on better terms with his teenage daughter. It is revealed that he is a long time divorcee and his wife has been married to a wealthy man. We find out that Neeson attended every single one of his daughter's birthday parties. This really endears us to his character as we can see that he really does love his daughter, even though he was absent throughout the majority of his daughter's (Kim's) childhood.

              ***SPOILER***

              So, the story starts off when Kim, with the reluctant permission of his father, and less reluctant consent of her mother, jetting off to Paris with her best friend who has managed to organise accommodation via one of her friends there. However, things quickly go bitter as both Kim and her friend are kidnapped by men in black. Luckily, Kim manages to get on the phone to her father and tell him what is going on before she is snatched away. This is where Bryan sets hid agenda to bring back her daughter and kill the perpetrators.

              ***SPOILER OVER***

              The story really gets going after this and the pace and tension is fantastic. Neeson, or otherwise called Bryan in the film, methodically tracks down leads with the help of his CIA connections, until he managed to rescue his daughter.

              This is one of the best thriller/action movies I have ever watched! Neeson fits his role perfectly with his presence creating an atmosphere of utmost tension and detemrination. It really does reach out to the audience and this is one of the things that makes this one fantastic movie, along with all the action and how we watch what love and determination can drive a man to do and what it can allow him to achieve.

              I'd say this is a brilliant movie for everyone out there who is a fan of thriller movies. There is some gruesome "action" in a few places, but nothing too unexpected.

              My final words would be "GO AND WATCH THIS MOVIE"!

              HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

              I bought this camera for my parents, and tested it out for a few weeks beforehand. Anyway, here's me review:

              I've always been a big fan of canon camera, believing them to be one of the best camera brands.

              {~~~~~Appearance, Camera Body & Screen~~~~~}

              The camera has a solid, expensive feel to it. The outer shell is all metal apart from the top panel, which is composed of plastic. Canon have incorporated a couple of strap lugs on either end on the top, which should be very useful for all of you camera enthusiasts out there. Although this is quite a small detail I think it could really come in handy. Most ultra-compacts tend to come with wrist-straps which are great if you are not planning on using it that often, or if you don't mind keeping it in your pocket.

              The LCD screen is not raised out of the back panel of the body, but is in level with it which is a good thing I guess, as this helps to prevent scratches. However, I would highly recommend buying a glass screen protector for the camera to keep it in top notch condition! However, the screen is composed of toughened glass, so it really depends on how you will be using the camera. Here's an example of a glass protector: GGS Optical Glass LCD Screen Protector for 3 inch Screens Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Sony, Panasonic Camera Screens

              The body itself does seem a bit plain: it isn't the most stylish of cameras, but it is very comfortable to hold and the matte metal finish helps to ensure a good, snug grip.

              The buttons on the back of the camera are reasonably large, and therefore easy to use. This is good as it means no fiddling about when you are trying to take a quick snapshot. There is a bezel around the central button on the back panel which rotates. This can be used to change the mode you are using.

              The screen size of 3" is just the correct size in my opinion, and it is very clear. It does become very difficult to view the screen in bright sunlight, and the lack of a viewfinder doesn't help. But this is only a minor complaint.

              {~~~~~Photo Quality~~~~~}

              One of the things that attracted me to this camera is the fact that it is 10 Mega-pixels and has 3.8X optical zoom. This is reasonable for a camera of this size. The digital zoom is 4X. However, I always try and avoid using the digital zoom as it really distorts the image and I like my photographs to be as clear as possible.

              There is the option to take photographs with 1280 x 720 resolution. Video can also be recorded at this maximum resolution in HD 24Fps quality. However, one disadvantage is the fact that optical zoom cannot be utilised whilst recording video. This will affect some more than others. However, I rarely use the video function and therefore this is not a major disadvantage for me.

              The continuous shoot function has come in handy many a times, and it is very effective. It is particularly useful when you want to take many photographs and select the best one afterwards. This is particularly useful if the people you are photographing are prone to having their eyes closed.

              Anyway, I will update this as I get more chances to use it.

              I would highly recommend this camera. If you are looking for an ultra-compact digital camera, I would highly recommend this camera!

              N.B. I have also published this review of mine on Amazon.co.uk as SuPeRsOnIc

              {~~~Installation~~~}

              I have a very new computer with some of the latest hardware. Therefore, I expected the installation to be a breeze. Perhaps my expectations were so high as I have been using Norton 360, for which the installation process was completely painless and only took a couple of minutes.

              During installation, I was prompted to remove any other secutity software in order to ensure that there was no conflict between them. I'd recommend this as I have had problems in the past. However, fortunately, you are given the option to leave the current security software installed and intact on the PC. This could be seen as a postivie feature as many security programs will refuse to install if there are other programs installed which could cause conflict.

              You are provided with the option of doing a custom-installation or a basic one. I would only recommend the custom installation for people who are experienced. If you do go for the custom-installation, it does go into a lot of depth about what you would like to be installed. The basic option uses the default installation settings.

              I was offered to choose the interface that I would like. This included: Basic, Intermediate, and Expert. I opted for intermediate. The option that you select here determines the options that will be available to you on the software console. The more advanced option you choose, the more advanced options and setting will be mae available to you. This option is not permanent and can be easily changed at a later date as you become more confortable and experienced with the settings.

              I was then prompted to do a cloud-based scan of my PC. This would essentially scan for any existing threats on my computer, collaborating with the online database on Bitdefender's side. This did not take as much time as I expected: it took approximately three minutes on my computer. However, this will depend on the hardware configuaration of individual computers. I doubt it would take more than ten minutes on most computers. Although this step is not compulsory, I would recommend it in order to eliminate any existing threats as soon as possible. What else is the software for?

              There are many prompts throughout the installation process. I would highly recommend selecting the basic interface option in order to speed it up, as the interface can be modifed later, as can the settings.

              The installation process finally ends with the option of scheduling regular virus scans, which I would recommend.

              {~~~Secutity Console Interface~~~}

              I found that the basic interface was a bit too restrictive. I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get to the more advanced settings. However, it is probably ideal for novice users.

              The interface is a bit messy, but you soon get used to it. The status details appear on the left hand side, and this is a useful feature to check up and make sure everything is running smoothly.

              I have found that this secutity software does hog more resources than norton 360, but it is not so bad that it affects the speed of the computer so much.

              I would recommend that you swicth to the advanced interface as soon as you feel comfortable with it, or straight away if you know what you are doing, as the basic interface is a little too basic, whilst the intermediate just looks clumsy.

              N.B. I have also published this review of mine on Amazon.co.uk as SuPeRsOnIc

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

              Highly recommended family movie. Can be enjoyed by adults also

              I had heard fantastic things about this movie, and I remember it coming out in the cinema. Sadly I did not get a chance to go and watch it.

              Anyway, I bought it on DVD and must say I was hooked from the start, watching how the young boy yearned to be a proper viking. The movie was predictable, yes, but certainly not boring in any way. The charatcer of Hiccup is developed very well, and we cannot help but feel for him, even though we laugh at his misfortunes. Also, when he meets toothless, I couldn't help but feel endeared to them both: how they both had something in common, they were both "weak". It was interesting to see how Hiccup manages to use his talent to help Toothless fly again and how their friendship develops. This story has a moral which I quite like, about not being afraid to be different. This film is great for kids and adults alike. It is a fantastic family movie, and I would highly recommend watching it if you haven't already!

                Disadvantages

                Overall, I would highly recommend this. You may be unsure now, but it is worth it in the end!

                {~~~Introduction~~~}

                I have never bought an apple product before. I got the original iPod mini as a gift and I won the 5th generation iPod Nano. When the original iPad was released, I thought it was a waste of money because it was just a big iPod touch. However, I changed my mind after reading of people with a similar mindset to me loving their iPad once thei had purchased it. I was originally planning on purchasing the most basic model - 16GB, but ended up deciding that that may not be enough space, so I opted for the 32GB wifi one. Anyway, I'll get on with the review:

                {~~~Packaging~~~}

                I received the iPad in a brown box from John Lewis and in that was the white apple case. It was nice, compact and simple. I removed the cover of the white case containing the iPad 2, and behold! There was my iPad shining up at me! I removed it to reveal a small case with booklets, the charger and a coiled up cable for charging and syncing.

                {~~~First Impression~~~}

                I ha tried out the original iPad in the shops, but it's completely different when its in your hands and it's you that owns it. The iPad 2 really is a device of divine beauty.

                {~~~Design~~~}

                The rear of the iPad consists of a sheet of aluminium with a camera, a black apple logo in the centre, a speaker grill towards the bottom left corner and a camera at the top left. There is a volume rocker and a loc switch on the right hand side of the device. The lock switch can be customised to mute the volume or to lock the screen rotation system. This is really useful because sometimes if I have the iPad on my laptop, and it is tilted downwards ever so slightly, the screen rotates 180 degrees which is irritating.

                Although the back of the iPad is made of aluminium, it is not slippery and does have a grip. It has a matte sort of feel to it which I prefer. I have currently covered up the back with a transparent iPad 2 case made of hard plastic as the back is prone to scratching.

                Now, the front has a bezel around the edge which comes in white or black. I personally preferred the black colour. The screen is made of glass so it is durable and somewhat scratch resistant. But I still chose to use a screen protector on it, although a cheap one. But, hey! it works!

                There is a 3.5mm jack for headphones/speakers on the top

                {~~~Setting the iPad up~~~}

                Set up is a doddle. You need to download the latest itunes as it is not included in the box. Then you connect your iPad via with supplied USB cable. You are provided with the option to register the product and you can update the iPad software if one is available.

                The speakers are quite decent. I can comfortably watch a movie/tv program on the iPad

                {~~~Functions~~~}

                The thing I love about the iPad is just how versatile it is. The apps available are fantastic. I downloaded teamviewer app which allows me to control my Windows 7 PC from the iPad. I have downloaded a print app, etc. The only thing is that you have to pay for some apps but there are plenty of free ones out there. The rating system on the App Store is helpful as you can read reviews, etc and decide whether or not you should purchase it.

                There are apps available for word processing, although I have not personally tried any yet.

                You can put the iPad to sleep by simply pressing the sleep button on the top of the iPad on the edge or shut it down by holding it down and swiping the red box when it appears. This iPad also has a magnet system built-in meaning you can buy covers, or Apple's own smart cover, and when you close the cover over, the iPad automatically goes to sleep and wakes up when you open it up. This is quite clever in my opinion but so simple.

                The iPad comes installed with Apple's video conference software - Facetime. There is a camera on the front and back. The front is a low quality VGA camera, and the camera on the back isn't too much better, but this is no problem for me as I only use the camera for fun.

                {~~~The Touchscreen & User friendliness~~~}

                Seeing as this is a touch-screen tablet, the screen is a vital feature. It exceeds my expectations. Having tried out a variety of touchscreen products, I can safely say Apple's touchscreens are by far the best. You do not need to put pressure on the screen but a light touch does it all.

                The keyboard which comes up on the screen is easiest to use in landscape mode and is surpringly easy and pleasant to use.

                {~~~Battery Life~~~}

                I am unbelievably impressed with the battery life, I keep the brightness towards the lower end and the wifi is always on, and it has lasted me 10 hours and even more! It's fantastic! No need to worry about having to charge it so often!

                {~~~Final thoughts~~~}

                I'd say I am very happy with my purchase overall. If you, like me, are wondering whether you should take the plunge, I say go for it! It's fantastic and our laptop is being used less now as the iPad is just so portable and fast. I love the fact I can check something on the net in a minute rather than having to start the laptop up, and waiting for everything to load.

                The only disadvantage is the price but Apple's customer service makes up for this, as does the quality of the device!

                Great camera: highly recommended

                {~~~Introduction~~~}

                I was looking to buy my first digital camera and I came across this. I ended up going for it after quite a bit of deliberation as there were newer and better models with image-stabilisation and higher resolution. I ended up going for this due to its affordable price, looks and good reviews.

                {~~~Packaging~~~}

                I was quite excited about the camera so didn't take the packaging into account too much. However, the box is a light-blue colour with nice illustrations and it lists the features in big and bold writing. The camera is nicely positioned in the centre of the inner holder with all of the books and manuals, etc.

                There is an AV cable included to connect the camera to the TV, and a cable to connect to the PC via USB is also supplied. Furthermore, a hand strap is supplied. A case must be purchased separately as none is supplied.

                {~~~Design~~~}

                The camera itself it very stylish with a blend of black and silver. The large 3" screen and reflective sides add to the elegance and pleasantness of this camera's image. The controls on the back are fairly small as well adding to the ultra-compact look.

                {~~~Features~~~}

                This camera isn't packed full of features, but is more than adequate for most people.

                This ultra-compact features Canon's nifty DIGIC III imaging processor, which will provides super-fast responses and advanced noise reduction, as well as automatic face detection which will help to bring faces into sharper focus. The face detection feature works really well from my experience.

                You have the option of choosing the start-up and switch-off image. You can also control he noises the camera makes, such as the shutter noise.

                There are four automatic modes which include auto, manual, digital macro, colour accent; there are also various shooting modes which you should change to correspond with your location. These include Portrait, Night, Snapshot, Kids and Pets, Foliage, Snow, Beach, Fireworks and Indoor, Aquarium and Underwater. Te latter two features are for use underwater with the compatible waterproof case.

                Examples of white balance options to choose from include auto, daylight, cloudy, tungsten, florescent, florescent H and custom, as well as custom ISO settings ranging from 80 to 1600. Shooting modes include single shot, continuous, and self timer which can be set at 10 seconds, two seconds or a custom time. The timer works great and comes in handy when you want to take a whole group photo without having to pinch someone away. The most fascinating feature for me is the macro mode which allows you to photograph ar 3cm, this function works amazingly well and I have managed to capture many amazing photographs with this mode, including a butterfly.

                You can also remove red eyes on the camera itself. The process is very simple and fairly effective. The eyes can look distorted if viewed on a larger computer screen. However, this is to be expected.

                At the top of the camera, next to the shutter button, there is a switch with 3 positions: video, auto and manual. The shutter button itself is enveloped within the zoom rotary collar. The zoom collar can cause problems if you are photographing single-handedly. However, it is possible, just a bit finicky.

                I will update this with more information soon. The review is unfinished!

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

                  Fantastic fragrance, no one should be disappointed by this!

                  {~~~Introduction~~~}

                  This is a fairly new fragrance as it was only launched in 2007, and I loved this EDT a couple of years ago when I was looking for a new fragrance. However, the price put me off and I ended up going for a Hugo Boss EDT which I love equally as much. I couldn't resist this when I managed to find it cheap, so I purchased it.

                  {~~~Fragrance~~~}

                  This is one distinct, spicy and masculine fragrance, yet it retains elegeance. It is reallly difficult to describe this fragrance, let alone any, but I'd say this is pretty intense, but smooth at the same time. It has a distinct smell of spices, woody-amber, calabria lemon and coffee absolute. It is a combination of Western & Eastern fragrances which is obvious due to it's unique fragrance and ingredients.

                  For me, it lasts a few hours which isn't great, but I don't mind spraying it a couple of times a day. Perhaps I just perspire a bit much?

                  {~~~Presentation & Bottle~~~}

                  The 30ml, 50ml, and 75ml bottles come in a black, stylish and modern bottle with a firm flip-top cap. It is easy to open, and closes almost like a magnet is pulling the cap down. The bottle represents a magnified vintage cigarette lighter, and the grooves combined with the shiny black coating really makes this bottle stand out. Furthermore, the contrast of the black body and silver top-cap enhances its aesthetic appeal. Once the cap is opened, a regular spray lid is revealed, as is found on most sprays.

                  ~~~Conclusion~~~
                  I'd definitely recommend this if you can afford the price-tag. It is a very masculine, unique and intense smell which lingers for a fair length of time, and it remains smooth and elegant all at the same time!
                    Advantages
                    Disadvantages
                    These speakers do everything and more you could expect from them!
                    {~~~Introduction~~~}
                    I bought these speakers as they were reduced to £40 from about £90. I didn't need any but I found these "irresistible". I love technology and couldn't turn these down due to their touch screen, LCD display and the fact that the sound is transmitted via USB.
                    {~~~Packaging~~~}
                    These speakers are packaged neatly in a rectangular box, minimising the amount of cardboard used. There is also sufficient insulation so there's no need to worry about the speakers being damaged too much during transit if you are having them delivered.
                    {~~~First Impression~~~}
                    My first impression was certainly very positive. The glossy black colour of the speakers really make them look fantastic! And they don't look cheap. They are quite heavy and because the cables are all tied up it is a bit fiddly removing the speakers from the box at first. These were heavier that I expected but this isn't a bad thing at all as I never move them anyway. I was pleasantly surprised to see that a cleaning cloth is included!
                    {~~~Design~~~}
                    The two speakers in this system are connected by a dingle cable which is located at the back of each speaker. Each speaker is embellished with the black glossy look, along with a round 1-inch tweeter at the top and a 3-inch woofer. The main speaker functions as the control centre as it features an LCD screen on the front along with controls. If you have the speaker system connected via the USB cable, the LCD screen can display a manifold of useful information, including a clock, a computer performance monitor, a countdown timer, a POP3 e-mail monitor, and--most importantly--artist and track names. However, the last of these features only works with the most common and popular media players such as Windows Media Player and iTunes. However, this shouldn't post too much of a problem for most people. Even if you use a different program to listen to your music, you'll still be able to listen to it, however you won't be able to skip the track or see the track and artist name displayed on the LCD screen. You will still be able to adjust the volume!
                    There are several touch-sensitive buttons on the main speaker which control several functions including volume, mute, play/pause, track skip and forward/back. I'd like to repeat that only the volume buttons will work with less popular music programs. The touch-sensitive buttons will most definitely take some getting used to. I was getting quite frustrated at first, but I know how to use the buttons properly now. I definitely think that regular buttons would have been better in pragmatic terms, but they wouldn't look as stylish as these touch-sensitive ones. A remote control would have made a great addition, but nothing is perfect and I'm really happy with the design of these so far.
                    {~~~Setting the speakers up~~~}
                    Clear instructions are provided showing you how to set the speakers up. A software CD is provided for the LCD screen, however installation of the software is not compulsory in order to get the speakers functioning; you just will not be able to make use of all of the features available. You have the option of transmitting the sound via the USB cable, via the 3.5mm audio jack or both. The cables necessary are all included. However, the audio cable may me too short. This shouldn't be a problem as longer ones can be purchased online for a pound or so. If you decide to install the software, you can display the song name, CPU usage, time, analogue clock. Not all simultaneously of course! Furthermore, the software allows you to use the controls to forward, rewind the song from the speakers themselves. But these interactive features only work if the software is installed and the speakers are connected to the PC via USB cable. I currently have the AUX cable connected to my Playstation 3, and the USB connected to the Desktop PC.
                    {~~~Using the speakers~~~}
                    The main thing I use the interactive speakers for is adjusting the volume. The Bass and Treble can also be adjusted from the speakers themselves in case you are wondering. One thing to note is that if you adjust the volume from the speakers, the volume becomes adjusted to the same level on the PS3, unlike most other speakers where the volume can be controlled separately on the PC and the Speakers: this happens because the USB connection allows the speakers to communicate both ways unlike audio jack which just transmits audio to the speakers.
                    The AUX input is on the back of the main speaker, and has a small plug in it. I couldn't find it at first and it took me half an hour to find it. This is also great for plugging in your Ipod of mobile phone.
                    The audio output port is located on the left hand side of the main speaker for those who want to listen through headphones.
                    The speakers so get quite hot during use but this shouldn't pose a problem.
                    (p.s. main speaker=one with LCD display)
                    {~~~Appearance~~~}
                    The speakers really do look great on my desk with my desktop PC. They look very expensive and stylish. However, because they are glossy, they do show fingerprints and dust easily. But Logitech have been kind enough to include a cloth, which goes to show you are purchasing from a company which has clearly thoroughly tested their products over a period of time from a consumer's point of view.
                    The backlight is orange and looks quite cool, complementing the glossy black finish very well!
                    {~~~The Sound~~~}
                    Please forgive me as I am no audio technician. However, I can confidently state that the sound is really rich on these speakers and the bass is adequate enough for the majority of people. These speakers do go really loud so great for all those who enjoy listening to their music. Just be careful you don't cause yourself hearing-loss! :P
                    {~~~Final thoughts~~~}
                    I'd say I am very happy with my purchase overall. The novelty has far-long worn off. However, I'd definitely recommend these if you can get them for a good price. I rarely use the interactive features, but enjoy the LCD screen which is very informative.
