I brought this Stay Matte Pressed Powder the other day from one of the local shops, as one of my close friends had recommended it because I had complained about my shiny forehead.
The product itself is in a small round tub which has a clear plastic lid, which I thought was good because I could see what I was getting. There are lots of shades available and to find the one you need is simple because most shops allow you to test the product.
The product promises a shine free complexion for up to five hours and help to minimise the appearance of large pores. I was glad because I do have a lot of pores on my nose and with previous experience of using pressed powder on my face I have found that they actually make my pores look more obvious. So any chance of minimising this problem is a bonus!!!
I recently went to a wedding and used this product, I found that it did last quite a while and lasted for a bout five hours all in all; which is relatively good because normally with other products I find myself constantly re-applying make-up.
To be honest I didn't really think that my pores looked any different with this powder but I would still buy it again because it did control my shiny forehead for 4 hours which is realtively good for me and I would recommend this product to anyone that has a shone control problem.
It cost's around £4 for a 14g tub depending on where you go and is available in most stores including Tesco, Boots and most Pharmacies.
Vaseline is petroleum jelly which I use as it's a very good moisturiser. It normally comes in a small tub but the sizes vary. You can get different varieties for different things too! For example you can get a pocket size metal tin for about £1 depending on where you buy it from, which is perfect for keeping in your hand bag and applying when necessary.
When I was training to be a Beauty therapist my teacher gave us lots of useful tips when it comes to using vaseline including:
If your eyebrows stick up, at night put plenty of vaseline on to them and brush them the way you want them to go.
When tinting your eyebrows and lashes put vaseline around the area so if the dye comes into contact with your skin then you can wipe the dye off dead easy. This also goes for, if you are dying your hair, put the vaseline around your hair line and again if you the dye gets into contact with your skin it's easy to get it off.
Use it on your lips all the time, it makes them really soft and protects them especially when the weather is really warm or really cold.
It's also good for dry skin, so if you get a patch of dry skin use vaseline.
It's also good for lots of other things such as burns etc!
I like this product because it is fairly cheap and quite handy. It helps to keep me feeling fresh and has helped me along with my Beauty Therapy course!
Newlook is one of my favorite stores.... it used to mainly only sell women and teenage girls clothing but in recent years it has expanded its range and now sells men and younger boys clothing too.
Newlook has csomething for everyone, not only does it sell clothing for men, women and teenagers but it also has a maternity, tall and plus size ranges called Inspire, which is aimed at women size 18 - 26.
I particularly like Newlook because they accept student cards so I get 10% off and sometimes they even make it 15% off. Newlook also have a lot of seasonal sales, which I always make a point of checking out because of how many bargains I can get. I once got a nice going out top for £5 in the sale, which was really good because I've still got it and it still looks new!
Newlook seems to sell very trendy, fashionable clothes at high street prices. thhey sell jeans from £12 which is a bargain!
