Firstly, I have really flawed and pale combination skin, however this foundation gives a fantastic coverage, leaving a silky smooth finish. The particular shade I use is called 'Creamy Ivory' and although it is the lightest shade, it does not leave me looking ghostly pale, and it blends perfectly with my skin tone. The product comes with a compartment at the back which contains a small sponge to apply the liquid foundation with, however I much prefer to use a foundation brush as it makes it last longer and also gives a more even coverage. I also think the compartment at the back would have been handy if it doubled as a mirror, but unfortunately it does not. The foundation is a perfect consistency and does not leave my face looking too cakey as I have found with other foundations. The packaging looks sophisticated and is made of strong transparent plastic, which means it does not easily break, and can handle being thrown around in your bag. You do not get a large amount of foundation in terms of what you pay for it (I buy it for £12.99 at Boots and it usually lasts me about three weeks) but because it's a fabulous foundation, I do not mind paying that much for it, especially as there are much more expensive brands out there which give the same quality and quantity. I usually wear this foundation from 7.00am and it lasts all day. However, I also use a matte powder over the top of it (Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder) because otherwise my face looks too shiny, particularly around the nose area. I absolutely love the texture of this foundation. It's really smooth and creamy, and I don't even have to apply a moisturiser beforehand. It leaves you with a dewy complexion, and even though I have a few spots as well as acne scarring, the foundation hides the flaws impressively, and gives me a real confidence boost.
I absolutely love this powder, and ever since I discovered it, I haven't used any other! I buy this product for £3.99 at Boots and it's worth every penny. Although it's cheap, I would argue that it works just as well as the more expensive powders I've tried in the past, although I do have to reapply later on in the day, especially as my nose can get very shiny! This product does not work well when used without a liquid foundation or moisturiser underneath. I use this product to set my liquid foundation (I use Max Factor Miracle Touch) and to take away any shine. As I am quite pale, I always have to buy the lightest shades, and even then they can still be too dark! However, I use the shade 'Transparent' in this powder, and it blends with my skin tone really well and also makes my blemishes look much less noticeable and leaves a flawless (and silky!) finish which usually lasts up to five hours before having to be reapplied. The product comes in a transparent plastic case, so you are able to see what shade the powder is before purchasing. If you are putting this product into your handbag, (It is really compact, and could easily fit into a small clutch bag on a night out) you have to be careful that the powder doesn't break up as I have had that problem in the past, and as the lid easily comes off, if the powder breaks up, it can leak out.
A few months ago I was in HMV just browsing along the aisles. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but then I came across Ellie Gouldings album, "Lights". I had heard a few songs of hers on the radio - mainly "Starry Eyed", and I had thought that they were rather catchy, so when I saw her album in HMV, I just had to buy it. Especially as it was so cheap! I played it from start to finish on my laptop as soon as I got home, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good an album it was. Usually, there are songs that I tend to skip when listening to CD's, however whenever I listen to this one, I find myself singing along to each song. I like how Ellie Goulding has such a distinctive voice, very unlike other artists that are in the Top 40 nowadays. It's nice to listen to something a bit more fresh, rather than the same old R'n'B singers. I also find it helps me to tidy up a lot quicker as it makes nice background music! I like the album cover too, and how it is simple, yet something a little different. The only downside it had to it, is that the songs have pretty much the same tempo, however I would definitely recommend this album to anyone who enjoys pop and/or folktronica.
I recieved this "Front Cover" makeup set as a gift from my parents last Christmas. I was really excited about trying out the new range of eyeshadows, especially as the set contained tubes of coloured glitters. I had purchased the Winter 08/09 version the year before, and was extremely pleased with it, and I have to say, I wasn't dissapointed with the latest one either. I love how there is ideas on how to go about creating the look you want on the inside of the box. There is also a variety of different eyeshadows, all in exotic and unique colours such as "Bougainvillea" and "Moon River". Along with the eyeshadows and glitter, there is also shadowliner. This means that you can create a liquid eyeliner using the eyeshadows in the box. You will never run out of eye makeup ideas. For what you get within this box (20 eye shadows, 4 glitter eye colours, shadowliner liquid and brushes) the price is fantastic. I really do believe it was a real bargain, and if/when a later version of this product comes out, there will be no hesitation towards me buying it. I chose this product over others because it instantly appealed to me as soon as I saw it. The front of the box is arty and colourful, with examples of what you can do with the set. The layout of the items within the product is nicely set out and labelled, and all-in-all it is a very neat product which I would highly recommend to all make-up lovers everywhere.
