I was beginning to stop listening to music. Then this album was gifted to me and my love for music reborn straight away. Listening to this album the first time through was an absolutely amazing experience. And on a second listen opens up even more from the songs. In fact every time you listen to this album something new and exciting surfaces that you never noticed before making this album one of my absolute favourties still, even a few years down the line. As something new can still jump out and surprise me! Bon Iver is an indie-folk musician from Wisconsin. His soft music with beautifully crafted lyrics really make the album chilled. It was said that the writer isolated himself in a wood cabin, hunting for his own food while creating this album. This really comes across in songs like 'Skinny Love' with is gently seductive lyrics backed my soft guitar and other string sounds. However my personal favourite 'Creature Fear' contains a more upbeat melody. Definitely give this album a listen if you like subtly beauitful music like that of artists like Jose Gonzalez and Bright Eyes, you definitely will not regret it!
Stornoway are a quirky little band named after the town in Scotland. As a lover of most types of music i was drawn to the unique band. I happened across this band from a link on YouTube from the well known band Mumford & Sons (always been a favourite of mine) and was pleasurably surprised! And even more so when I found the album on Amazon for about £5. Bargain! The link to Mumford & Sons suggest similarities in there music, this is true for the modern folk style and the amazing arrangement of instruments. But the similarities stop there. Stornoway's stunning lead vocalist is backed but with brilliant lyrics and ingenious musical talent. The album opens with the song 'Zorbing'. the song is packed with magnificent melodies and really raw harmonies. My favourties would have to be the more upbeat number 'I Saw You Blink' with is catchy chorus and 'Watching Birds' for some really relatable lyrics. This album is made for the sunny day, relaxing in your garden! I would definitely tell you to give this a listen if you are a fan of 'Bombay Bicycle Club', 'Bon Iver' and other folksy bands, as this album should become a modern classic.
After having persistent troubles with a Samsung printer, I was pessimistic on wither a reliable printer actually exists. But this Hewlett Packard printer restored my faith. It is a wireless computer that is easily connected to many computers (and laptops) and with a simple download of the 'Hp Solution Center' scanning anything up to your computer/laptop is quick and simple. The wait time from send to print is very short. Which is very helpful if like my printer it is used by many people, continuously in a large household. Also copying is very easy to do with the reasonably sized touch screen. Many features are available, like recolouring and re-sizing. The print quality is high, producing good quality printouts and pictures of photograph paper. Which is quiet amazing due to the reasonable price. The ink cartridges to last quiet a long time so there isn't much need for fussy ink changes. However, I will say the price for replacements is pretty steep. There are cheaper, non-brand alternatives but these spoil your warranty, so it's not really worth it!
I hadn't even heard of Sennheiser when I stumbled across these little beauties on Amazon. However the cheap price and the decent reviews persuaded me to click 'Add to Basket'. When the product arrived at my door; I was very impressed. The headphones are very soft and fit comfortable around the ear. There is also a lovely padded section on the top which adds to the wearing comfort. Originally I bought these to be used with my guitar amp. My family were extremely fed up at the amount of noise I made! So I was even more amazed to find a 3.5mm Socket to 6.35mm Jack Adapter. So that the headphones would be usable straight away with the amp. As the actually end is the 'Average Joe' jack that can be used from almost everything from PCs to iPods. And on top of all this the headphones have a quite long cable length which makes playing with the headphones on very easy (not having to contort myself in to rather strange positions to play comfortably) and movement even easier. The sound quality is also very good for the price! They could handle songs with crazy drops and booming bass lines. All these features combined meant that these headphones became my first choice when I wanted to listen to some music any time, any where. The only down side that comes with these headphones is that the otherwise advantageous length wire, is not practical in all situations. I found myself wearing clothes with big pockets when out to curl up some of the excess wire into. This became even more of a problem when I put them on when going for a run. It was like jogging with a skipping rope! But this gave me another opportunity to test the product. They are very robust, having survived bouncing of the curb a few times! However having bought these for such a small price, it wasn't much of a downside to buy some cheap in-ear headphones for these more awkward of situations.
I expected more from the well know sports drink brand of Lucozade, being a lover of many of their other products. The packaging is bright and really draws the eye. And for the reasonably cheap price I couldn't help myself from picking up a few packets on my way to the till (there's my impulse buying throwing money away again). At first I was quite happy with the product, as the taste is quite satisfying. The texture in the mouth is quite intriguing as it bubbles and fizzes away. It did a good job of distracting my mind on a long run. But then the reality hit that the burst of energy that was promised just never emerged. I almost didn't even notice as I was so distracted my the experience. Maybe that is the point. Either way I was half way threw a pack before realizing the lack of energy that was promised. And that's all I can say really. To conclude, nice taste but just doesn't do what it says on the packet. And as that's the point of buying them. I would say never buy them at all. Buy normal energy drinks or some high in carb food instead.
Sure Red Bull is a high caffeine energy drink that gives you a bit of a buzz and keeps you some what awake. Also it can mix with spirits to produce an acceptable drink. But that it all of its better points. Bad points about this product: Expensive - This little 250mil can can cost you anywhere between £1 and £2 depending on the shop you are visiting. That's a lot of money for not much drink. That price would build up to a hell of a lot of money if regularly bought. Taste - The overall taste is okay at best, with a quite strange aftertaste. Not much to rave about really. The hype around this product is quite unreliable. In conclusion it is overpriced and boring. And it just does not give you wings. There are many, many other energy drink products on the market. Many are much nicer, cheaper and work better! I really wouldn't recommend this product unless you have no other option.
Right from the very beginning of this book I was hooked. The characters are very well balanced and immediately relatable, you can't help but route for them; especially the character of Peeta and dear little Prim. Suzanne writes a beautifully sculpted plot with enough twists and turns to keep any reader interested. The book is set in a post apocalyptic world where a power called the 'Capitol' rules over 12 Districts with is uses a labour for all their wants and needs. To remind the Districts who is in charge the Capitol calls for two children (one boy and one girl) aged 12 to 18 from each capitol to take part in a fight to the death. The rules are simple the last one alive survives. When the protagonists Katniss Everdeen's sister is called, she volunteers to save her. The story follows her heart wrenching story. This story really makes you wonder about the state of a world where kids are killed for entertainment and if it is a likely or unlikely scenario.
I bought this phone as I've always wanted a smart phone but could never purchase one because of the crazy price tags. However this Samsung phone is a enterprisingly cheap alternative. As it was one of the first of the galaxy line it isn't as fine tuned as the S and other products. this doesn't make this a bad phone. It runs the on the very well produces Android Operating System which is a battery drainer but is well worth it (although I will have to admit that I have to charge this phone every night). It is perfect for a teenager or avid social net worker. Androids app market doesn't offer as many apps of the Apple Store but it isn't too far behind. It still contains all the main apps and games that are desired by most people. If i had any complain it would be the that the phone sometimes freezes. This said these slow patches don't last long and don't particularly bother me too much.
In buying an iPod touch gets you more than just a music player. It can open you up to a world of portable gadgets and toys. The application store is extensive and interesting, with enough free apps to not cost too much as well. Personally I am a fan of book reading apps and games that are available. There is a brilliant range which means you are never bored. The top 20 section in the Store keeps you up to date with new, high flying apps. Also the iPod hooks up to the internet with a great connection. And of course the iPod touch's main use of playing music is perfect with great sound quality. Also the playlist ability and different ways of selecting songs is great with not to many options to clutter up the screen. Furthermore the music store is of a reasonable price and can allow downloading on the go. It also suggests what you may like, which is always good for finding a new band! In general all of the Apple technology is brilliant with minor changes needed here and there. And this iPod is just another amazing product from the company.
After playing PlayStation games through my childhood I was reluctant to play my new Xbox 360 that was given to me. But that was a huge mistake the Xbox had a great range of games and has excellence game immersion. This is down to the graphics sound and most importantly the controls. The Xbox Live feature may cost a lot but it is definitively worth it. Online games are just so enjoyable the system in most games. I also love the quick download of games (some of which free). Cloud gaming is obviously the feature of gaming and the Xbox 360 is ready for it. The Cloud memory space is another great feature. The console is small enough to fit into small cupboards and lacks it the earlier models downfall of overheating then crowded. The smooth, black case is very attractive and forces me to show it off to any friends or family.
