I finally got this game after a few weeks of trying to find a decent rpg/stratergy game for the psp. I did a bit of resarch and looked like a decent enough game. Dont be fooled! At £15 i was expecting a lot more. This game is absoloutly the most pointless and boring stratergy game i have ever played. There is far to much just watching the screen waiting for the computer to take its turns. The fighting has little to no skill involved and the controls when you finally work them out are far to complicated. The cut scenes are never ending and if you do decide to skip them will be completly lost and not understand a thing that is going on. There is little to know freedom with charcter devolpment and although you get to create a character at the start i am still unable to work out how to use them. Every time i have tried to get into this game it seriously just sends me to sleep. If you want a decenrt stratergy game go for final fantasy tatics, or for rpg the classic breath of fire or the new star ocean second departure had hours of decent gaming out of that and well worth the money.
I picked up this game the same day i played Astonisha story trying to cheer mysel up. The game itself is quite good. The movie scenes are pleasent and it has a bit of a story line to get you intrested.
You play as a young boy called Pietro who is about 10 years old and have to try and find away to save your mother who has been asleep for ten years following an attack from a demon.
The controlls are very simple and there is a bit of freedom at points which allows you to build yourself up. If you do happen to stumble into a tough battle it wont be game over but you will be taken to the last inn you saved at with half your gold.
The towns are a decent size and there is a fair bit of exploring to do. You can aqquire a team that will travel with you on your journey so far ive got 4 but there will be more. The dialog is humorous at times and shoul keep some rpg fans content. The real flaw of this game is the random battles. They are ok when you first go to a new area but will get very repetitive after an hour of playing especially as you have to run to and from places regularly.
I picked this game up on the cheap just after xmas. I am a huge fan of rpg's and was expecting something along the lines of the old mega drive games shining force. This was not the case!
You play as a young knight called lloyd who is the hero of the story and you aim is to recover a royal treasure that has been stolen.
The storyline is extremly dull dont expext to be kept plain for that reason. The graphics are extremly basic and you will find your self constantly squinting to see if you have missed anything.
The basic game play is ok but after an hour i had to put it down really starting to send me to sleep. I can play some rpgs for hours but this was not one of them. The battles are very repetitive and you will not find much variety in the mosters.
The towns ar boring with very little to do. You can apparently get characters to join you but all the ones i have got so far leave again so you will waste time if you build them up, and if you dont then you will probably die. If you are into a game along this format and have a wii then download shining force 2 a far superior game.
I got my mr2 as a 21 birthday present 2 myself. I paid over £3000 for it on a H plate. The car itsel looks fantastic and the feeling you get the first time you drive it is amazing. But unfortunately this has been the worst purchase of my life. The repair costs are expensive and there will be a few. In 3 years i had to replace so many parts i lost track. The main selling point of this car is the looks and the handling which is unquestionable in the dry. I had never driven a rear wheel drive before and didnt relaise how twitchy they are in the wet. You barley need to touch the throtel and the back slides out and trys to over take you. The insurance was ok but i had a good no claims bonus still nearly a £1000 fully comp. The boot is tiny and really you cant argue in any way that this car is practicle. I used to commute quite a bit and hardly drove it only at weekends and sunny days. I finally got rid for £750 to put towards my present car my golf vr6 which is much more comftable and practicle yet still gives you a great feeling when you drive it. Plus the performance is much better.
Hi there i stubbled across these reviews and thourght id leave my own. I have had vw golfs since i first started driving over ten years ago, i started off with the clasic mk1 golf that unfortunately ended in a nasty crash. If i had been driving a modern car i would have been dead. So my love affair with the golf began. I purchased my mk3 2 years ago for 2.800. It is on a P plate and done 60'000 miles. I did loads of research and got myself the 2.8 vr6 model not easy in my area and so chuffed to get it. I have had gti and standard before and they all have exceptional build quality and relaibility. The feel you get driving the golf is excellent you feel safe and know that no matter what your car will get you home. I am really poor for looking after my cars its not that i dont know what to do more like lazyness. I very regulary do mainantince on them only when it is neccessary. I have had problems with a couple of my golfs one with the injector unit and another with the water pump. But in both cases the car would still keep going all be it a little bit worse for ware. They are nice cars to work on when you finally do need to some repairs and the parts are not overly expensive. I have had other cars but always as well as a golf. I have had a couple of fords and and mr2 mk2 and have got a vaxuall as well at the moment. For safety and relability and generall fun to drive always pick up the keys to my golf. I have not driven any of the new golfs as i am not that keen on the look of them, i was dissapointed when i drove the mk4 so this has put me off the more modern models.
I bought this game for a couple of quid mainly cause i had played most of the games for the ps2 and took a gamble wuth this. Having never seen the cartoon i imagined it would be similar to yu-gi-oh. It is but not as good. The basic idea of playing as a character collecting monsters and battiling your way to the finall tournment to face the eveil widow sounds ok but the reality is that this game is extremlt tedious. You start off by picking 1 of 5 characters to battle with each with its own civilisation, fire, darkness, nature, light, water. Each civilisation has its own pluses and negative e.g fire has fast creatures that you can summon which will allow you to beat your oppent swiftly. The way the game plays out is that once youve picked your character and youve been and shoped for some cards you can enter a tournment and battle. You take it in turns to summon monsters depending on how much mana you have will determin what cards you can summon then the monsters will take it in turns to attack. Once you have completed a tournment with one character you have to go back and do it all over again with the other 4 before you can get to the final tournament. i managed to complete 3 characters then really had enougth. My advice if you liked the sound of this sort of game by yu-gi-oh duelist of the roses miles better.
Baten Kaitos is a traditional rpg in the sense that it has turn based battles mini quests and the usall charcter growth. The story is set around 2 characters and you. you play the guardian spirit that is fused with Kalas a young warrior how is seeking revenge for the murder of his brother and grandfather. The game is set in a fantasy world where angels and mystic beasts are common. the graphics and movie scenes are good and you will enjoy the story line as it gets quite gripping. The battles which are turn based are done through the use of magus cards. This is basically an items essence trapped in a card, this can be anything from weapons to items and even magic. By selecting different cards in different order you can make some amazing combos. The towns and field maps are varied and you will find quite a bit to do in most towns. The charcter devolpment is ok nothing ground breaking just your standard leveling up and equiping. As you play through your choices you make will have an impact on how your character reacts and what he says. To be honest this is an ok rpg that will keep you busy for about 50 hours but would have much rather seen a standard battle format as this one is a bit over whelming
I bought this game to try and get my other half into rpg's and thought that this looked like the game to do it. The animations are excellent and any one who likes the disney characters will love this. You play as the hero sora with your magic weapon the key blade which allows you to enter diffrent worlds. You are accompined by donald and pluto as your allies. The battles are done so that you have to attack manually not your usall turn based rpg. The story line is really good and you will get to visit countless places from the disney movies. The level of difficulty is quite hard at certain points of the game especially the end battles where you definately need a system to defeat them. You have skills that you can equip and can switch between your charcters. There are lots of hidden things to do through out the game and puzzles to solve. Expect to see loads of familar faces not just from the disney movies but other rpg titles as well. This game is well worth buying even hard core rpg fans will have some fun with this one
Dark cloud to is an adventure rpg i was hoping to play dark cloud but couldnt get it for less than £50 and im not to keen on buying second hand so i went with this one. Its a bit slow gettin started and you play as 1 of 2 charcters at various points of the game. The first you play as a young boy who repairs machines working for his grandad. The second is a princess from the future. The main aim of the game is to deafet a dark sourcer who is traveling through time changing the world to destroy periords. The animation and graphics are good and the towns that you van explore are pretty impressive. The way which you explore the field map starts of pretty boring but stick at it gets so much better. You travel to various areas of a certain map and eventually reach an end boss which are pretty impressive. Depending on how you peform and if certain condintions are met you will reciev medals that can be traded in. You have a huge amount of side quest in this game and i wont list them all as it will ruin it. But you can play a form of golf on each stage once you aqquire a putter. You can creat inventions from photos you take any where which can be anything from parts for you mech armour to items you equip or use in battle. Sell your battle photos for adecent amount opf gold. Fishing is great fun will spend hours just doing this trust me. The battles are not turn based but where you can see and attack an enemy with either your hand to hand weapon or ranged one. My favorite part of this game is the near limitless amount of weapons you can combine and power up, i spent hours leveling up my weapons and still have made the ultimate one. I have been playing this for over 100 hours and have still not completed it mainly because i love all the minigames. Slow starting but stick with it trust me.
First of all let me say when this series first came out about 15 years ago on teristrial tv i was not sure what to make of it. after watching them all i can tell you this is a fantastic sereis. Yes you can tell it is quite old when you watch it but the storylines in all of them are excellent. The series starts as a war drama England against france. The story tells of sharpe Sean Bean and his journey from a common soilder up through the ranks.Sean plays a soilder with an impecable belief of justice. He dispises officers who sit around while his men die for there country. His bond with his men is unbreackable and you will regulary see him and his regiment agianst unbelivable odds. Sean is excellent in this and will always consider a film with him in it based on his performance. The series is very moving and has lots of twists in it. Each espisode is a story in its own so you wont be left with a cliff hanger and all stories do follow on so watch them in order. The violence is very moderate but would nt recommend children under 12 watching it. The charcters are excellent and you will definatly find your self getting attatched to some of the charcters. In its day was excellent 5 stars for sure but because of its age i have given it 4. At this price though definatly worth getting
Unfortunately I was probably one of the few people who bought this game new. The only good thing that can be said about this game is that the graphics and animation is good but not spectacular. You have extremely limited movemnent as it is in 2d left right and jump. The moves that you can excute are also very limited. The levels are very basic and you get rewarded for completing certain levels with a rank of up to 5 starts. This is depending on how much damge you took and how quickly you completed the level. We are talking minitues so dont panic to much. The end bosses are ok but all of them have a weak point and a set way to kill them which you will need to find to defeat them. You collect mana dropped by enemys which you can use when you are creating items. Certain items must be made like the protection from fire so you dont constantly take damage on certain levels. Once you have completed a chapter of the story you will move onto a new and get to play as a different character. there are a few shops in the game and if you have the money you can buy some decent items latter in the game. As far as the limited bag goes you can buy additional bags so that you can carry almost 80 items which is more than enough room. This game has some really good concepts in that could have made it into a great game but unfortunatley this game is aimed at a rpg audience and most definatly dose not deliver
After purchasing and playing nearly ever rpg for the ps2 i decided to give this one ashot. I thought the first one in the series was ok and wasnt dissapointed with this one. You play a young dective who is basically the main character accompined by allies. The big down fall is that each charcter has a specialtity and the main charcters is a camera. although you can take pitchers to collect items and trade for various items would have been much better giving this ability to one of the support charcters. One of your allies has the ability to transform into beasts with immense powere and for me this is the main charcter. You will aqquire additional beasts and be able to power them up as you progeress through the game. The amount of charcter devolpment is adequate but there is very little freedom to run where you want. Battles are done in a turn based format and use the ring system same as in the first game. The ring system is where you have to time hitting a moving curse around a 360 target. You can customise your ring how you see fit and its not that difficult to use. The graphics are good and the cut scenes are not to long. If you are considering this game and have not played the first then buy that cause this was not an improvement and personally i thought the first was better. I played the game quite near to the end solving most of the mini quests on the way and took about 45 hours probably 50 to complete.
This was one of the first games i bought for my game cube and the first time i had gone for a phantasy star game. The game follows a rpg format but the battles are done turn based on a grid similar to the wild arms franchise. The controls are really simple to pick up and the graphics are good. All epuipment and monsters that you can use are done by collecting cards that you will get for fulling various tasks, the higher your task rank the better chance you have of aquiring a rare card. You play as 1 of two races. 1 race uses weapon and sheild crds to equip and attack with. The other race use powerfull creatures to summon and fight on your behalf. A fair amount of stratergy is needed in the battles you cant just move in and wipe out everything no matter how strong you think you are. The difficulty level is spot on and once you get into this can easly play for 50-60 hours. I havent tried the online mode but from what i can make out you can use your characters to battle in massive tournments earning money and cards to use in your game. The only thing that could have been better is the space station you are in the graphics are ok but after a while you wont want to spend much time there.
I thought that this game would be so much better than it was. I am an avid fan of warhammer and hoped that this game would be some where along thoes lines. The game itself is ok. The controls are very simple to pick up and theres a good tutorial to get you started. Once you get into the thick of things you realsie that this is a cross between age of empires and warhammer. The main object of the game is to command your army of orcs across maps and rout out other tribes. On the way you need to flag resources so that you can upgrade and buy even more powerfull troop types. In this aspect the game is good although they could have expanded the amount of different troops as there really isnt that many to choose from. The difficulty of the game is fairly challenging and although i only spent 15 or so hours on it i think i was only about half way through. The graphics are good and definatly help this game to a good review. The replay values is very limited as once you have your toughtest army theres not much better you can get and still the battles wont be a walk in the park
