A classy arcade Driving Game on the PS3

      THE SUMMARY

Fasten Your Seatbelt! This is a cracking, intense and simple to pick up racing game with a twist. The races are all part of a reality TV Show in this fun PS3 game.

      THE STORY

Split/Second (PS3) racing is an intense arcade style racing game set within the universe of a blockbusting, no expense spared reality TV Show. Contestants race to be the 1st across the line in a made for TV city built for destruction. The ultimate challenge in this game is to complete the whole TV season as overall champion, cementing your place in the record books.

The cityscapes you race through are all rigged with explosives and they are ready to blow. As you race around you control when these explosive are detonated. You control whether bridges fall, buildings are reduced to dust and which of your rival's cars are blown to smithereens.

      THE GAMEPLAY

This is a very simple yet incredibly fun racing game. The controls are standard for anyone used to Playstation 3 racers and if you are not they are easy to pick up and start racing.

Exploding the scenery gives you the option of some magnificent fun and allows you to create your own short cuts. Explosions are controlled by you pressing the appropriate button as its symbol flashes up on the screen. Be careful though your rivals will be out to get you too and they also have the option of creating there own paths to pole position. I thought I wouldn't like this game as I am more a fan of the realistic racing games and Formula One but after initially sitting down for a short game I quickly found three hours had flown by.

      THE GRAPHICS

I was happily surprised by the graphics provided by this game I was expecting the skyline to be blurred and block but it wasn't. The scenery provides an excellent backdrop for the intense racing that will take place. The cars themselves are crisply drawn, animated well and most importantly move realistically.

      THE RATING

I would rate this game as 8/10 I was pleasantly surprised with what it has to offer and it was great fun. In future I will be looking at the games produced by Black Rock Studio in a new light.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

All in all this is a very well put together PSP Driving game. I really liked it.

        THE SUMMARY
Become the don of the street in this funky racing game set in 1976 on the Sony Playstation Portable. Driver 76 (PSP) created by Ubisofts team is a great mission based driving game.

        THE STORY
Cars your character loves everything about them. The story starts on the streets of New York with a little bit of good old of the book street racing but this quickly changes to be just an escape from the cops. Your character is a wheel man born to drive making money wherever he can. You have been in New York 6 months with not much action apart from the odd getaway job. One night in one of New Yorks finest establishments you meet Cenchi a hot Latina woman who dances sexily and you are smitten. Unfortunately Chenci is taken. Not only is Chenci taken but she is taken by a Triad and they are well known for causing big trouble. Helped by your friend Slink a cool pimp liken to Huggy Bear in the Starsky and Hutch show you start undertaking missions to try and make Zhou The Triads Boss happy. If Zhou is happy then he may let you date Chenci.

        THE GAMEPLAY
The game play on this game is great fun if very similar to that of Grand Theft Auto (the player view is almost identical). The majority of the missions are undertaken in the car but you can get out and walk around should you wish for a change.

The missions are all clearly preluded with adequate descriptions so you are aware of what you are doing. Once in the missions the gameplay becomes fairly addictive and no soon have you finished one mission you will want to undertake the next.

Completing the missions to earns you money. You can use this money to spend on vehicle mods (Customised paint jobs, engine upgrades, performance parts and nitros) as well as ammo for any weapons you require.

The one problem I had with the gameplay on this game was that the steering was controlled by the use of the PSP's analogue button. The analogue button I found difficult to use to control my vehicle and I was swerving from one side of the road to the other. This was only a minor problem and after a few missions control of your vehicle becomes second nature.

        THE GRAPHICS
This game looks brilliant. Stylish oranges and browns rule in the screen views helping to enhance that 70's feel this game has in abundance. The main story is told in cut scenes shown in a comic book style but the main game is where the graphic really shine.

The cars look sharp and realistic as they drive around the streets of New York and the cityscapes move realistically as you drive and also serve as a bit of a distraction should you wish to take a break form the driving and just look around.

        THE SOUNDS.
The sounds in this game are in one word "Funky". It is 1976 after all. There are some well known hits played to you as you drive around. Including Low Rider and some from Blondie.

        THE RATING
I rate this game as 8/10 it is great fun driving around completing missions the graphics are extremely good and the storyline flows well. All in all this is a very well put together game. I really liked it.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A good quality fighting game on the Sony PS3

          THE SUMMARY
Fight to win in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Brutal and bloody this is a must for all the UFC fans out there. For those of you who do not know about the UFC this is a very good Play station 3 fighting game.

          THE STORY
So you want to be a fighter? This game tries to show you how! To start with you get to choose from one of selectable fighters and challenge the best in the exhibition mode or the tournament mode. UFC Undisputed: 2010 (PS3) features MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) which means depending upon which fighter you choose you fighting style will differ slightly. This game also boasts that it contains the best fighters in the world (well in the UFC anyway). After one round you will embody the essence and spirit of a real fighter and want to fight on to become the best.

          THE GAMEPLAY
There are many gaming modes in this game from exhibition to Title, Title Defence, Tournament, Ultimate Fights, Career and Event Modes.
There is also the option to create your own fighter. If you struggle with games like this there is also a handy tutorial mode which takes you step by step through the game basics.
New to this version of the game apparently (this is the first of the UFC game I have played) is the community website. This website gives you the opportunity to arrange your very own tournaments, become friends with other UFC players and train with them. You can even talk gameplay then go on to win some prizes in official THQ tournaments. I have not tried this element of the game yet but it is certainly an exciting prospect.
I found the controls for this game are fairly straight forward you can either use the basic punching and kicking techniques, go for an elbow or go for a hold. Grapple with your opponents and attempt to throw them to the ground where you can do more damage.
The fights are fought over a number of rounds and the winner is decided by points or by knockout.
Bruce Buffer introduces all the real UFC fighters and there is a huge selection to choose from all weight categories (light heavy weight etc). All the fighters have their own individual fighting styles and celebrations. My favourite fighter is Quintin Rampage Jackson. The commentators describe the blow by blow action very clearly and enthusiastically for added fun.

          THE GRAPHICS
The graphics are great on this game and very fluid and realistic. You can see every muscle tensing on each of the fighters along with the sweat on their brows. The character movement is also believable as they dance around the ring.
It all looks real and you can imagine yourself being there and taking some of the blows which are offered. When you connect with a punch or kick you can see the blood spurting from your opponent. There are even some action replays of your most potent blows slowed down in black and white for effect. The end of each round is celebrated by a board girl prancing around the ring.
All in all this is a nicely put together game.

          THE RATING
I would rate this game 7/10 it is a high quality fighting game but I suspect the gameplay may loose it's appeal after a while of bashing you opponents head in.
A definite game for UFC Fans. Recommended.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Excellent Action Game on the PSP

            THE SUMMARY
This is one of the best titles available on the Sony PSP. God of War: Chains of Olympus has it all battles, blood, sex, and magic and are all of a superb standard. It is almost in my experience the best looking game ever produced for the PSP.

            THE STORY
You play "Kratos" a General of the Spartan Army who was tormented by demons so pledged to serve the Gods of Olympus. When the Spartan city of Attica is set upon by the Persians you must defend it from the might of the Persian Army and a huge Basilisk, a beast of a creature at least 50 times bigger than Kratos. Once you have fought your way through Attica you have battled you way through some caves on your way to Hades.

            THE GAMEPLAY

Your character "Kratos" has a number of different attacks, light, heavy and grappling attacks using his fiery blades. To make the battles more exciting combinations of the attacks can be performed by pressing buttons in sequence. I found evading the enemy attacks quite hard, the problem, I found it difficult to get used to pressing both the L1 and R1 buttons along with moving the analog stick.

The gameplay in each level is fairly linear although there are a few branches along the way. One feature of the gameplay which I loved is the puzzle element although I feel their could have been more of this you have to manipulate boxes and dead bodies onto buttons or turn wheels to move elevators plus much more.

Once you have defeated the second boss you unlock the use of magic when by beating the first Persian you receive the "efreet". This artefact allows you to damage all nearby enemies when you summon a magical beast to create a ring of fire around you.

Throughout the game you collect items either from breaking barrels opening treasure chests or killing enemies. Red orbs are collected and used to learn new attacks as well as upgrading your weapons and magic. Gorgon Eyes and Phoenix Feathers are collected to allow your overall health and magic meters to be increased.

The gameplay is all free flowing and it is unlikely that you will get stuck on any area for any length of time. On the whole I found this game a little on the short side and unfortunately you are left wanting more GOW action.

            THE GRAPHICS

The Chains of Olympus game is visually outstanding both in the cut scenes and in the actual gameplay. The game continues to impress even when the screen is full of enemies moving around and fighting. The game hardly ever stalls. The one complaint about the look of this game would be that in some scenes when the camera angle draws out your character can appear to be a little small on the PSP screen but this does not last for long.

            THE SOUND
The sound in this game is in one word "fantastic". The characters and the narrator are voiced extremely competently and the soundtrack comes together with the action to create an almighty alliance. It spurs you on to complete the game.

            THE RATING
God of War is an all encompassing console experience of a game. The look, the action and the gameplay combine to create a rip snorter of a game that will have you begging for more.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

World Tour Soccer is a football game that is a lot of fun.

              THE SUMMARY
World Tour Soccer on the Sony PSP is quick to pickup and easy to get into football game that will have you going back for more time and time again.

              THE STORY
World Tour Soccer was originally a ps2 series but it has been adapted to the PSP extremely well. Take part in quick games, exhibition matches, cup competitions, multiplayer matchups, and an excellent challenge mode.

              THE GAMEPLAY
Controlling your players in World Tour Soccer is very intuitive and easy to pick up. You can use either the analog stick or the directional buttons to move. In attack there is a button to do a short pass, one for a through ball, one for a lobbed pass and one to shoot. Holding the L1 whilst pressing any of these buttons will make you do tricks or a deliberate dive action. The R1 button allows you to sprint. In defence there is a button to do a standing tackle and one to do a sliding tackle and that is it.

Playing the games is a lot of fun although I found it quite difficult to score to start off with but I soon got the hang of it and was slotting them in from 30yards. WTS includes most international, club, and special squads which you will get chances to unlock through the game by winning any of the game's tournaments, scoring a hat-trick, achieving a number of consecutive clean sheets plus more. You even get the chance to unlock the classic 1966 World Cup Winning England team.

My favourite feature of this game is the challenge mode. This mode is all about playing the game with style and the only thing which really matters is scoring points. What do points make? Prizes, well, medals bronze, silver, or gold medals to be specific these unlock additional features as well new teams or stadiums. You are awarded points for a completed pass, a perfectly timed tackle, skinning an opponent, taking a shot at the goal or even scoring one from the edge of the box. This mode encourages attractive soccer, mistakes lose you points.

              THE GRAPHICS
This is a very good looking game. World Tour Soccer's player animations have been improved and the action looks great on the PSP's small screen. It is all put together extremely well with fluid football action all the way.

              THE SOUND
The audio on this game is also simple yet effective the commentators just name players names but they seem to get excited at the right times and it is always delivered well. The crowd noises are basic but effective and the soundtrack contains a couple of thumping tracks that will get your foot tapping.

              THE RATING
World Tour Soccer is a game that doesn't disappoint it has fast-action game play and depth. It is a great game and a perfect companion to your PSP.

              7/10

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

                A excellent portable gaming system.

                THE SUMMARY
Sony's PlayStation Portable (PSP) standard edition was the corporation's first attempt to tackle the portable system market offering hi-tech, graphically advanced games and a some multimedia functionality. The PSP is typically offered for sale around £130 although can be found a lot cheaper second-hand and is dependant upon the bundle you choose.
The PSPs main purpose is to play games on the move but in addition to this the PSP can play music, movies and surf the Web with content either downloaded from the internet or via disc.

                THE DESIGN
The Sony PSP is attractive bit of gaming kit and a gorgeously designed device. It looks so good you won't be able to wait to get you grubby little paws on one. Once you have it you will never want to let it go. The unit is black and shiny and weighs in a approximately 176g (including the removable battery pack). The PSP dimensions are 170mm by 74mm by 23 mm. The sculpted body feels solid in your hands, well built and durable possibly able to take a few knocks (although I would not recommend testing this out). The whole thing fits into your hands and pocket perfectly. My one small complaint about the PSP's design is that due to the glossy finish it gets covered in fingerprints. However Sony do give you a small cloth for polishing purposes along with a PSP slipcase to help you keep it in tip top condition.

                THE SCREEN
The PSP's screen is at the hub of its good looks. It is an impressive 109mm (4.3-inch) wide-screen display (480x272 pixels, 16.7 million colours). The picture quality provide by the UMD discs is comparable with most portable DVD players.

                CONTROLLING YOUR SYSTEM
As with the other PlayStation consoles the control system is familiar with a directional keypad is to the left of the screen and the square, triangle, circle, and X buttons to the right. They have also incorporated an analogue 'stick' below the directional keypad and there are also two shoulder buttons R1 and L1 one per shoulder.

                ONSCREEN CONTROL
Sony's call there operating system a 'cross media bar' interface. The directional keypad is used to navigate through Settings, Photo, Music, Video, and Game icons. All in all, it's a simple and elegant way to access the PSP's many features. For those of you with a PS3 this system will look very familiar.

                MEDIA FORMAT/CONNECTION
Sony's proprietary UMD (Universal Media Disc) media are housed in a protective white cartridge. The UMD drive is located on the back of the unit behind the screen you just load your disk and snap it shut. It closes with a satisfying clunk.
The top of the PSP also houses an infrared and a USB 2.0 port. The USB allows you to link the device to your PC. The USB port will also be where any future accessories you may which to add.

                THE SOUND
The sound for this system is provided by means of the tiny speakers either side of the screen. The sound quality is good but in my opinion the maximum volume is not loud enough and the ability to crank it an extra few notches would be a welcome addition. However I would say said that it is adequate for occasionally watching movies and playing games. Volume buttons are provided just below the screen. The PSP also has an inbuilt equalizer with a few preset settings (Heavy, Pops, Jazz, and Unique) to allow you to change the sound slightly. The PSP also has headphone jack with special white PSP head phones and a remote to control the basic playback.

                THE SOFTWARE
Getting media onto a PSP is no hassle at all through the use of the Sony Media Manager software. It is easy to transfer your photos, music and videos from your PC to the PSP. The PSP plays MP3 files which you simply drag into the music folder on your Memory Stick Duo card, and they'll be available on the PSP. Similarly JPEG files can also easily be transferred on to a memory card and viewed using a slide show and like all phones nowadays you can set a photo as your PSP's background wallpaper.

                WIFI
The PSP has built-in Wi-Fi capabilities. Within minutes of getting my PSP I had it linked with both the PS3 and the WEP-encrypted wireless network I have in my house. You can save multiple wireless configurations so no matter where you are you should always be able to get a connection. Once you're connected you can access the Web using the PSP's onboard browser.

                PROCESSOR PERFORMANCE
The PSP has a 333MHz processor and 32MB of memory which run the basic operating system with a further 4MB of embedded DRAM.
Games take about 10 seconds to load up and look spectacular. The PSP provides a PS2-like gaming experience with minor differences in the graphics but the games play smoothly and look good enough for the small screen.

                BATTERY LIFE
The PSP comes with a removable 1,800mAH lithium-ion battery pack on full brightness I have managed a full weeks worth of play an hour a day on the bus into work (approximately 5 hours of gameplay before recharging is required). This is should be more than adequate for even the most hardened gamers needs. If you are worried about your battery dying at the worst possible moment then why not purchase an purchase an additional battery pack. I have also noticed that using the WIFI features decrease the battery length.

                THE RATING
I rate this console as 9/10 it is certainly still one of the best portable gaming devices on the market.

Slightly dissappointing football management game on the PS2

                  THE SUMMARY
Alex Ferguson puts his name on a below standard football playing/management game for the PlayStation 2 with plenty of potential.

                  THE STORY
Alex Ferguson (The greatest manager on the planet although Capello may have that in the bag if England win the World Cup 2010) put his name on the respected Player Manager PC game when it was converted to the PlayStation 2 format. You take control of your favourite teams and attempt to guide them to the top of the league just like the great man has done time and time again at Manchester United? This is a football management game where you have the option to either manage or play as your favourite team.

                  THE GAMEPLAY
This is a game which was originally produced for the PC as Player Manager. The developers have then transferred it to the PlayStation2 with disastrous results.
You start with the option to manage either a Scottish Premiership or English Premiership side. As with most management games this game is set out in a database format. Your players and staff are given stats for their attributes. You have the option to visit the transfer market (to buy players and staff), train your players or play the games. The transfer market is quiet extensive and give you the option to enter negotiations with pretty much any player around in 2001. The option to buy David Beckham in his prime could prove irresistible. David Beckham a Middlesbrough would probably never happen but in this game anything is possible however unrealistic??

Other features include getting hints and tips from the board along with details of the fans opinions. There is also a league table for your managerial reputation which is a nice little feature but not enough to rescue this game. There are so many management gaming competitors out there that this game doesn't even feature in my top ten. In my opinion the Football Manager Series rules supremely in this genre.

The other game play option is to be a player but here this game is not a patch on its competitors either. I would recommend FIFA or PES every time.

                  THE GRAPHICS
Whilst watching the game does seem like it might be a good option in practice the game time looks incredibly dated. Once you enter a game the play is slow and laboured to watch, the players are slow moving and incredibly unrealistically. The other game option is to have a scanner board this option is better than seeing the players but also has its problems in that it is very quick for you to read.

                  THE SOUND
The developers of this game shouldn't have bothered with music as what they have produced is bad enough to make your ears bleed (maybe that is a bit harsh but the sounds produced in my opinion are not great). On the other hand this is a management game and therefore it doesn't really require music.

                  THE RATING
If Alex Ferguson (One of the greatest managers the world has ever seen) puts his name forward for a computer game you would have thought it would be a good one.

It looks like a PC Conversion game which has plenty of potential but this version just doesn't deliver. Slightly Disappointing.

                  3/10

                  RECOMMENDATIONS:
If you are looking for a football management game then I would look no further than the Football Manager series before even bothering with this game. If you like games where you can play football check out the FIFA or (Pro Evolution Soccer) PES series. (recommendations as of May 2010 opinions may change with time).

                    Disadvantages

                    Classic Western Game. Beyond Compare.

                    THE SUMMARY
The team that brought you GTA (Grand Theft Auto) now turn their attentions to the Wild, Wild West. Open world gaming at its very best.
                    THE STORY
America, early 1900's the days of the cowboy are almost over. Fearing his family's safety John Marston is sent by the Federal Authorities on a mission to bring law and order to new lands.
Red Dead Redemption is an epic game of survival in the most beautiful scenic world created on the PS3. In the days when the Old West was being phased out and the burgeoning New America of the early 20th Century is on the horizon. You play John Marston struggling to bury the daemons and the bloodshed of his previous life.
You track down old acquaintances that you used to run with and settle old scores.
                    THE CHARACTERS
This like all Rockstar games has a huge variety of well thought out characters that you will run into both in the process of completing the game and also through exploring in your own time. John Marston is a deep and layered character born out of the Old West and the scars on his face prove it.
Similarly to the GTA Series there is the usual group of villains, friends and crazies, fuelled by the writing of the Rockstar Team and their unique brand of comedy and drama.
                    THE GAMEPLAY
The story in this game keeps you going beyond 20 hours for a single playthrough. You experience intense gun battles, dramatic train robberies, bounty hunting and duels.
There is a huge variety in mission objectives with mainly an emphasis on shooting but also there is breaking in horses missions, herding cows and clearing crows from your crops.
One of the best features of the game play is the Dead Eye system this temporarily slows down time. This slower period allows you to target your enemies before you kill them all in flash of gunfire.
How you responds to situations you encounter in your gameplay/travels effect your in game stats. Good deeds lead to legendary status throughout the West and Bad Deeds lead to a degree of infamy and possibly even a spell behind bars.
The wanted system in Red Dead Redemption is in the form of bounty on your head. You can either pay it off in cash or served your time in prison. As well as the law you will find posses will hunt you down.
                    THE GRAPHICS
Wow! The scenery is the real star of this game although the player and other characters animation are of a high standard. My favourite parts would have to be the horses they are magnificent beasts.
The scenes from the edge of Plainview where you can see the mirage shimmering off the burnt yellow lands to the blue skies above New Austin are awe inspiring and you can take it all in at your own pace.
My one complaint would be there is some bugs in the facial animation and sometimes it looks like a lip synced movie but the animation is so good in other areas that after a while you hardly even notice this.
                    THE RATING
9/10 WOW! What a game! This game is a reinvention of the GTA Liberty City game but in my opinion the Rockstar style of game play suits the Wild West better than the inner city. It will keep you entertained for hours.

a great website to start you on the world wide web.

                      SUMMARY
Have you ever thought of starting up your own website.??? Webs.com is a website which provides its users with the option of creating their own website absolutely free. I have set up two websites using this site and being a bit of a computer novice I have found this website designer service straightforward and easy to use.

                      THE LOOK OF THE SITE
The site itself looks good and professional and gives you an idea of what you could possibly create. Clean and crisp with lots of white all very stylish and providing a classy look.

                      SITE NAVIGATION
Navigation on this site is relatively straight forward although there have been a few times in the past months where I have struggled to locate certain applications. The problems I have had seem to stem from certain buttons only being visible when you are on the correct sub page of the site. This is no major problem as you soon get used to the Webs system. If you have any problems finding an application the support centre link can be seen all pages and they are usually quick to respond.

HOW DO YOU GET STARTED ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB
First thing first you need to register. This is a simple process which involve filling in your basic information into a form which generates an email which is sent to your specified email address.

You have to choose a domain name at this point and this will be in the form of http://www.yourname.webs.com/. You are asked to confirm this email address to verify your account and then you are good to go.

                      SITE BUILDER TOOL
Once you have confirmed your email you can visit the Site Builder Tool on the Website and choose a template. This can subsequently be changed at any time you feel it necessary or just when you have a change of artistic opinion. The range of templates is limited at the beginning although there is still a good selection. More templates are available if you choose to go for the paid for services. After you have chosen your template you can personalise it by making alterations such as changing the colour, the background, the fonts, the positioning of the headers and footers, the logos etc.

When you first set up your site you will be asked what type of site it is (blog, ecommerce etc) Your choice here will generate a number of pages typically contained on a website of this type. But don't worry these can be altered, with pages added and deleted later. Typical pages which can be added include member pages, galleries, contact us pages, blogs, forums, and just regular pages where you create the content (e.g. About Us, Introduction).

When you create your site it will automatically be given a navigation bar. This is either shown down the side or along the bottom of the header dependant on your template choice. This will originally show every page you create but later you get to choose which the pages are shown in this bar.

Other editing options are to add a side bar which can be used to display whatever information you want. Your latest blog entries, Membership signups, latest items on sale.

                      UPLOADING CONTENT
Once you have basic bones of your site you can start to upload content. This again is a very simple process. The Upload system is a lot like that on eBay (for those of you have used eBay) and once you have uploaded a picture. Once you have uploaded a picture it is stored on your site and it can be accessed easily whenever you require it. To each photo you can assign a title and a caption.

                      OTHER FEATURES
The WEBS.COM system allows you to add application pages. The option of these can be seen from the application store. You can upload videos, add You Tube video links. Create your very own blog, discussion forums, shop.

If you upload photographs there is a tool which allows some basic editing of these i.e. cropping, resize and rotating etc.

The site is in partnership with Clicky a tool which allows you to monitor your visitors statistics This allows you to assess where visitors have come from by providing geographical info as well as how they found your site.

There is a tool which allows you to set up your own online store and links with Paypal and Google check out for easy payments. The main reason I set up my first site was to sell second hand games I had as a kid. This E-Store tool was therefore incredibly useful to me.

There is the opportunity to add a link page collecting all your links from throughout your website and providing them to you site viewers

Arcade games can also be added to your side at no extra charge.

                      ADVANCED PAID FOR FEATURES
When you start you will automatically have the free basic package which contains the Webs advertising as standard. In order to unlock additional features you are required to change from the free version of this and subscribe to another package.

The paid options remove the advertising and offer increased bandwidth, a domain name, email addresses and the ability to sell from your site. There are 3 levels of premium site, at US$49.95, $99.95 and $249.95 per year.

                      USABILITY
When I first looked to set up a website I looked at the numerous packages available and then struggle to use them. The Webs site made everything a lot easier and set it all out in laymen's terms so I could understand them. I now have two websites one which sell second-hand games and one which discusses ways to make money on the internet.

If you want to set up a website and know very little about HTML this is the site for you. It is all layed out in step by step terms. You will have a site up and running in a matter of minutes.

                      CONCLUSION
Create a site with your own individual style and make your mark on the world wide web.

The basic version is free and the sites are easy to set up with advice all the way through the process. If you a prepared to pay a little for your business website you will get a domain an email address and no webs advertising banners. Take the plunge today and start your own website.

                        Disadvantages

                        Good Cashback Website

                        SUMMARY
Greasypalm is a Cashback website which allows you to make money on your online purchases along with numerous other offers.

                        WHAT IS IT
The main purpose of this website as far as I can see is to get further reductions from online shops when you use it. This is a good way to get some great bargains. It even gives you the opportunity to get a paid to click income and also the opportunity to gain some income from numerous other cashback for sign-up offers.

                        OPENING AN ACCOUNT
To apply for the offers available first you need to register with the site. This is a simple matter of inputting your details, name, address, login id etc. Upon joining you get an initial £2.50 to help you get a boost to your savings and to give you a bit of a head start on your road to making it to the magical £25 (the pay out value).

                        EMAILS
You will receive regular emails informing you of the latest money off offers. This can be quite useful to highlight current offers which you may not have noticed on the actual website. These emails do come a little too regularly and are a bit of a pain after a while. The offers in the emails tend to focus on the ones for gambling sites and energy companies. You do of course have the option of ignoring any offers you do not have an interested in.

                        THE MONEY
There are multiple ways of making money with this website. Along with getting the cashback on online purchases I found that the best way was to sign up to gambling sites (Over 18's only). These sites would usually offer you a £20 cashback when you signed up with £10. You could then have a little flutter knowing that if you lost your money on the gambling site you still had doubled your money with the cashback. These gambling sites would often double the sign up value aswell giving you a slightly better chance of winning big. Other cash back activities included surveys and competitions. You can even get extra bonus payments of £7 for each friend you recommend.

                        THE PAYMENTS
I am usually very wary about giving my account details to sites like this but I did on this occasion and I did not regret it. If you have made over £25 that month you are included in the payment roll and on the next payday the funds will be transferred directly into your account. In the first month of using this account I made about £250 which is not enough to live off but it is a little extra spending money in your pocket.

                        DISADVANTAGES
I found that with some of the deals I had undertaken the money took a little while to appear in my account so I had to contact the help desk. This help system is a little complicated and it took a while for my account to be corrected but although they were a little slow to react they eventually sorted the problem account.

                        CONCLUSION
Finding this website opened a whole new world of shopping to me. Now if I need to buy something online instead of buying it straight from the website I now visit a cashback site. Going through these websites can offer you significant savings. Greasy palm is linked to many online shops just log on to the website you want and make the purchase as usual this will generate cash back for you. When you get £25 or more in your Greasy Palm it is paid directly into your account.

                          Disadvantages

A good solid review site. Not quite as good as dooyoo.co.uk

                          THE SUMMARY
Ciao is a good reliable website which rewards you financially for creating its content. You write reviews, post them and are rewarded for this.

                          WHAT IS IT
Ciao is a consumer based review website where you can write and upload your own individual product reviews, sharing your experiences with potential buyers. If you sign up you will join a vibrant "if opinionated" community and have access to forums to discuss almost anything. To make this a even better you get the chance to make some money whilst you go about it. There is the potential to make around £3 per review you write.

                          THE WORKINGS
Firstly you post your review to the websites and then you wait for people to rate it.

During the time when you're awaiting your review being read and rated you have the opportunity to read and rate the other user's reviews.

Each Review which has been created in Ciao can be rated at one of six levels:
                          1) Exceptional: The best of the best of the reviewing glitterati
                          2) Very useful: A very good review that would guide you to make a purchase.
                          3) Useful: A good encompassing review
                          4) Somewhat helpful: A review that has some good opinions but doesn't give you the whole picture.
                          5) Not Helpful: A review which wouldn't help guide you to make a purchase.
                          6) Off Topic: A review which is no help to man or beast.

One thing I do not like about Ciao is that it has a system which lets other users know how active you have been. This comes in the form of a coloured dot next to your name. For every action you perform you achieve community points. The more active your are the more points you get and the colour of your dot will change as you move up the levels. Many users in my opinion use this as a way of choosing whose reviews to rate as the people who are more active are more likely to return rates. I would recommend taking your time and build up a reputation then start reaping the rewards. As you start up you will initially find it harder to get those higher ratings on your review. This becomes easier over time and soon it will become old hat.

NB: Many users publish their reviews on more than one site and as long as this is clearly shown the website wizards do not seem to have a problem.

INPUTING YOUR REVIEW & FINDING YOUR WAY AROUND
The website looks a little daunting when you first start and in my opinion it could be a lot better set out. In order to input a review you first click on the write a review link. You then search for your product. The website search engine is rather slow and on a number of occasions I have struggled to find items which I have wanted to write review about. The search engine seems to want to search for every letter you input individually (it doesn't wait until you have completed the item you are searching for). If you can't find the product you are looking for I would recommend to keep looking as it will, most probably, be there in the catalogue somewhere.

Once you get to the review you input a title and then in a separate box you input the main body of your report. You can then separate out both the advantages and disadvantages of the product and input these in separate boxes. Overall the input of review is quite a simple process and once it has been submitted your results will show on you My Ciao page.
Like all these websites the more you use it the more you get used to the format and the quicker you become at all the processes.

                          THE MONEY
Apart from the enjoyment you can get from just reading reviews and watching people rate your reviews what most people are really after is the money. Ciao does not reward you with money for each review you write. Instead it looks at how many readings your reviews have had and the number of 'exceptional, 'very useful' and 'useful' ratings you have received and then they use this to establish your share of money at the end of this month. For each rate you receive you will get either 0.5p per rating, 1p per rating or 2p (Ciao decides which rating is to be used). For some reviews, you will not be paid anything for ratings. This seems a little unfair to me. If you are first to write a review about a product you will be paid twice as much for the positive ratings your review receives as the rate indicated by the pound signs next to the product name.

For reviewers who produce extremely high-quality reviews Ciao offers extra financial rewards and every month £2000 bonus is divided out between the best authors.

You can receive payment once your account has reached a minimum balance of £5. This can be paid directly into your bank account. All you have to do is log in and visit you My Ciao page. There you click on the "Account" tab and finally click on "Request payment". Pay-outs are made once a month therefore, it may take up to five weeks for the payment to be transferred into your bank.

                          CONCLUSION
Ciao is a good honest website which offers you solid rewards if you are patient and keep the faith with it. If I owned this website I would be looking to improving the website navigation but this is just a minor complaint and the website still has a lot of positives.

                            THE SUMMARY
This games tag line is "Free Your Inner Sinner" and free it it does in a glorious endorsement of gang warfare. This is a fantastically fun Grand Theft Auto style game for the PS3. I loved it.

                            THE STORY
As a former member of the Saints gang you wake up at the start of the game in a prison after an explosion on your last job. Little do you know but you have been in a deep coma for years and in this time the world has changed. The Saints have disbanded due to the lack of your leadership and have now been replaced by a load of new gangs in town. Its time to take the town back and gain the respect you deserve.

                            THE GAMEPLAY
If you have ever played Grand Theft Auto you will be forgiven to seeing a great deal of similarities with this game. There is a handy tutorial mission at the beginning when you can familiarise yourself with the controls. The controls are well designed and very intuitive. You also get the opportunity to customise your own character making them a man or woman of varying physiques with corn rows or nerdy haircut.

The actual game is all about demanding the respect you deserve. In order to undertake the main story adventures you are required to gain enough respect on your respect bar. You can gain respect by performing tricks in your car or by taking out a few gang members or cops. The main story is all about putting the Saints gang back together ,breaking you wingman out of jail and beginning to build your very own gang empire. You aim to crush your opposition as you battle for control of the streets. To help you along the way you have and huge and exciting selection of guns and launchers

I loved this game it is just like the GTA games. The story and feel of the game will suck you into the on screen world and before you know it hours will have past.

                            THE GRAPHICS
The graphics on this game are amazing. The movement of the characters is extremely realistic although some of the characters do seem to fly up in the air a little when they are shot. It is all shot in a very cool style with some lovely cut scenes which add to the storyline. It is a game which looks very good and a lot of time has obviously gone into its development.

                            THE SOUNDS
The sounds on this game a cool from the moment it has loaded it will get you pumped and ready for action it is a great feeling. As with the GTA series as you travel around town in your car you get the choice of some quality radio stations. I love this feature and could spend some of my time playing this game just listening to the music. The music seems to focus on the Rap, Hip Hop and Pop genres.

                            THE RATING
I would rate this game 8/10 it is fun it is exciting there are lots of guns although it does glamorize gang warfare life style.

                              Advantages

                              Disadvantages

A good fun IQ lesson with tests.

                              THE SUMMARY
In these days of amazing interest in brain training activities the Wii has entered the arena with The Big Brain Academy. Test yourself with a series of IQ test style questions.

                              THE STORY
It is just like being back a school. Go back to class and test you mental agility in this brain training game for the Nintendo Wii. Train or test yourself on a series of IQ style tests. It is big fun, for big brains and big groups.

                              THE GAMEPLAY
Undertake tests using the Wii controller pointing to the correct answer and selecting it using the A button, nothing could be simpler. There are five categories in this game and the more correct answers you get the higher you score. Test yourself every day and watch how you improve. The 5 brain bending categories are named Identify, Memorise, Analyse, Compute and Visualise. These categories are all self explanatory.

You can also test your mental agility to see how you compare against your friends and family. Use the Mii character you have previously created. Don you school uniform and head on back to the classroom.

This is a good fun simple to use game which is good for general arithmetics and ability to do IQ tests and it will entertain you.

                              THE GRAPHICS
This is all done in the Wii's own cartoon like style. The graphics are simple but clear enough to be able to undertake the tests clearly and quickly. There is a certain element of fun as with all the Wii games.

                              THE RATING
This is a short review as there is not that much I can say about the Brain Academy Games other than:

If you like to test yourself this is a new and fun way to be able to do that. If you do not like a challenge then maybe give this game a miss.

I rate is 5/10 as it could go either way dependent upon who you are.

                                THE SUMMARY
This is in my opinion one of the best and scariest games I have ever bought for the Nintendo Wii. It is intelligent dark, fun and incredibly addictive. I have played this game on the PS2 before but the Wii version takes it all to another level.

                                THE STORY
The umbrella corporation is back. You play the role of Leon S Kennedy a secret agent In charge of rescuing the presidents kidnapped daughter. His search takes him to an eery village and soon you are drawn deep into the story of intregue and mystery and all along the way you are being attacked by Zombies, Cultists and Giant End Of Level Bosses.

                                THE GAMEPLAY
This is what the Wii was made for. The gameplay is fairly linear although you can explore the environments (abandoned barns and spooky churches) a little. The thing which sets apart this game from any others that i have played on the Nintendo Wii is that the controls just seem to make sense. The controller is used as a the gun and the nuchuck offers you means to move around. The game is far from being a simple first person shooter though there are interesting puzzles to solve all the way through.

                                THE GRAPHICS
This is probably one of the best Wii games available. The graphics make you feel like you are actually in the village the blood and gore once you begin to fill your foes full of lead is brilliant. There are also some pretty impressive cut scenes which will have you gasping in horror and anticipation. One word brilliant. The graphics are so good you will want to play again and again.

                                THE SOUNDS
Part of what creates the spooky atmosphere in this game are the sound the haunting music is supported by some quality special effects. Cultist chanting and zombies groaning it is enough to have the hairs on the back of your neck standing up.

                                THE RATING
I will rate this game 9/10 It is what the Wii was made for if you have one I highly recommend buying this game.

                                  Disadvantages

A good fun Wii game that is probably for the younger kid

                                  THE SUMMARY
This is a game with style Sonic and Mario combine for this game based around the Olympic Games. Complete in your very own Olympics. It's all good fun.

                                  THE STORY
All your favourite characters from the Sonic and Mario series come together to compete in the summer Olympic Games. Choose your character then compete in a variety of events competing for that elusive gold medal.

                                  THE GAMEPLAY

There is a huge selection of events to undertake in this game. You can either play them with the Wii Controller on its own or with the Wii Nunchuk as well. Most events involve a repetitive motion either moving the controller forward and back or side to side. Usually the faster and smoother you perform this action the faster your on screen character will go. The controls are simple and easy to pick up for Kids of all ages.

Some of the events which can be played are listed below.
Fencing, Archery, Shooting, Trampoline, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Hammer Throwing, Javelin, Swimming, Hurdles, Sprints and many more.

The problem I had with this game is that the events themselves are great fun they are just too short and combine that with the fact it takes you an age to get from one event to another and you find yourself getting frustrated.

                                  THE GRAPHICS
The graphics on this game are crisp and clean. The bright colours of the characters and backgrounds will be a pleasure to look at. Again with all the Mario and Sonic there is nothing stand out or ground it is just the same old theme. Maybe, dare I say it? It could be time to retire the Mario and Sonic characters and go for something new.

                                  THE RATING
I would rate this game 6/10 this would have been much, much higher had there not been so much faffing around in between the events.
