Handy stuff when needing an iron boost

Being told by my doctor early this year that I am Anaemic kind of made sense to me! When I do get sleep I still feel fatigue, my nails get dry my lips are a blueish colour I've always been pale and I certainly feel the cold even when we had our warm spell I still had a full duvet over me at night. How they found out in the end was because I faint from time to time, when I was strapped to an ECG machine they found my heart beat to be slightly off which can be due to Anaemia not being treated. I'm all fine now though! Vitabiotics Feroglobin - Liquid Iron: 'Feroglobin-B12® is a delicious honey and orange flavour liquid iron formula with nutrients to help maintain health and vitality, including folate which contributes to the reduction of tiredness & fatigue. It provides a gentle, organic form of iron citrate complex for improved absorption, along with B vitamins and supporting trace minerals, blended with honey and Swiss Alpine Malt' - www.vitabiotics.com My findings: When my doctor explained to me that I would need to start to take iron supplements I was thinking great a pricey repeat prescription but luckly she explained it would be cheaper for me to purchase over the counter and would just have me back every few months for the occasional blood test to monitor my iron levels. Tried a few iron tablets some didn't sit very well with me giving me a stomach upset and yes green poo! So I went for liquid ones which seem to suit me much more and no more upset tummies! This version is also vegetarian and approved by the vegetarian society. It contains no - Fat or yeast Alcohol Lactose Artificial colours Not tested on animals Directions to take this medicine are easy, adults one 5ml twice a day for the time of menstruation one 5ml three times a day. Children 1-3 years half a 5ml once a day, 4-6 years half 5ml twice a day and 7-12 years one 5ml one to two times daily. The consistency is a little thick and dark brown in colour I personally can not see many children taking this without a struggle! Even I, when I first saw it was very off put; however I have to say I rather like the taste of this one. It has a deep honey taste with a slight hint of orange I can not really taste the malt. So what does the iron help to do for the body? Well it helps the formation of red blood cells for normal oxygen transport around the body. In return reduce the fatigue and tiredness which I have to say I really do feel the benefits. After a few days of starting liquid iron I found I have a bit more up and go in me rather than having to force myself to get up. It took around a month before my nails weren't so dry and flaky at the top, but all in this product has very much helped. As with any medication it is always wise to consult a professional first as it could always be an underlining issue! I would like to mention also if you are having to take this tea and coffee, antacids and calcium will make it harder for your body to absorb the iron. That doesn't mean you have to stop having them but be wary of your intake. I am vegetarian and no it isn't the reason I have Anaemia and you will find more iron in vegetables such as kale than a slab of meat. This product comes in a red box, the bottle is plastic and can be recycled once empty. The safety cap is a bit if nightmare but after all it has to be safe. To be stored below 25c and shake well before use. Price and Availability: Tesco have this at 3 for 2 often normally around the £4 mark which is a great buy, they come in 200ml bottles. There is also a plus version which I now take which costs just a couple more pounds. Also in tablet form. Overall: You would be surprised how Anaemia makes you feel, I take supplements and also add iron rich food to my diet and things seem to be going ok. I like this product, it is easy on my tummy, has a pleasant taste and I could feel the benefits. There is a lot to be said on Anaemia and have added an address below which could be of use. www.vitabiotics.com/feroglobin/original-liq_main.aspx www.nhs.uk/conditions/Anaemia-iron-deficiency-/Pages/Introduction.aspx Five out of five stars from me Thank you for reading. Cheap and decent nail polish

I just love paint my nails different colours, I do many different types of Martial Arts which means my feet on are show a lot. I hate feet as it is but pretty painted toes make them look better! Make Up Academy - Nail Varnish: 'Make Up Academy provides trend shades on a budget, allowing you to achieve the latest looks without breaking the bank!' - www.superdrug.com My Findings: I personally think this budget range from Superdrug is extremely good! Most items are only £1 and more than often they are on offer at three for the price of two. I have been using a lot of their nail varnishes as I have to admit they are better than some of the higher branded ones. There is many different colours to pick from and their range just seems to be getting bigger and better. When applying it is recommend you use two coats, just waiting a minute or two between coats. For me I have found this to dry rather quick comparing it to other low-priced nail polishes. Applying this to my nails it isn't thick or watery and the brush I find glides over my nails nicely. The handle is small but I find that easier to manage when doing my nails. All the colours I have used so far have dried well and the colours have been great just how I wanted them. Like with all polishes there is a chemical scent, these luckily I don't find to strong I still paint my nails by a window or away in the conservatory as I don't like the smell of any nail varnishes. For a £1 nail varnish these last really well, on my toes at least a good week or so and my fingernails at least four or five days. I think it would last longer but as working in a hotel always washing my hands, and when I am training they are in and out of boxing gloves, pads etc so this polish really holds its own. You can use a sealer if you want it to last longer but I like to change the colour of my nails a lot so it is fine for me. Price and Availability: MUA is a Superdrug own brand product so they can only be purchased from their store or via the internet. The basic ones are only £1 but they also have different ones and art kits well worth a look. Overall: Love these polishes, they have great staying power, good drying time and cheap what more could I want! Fully recommend and some perfect Christmas colours coming out now. Five out of Five stars from me. Thank you for reading. (c) Copyright VampirePrincess 2013

A nice enough conditioner, not for bad bad hair though

Like I have said before I am not loyal to any hair brand really and will pretty much pick what is on offer at the time. I love Superdrug for this they seem to have different offers on most of the time for hair care. Superdrug Extracts Conditioner Coconut & Almond - 'Let nature do the work with Superdrug Coconut & Sweet Almond conditioner for dry/damaged hair. Formulated with natural almond extract and coconut oil, this conditioner helps restore moisture and shine. Your hair will look healthy and shiny and feel soft, clean and easier to manage' - www.superdrug.com My Findings: When I purchase shampoos and conditioners I like to have them matching, so having used and reviewed the shampoo it is the conditioners turn now. So once I have shampooed my hair I always have to use a conditioner, my hair is long, very thick and had lots of colouring over the years. So there no chance of me getting out of conditioning my hair. This works just like any other conditioner, squeeze some of the product out of its bottle and massage into your hair. I always start out with a smaller amount, and then I can tell by the feel of my hair if more is needed. Personally I leave the conditioner on for around five minutes or so, longer sometimes if I have enough time to chill out a bit. Rinsing is nice and easy and you can feel the smoothness of your hair as the water runs though it. I did however need to use more than some other conditioners, but it still did a very good with my hair. I also think the consistency is a little thinner than others of the same too. One thing I do love is the scent, and like always I wish it lasted longer on my hair but once dry you can hardly smell anything. After use my hair certainly feels, soft and manageable which is what I want, and the feeling remains the day after too. If you had rather dry hair I personally wouldn't recommend it, but a general use this is really good and great value for money. This product comes in a plastic bottle with a flip lid which is easy to open, once empty is can be recycled and BUAV approved. Price and Availability: I purchased this a couple of weeks back for only 99p in a deal they were running at the time. Now they have a new deal of buy one and get one half price which is still a good offer. Overall: This is a nice little conditioner, doesn't leave my hair feeling weighed down but light, fresh and clean. I have purchased this one a couple of times now and would purchase it again when on offer. Four out of five stars from me Thank you for reading. © Copyright VampirePrincess

A super yummy toffe apple cider

I do like an alcoholic beverage now and again, like always I like to try new things and generally take a look around the supermarkets to see what is on offer. Brothers - Toffee Apple Premium Cider: 'It has taken 4 Brothers and 14 generations of cider makers, from the Showering family, to create this unique Toffee Apple Cider. The delicious blend of cream soda & smoldering toffee is for those who don't do normal cider' - www.brotherscider.co.uk My Findings: I'm really not one for normal ciders just really dislike the taste; however I do like the different kinds of ciders, like the red fruits etc. When I was doing a bit of shopping these were on offer, I like toffee and I like apples so I popped a few in the trolley. Not having tried this before I was intrigued to know what theses would be like and I have to say they were delicious! After chilling I poured into a tall glass, there was a nice fizz to it and you could smell the sweetness. My first taste I was blown away just how yummy and morish this actually was! You have a sweet slightly warming bubbly apple taste then you get the rich tasty toffee. I was surprised just how much it does taste like toffee apples however a lot nicer and doesn't get stuck in your teeth. I like the fact that there was a nice light sparkle to the drink, but the right amount of bubbles for me. Too many can make things rather gassy, however here I think they have got then right combination. Some flavoured drinks I think can have a somewhat artificial taste but this tastes so crisp and fresh, for freshness this has to be one of the best ciders I've tried. You need a bottle opener to remover the lid but it comes off easy enough. This one is perfect for the colder nights and it has a smooth warming feel to it with the toffee, great for your bonfires. This drink is suitable for vegans, gluten free and contains no artificial colours best of all contains no fat. It is a rather sweet drink so not suited for all, I love sweet foods and drinks so for me this is perfect and looking forward to my last bottle tonight when I finish work. This drink comes in a 500ml glass bottle which clearly displays the units within (2 units - 4%vol) and drink awareness. The whole look of the bottle I have to admit was inviting the brown colour of the bottle matched lovely with the labeling. Once consumed the bottle can be recycled. I also like the fact that this is a British cider and a darn good one at that! Price and Availability: Asda was selling these beauties off at only £1 per bottle (500ml), I really wish I got a few more now. I'm not a massive drinker but one on a night now and then is gorgeous. Normally price is around the £2 mark which is still good value when you think how much it would cost you in a pub. You can all purchase this in cans 4x440ml for around the £5.50 mark. Overall: I'm glad I gave this a chance and I really do enjoy and drink of this now and again. If you do like toffee and sweetness I would full recommend in giving this one a go. Five out of five stars from me. Thank you for reading. © VampirePrincess

A brillaint face cleanser from Burt's Bees

There are a lot of beauty products on the market a brand I had never tried before was Burt's Bees. My friend Toni raves about them and it is the only product she will use on her face. Being a great friend as she is she got me a few Burt's Bees items for me to try. Burt's Bees - Soap Bark & Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream: 'Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream is a rich, sulfate-free facial cleanser is made with a gentle, yet effective plant-based cleansing complex featuring quillaja saponaria (soap) bark extract and witch hazel. Luxurious lather foams away excess dirt, oil and make-up leaving skin feelling clean and refreshed. Extracts of chamomile, echinacea and aloe help calm skin while glycerin and cocoa butter provide a touch of moisture for naturally fresh, healthy skin.' - www.burtsbees.co.uk My Findings: I have used a good many different face cleansing over the years and I have to say this has jumped right to the top of my list. I've been using this product for around four weeks now and the feeling it gives my skin is just amazing. My only thing is as it is a pretty much natural product (98% they claim) it has a massive ingredients list, however it is sulfate, parabens, phthalates and petrochemical free. Not tested on animals which is a big plus on my list and is BUVA approved. Using this product is nice and easy, wet your face then apply a small amount of the cleanser to your finger tips and massage over the face. You only need a small amount it goes go along way, it has a slight cooling effect when applying to the skin but in a refreshing way. It smooths over my skin with ease, you don't really get a much of a lather with this one but you can certainly feel the cleansed feeling over the skin as you are using the cream. Once massaged over the skin you simply rinse off, straight away I could feel a difference and I was surprised on what a big difference too. I have always looked after my skin and it was already smooth but this made it softer like a fresh skin feel. Looking at my skin in the mirror too it looked refreshed and ready to start the day; I couldn't believe the big difference from just my first use. Each time I use this product I still get that amazingly clean and fresh feel which will last pretty much the whole day. The cream itself is white in colour and has a slight thick consistency. There is a sweet clean scent to it with a slight menthol hint to it. All in all very refreshing, the product comes in a plastic tube there smaller sized ones the lids are screw off but nice and easy to get the content out. Once empty it is fully recyclable too. Price and Availability: 170g tube will cost around £11, this will last for months I had two of the 20g tubes and only just finished one of them. That was using it every morning and most nights for around four weeks, I personally think that is good value for money. You can purchase direct from there website, where it is easy to get carried away! Or places like Boots also stock their products. Overall: I can not get across really on how much I love this product, just started my last tube now so I know I have another four weeks left. I think I will certainly be purchasing more as just how refreshed and livened up my face feels each time I just love it! It doesn't state what skin type this is for, I have a sensitive to combination skin and I have no problems with this what so ever. But if you are worried when trying a new product a patch test is always recommend. I fully recommend this product no doubting my five stars! Thank you for reading. © Copyright VampirePrincess Ingredients - aqua (water, eau), helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, stearic acid, glycerin, cetearyl alcohol, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, polysorbate 60, cetyl alcohol, silica, quillaja saponaria (soap) bark extract, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, echinacea purpurea (coneflower) extract, hamamelis viginiana (witch hazel) extract, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, tocopherol, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, citrus medica limonum (lemon) peel oil, menthol, lavandula hybrida (lavandin) oil, litsea cubeba fruit oil, citrus aurantifolia (lime) oil, sucrose stearate, xanthan gum, glycine soja (soybean) oil, canola oil (huile de colza), glucose, sodium chloride, glucose oxidase, lactoperoxidase, citral, limonene

An ok shampoo, good for the price

I must admit I am not very brand loyal when it comes to shampoos and conditioners, I just generally purchase what is on offer. I have my favourites so normally stock up when come on offer, but on the hold whatever deal is on. Superdrug - Extracts Shampoo Coconut & Almond: 'Let nature do the work with Superdrug Coconut & Sweet Almond shampoo for dry/damaged hair. Formulated with natural almond extract and coconut oil, this shampoo cleanses and helps restore moisture and shine'. - www.superdrug.com My Findings: This is the second time I have purchased this shampoo now and I must say it works well with my hair. I have very thick and slightly dry at times hair. I do colour my hair a lot so I do tend to look for shampoo's that either cater for dry or coloured hair. Pretty much normal consistency when it comes to shampoos, white in colour but I do find you need to use a bit more than some other brands in order to get a good lather going. The fragrance isn't all that strong, subtle but sweet and noticeable. The fragrance is a light sweet coconut with a soap like hint, not strong at all, reminds me a little of some suntan lotions. Which I guess I'm not going to be using for a while! Once used my hair feels clean, which, after all is the aim here but it does feel slightly heavy so conditioning is a must. I have to condition anyway otherwise I wouldn't get a brush through it! There much better shampoos by Superdrug and other brands but for the money not bad. Like most shampoos you just apply to wet hair and rub in, once a nice lather has been created you just rinse from your hair. The product comes away from my hair with ease, and you can tell the difference once used. Product comes in a plastic bottle with a flip lid, nice and easy to open, and shampoo comes out with ease. Once empty can be recycled! Suitable for vegetarians and vegans and what do like with Superdrug items they are against animal testing. Price and Availability: At the moment this is on offer for only 98p! This is brilliant value for money. There is also several other fragrances / styles to cater for all needs. www.superdrug.com/shampoos Overall: For me this is a standard shampoo, cleans hair ok and has a nice fragrance. For rather dry hair or badly damaged I wouldn't recommend this one. Three out of five stars from me. Thank you for reading. © VampirePrincess

A sweet new scent from Estee Lauder

Love the holiday times, friends and family that know me, know I like my fragrances so I do end up getting a lot of smellies which is great! Estee Lauder I must admit isn't my favourite I find there scent just too floral. However this one has certainly changed my mind on the brand. Estee Lauder - Modern Muse Eau De Parfum: 'The carefully constructed blending of two distinctively different yet equally dynamic accords provides an intriguing, innovative dual impression. This unique dual-accord structure makes Modern Muse a true innovation in fragrance design. As complex and fascinating as the woman who inspires it' - www.esteelauder.co.uk My Findings: This is Estee Lauder's newest fragrance and I must admit I am surprised on just how much I like it, whether my taste is changing in perfumes I don't know. For me I personally think it is deep and kind of sexy sophisticated fling to it. From the Estee Lauder website it states that this Eau De Parfum has a feeling of confidence, independents and Inspiring. Which I have to agree with, I am always amazed how items can affect your moods well this one certainly feels like it gives me fighting female boost. The notes - * Exotic Mandarin * Honeysuckle Nectar * Dewy Petals * Jasmine Sambac * China Absolute * Tuberose Fleur Fir Nat * Fresh Lily * Patchouli Coeur * Patchouli Crist * Amber Wood * Suede Musk * Madagascar Vanilla SFE Now there is rather a lot going on here but I feel they all combine well, well I like it anyway! At first I have a lovely scent, deep scent a bit citrus like with a oriental flare to it. It then seems to take on a deeper twist which is where the amber and the musk comes into play. It still keeps that sweet floral hint but seems to smooth out into a confident fresh aroma. At times I can detect the lily but then it seems to back drop slightly with subtle back drops of floral vanilla. Like I said there is a lot going on but it does all marry nicely together. The bottle design I think is somewhat classy, and a bit more fun compared to the other Estee Lauder fragrances. It is kind of like a bow style top, you don't have to remove the top at all as the spray is connected to it. Bottle is glass and the text is simply yet elegant, certainly looks good on my dresser! It is a clear liquid, a good amount comes out with each spray, I haven't have any experience with it staining my clothes and it hasn't irritated my skin in anyway. Like with all Estee Lauder fragrances the longevity is always good. A few sprays of this will pretty much last me the whole day, even when I haven't sprayed it I can still smell it on my scarf. Price and Availability: I have the 30ml bottle which looking online via Boots will cost £43.50, a little pricey I know but now I have it I certainly think it is worth the money. You can also get the 50ml - £59.50 and the 100ml - £84.99 I'm sure there will be other fragrance outlets where you may be able to get one a little cheaper. Overall: Estee Lauder has certainly won me over on this one, and I think most mid-twenties and above will also like it. It isn't overly floral and has a tamed sweetness to it, get staying power one I would certainly re-purchase. Five out of five stars from me. Thank you for reading. © VampirePrincess

                  Boring Nescafe Coffee

Nescafe I have to say isn't my first choice when it comes to coffee, but if late at night and watching a bit of a coffee fix unless doing a night shift I will have a decaff. Nescafe Original - Decaff 'The Arabica coffee bean contains about half of the caffeine content of the Robusta bean and is thus more suitable for making high quality decaf coffee. There are rare types of Arabica that naturally have very low caffeine levels as well' - www.nescafe.co.uk My Findings: Like I said Nescafe isn't a first choice but to a seasonal coffee drinker on the hold it isn't a bad coffee. It is weaker to a lot of coffees but still you have a nice mild coffee taste. It is freeze dried instant granules, so no messing around just pour on hot water and jobs done. For coffee I do like to add two sweeteners and if it's my first cup on the morning I have it with two cheeky sugars! This is by no means a morning coffee as it will do nothing for you it is on the hold somewhat a dull cup of coffee. The sticks contain one cup all measured ready for you, they are very handy for popping in your bag and taking to work. You just rip the top open which is very easy done, pour into the cup and then however you like your coffee. Some coffee have a somewhat bitter aftertaste, this doesn't have none. Just a mild hint of coffee and for a strong coffee drink this would really be like water for them. If you are making chocolate cake for children adding coffee with intensify the flavour so this is good to use. Price and Availability: You can get these in a box of 200 for around £18.00 so 200 cups of coffee for £18.00 that isn't all that bad! Or if you want to purchase in a jar will cost around £4.00 for the 200g jar. Overall: Personally I can not see these high on anyone's shopping list, far better decaf's out there and well if you want coffee you want the caffeine! So I don't recommend them on the hold, but if that is what you like go ahead. Two out of five stars from me. Thank you for reading. (c) Copyright VampirePrincess

                    Cleaning power from Domestos

People that know me would tell you I am a bit OCD when it comes to cleaning. My Nan was the same and I guess as I used to be around her a lot it rubbed off! Domestos - Pink Power Bleach: '24 Hour protection from flying toilet rim germs and is a powerful weapon against gems in the home' - www.asda.com My Findings: One of the main rooms in house I like to keep clean is the down stairs toilet and the bathroom upstairs. Nothing worse than a dirty toilet! I buy all different brands of bleach I can't say I am overly loyal to any of them. Normally will purchase when on offer or go for supermarkets own brand. I must admit I do rather like this version, it is thicker than a few others I have used in the past, clear in colour and the scent isn't overpowering. I find with bleach the scent can be way to strong, personally makes me feel a little nauseated. The angle of the bottle top works perfectly fine for me and it is easy to squeeze around the rim of the toilet. You can see the bleach cling to the toilet, I then leave it for a couple of minutes then use the toilet brush to rub the inside of the toilet. Domestos makes my toilets look squeaky clean and they always seem to have a nice fresh shine to them. I also use this in the bath and around the sides of the bath, I fill the bath so it can just about cover my hand then I get to work with the sponge around the bath. I've also used this on the tiles and the flooring in the bathroom all of which have come up perfectly clean. It smells wonderfully clean but the fumes don't knock me flying. I always use gloves when handling this product as it does state it can cause irritation. Bleach can be a very dangerous chemical so it is important we use it correctly and safely! Once the bottle is empty it can be recycled. I the toilet I use it neat, but obviously when I use it for cleaning I dilute it first 120ml of domestos will cater for 5 litres of water. Down side the safety top isn't the best and very easy to open, however all my cleaning products are out of children's reach. Price and Availability: The 750ml is normally around the £1.00 and at the moment you are getting 33% extra free so one litre for £1 great value for money. Overall: I personally think this is one of the better bleaches I have used; I have purchased this a few times now and will certainly purchase it again. Fully recommended, works incredibly well without that over powering scent! Four out of five stars from me. Thank you for reading. (c) Copyright VampirePrincess

                    Yummy naughty chocolate :)

I really should review the healthy things I do, but here I am again with some naughty chocolate! My favourite chocolate brand is Lindt so when I seen they did a new one. Well I couldn't contain myself. Lindt - Lindor Limited Edition Cookies and Cream: 'The Stracciatella cornet contains 200g of white chocolate praline balls with cocoa nibs, and tastes like delicious cookies and cream. Exquisitely creamy chocolate and artistic mastery combine to create our Lindor ball with an irresistibly smooth center guaranteed to melt the heart of every chocolate connoisseur' - www.lindt-shop.co.uk My Findings: Doing some shopping in my local Tesco, popping down the naughty chocolate and sweets section I spotted a new Lindor the irresistible smooth Stracciatella. I really do have a weakness for this brand and don't have it often at all as I really could polish a box off in one! But temptation got the better of me on this occasion and oh my, way it worth it. I grabbed my fleecy, tucked myself up on the sofa with my dog and heaven surely landed. Trying my first one, well my taste buds were mesmerised. These stunning little treats are all wrapped individually in a foil blue wrapper. Undoing the wrapper and revealing this tempting yummyness you could smell the sweet white chocolate already. My first taste, well I was unable to talk for awhile I was just blown away and floating on cloud nine. The shell of the chocolate has a little firmness to it but just melts as you bite into it, then the middle, wow just orgasm material right there. It is soft and just melts away in your mouth, a lovely rich sweet white chocolate with hints of cookie. Lindt do these in just white chocolate and I thought it was going to be just like that, only these are not as sweet and the plain white chocolate version. Although it states tastes like cookies and cream there is no actual cookies within this mix. Just Swiss white chocolate and flicks of cocoa. Either way, I just can not put this into the right words to say just how good these are. There is no crunch bits, it is all just very smooth and ever so inviting with each bite. I'm guessing these have been designed for the Christmas sale. As they come in a blue box with faded white snow flakes pattern. Nutritional Information: Per 100g 630 - Calories 4.8g - Protein 39.1g - Carbohydrate 50.75g - Fat 35.5g - Saturates 47.92g - Sodium All I can say is these are designed as treats and certainly not for everyday consumption, I had the box last night still have half left. I intend on savoring the last few! I had to dig around on the internet to find the nutritional information which should have been on the box for me to see straight away. Price and Availability: For the 200g box which I think is the only size you can get of this type around the £4.00 mark but on offer at £3.50 the time I purchased them. I think that is good value as you get a decent amount per box. Overall: Well yes the fat content is scary but after all these are treats to have now and then. I believe everything is fine in moderation. But I have added another hour to my gym time!! These for me are certainly morish, deadly and delicious comes to mind. They melt easy so do store in a cool place. They should however display more information to their packaging, in this day and age something simple like the nutritional value I would have thought was pretty much a standard. Five out of five for the chocolate Three out of five for packaging. Thank you for reading. Additional Information: Sugar, Cocoa butter, Vegetable fats, Whole milk powder, Skimmed milk powder, Cocoa Kernels 1%, Emulsifier (Soya Lecithin), Flavourings, Glazing agent (Gum arabic). Product does not contain actual cookies or cream. May contain traces of Hazelnuts and Almonds.

A face mask from Lush which was a total let down :/

One of my favourite things to do is have a pamper day, of late I really haven't had time for many at all. But had some free time I popped into Lush as I haven't tried any of their face masks before. I guess I kind of wished I stuck to what I know works! Lush - Oatifix Fresh Face Mask: 'Altogether, a gentle mask that is perfect to feed dry or sensitive skin. Oatifix was invented by our shop managers on an inventing day at the factory. They wanted something for dry skin, that didn't cause irritation to sensitive skin types.' - www.lush.co.uk My Findings: My skin can re-act at times to new products so I'm always caution at first and carry out a patch test just incase. The lady in the Lush store advised this would be perfect for my skin and it was suitable for all skin types and shouldn't cause any irritation. So all in all that sounded good my skin was a little dry due to the cold weather and was told this would certainly help. As I purchased a few items I was given one application of this free of charge which I think was rather nice of her. You don't get many shops giving you a freebie! How I was told to use the product was to cleanse my face first, then apply to skin and leave for around ten minutes before rinsing away from my face. Smoothing this face mask on was a little tricky with the lumps of oats, some bids just dropped to the floor. It wasn't rough or grainy either it was like a soft mushy paste but didn't look attractive at all. It smelt very much like my breakfast, I had porridge with banana and honey! Being as you have to store in the fridge it was rather cool applying to skin which in the summer time great, but right now it is already cold. So once my ten minutes was up, it was time to wash the mask from my face and geez it felt like it took forever! Just using plain luke water warm the mask wasn't really coming off so I had to use my facial flannel which then did the trick. But certainly took me around five minutes if not a little longer to remove the product. Patting my face dry appearance of my skin was just the same and sadly it didn't feel any different either after all that effort. I'm really glad I had this as a freebie, product comes in a tub where you have to scoop the mask out. Price and Availability: As this is a Lush own product it can only be purchased from their store or via the web site costing £5.95 for a 75g tub. Overall: I do like the fact that this is a vegan product but sadly it did nothing at all for my skin. It does have some good reviews so it is a case of trial and error if this will work for your skin or not. Maybe see if you can get a sample for first. One out of five stars from me. A nice bath time treat without a high price tag :)

If you are a follower of my reviews you will know I adore my baths, and I like to try pretty much any bath product. A good place to get some cheap bath products is my local chemist, pretty all around the 90p-£1.00 mark! Cussons Pure Moisturising Bath Foam: 'A rich and creamy formula that gently cleanses and cares for your skin, leaving it feeling clean and soft. Shea butter can help protect and moisturise skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth whereas Honey is a naturally hydrating ingredient known for its moisturising benefits for skin' - www.chemistdirect.co.uk My Findings: I do try and get items that have moisturising properties as my skin does dry out, I've used this in the past and now I'm just coming to the end of another bottle. This is also a favorite of my moms so it does go down faster than my other stuff! For me I love the combination of shea butter and honey they seem to marry together so nicely. I have used this in both shower and bath and they work fine either way. The product is a pale, creamy off white colour and is a thickish consistency. When pouring under the hot water tap the water immediately starts to bubble which luscious thick bubbles. The fragrance isn't at all that strong just a mild sweet soap like scent which is rather pleasant and not over powering. Normally when it comes to items with honey in the honey really stands out however on this product you can hardly detect any scent of it whatsoever. I do like items that have more of a fragrance to them however this balances out as it is really nice on my skin. When getting into the bath the water is nice and soft with plenty of rich smooth bubbles, sadly the bubbles don't last as long as some other bubble baths but still a good length of time. Whilst sat in the bath I put a bit of this product on my sponge too and rub myself down. Mixed on the sponge and water it creates a lovely foam that feels extremely soft on my skin, kind of like a velvet blanket being rubbed over my skin. When getting out the bath my skin feels smooth, it doesn't feel tight or irritated but I still do moisturise after anyway. The scent soon as you are dry completely disappears, comes in a 500ml bottle I haven't seen any smaller ones and you have flip top lid you just squeeze out the amount you need and jobs done. Once empty can be recycled so remember to do your bit. Price and Availability: Often found in the pound shop and local chemists, also in some supermarkets around the £1.00 mark, I paid only 90p for mine which is excellent value for money. You can also purchase the shower cream, however they look pretty much the same and even the same lid! I think same product just different labels. Overall: This is a nice bath product, certainly not one of the best I have used the scent fades so fast but my skin does feel nice after use. If on a budge for 90p this is great value for money as it lasts for ages making is just pennies per bath. One I will use again, more so in between my favorite ones so I don't use them up so fast. Four out of five stars from me. Thank you for reading. © Copyright VampirePrincess

My way of gift buying for me

Christmas Gift ideas for Him: Whether we are male, female, dog or cat etc we all have our own unique personalities. So when it comes to gift buying you can always pick a great present if you know the person well. I hate it when I have to purchase a somewhat genetic gift because it is someone I don't know all that well; for example like a partners work colleague. For male friends in my life I think it is nice to try and find something they have an interest in, that way I think it shows you have given your gift some thought. I don't think it is about home much money can you spend at all. As a thoughtful gift if better value than one you just grabbed off the shelf and paid the earth for. Last year I didn't have a clue on what to get my dad, his 56 and well got everything he wants. So as I know he loves his golf and his favourite brands are Ping and Nike I did a hamper containing shirts, jumpers, tees, balls ect As I knew this would be something he would appreciate and certainly use. That is another thing when it comes to buying gifts, knowing what you brought will be used. I just hate waste and to think something will be stuck in the cupboard just upsets me. Some of those novelty gifts I can not stand and you will never use them. One I spotted when looking for golf items was a putting game whilst sitting on the loo. Personally I think that is very unhygienic and unusable. With my brother he likes to look after himself, eats well, works out and always likes to look his best. (the amount of my friends that fancy my brother!!!) So one of his gifts I got was a Merry Hill gift card, you can spend that in any shop in Merry Hill shopping centre so you are not tied to one shop. Some male facial creams and a nice bottle of Brandy which I know he loves. I found it hard to get something for my brother as like me he can be rather picky so the gift card, I found a good option. That way he can go out and purchase an item he likes, which saved me worrying on what to get him really. I do try the less stress approach if possible! The same really when it comes to very picky teenage nephew Sam. He is very style orientated, loves on trend items and well that is something I'm certainly not so clued up in. He loves his aftershaves so he has a gift to open I got him aftershave, a nice body wash set and some brand name boxers. Then again a Merry Hill card. For me yes gift cards can seem somewhat an easy option but this will let the person go and get what they want. Which at the end of the day the gift is for them, whom better to pick it right? I'm not a fan of gift cards where you can just spend it in one place it is too limited. That is why I love the Merry Hill gift card, there is 100's of shops you can spend it in and you don't have to spend it in one place and spread it out over a number of shops. Another friend of mine is dog mad a little like me, he raises a lot of money each for unwanted dogs. So I made a donation to a local dog charity in his name and put the copy in his card. I still got him some gifts but they were silly ones like socks with paws on, a travel mug with paws on you can guess the theme. For that gift he was over the moon and made him really happy, seeing him with a massive smile certainly made me happy too! See gifts can be in a form on anything, it is about matching it to the person where possible. Just being sensible with it, I mean you wouldn't buy alcohol for a recovering alcoholic! So just think before you buy. I say this as I'm really allergic to the alcoholic drink sours, which the person knew and hmm I ended up with it for Christmas off them!! I do love buying gifts but when it comes to me being more stressed out in what I can get them I do turn to a gift card. But in the past few years there are so many sites that can help you when it comes to purchasing a gift. So many unique items out there you will certainly find something of interest. Plus well you can always ask the person what they want, no harm in that at all. Sadly some people think Christmas you have to get massive piles of gifts!! Why are some people like this?? As no I feel it is about the thought, if I am remembered with a card even that makes me happy. So don't go wild stick within your budget because the thoughtful people will not care if the gift doesn't cost millions. They will care because you remembered them. I hope that helps a little guys, this is just how I do things, I try to think about things but keep it simple also and within my means. Merry Christmas Everyone!! Elizabeth xx

                          Super suit for toddlers

A few months back when we had some nice weather my friend was having a fancy dress party for her little boy it was his third birthday and asked me to come with my nephew George. Superman Romper Suit: My Findings: The weather was rather warm and searching for outfits for George was a bit of a nightmare they where all rather padded. That if I dressed up him he would start to cook! George hadn't long gone two at the time and well if I was to try and dress him up in full out outfits there would have been a tantrum. So I went to my friend Google and in the end from Amazon found a Superman romper suit complete with cape. This was perfect, lightweight. No extra bits sticking out here and there. So I ordered it and was here the day before the party. Cutting it fine or what! It had short arms and legs, which while he would be running around in the baby gym was much more suitable for him. Some of the moms loved his little suit, you can also get Supergirl and Batman. It is a lovely light blue colour with the superman logo in the middle; there are press buttons on the legs so ease access to change nappies. What I also liked was the red cape was attached by buttons not Velcro, so it would not be easily ripped off. The material was nice and soft 100% cotton, like a baby grow really and most important George liked it and was comfortable in it. The press buttons were really good easy to pop open but stayed closed as he was running around and playing on the baby gyms. On the back you have the cape and like I said fastens with a button on each shoulder, the cape isn't very long so there is no chance of George tripping over it. As it did get really warm in there it was a perfect little outfit and I'm really pleased I picked it. It did however in counter a few stains from his food, chocolate, cake and some fruit shoot! But it washed lovely and even safe for the tumble dryer. George loved his outfit and even ended up wearing it for bed an on couple of occasions. He will be three in January and has now sadly gross out of his suit. Price and availability: I got the size 18-24 months which I believe it the biggest they did. George is the smaller end of two at the time, he still now is only a little bit. The size was great for him. At the time cost me £8.99 but has gone up a little since then. Costing £11.99. Overall: Really pleased with this little suit, George has loved it and brought his creative play along brilliantly. I fully recommend this cute little suit and George does too. Five out of five stars from me. Thank you for reading. (c) VampirePrincess

Sweet little handy mirror from Boux Avenue

I've done a couple of reviews now from the store Boux Avenue, this has to be one of my favourite places to go visit and shop. You have some stunning underwear, gorgeous nightwear and lovely gifts. Boux Avenue - Heart Compact Mirror: 'In gorgeous fuchsia pink you'll fall in love with this heart-shaped compact. With a double mirror inside and signature Boux Avenue branding to the outside pop this inside your handbag for instances of essential lippy application' - www.bouxavenue.com My Findings: It is always handy to have a mirror in your bag, so much so on a night out and the mirrors in the ladies are rammed! This way you can check yourself out without fighting for the mirrors, watch out though they may ask you if you can lend them your mirror! This is a very handy small compact mirror fits lovely in your bag or make up case. Easy to open you have a normal mirror on one side and a magnified mirror on the other side great for doing eye brows etc. The mirror is bright pink and heart shaped. Mirror is nice and light but also feels rather sturdy within its case, you have a little opening at the front where you can just pop the mirror open with ease. I have dropped this a couple of times and been rather lucky it hasn't cracked on me! I really can not fault this little mirror and it is a nice little gift to add to a girly gift for a friend. You have the Boux Avenue logo on the outer of the case but rather nicely done. Easily fits in your hand while checking your face or make up touch ect. Price and Availability: This little beaut will only cost £3.00 and £1 of that will go to Breast Cancer Care, so very good value in my eyes. Overall: This for me has been a great little purchase and I fully recommend this, great for bags, travels. Small but still a handy size to complete thinks like plucking your eye brows. Five out of five stars from me. Thank you for reading. (c) Copyright VampirePrincess www.bouxavenue.com/heart-compact-mirror-fuchsia/602087-20fc
