I enjoy seeing what scents celebrities put their name to, and it's difficult to find a nice one. Taylor Swift has a huge reputation for having everything she touches turning to gold, and as a fan I really hoped I wouldn't be disappointed with the perfume. I wasn't.
I got the bigger bottle, which came with a few decent perks.
With the perfume, I got a free bag and a few charms on the bottle lid. It smells really sweet and fruity, and the bottle is beautiful. It's a deep sparkly purple, and when you hold it up to the light you can see how much you have left.
If you enjoy the fruitier perfumes, I would definitely recommend this one. It's definitely my favourite perfume at the moment. It's worth getting for birthdays, christmas or just to treat yourself. I'm wonderstruck by it. I apologise for the awful pun.
If you're a student in Manchester and haven't been here even once, you're missing out. It's right near Factory and the gay village.
5th is definitely the best place to go, you can have a really good night out for less than £20. There's pretty much no dress code and anyone is welcome. Also, they have so many events like dress up, UV nights, bucking broncos, and the very best foam parties.
The music is pretty much the same every night, but if you like it one night, you know you'll enjoy it all the other nights. Like most places, it doesn't get good until about midnight. It also helps if you're drunk before you get there because the bar gets pretty busy.
Thursday is the best night, it's really cheap. Also, you can get a membership card, where you can get a few free drinks and queue-jump. You can check the website for the benefits of membership card, and how to get it.
I had this installed in my home the other day, and I struggle to leave the sofa now.
With the XL package, I get some very popular TV shows on demand, and it's really easy to navigate. I have loads of new seasons that I can't wait to watch. The waiting time for the box to respond is incredible, it's like watching a DVD. The old VM boxes took ages to respond and it was really annoying.
The only downside is the annoying noise it makes when you press a button. I'll probably have a play with the settings and realise that the noise is easily switched off.
I have access to Twitter and YouTube through the TV.
I would definitely go as far as to say that it's a preview of the future of television. I'd say ignore the packages Sky and BT offer, and go to Virgin Media. They have the 100mb broadband coming soon, which is almost twice as fast as any other internet around.
Because Lenco isn't a well-known brand, I was wary of buying this product without testing it out first. I ended up getting from HMV for £100. I'm so impressed with it, it's the best iPod dock you can get for that price. If it had a popular brand name on it, you'd be looking at paying at least twice the price for the same quality.
When I got it out of the box, I realised I had to screw the stand on myself. The screws ended up going in a bit bent, but that could just be my bad DIY skills.
The sound quality is incredible. It easily matches up to the bigger brands, which was surprising.
As well as a dock, I can plug a USB lead in, an SD card, and it can be used as a regular speaker. You can charge your iPod in the dock, your phone in the USB, and have your laptop plugged in playing stuff at the same time.
If you need to buy an Xmas or birthday present, or replace your smaller dock which you probably spent the same amount on, you definitely need to get this. The brand is becoming more recognised so I'd suggest getting the products cheap before the price goes up.
The iPhone is the perfect phone for all ages. With a built in iPod and everything you'd ever expect from any portable device, you can't go wrong.
The phone is light and thin, and the overall design is beautiful. It comes in black and white. Mine is white.
The iPhone has calendars, alarms, and an app for anything ever. There's an app that records you sleeping and shows you what you said the next morning. There's news apps, banking apps and endless amounts of games.
The iPhone has two cameras, one on the front and one on the back. The one on the back is very high quality, with flash and a choice of making it HD, but I can't really tell the difference. The video is very high quality too, and there's an iMovie app you can buy to professionally edit your videos.
The camera in the front isn't the best, but it's alright for the facetime feature, which is video calling other iPhones.
The phone does everything you need it to. I'd recommend buying a case and screen cover as if you drop it and it chips or scratches, it's very upsetting.
The iPhone is worth every single penny that you pay for it. Because the internet is constantly on it, I'd recommend getting a contract with unlimited internet. My contract is The One Plan with the 3 network, as it offers me all-you-can-eat data. You can even get an app for most networks to see how much allowance you have left.
The battery life when you first get it doesn't seem to be very good, but the phone appears to build up a tolerance against it and begins to last long after a few weeks. I'd recommend not leaving the charger in overnight, as it deteriorates the battery over time, and it's not easily replaced.
I'd give this phone a 7 star rating if I could, but I'll have to settle for 5.
If you go to festivals, this is exactly what you need.
You and a friend should pitch in (no pun intended) and get this. Shop about for prices, as it costs very different prices everywhere you go.
Lugging this thing about is a little embarrassing at first, as wearing it like a backpack makes you look like a giant turtle, which can be fun if you've already started drinking, but it makes up for it's stupid look with simplicity and how light it is.
All you do is take it out of the case and throw it out, and your tent is up, while everyone else is putting sticks through material and probably forgetting pieces. Just remember the pegs, or that thing is flying away.
It's quite small, so it is only to throw yourself in and sleep in. It definitely isn't to go on camping holidays in.
It's just as easy to put away, just a quick twist and you can shove it back in the bag. It takes around 30 seconds to pack it away.
The additional items are just as simple, but I'd recommend buying your sleeping bag separately, as the ones that come with this aren't very comfortable.
For the past 10 years, since I was 9 years old, I've been hooked on Buffy.
Buffy Summers, the chosen one, is a vampire slayer that just happens to live on the hellmouth. She and her group of friends are forever battling evil.
I know every episode start to finish, and it took over my life completely. Buffy was the ultimate hero for little girls. Who wants to be Barbie when you can be Buffy Summers, jumping and kicking around like a total badass?
Buffy was untouchable, and I could never get bored of it. I still don't. I'm even obsessed with the spin-off, Angel.
Joss Whedon, behind Buffy, Angel, The Avengers, Grimm and so much more, is a complete genius and has the Midas touch when it comes to TV shows.
If you haven't seen Buffy, take a week off work, buy the box set, and I guarantee you won't leave the house from 'Welcome to the Hellmouth' to 'Chosen'. You'll laugh, cry and feel every emotion you could possibly feel.
I don't usually enjoy Big Brother, only watching it on opening night to see which gang of weirdos they'd rounded up in lidl this time round, or to see which z-list celebrities they'd scraped from the bottom of the barrel, but this time round, celebrity big brother has really won me over.
The producers have managed to put together the perfect mixture of celebrities. They have beloved soap stars and tv presenters to win over the viewer's heart, the ex-badboy(s) who's turned their life around, the bitchy models/online prostitutes to keep the show interesting, and the eye candy for girls.
The main event of this year is Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino. The Situation is from Jersey Shore, which is the most successful reality tv show of all time, and he's brought in record viewers for the past 5 seasons with his womanising, trouble causing and downright bitchiness.
I'd keep an eye out for The Situation. He's going to cause a storm, as soon as he gets comfortable in the house. His newfound sobriety after troubles with prescription medication makes him much clearer and fitter than ever before. And keep an eye out for those perfect abs!
For £50 for a 1TB hard drive, you can't really expect much in design.
If you want an external hard drive that you want to be able to take everywhere with you, this is not the product you are looking for. I'd suggest paying more for the tiny hard drives, as this bulk of plastic isn't very portable.
The hard drive does not have it's own on/off switch, so you have to plug it in and unplug in when you want it on or off, as it can overheat.
The internal parts work perfectly. As soon as you plug it into the usb, it's ready to go and shows all of the files straight away. Sometimes other hard drives can take a short while to load the files. It has worked with several windows pcs and laptops, macs and macbooks, ps3, xbox 360 and many tv sets.
The outer case isn't very strong, but it shouldn't be dropped anyway. It fell from a cabinet around 2ft from the ground, and one side cracked open. It somehow fixed itself by falling back into place after I left it on its side for a few hours.
This hard drive is definitely for sitting next to the tv or games console, holding films. It isn't portable as the outside is weak and bulky.
I'd give it a 3/5 as the design is inferior to other products, but it is cheap and works perfectly.
As a student in my first year at uni, I bought this as my laptop is known to overheat after a short while, and I would be using my laptop for long periods of time.
It couldn't get any simpler to use. You just put it on a flat surface such as a desk, and put your laptop on top of it, plugging it into a usb slot.
It has to be on a flat surface, as the fans won't spin against your lap.
It is very quiet and doesn't distract you as you're working, as other cooling fans are known to make a distracting whirring noise, which would be very offputting.
My laptop hasn't overheated once while I've been using it, and it doesn't get in the way. All you have to do is get used to your laptop being a little higher than usual, which is stranger than you'd think.
The best thing about it is that it is extremely light, making it mobile. I've taken it into uni on a number of occasions, as it's thin enough to easily fit into my laptop bag.
I'd definitely recommend this fan to anyone who uses their laptop daily, as it seriously prevents your laptop's chances of overheating, which will destroy your laptop's battery in the long run. It will save you a lot of money.
I'd give this product a 5/5, taking into account it's primary purpose, design and other attributes such as noise and size.
I have had this safe for 6 years, and it's been extremely helpful for all of that time.
It was a joke Christmas present, as I always complained about my brother taking any sweets I had, but it's proved to be very useful to me.
The door is very strong and it's simple to operate, with a button inside to change the password and a key to override the electronics if you forget the password. The key panel is hidden and you can't even tell it's there unless you're looking for it. There is no chance whatsoever of anyone breaking into it without power tools.
The batteries that came with the safe were excellent, as they took 6 years to run out. It takes 4xAA batteries. It's very heavy so keep it away from surfaces where kids can pull it off, as it will severely damage them. There are some bolts that come with in and some holes in the back of the safe, so it can easily be attached to a wall.
I'd definitely recommend it to people who want to protect their valuable belongings.
I'd definitely suggest keeping an eye on the batteries and keeping the override key safe, as my dad had the same safe and got his passport locked in there the day he was supposed to go on holiday, and had to take the back off with power tools.
This is not a good laptop to buy if you want to use it regularly.
The memory was very small and I found it becoming much slower after only installing iTunes and putting music onto it, which is the expected basics of a laptop in this day and age. After putting a couple more essential programmes, the laptop took a stupidly long time to load up, constantly freezing.
The battery life was just terrible, with it running out in under two hours regularly. After leaving the charger in and using it for a few hours, it overheated and died almost every time.
After a year and a half of using this laptop, it's only useful to watch films on from an external hard drive, as the laptop can't manage to work properly and hold files. The battery is useless and does not work on it's own, so it doesn't even switch on without the charger, which doesn't really make it portable any more.
I'd suggest paying out for the bigger brands, which will save a few hundred pounds in the long run. This laptop would need the hard drive constantly wiping like mine has done, and the battery replacing.
I got this docking station in a sale at HMV for £15, and I found out within weeks why it was discounted from its usual price of £30.
I thought it was very handy at first. I could move it around the house, the sound quality was very good. It was impressively loud for a smallish speaker, and the sound was very clear.
The front part, where you put your iPod, stuck out. It came with plastic attachments so that not too much pressure was put on the plug, which would break it. It came with different sized attachments, for all the different kinds of iPod. Unfortunately, there wasn't one for the iPhone.
After a few days, the plug started to become loose and I had to put a folded up bit of paper to hold in in place so the docking station would recognise it.
After a few weeks, the plug snapped into my iPhone, almost getting trapped inside and breaking my iPhone, and the docking station was useless.
In the future, I'd suggest paying for a more expensive speaker as you definitely get what you pay for with docking stations.
As someone who doesn't have much luck with earphones, managing to drop, snap or lose them every month or so, these are a godsend.
They're strong and you can find them usually for only £5. They last very long, even in my clumsy hands.
They have very high quality sound and come in a range of bright colours such as orange, blue, purple, green and pink.
They feel very comfortable in the ears, as cheap headphones usually start to rub and ache after around 20 minutes. I recently went on a 4 hour fight and managed to keep the earphones in without them rubbing for a good 3 hours or so.
The wire seems quite weak, unfortunately snapping quite easily if caught on a door handle or something sharp. The attachment between wire and the earphone is very loose, so it's highly possible for them to come apart if they're pulled too hard.
As a whole, I'd rate the earphones 4/5, as they are worth more than what the customer pays for them and the sound quality is excellent. I've recommended them to several friends, who also find them very useful as they are easily replaced and are very nice looking.
I don't usually wear perfume, but when I heard Katy Perry was bringing one out I was very interested in what it would smell like. As soon as I caught a whiff of this smell I just had to have it.
It covers you in a strong and sweet fruity smell, which sticks to you until your next shower.
The bottle, although the colour and cat design are very good, isn't the best. After around five uses, taking the top off, the necklace the cat wears falls off. It has happened to both bottles I've had and to bottles that friends have had too.
This perfume is definitely for everyday use, as it is not too expensive for perfume at around £35 a bottle, and it's not overpowering, as I have found most perfumes to be in the past.
I would recommend this to people who like to smell good, but don't like paying a lot of money for perfume. A small bottle lasted me around 8 months, and I wear this perfume quite a lot.
