I joined slicethepie.com almost a year ago, and honestly I have never really become gripped with the site. I'm a student and found myself a bit short of money and found a suggestion that this site could be a good way to earn a little bit extra so I signed up. Upon signing up I went through and selected genres of music that I am interested in. I'm not completely sure the use of this, at first I thought it was so they could tailor the types of music I was reviewing to my tastes but after a while on the site I found I was getting all different types of music so this isn't always the case. The rewards on this site are very low, I never expected to earn hundreds of pounds from this site but the most I have earnt from one review is 15 cents. Although I am sure someone with musical knowledge who has a lot to say could get higher amounts, although not significantly higher. These low rewards are slightly offset by the low cashing out balance, this being $10. The site does run in American currency, however when you cash out your paypal will convert your money into pounds for you. It is handy to remember that $10 isn't equal to £10 though, I find it is quite easy to forget that whilst on the site and convinces you that you are earning more than you actually are. Currently for $10 you will get around £6.20, although this will vary on the conversion rate and I'm sure paypal offers a worse rate so they can earn some form of commission when converting the money. Whilst the low amount you are paid is a bit disheartening at times, you can't really complain about being able to earn money whilst being sat on the couch or in bed listening to music. I do find I get bored quite easily on the website but can normally sit for a little while and earn about a dollar without much effort. I've seen websites that recommend it is a better website if you are on there to review the music, not purely to make extra money. Whilst I do agree with this because you probably will earn a lot more money, I don't think this is a necessity but you may be likely to get bored whilst on it. I have also seen some reviews on other websites that haven't mentioned some problems with accounts being suspended or people not receiving there money in a timely matter once they have cashed out. I personally have had no problems with it, and I'm sure this is only a few individual cases where this has happened. To help boost your earnings on the site, they also offer a bonus if you refer your friends. Currently they offer a promotion that for the first 60 days you get a 15% bonus of your friends earnings, and following these 60 days it carries on but at a reduced 10% rate. You can even sign up through facebook to make it easier to invite your friends. The site will prompt you to write more if they feel you haven't written a lengthy enough review or included enough important components for it. I experienced this a couple of times when I first began, but simply googled how to write a good music review and this gave me some helpful suggestions of things I should be including and I haven't experienced this since. I would definitely recommend this site to friends. Its a great way to make a little bit of extra money and by recommending friends you can make money without even logging on regularly! A massive win for you. I would give it four and a half stars, but as I can't I have put four. I think if the amounts paid were slightly higher then it would be worth five stars.
I have quite light and thin eyelashes, so like to wear mascara everyday to give myself a more wide eyed look. However, I don't really like to spend a lot on mascara as I find a lot are very overpriced for what they are. I bought scandaleyes mascara when it was on offer for £4.99, it is normally around the £6.99 mark in high street make up stores. This mascara was easy to put on and definitely made my eyelashes look a lot bolder. The brush is quite thick however, so can be difficult to navigate and makes it quite easy to smudge mascara on your face by accident. The main problem I have had with this mascara is that it has started to dry up a little bit around the top, this means that when I unscrew the lid, I often find little bits of dried mascara flake off and get over your clothes. Not exactly something you want when you've just put on a nice clean outfit. But I'm sure if you wipe it down regularly after use you can avoid this product. I often fall asleep with my make up still on, and have never found that this mascara has irritated my eyes or skin by sleeping in it. I would definitely recommend this item to a friend, and I myself would probably buy it at the more expensive price than what I originally paid.
I've never been a big lipstick wearer so when I decided to buy some I didn't want to spend much money because I didn't know how much use it was going to get. So I went along to my local superdrug and this is where I stumbled across NYC expert last lipstick, and at a bargain price of £1.99 I couldn't resist! I was looking for quite a light pinky colour and eventually chose the 411- snowcone shade. I have a very fair complexion and this colour suited it just perfectly, without looking like I had piled on the make up. If you want an even lighter colour I found if you dab a little bit on your finger and rub it on your lips, it works very well as a lip stain as well. At such a cheap price I though the colour wouldn't last very long, but I was pleasantly surprised. I wore it out for a meal and even though it wasn't completely visible after, my lips were still a lighter pinker shade. The only problem I had with this lipstick is the packaging. The lid of the lipstick often falls off in my handbag and make up bag. This has got lipstick all over the insides and has damaged the actual stick where it is being bashed against other items. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, however I would advise they put a bit of sellotape on the lid to keep it on and to protect the product.
I have never been completely fussed about keep up to date with the latest smartphones, so when I upgraded my pay monthly contract I decided to go for a slightly older model to save myself some money. I chose Blackerry because I knew many of friends had them and as they were such a huge brand I expected a phone that was great quality and reliable. I was bitterly disappointed with this phone however. After having it for only six months the phone stopped working, all of the buttons wouldn't work and the phone was practically useless. Luckily as I had taken out insurance my phone company replaced the phone with an identical model, and as I still had 18 months left on my contract I was forced to accept that I would have to carry on with this model. The replacement phone lasted about a year. My job requires me to work outside in a variety of weather, and one day when I was at work it was raining slightly and I chose to use my phone. Whilst I understand phones are not waterproof I didn't expect a tiny bit of water to effect the phone. However, yet again the phone stopped working. I am not an expert with phones so will not attempt to relay any technical details to you, I generally just use my phone for the bog standard texting and calling, with the occasional surfing of the internet. Whilst this was phone was able to manage though tasks successfully, I think Blackberry should have made the phone slightly tougher and more reliable. I definitely would not recommend this phone to a friend, and if I'm completely honest I have been put off purchasing a phone from Blackberry again in the future.
As a student currently in my third year of university, I have had my fair experience of living in a house with poor students who are reluctant to turn on the heating! Unfortunately for me I landed myself in a ground floor bedroom which had the most draughts in the house. I purchased this heater so that I could heat my room without having to turn on the heating for the whole house unnecessarily, but was wary as I was often told that these little heaters are known for the pushing up your electricity bills. For the size of the heater I wasn't expecting it to be very powerful, however I was pleasantly surprised. I could feel the room was significantly warmer after only being on for about five minutes and I would often get comments from my housemates at how warm my room was. The heater is very small and only weighs about 1.3 Kg. With regards to the extra cost to our bills we didn't find that it significantly made our electricity bills anymore expensive. If anything the little heater saved us money, if we were all sat in one room we would just turn this on for ten minutes rather than switching the heating on. The heater has two different heat settings, and a fan setting if you chose to use it in the summer to cool rooms down. You can position the fan either lying down or stood upright. On Amazon you can purchase this item for only £12.99 with free delivery, definitely worth purchasing at that price. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
I have had my student bank account with the co-operative for over two years now and as I don't live very close to a branch I immediately set up my online banking to make my life a lot easier. Setting up the banking was very simple, I simply called the bank and informed them I wanted to set it up and the very helpful call centre staff had it set up for me in no time. I had to set up multiple pieces of security information, all things that I would remember easily without being too obvious that anyone could get into my account. They also sent me a card reader so I had extra security when setting up my payments online. The online banking website is very simple to use, when you first log into your account you are presented with details of your accounts and their balances. Upon clicking on the individual account you are presented with a more detailed account summary, including your agreed overdraft limit and the transactions within that statement period. You can also click below to view your previous statements. Setting up a payment to an account takes about five minutes initially, but once you have that set up the account remembers that person so next time you only have to click on their name and enter the amount and you can pay your bills in a couple of minutes! I have once locked myself out of my account by getting security information wrong, however this was solved very quickly by calling the bank. I merely had to run through some of security details so they could verify it was me and I was able to reset the the piece of information and get my account up and running again. I would definitely recommend this service to a friend, it has made my banking with the co operative a lot simpler, and has saved me from many visits to the branches.
I wore glasses for almost ten years before choosing to move to contact lenses over three years ago. I was nervous at first, putting my fingers in my eye seemed rather daunting and I just thought I was going to hurt myself! But Specsavers were great at easing me into it and helping me choose the perfect product for me. I had my initial consultation with specsavers in which they conducted an eye test to check if you were suitable for contact lenses and what strength you would need. Following this they discussed with me what types of contact lenses I would like, e.g. dailies or monthlies. I chose monthly disposables. Specsavers also offered aftercare products, in which you could set up a direct debit and have the contact lenses and fluid posted to you every three months to save you visiting your local store. Whilst contact lenses do work out slightly more pricey than glasses, a lot more pricey if you don't regularly change your frames, for me contact lenses are the better choice. I never felt glasses suited me and wearing contact lenses has massively boosted my confidence! This particular brand are extremely comfortable, if you do experience discomfort I would recommend going for another consultation as it is possible you were prescribed the wrong size or shape contact lenses. Occasionally towards then end of the month I do feel my eyes are slightly drier and this can sometimes be slightly uncomfortable but I have only experienced this a few times. Overall I would definitely recommend these contact lenses to a friend, whilst they may not be the cheapest offered on the market, the expert services provided by Specsavers makes it worth the extra cost.
I absolutely love boohoo.com, I recently ordered two items, a dress and a cardigan from them. The items looked exactly like the pictures shown on the website, the material feels great quality and they fit true to their size. Boohoo.com is a reasonably priced clothes site, I find it a good website to purchase 'faddy' fashion purchases. They stock all the latest trends without the huge price tags you may find from other retailers. For more basic, fashion staple items, the style steals section of the website is fantastic. You can get a huge selection of cheap items that you can mix with the fashion items for extremely low prices, usually under £15.00. Whilst delivery is reasonably priced, £3.99 to be delivered in four working days or £5.99 for next day delivery and Saturday delivery, they often run promotions that give you free delivery if your spend over a certain amount of money, normally around the £40-£50 mark. I'm a student and absolutely love the 10% student discount you can get from boohoo.com, it makes their reasonably priced items even better value (and makes me feel a little less guilty for having an online spending splurge!). Overall, I would definitely recommend this website to my friends.
I absolutely love painting my nails and Barry M is my first choice in nail varnish. I regularly change my mind about what colour I want and like to have a wide variety so Barry M is perfect for me. They have a wide range of colours and are normally priced from about £1.50 - £2.00, so you can stock up on a good selection without breaking the bank! For the price, the quality of the nail varnish is exceptional. The paint spreads on your nails evenly, although I would recommend more than one coat otherwise the colour can come across a bit thin. I bite my nails and the colour still last without chipping for roughly five days. Personally I wasn't impressed by the crackle nail varnish range released by Barry M, the overall look comes out tacky and gives the impression of chipped nail varnish, rather than the decided crackle effect.
I bought my peugeot 106 as my first car when I was 18 years old, and I honestly don't think I could have chosen a better car. For my age range and lack of experience insurance prices are ridiculously high, but I managed to get a years insurance on this car for just over £1000 (sounds expensive, but trust me that is very reasonable for a new, young driver!). Tax was also cheap for the car, and it passed through its mot with flying colours. I owned it for a year and never experienced any problems with the car, and as I bought it at such a bargain price I was actually able to sell it for slightly more than I had originally paid! The car is very comfortable and extremely spacious. The speakers aren't of great quality, but are fine for just generally listening to the radio on your way to work.
I have found that sure deodrant is one of the most reliable brands that are currently on the market. One standard sized bottle lasts at least a month and is reasonably inexpensive. I generally get quite sweaty and I'm therefore quite paranoid about having any sweat smells following me around, however after using one decent spray under each arm in the morning I found the product lasted throughout the whole day. I have quite sensitive skin under my armpits, but haven't found that the product has dried it out at all and often leaves the skin feeling quite smooth. One of the biggest benefits of this deodrant is that it doesn't leave white marks or stubborn stains on black clothes, and also prevents the yellow sweat marks on white tops. Whilst the product isn't very expensive, I would recommend keep an eye on supermarkets as they often discount this product or offer promotions that make it more cost effective to bulk buy. You can also buy smaller, travel sized spray cans which are handy for holidays or travelling.
I have used dream matte mousse foundation religiously for about five years now. I have on occasion tried other foundations, but have always found myself returning to this one. I have sensitive skin, and I'm often prone to breakouts but have never had any problems from using this foundation, even though I use it daily. When you apply it, it doesn't feel heavy and you don't look like you have caked your face in foundation. Although, like any foundation, ensure that you have selected the correct shade for your skin tone to ensure an even coverage. As a student I do find this foundation quite pricey, although compared to some make up ranges it is reasonably priced. My advice is to bulk buy the foundation when it is on offer, often superdrug has three for the price of two on maybelline products. I take advantage of this and buy three pots and save around £6 a time.
I personally was not interested in buying an Ipad when they were first released, however I was bought this as a present and I was surprised by how addictive the tablet was. I use mine mainly for the apps and for surfing the internet, and many of the apps are extremely addictive and you have a wide range to choose from, including games and magazines. The kindle app is especially useful, it provides you with all aspects of the kindle within your Ipad, saving you spend more money on both devices. Whilst the Ipad is a handy device I believe it isn't worth the cost compared with other tablets that are currently being released in the market, but hopefully Apple will lower the cost or make them more unique to keep them relevant in the expanding tablet market. I had previously heard of the screens on apple products breaking easily and was nervous as I am extremely clumsy! However, I have dropped my Ipad several times, even on hard flooring and have only got a small chip of the edge of it. I would recommend a case for it though to prevent any accidents! The battery life is very short on the ipad, especially if you are consistently running apps on it.
I've owned these hair straighteners for approximately six years now and I have never had any problems with them. I use them daily and they still work just as well as they did when I first bought them. My hair is very fine and damages and dries out very easily, I don't use any hair protecting products and haven't had much damage from this product. I do get increased split ends when if I've used it more frequently but I have found this with all hair straightening products I have used. Many of my friends owned these straighteners, or other GHD branded straighteners, before I bought mine and recommended it to me when I was looking to buy a new pair and they were all 100% satisfied with them. I recently recommended them to my sister who has thick curly hair, and she has found they work extremely well for her hair as well.
I bought this laptop two and a half years ago to take to university with me and it is still going strong, although I do think I will have to replace it within the next year or so. The only problem I have with it this that the bottom of it can get extremely hot, which can become quite uncomfortable if you are resting the laptop on your lap, and when it is attempting to cool down it can become a bit noisy. I have not had to replace the battery or the laptops charger in the time I've owned it, and the battery life is pretty reasonable. The only time I find the battery runs down quickly is if I am using things like youtube, or watching DVDs. Although I believe this would drain the battery quicker on almost any laptop. Whilst not particularly suitable for gaming, I attempted to install the sims 2 on it at one point but the laptop struggled to function and the game was slow and glitchy, it is useful for generaly surfing of the internet and creating documents. I paid approximately £215 for this laptop and for that price I would say its extremely worth its money. I've even dropped it a couple of times and never had any problems afterwards! Specifications: (can also be found on the Samsung website) It runs a Windows 7 operating system. 15.6" LED HD (1366 x 768) 16:9 Gloss Display Intel GMA 4500M (Integrated Graphics) Shared Memory (Integrated Graphics) 320GB (5400rpm S-ATA) Hard Drive (HDD) Super Multi Dual Layer (S-ATA) (ODD) HD (High Definition) Audio SRS 3D Sound Effect Mic Noise Suppression 2 Watts Stereo Speaker (1 Watts x 2) Integrated Web Camera Intel® Celeron® Processor T3500 (2.1GHz, 1MB) 379.6 x 255.5 x 32.6 ~ 37.4mm (14.9" x 10.0" x 1.28" ~ 1.47") 2.44kg (5.37lbs) 2GB (DDR3 / 2GB x 1) Graphic Memory 2 x SODIMM (Up to 4GB) Memory Slot I would definitely recommend this as an everyday laptop, but would recommend something more pricey to people who are after something to use for gaming etc.
