This book was written by a member of the Royal Marines Physical Training Staff called Sean Lerwill.
The Royal Marines Fitness Guide contains lots of guidance for anyone wanting to achieve a higher level of fitness, whether it's preparing for training, losing weight or putting on muscle mass.
I received this book on the Christmas of 2009. I'm now in the process of joining the Royal Marines, this book truly did inspire me to join.
This fitness training guide is not for the faint of heart. It's tough and contain very long, strenuous exercise regimes, but if you are truly serious about joining the elite Royal Marines, then you'd better stick it out.
The book contains instructions and a background to the physical training that all Royal Marines recruits undergo and how truly challenging and demanding they are. Although the training regimes contained in the book are very well structured and achievable.
The book is packed with facts and step-by-step instruction accompanied by hundreds of colour photographs. The manual provides you with all the tools and information you need to put together a training programme specific to your own targets, and to adapt it as you surpass your expectations and really does help you to pass the limits you didn't even know you had!
It not only helps your fitness but also gives a background and view into the lifestyle of the Royal Marines or the Military in general.
I would very much recommend this book to anyone seriously looking to drastically improve their fitness, and if they're very much serious about joining the Royal Marines. This is not a regime for if you want to lose a few pounds.
The Apple MacBook Pro is a great machine, and is my first MacBook which I received in late 2011, and I must truly say that I really really love it. One thing that really sold me was Time Machine. Time machine comes standard on any mac, and all you have to do is plug in an external hard drive and click "Use drive with Time Machine" Once you do that, the mac will do an initial backup, completely hassle free. After this, If you make any changes to the system, the files you changed are backed up, along with any older versions. Time Machine has its own interface that lets you view your computer as it was on a certain date so if you need a particular version of a file, or if you want to work with an older copy, it lets you do so quite effectively. If you're working on something extremely important, you can leave your drive plugged in, and the mac performs backups on a 1 hour interval. At the same time, you can remove the drive and plug it in later and it will do the backup of that moment. One last thing to note is that you can set up the Time Machine feature for multiple drives, so is useful if you have multiple storage systems such as myself.
Another advantage about the Macbook is its significantly easy to manage everything. Almost anything is 1-2 clicks away. Even files buried deeply in your computer somewhere can be found in moments using Spotlight. The dock makes launching applications easier, and always stays there, so you can launch applications without ever having to leave what you were doing.
The MacBook also looks incredible from the outside in, as well as having a massive amount of storage in the HD. To add to this, the MacBook has a very large amount of RAM which can make the experience a lot smoother and more enjoyable.
This is a film about the USMC (United States Marine Corps) it follows the trials and experiences that Anthony Swofford also know as Swoff, has to go through. It follows him on his journey from the safe environment of boot camp to the harsh realities of War. The movies title comes from the typical Marines "High and Tight" haircut.
Admittedly some people may not appreciate the reasoning behind the film being "slow to start", this is the case because it not only shows the adrenaline pumping action but also the tedious duty while waiting for action.
This film has become really cheap recently, yet it is still one of my favorites. If you are into the "War and Action" genre, then you are guaranteed to love this movie! Although if you're looking for a movie packed full of action, then I most likely wouldn't recommend this to you. Just a side note for parents, the movie is not graphic at all, but it does contain a lot of swearing, so bare that in mind.
I bought this product two months ago as I decided I wanted to get into a new hobby, and photography seemed perfect for me.
Although I have never had an extensive range of camera's, the picture quality on this camera is truly mind blowing, and that's all you'd expect at 14 MP (Mega Pixels). The camera has some very handy and impressive features, such as a 24 x Optical Zoom, which allows you to zoom in a great distance without loosing too much quality like you would with other cameras.
As I'm quite new to photography, I decided to buy an affordable camera, and the price of this camera is amazing for what you receive! I bought the product for £149.99 off Amazon, even though it's on there for £119.99, so get it while it's cheap! I promise you that you will NOT regret the decision a single bit.
The camera has a 3 inch LCD screen which is great for viewing the high quality picture you have just taken, as well as having a USB port so you can conveniently transfer your picture to and from you computer and laptop!
The product comes with a shoulder strap, a lens cap, a lens cap cord, a CD-ROM, as well as an Owner's Manual which is really helpful to amateur photographers such as myself!
The camera has a built in feature known as "Tracking Auto Focus", this feature allows you to capture dynamic close-ups as this function keeps fast moving subjects in the frame and in focus, this is helpful if taking pictures of events such as an air show, a football match or horse riding.
As well as taking very high quality pictures, this camera also allows you to shoot 720p HD movie capture at 30fps, this makes for some smooth movies which can be connect to HD ready TV's for instant playback using a HDMI output.
Another great feature is the fact that this camera doesn't require any special batteries or charging every hour or so, because this camera runs off simple AA x Batteries which can be bought from almost any store.
The camera also seems to work great in any type of atmosphere or lighting situation such as at night time or in other dark areas.
The only two downsides I can see to this camera is: One, the camera is slightly heavy which can lead to your hand shaking if trying to get that perfect still picture, although this can be solved easily using the shoulder strap which comes with the product. The other problem, which to me is quite a major one, is the fact that it requires SD (San Disc cards), this is because the camera has NO internal memory. This is such a big problem because unless you buy a SD card with a high memory storage, it can lead you to having lots of SD cards scattered around the house, not knowing which one is which. SD cards can also be quite expensive on top of the price of the camera.
This Toshiba TV is a HD ready TV with an led back light which guarantees a great picture! The sound and picture quality were very impressive, allowing you to vary the setting among other usual setting like brightness or surround sound options, this was perfect if you know how to do this. I found the picture quality in particular much better than my previous Sony 40" TV.
The TV itself is quite... large, although I must say that I found setting up the TV particularly easy!
Although at ~£300 it's quite pricey and because I only use it as a bedroom TV which is only used by myself and my partner it is a little pricey and if I had to decide again, I would go for a cheaper brand.
I've also had a few issues with this TV such as it not turning on, but I wouldn't let this put you off because it might only be me?
I've had every iPhone Apple has ever marketed and personally the most notable change with the new iPhone is the design Apple seems to have completely rethought its views on how the phone should look and feel, and the results are amazing, I was never fond on the older designs, but love this one!
Another drastic change is the screen, as the iPhone 4 has an all-new display which Apple is calling "Retina Display" due to its high resolution and pixel density. For all you tech whizzes, it has a LED back lit, 960 x 640 IPS screen. Although to my great disappointment it has the same 3.5-inches as the older designs.
Because an iPhone 4 review is such a broad subject, here are the best features that I can think of:
Multitasking, an Appstore full of games and day to day apps such as alarm clocks or cooking apps.
As I'm very prone to dropping my phones, as I've already broken four phones already. I realized that I would need a sturdy case to take the impact caused by my butter fingers.
As a child I absolutely loved Lego, so in an attempt to bring back old memories I decided to go with a Lego iPhone case! It fits my phone perfectly, it looks really cool and it has a nice feeling/texture to it!
I've already dropped my phone twice since I got it (2 weeks ago) and I haven't received a single scratch!
I bought this case off Amazon for a price of £3.99 which is a bargain considering it came with free postage!
The only problems I can find with this case is that it turns your previously thin, slick iPhone into a fat square, but I suppose it is Lego! It also causes problems when using the camera, as you can often slightly see the case, but it's easily solved with scissors!
Overall, I love this case!
