The book Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki is about Robert's early childhood and what he learns of one perspective of making money and another's perspective. One perspective says to go to school and invest in education only and you will be rewarded. This was of the Poor Dad's. The other says to invest on businesses and money and to be money smart. This was Rich Dad's. Overall, the book is a great book to read as a beginner getting into making investing choices. The book will not necessarily shoe you step by step what to do but it is a good motivator. Think of it as an introductory book with a lot of stories as to how Robert found out how to invest but not directly how to invest. Robert kiyosaki has many more books which go further in depth that can be read after this. Those that are experienced with investing should try Robert's later books. The book is divided into 10 chapters: 1. Rich Dad, Poor Dad 2. The Rich Don't Work for Money 3. Why Teach Financial Literacy 4. Mind Your Own Business 5. The History of Taxes and the Powers of Corporations 6. The Rich Invent Money 7. Work to Learn, Don't Work for Money 8. Overcoming Obstacles 9. Getting Started 10. Still Want More? Here Are Some To-Do's About the Author: Robert Toru Kiyosaki was on born on April 8th, 1947 in Hawaii. This where is he learned from both his "Rich Dad" and "Poor Dad".
Lloyds Pharmacy Ionising Air Purifier is a great machine available from Lloyds Pharmacy for relatively cheap price. The ~1 foot tall machine works well against allergens such as dirt and dust, pollen, pet hair, smoke, etc. I recently bought the machine to control my allergies and from what I can see, it seems to be working fairly well. The air purifier is light and easy to carry and move around. I can take it from one room to the other, some days I usually just leave it running on. It is a simple plug-in and there is very little sound that comes from it, so surprisingly it was not too loud like previous ones I have had. I also believe the air purifier does have to be routinely cleaned, especially when it is first used. My Own Ratings: Cleaning Affect: 4/5 Easy To Use: 5/5 Cost/Benefit: 4/5 Sound: 3/5 Overall, I would suggest buying this air purifier if you are looking for a cheap way to combat all the dust and allergens that get annoying especially for people with allergies. Those who do not have allergies should also get this to just have safer, healthier air.
I recently bought the Magic Bullet Blender as my other methods (traditional knife) took too long. The Bullet also attracted me by its continuous commercials on the television and from previous hype. The price was reasonable for a blender combo coming with it a few containers to switch from. Anyway, I am separating this review with pros and cons as their is not much to say for this blender. Pros: The blender works decently well for certain things such as for softer items. It definitely took less than 10 seconds to blend down to what I wanted and saved a great deal of time when cooking. It is relatively simple to use - just a simple plug-in, put what you want in the blender and screw it in and press the top for just a few seconds (not supposed to press it for long periods of time) and it should "magically" do the work. And well it did do the work so I am grateful for that. Cons: The blender although definitely saves time and cuts well for certain things, does not cut well for others. I actually thought that the blender was broken when I put spinach and some almonds in it to make pesto and it would not cut! I do not know if it was because the spinach was semi-wet but I ended up having to get out another blender in order to do it. The blender also did not stand out from other blenders other than the fact you just had to press the top for a few seconds rather than hold. Overall, I do not think I would suggest the blender as it did not stand out from any other blenders you could get for cheaper. The containers you did receive with it could justify the price.
Toyota Corollas are a brand I trust. Why? I have a Toyota Corolla from 1994 and it is still jugging along! With over 200,000 miles and only minor fixes to it, it still runs. Albeit, not as great as it used to but definitely a money saver for the more now expensive cars! Its a bit retro but still a wonder! The car has automatic locks and automatic windows. However it still working only with a tape deck but oh I love the tape deck I have that connects my iPod to the audio! Easy that, cds are now becoming a thing of the past as well, the tape deck does everything I need! My car has 200,000+ miles! For that long, it has been the usual oil change and tire change. Only a few minor setbacks along the time such as the conveyer belt at one point ripping. Other than that, it has definitely been a wonder as to how its been continually running! This may have been the reason why I got another Toyota! Anyway, the review was short but I just wanted to let people know that toyotas can run for a while if taken care of. Enjoy!
For those that do not know, paypal.com is a way to transfer money online from other paypal accounts, or through bank accounts. I recently created a paypal account so I could receive money from a few sites that only payed in paypal and was delighted to see that it was exactly like regular cash. However I started researching on other methods and although paypal might be most popular, there are other ways out there. First the pros and cons of paypal: Pros: Using paypal is definitely an easy method. Transferring money is as simple as directing which paypal account you would like to send to as email accounts are the login names. Then there are options to choose from such as sending the money as a gift or for charging someone. What is nice initially is that you do not need to have a bank account or anything to have a paypal account. However there are limitations until you do get verified with a bank account. Another plus was I could use paypal to go shopping online since many places have options to buy using paypal or I could try certain sites that sell gift cards for paypal money (watch for future reviews if I can for these great sites). Cons: There are huge limitations on paypal if you are looking to transfer money in larger quantities. The only way to lift these limitations is by verifying with a bank account which can be scary for some and is definitely for me! Not only that, but there are also fees associated with transferring online. It is not always free as cash is. The security so far seems to be protective but I have also heard stories of hacking (however regular bank accounts get hacked too). Other Methods? I searched online to find other sites that do exactly like paypal but even easier! I found a site called Alertpay that is definitely easier to verify having only needing a phone number and one other verification method such as a check number. Another I was looking into was Western Union which directly can even send money to THOUSANDS of locations in grocery shops and etc. that give you direct cash! Overall, I would suggest getting a paypal for small transactions but make sure you have the ability to spend the money whether by attaching it to a bank account or the sites that you can spend paypal money on.
The Belkin Protective Overlays for the iPod Video is a useful tool for keeping your front screen from scratching up or even broken in some cases. The back is also kept safe from scratches as believe it or not, many times the back can end up being highly scratched as mine was previous to getting the protective overlay. I have broken this review down to pros and cons considering this simple device: Pros: The protective overlay does exactly what it is called. It protects your iPod Video from scratches that often quite frequently if you bring your iPod Video everywhere you go. The protective overlay is very easy to put on, just a simple stick and can be taken off whenever. The nice thing about this protective overlay is that it does not add any extra weight to an already heavy iPod Video but still protects your iPod like other bigger, bulkier covers. It is also a cheaper alternative to the other covers. The protective overlay can also be bought for the Nano and other types of iPods I believe. Cons: Although it is a great alternative for protection, it still is not as protective as other covers such as the pouches or leather ones. The sticker can also take a few times to put on before getting it perfectly centered. If you are looking for an alternative to the bulkier cases, I highly suggest the Belkin Protection Overlay. You can get it for any type of iPods and it is a useful tool to have to keep your iPods save.
Mozilla Firefox has been recently at the forefront of browsers surpassing its rough competitors such as the famous internet explorer and safari. It is quickly becoming the number one browser for everyone. Currently Firefox 4.0 is in beta while 3.6 is out for everyone to enjoy. So why switch to firefox? Customization: I think of Mozilla Firefox similar to Apple's products where the customization is so great, it feels like each person has their own personal style. With Mozilla firefox, there are thousands of customizable skins, and styles for personal likes and dislikes. Not only that, but also the amount of add-ons, extensions, plugins and toolbars you can add that makes browsing more than just browsing. To me it feels like Apple's APP Store where you can view thousands of things to add to customize your own product. I currently use AdBlock Plus, Swagbucks toolbar, flagfox, ghostery, and more! Speed: The speed is definitely one of the selling points. Although Google's Chrome to me seems a bit faster, it does not seem a huge significant difference. With the customization I can do with my Mozilla Firefox, the very slight difference in speed does not mean much. I have yet to test the speed difference between the new Internet Explorer versions but I know that Mozilla Firefox will compete! Easy Use and Install: The installation and start-up use is very easy for newcomers. It is very similar to any other browsers with tabs, search bars, etc. What is even nicer is the easy way to delete cookies, history, etc. as well as other privacy measures to know you are secured when browsing. Overall, I would highly recommend Mozilla Firefox as your browser of choice. It will be mine for a while!
The Hewlett Packard Extended Life Battery is a grand tool for making your laptop run longer for those times when it is hard to recharge using a power cord. I recently bought this more because my original HP laptop was not running with enough battery as it used to. However I am not reviewing the laptop but the battery and found that the battery is definitely useful. The extended life battery does exactly what the name implies, it extends the battery life your laptop. Some say (as the description above) says it can give up to six hours. Mine was initially around that with a good six to seven hours if I had charged it previously giving my laptop a HUGE amount of time without having to charge it through a plug. The power of the battery seems to be going down a bit since I have been using it a lot however it still very high and effective. On the go and cannot charge? Definitely consider this extended life battery as it will help in emergencies! It is as simple as plugging it in towards the back. The big drawback is that the price is kind of steep. Nowadays, some laptops are getting cheaper and buying this for the purpose that your laptop is old may not be a good reason. If you have a newer laptop and want MUCH more battery life than you currently have for certain reasons that definitely check this out. However, try upgrading your laptop instead of buying an extended life battery if your current battery does not work as well.
The logitech wireless mouse M195 is the latest of the logitech wireless mouses in it's product line. I recently bought this for my laptop. Initially I was a bit nervous if it would even work with my Macbook Pro but found that it successfully runs without having to install anything as well. The feel of the mouse is nothing to spectacular but it is not bad and worth it. Although at times it is kind of small. Initially the mouse ran great and was very quick however sometimes it goes a little slow for example when playing video games however not noticiable as much. The price was definitely worth it since it costed about 12-15 Euros from where I bought it from. The price may go lower since I bought it over a month ago however. Overall, I would suggest getting this mouse for those needing a wireless mouse that doesn't cost too much. It is a simple USB drive.
The Apple Macbook Pro is a MUST buy! The functionality, speed, customization, etc. are all very easy to use and manage and is great for all ranges. Who would I recommend it to? Anyone that wants a laptop! the Apple Macbook Pro is light and easy to use so that anyone can figure out what they want and do it! And each Macbook Pro is highly customizable so your laptop will feel very special to you! I can shuffle through windows, spaces, exposes, so easily that going from one application to another is done in no time and without any loading! The applications are for all ranges to coming with things like iPhoto and Garageband that help out productivity leaving you more time to do other activities. Many college students and high school students are getting the Macbook Pro as well because it helps with timing and efficiency especially with the demand of schoolwork. The price is justifiable because of the longevity of the product. I know someone who has there Macbook for 6 years!
Call of Duty: Black Ops for the xbox 360 is a magnificent game! Recently coming out a few months ago, millions of people are currently playing all around the world! I used to be strictly a Halo fan until I played this game. I have broken this review down into a few elements: Controls: The controls are very easy to use with the xbox 360 controller. I am not sure how it works with ps3 but for the xbox 360, it is very easy to get into. It is similar to Halo with shooting but the scope and crouching/jumping are different but overall still manageable. Game Modes: There are TONS of game modes to choose from ranging from deathmatch, territories, capture the flag, etc. Each game mode has specific things you must do giving you points that you can level up with. I prefer team deathmatch as guests on your xbox 360 can also play! Something new from previous Call of Duty's. Population and Easy of Access: It is very easy to pick up and start playing! Games are very quick to find as the population is massive! There will be games for whatever mode you choose. Overall: The game is a shooter so for those love action shooters, this is a must! You can also play zombies in this as well.
Black Hawk Down is a must see movie! It is spectacular and thrilling movie that deals with a real-life issue. Some of the problems that still go on! Summary: Black Hawk Down is about U.N. and U.S. soldiers trying to capture certain targets in Somalia that are disrupting the aid that is being given to the people. At the time, Somalia was having a civil war and in the midst of it, U.N. and U.S. soldiers had to do their part of giving aid. Originally planned to be a 30 minute mission, ends up becoming a days worth of action and fighting as the militia turns out to be heavily supplied with weapons to take down black hawks and the soldiers. Leave no man behind is the theme to this fast-paced adventure. I highly suggest watching this movie! The movie came out in 2001 and yet still beats out current movies in terms of special effects and overall quality. Definitely watch on Blu-ray for higher quality!
The Microsoft Messenger for Mac 7.0.2 is the latest in messengers for the Mac for those who use Windows Live or use Hotmail. I downloaded this recently to give it a try to see if it was actually compatible with the Mac I use and found it to be a nice fit. The Messenger looks pretty similar to the original one used on Windows. It wasn't too great however but for those that normally chat using Windows Live or Hotmail account should definitely get this. Since I only use it very sparingly, I just decided to chat from the messenger available when logging into your email. The use of it is although very nice, quick and easy login and is always very quick compared to other messengers. The download also did not take too long and it does not take up much space so you can leave it running if you wanted it to.
I recently bought the new Apple iPod Touch (4G). I previously had the older versions which I thought were useful too but this new iTouch feels more like the iPhone. I have broken the down into a few categories: Customization and Applications: The new iTouch is pretty similar to the older versions as you can download new applications from the APP Store and move them around to where you want them. Going through the APP Store is exciting and I found myself on the APP Store for hours finding random new apps to download. There is APPs for so many things from exercise to productivity to games, etc. Price: The price I find is worth it as I feel I will be using this for a while. It is just like any other mp3 player where you can put tons of music (especially with a 32GB) as well as movies, apps, etc. Plus access to the Apple APP Store helps in many ways. You can also get on the internet, get on facebook, check emails, even text if you download certain apps, etc. New Features: One new feature which I thought was nice was the camera. Definitely a new style for the iTouchs and worthwhile. Overall, the product is very well done and useful. I plan on using this new iTouch a lot!
