I used to hate the Pro Evo series of football games, mainly due to the lack of licences, but this was the game to win me round. I finally saw that i had been missing the point of football games, it is not all about the correct kits and making sure Wayne Rooney looks exactly like his ugly self, it is about playing a really fun game that rewards skillful play and is challenging yet still fun. I mainly liked playing this game online as you can test your skills against people from all over the world and try and out play them. There are some down sides to this game however. If you pick any side with Adriano in you can virtually walk the ball in to the goal due to his ridiculous strength, and that is not a one off occurrence. However overall this is proper good fun, even with the newer version that has been released.
What a great channel this is. I am a massive sports fan and therefore love keeping up to date with all things to do with sport. It is the first thing i turn to in the morning. I really do think that some excellent journalism goes on in making this news channel. There are always some really interesting pieces on throughout the day. My personal highlights are; the 730am piece, every day a highly rated journalist comes in to the morning show and picks through the daily papers which more often than not brings up some really interesting stories. Also though are the lovely ladies that present on the channel, i particular Georgie Thompson. She is beautiful and knows everything about premier league football, what more could you want! This channel is great and i will be gutted if the plan goes ahead for it to be taken off freeview. This is a brilliant channel.
Levi's make some fantastic jeans and are will seemingly be in fashion forever. What used to be the clothing choice of workmen is now a must have fashion item. They make so many different types of jeans which is great as that means there is a lot of choice when picking out a pair. The jeans cost on average about £70 but that is well worth it when you consider how sturdy these jeans are, long lasting is one asset they definitely have. There are a lot of different styles, and have been over the years. For example they came out with a simply bizarre twisted design, where the seam twisted across the jean rather than just run down the side. Also the company make some other good products, for example i won a number of t-shirts from Levi's and also a pair of shoes which are excellent. A great brand.
Why why oh why? is the question i find asking myself every time i see this book knocking about my room. Monty clearly has talent and he is obviously a big character within English cricket. It is also fair to say that he will be part of the game for a long time to come. But what exactly has he done to justify writing a book. It is not just Monty however, there seems to be a trend within English sports men to get a book on the shelves as quickly as anything nowadays. These people have not actually achieved anything, and Monty is a prime example of this. I see it as utter arrogance that these people think that people are going to choose to read about their lives. Who really cares about Monty's university days in Loughborough, not me. This is just one example of the infuriating trend of writing a book when you have done nothing.
I personally think that capital punishment needs to be brought back in to England. With the technology available at the police's disposal nowadays more and more crimes are being solved, and it seems there are less miscarriages of justice as very few people are convicted for things that they have not done. I cannot see why anyone who kills another person intentionally should have the right to life. By sacrificing someone else's you should sacrifice your own life. It does not seem fair that children in this country are being let down as there is not enough funding to give everyone a high quality education when murders are being kept in prisons. I don't think that people should be killed willy nilly but why should someone as Ian Huntley for example be allowed to live when he has been found guilty of such heinous crimes. Stop wasting government money and send out a strong message.
The Champions League is the pinnacle of club football around the world and every year provides some brilliant football. Since 2005 there has been an English club in the final every year which has seen Liverpool and Manchester United both winning it. The last 2 years has even seen 3 of the 4 semi-finals were English, which makes you wonder how we do so badly as a national side. The competition starts in July as many lowly teams from around Europe try to get through the three qualifying rounds before getting to the group stage. From there it can often be a little frustrating that the same sides dominate the groups and therefore you have to wait until February when the second phase gets underway to see Europe's top players compete against each other. This however can provide some simply pulsating football, remember the 2005 final?, and therefore i see it as the best club competition in the world.
Despite the fact England failed to qualify for this years competition i have still really enjoyed the tournament that has been running since 1960. It has been refreshing not having to go through the daily torment of being an England fan, the trails and tribulations of the side dominate the front and back pages of all the papers but it seems that ultimately we are destined for failure. Instead though this year i have been able to sit back and enjoy watching Europe's best footballers provide some awesome entertainment. Spain and Holland have been very impressive so far and many people now have them as favorites for the win now. I have not actually decided to support another team like many have done in this country, instead i just like being able to sit down at 5pm and watch some really good football, France Vs Romania aside that is. I have really enjoyed this tournament so far.
the twenty20 cup has basically been the basis for the revolution within world cricket. Over the past four years there has been an annual competition where basically each side gets 20 overs, which if you don't know is not very many, to get a hat full of runs. It is serious entertainment and i think has been a breath of fresh air for cricket in this country. My local team is Leicestershire who have been pretty successful in the competition. A family ticket, which is 2 adults and 2 kids, cost about £30 when i went last season which for 3 hours entertainment is quality. It has really got a lot of people in to the game, which some see as boring, but no-one can claim seeing these guys hit the ball to all parts is boring. Twenty20 appears to be the future of cricket not only in this country but all over the world
cereal bars are the worst invention i have seen in my whole life, they are simply horrible. I cannot see why you would choose to eat cereal that is not only not accompanied with milk but squashed together using some sort of gelling agent, goodness knows what it is. They make your mouth feel so dry which is horrible. Some people claim that for such a small piece of food they make you full, well i can assure you that they just don't. All they serve to do is make you want something more filling to eat after. The one good type of cereal bars are nutri-grain as they combine the cereal with a bit of moisture which makes something quite nice to eat. However there are so many bad cereal bars on the market that i can only give them 'in general' a bad review. Steer clear or these, have a bar of galaxy instead!
Jaffa cakes, from start to end they are just brilliant really. From the soft sponge bottom to the warm orangey centre and they that beautiful chocolate topping, they combine and create the ultimate small cake snack really. The problem is though they are so moorish it is ridiculous! Once you have a couple you cannot help but keep going back to the cupboard again and again to get more. They are a light snack which is good as i really hate anything too stodgy, and these are the opposite as they are a light as a feather yet still contain major yummyness. They are not expensive either, it costs around £1.50 for a packet which is extremely good value considering how nice these actually are. I really enjoy dunking jaffa cakes in a cup of tea as this makes them a little bit soggy, but they are also really nice with orange juice.
google.com is not only the most used search engine on the net but probably the most famous and most used site on the net. It is very good for searching for anything you want really. Also in more recent times there has been the addition of other bits and bobs like the brilliant google maps which is great for looking as monuments from all over the world, or maybe just your own back garden. I do sometimes find though that you do not get the information you are looking for. If you look for something that is very well known you are likely to get a sponsored link but anything a little bit different seems to bring up and old rubbish just because the page contains the words that you are after. Google is clearly a very good website with excellent other features including froogle but it can be annoying not finding what you're after.
youtube is a brilliant website where you can find virtually any video and watch it as many times as you like. I know a lot of people who use the site for watching music videos, which has caused a bit of a stir with some of the record companies who claim it is not fair on their musicians as people are getting something for free that they are supposed to be paying for. However you cannot download videos from youtube, not legitimately anyway, which mean you can only go on the site and watch the videos. You can also find a fair few viral videos that you will find and there is some hilarious videos on the site. Uploading videos to share with the world is pretty easy but can be a little time consuming but it is great to know that you are sharing you videos with the whole world.
I personally find the Paul O'Grady Show highly entertaining. I am always gutted when he is not doing his show but he can't expected to always be on TV especially considering he has had a couple of heart attacks in recent years. The show always features some good guests and although more often than not they are coming on the show to promote one thing or another that they are doing the interviews Paul does are always fun and he seems like a genuinely nice guy. I like the personal feel of the show, he does not seem to have an over-inflated ego like many celebrities that have shows on TV, and he likes to get members of the public involved with going to interview big hollywood stars and so on. He provides light entertainment when you get home from work and combines good fun with some proper interviews. Excellent.
Hollyoaks is not exactly the greatest show ever made, however it provides some good light hearted entertainment at 630 every weekday night and also highlights some important issues in society today, for example the current story line which involves a teenager being addicted to drugs. The acting is not quite oscar award winning standard but certain characters are played brilliantly, for example the pictured Warren Fox plays is a small time gangster and is portrayed brilliantly in the show. The story lines can be a little far fetched from time to time but thats probably goes with the territory as it is a soap. Also this makes great Sunday morning viewing when you are feeling a little worse for where. It can be highly entertaining and i feel that it actually relates to people which makes a change with soap's today. Not revolutionary television but Hollyoaks certainly is good for a soap.
Red Bull is a very well known energy drink that provides a boost of energy when it is most needed. A single can will cost you around 79p which is very good value. It is really good for keeping you awake during the day if you are feeling really drained. You will be left buzzing for a couple of hours and from my experience you have improved concentration. I also like to have an intake of this caffeine drink before playing rugby. It is advertised as giving you wiings and you will be left feeling really energized. However you will be left feeling somewhat worse off after the energizing effect wears off, on a number of occasions i have been left feeling pretty ill. The taste of this drink is difficult to describe, it is pretty unique to be honest. Overall this is the best energy drink on the market but you shouldn't rely on it for energy.
