I reviewed Johnson's Baby Oil here in Dooyoo as it is one of the most helpful products I have at home. When I saw the version with lavender at a price of less than £2, I got a bottle to see if it would be better than the classic baby oil. Packaging The plastic bottle is transparent with a very light shade of purple. I can clearly see what's left of the oil through it. It has a contoured bottle that helps prevent it from slipping from my hand. The paper label can be detached easily from the bottle when the oil spills through it. Johnson and Johnson's Promise For Baby *It helps seal in moisture so skin feels baby soft, silky and smooth *It is ideal for use for baby massage *Moisturizes to help soothe chafed skin *Fast-absorbing formula *Clinically-proven mild and gentle *Dermatologist and allergy-tested For Adults *Locks up to 10 times more moisture on wet skin than an ordinary lotion can in dry skin *Soothes and relieves dry, rough patches *Clinically-proven mild The Oil Johnson's baby Oil Lavender is colourless. It feels a bit greasy on my hand. I just put a drop or two on my palm as squeezing the bottle tight makes the oil run through my fingers thus making a terrible mess. For My Baby's Skin This oil moisturizes my baby's skin. I don't apply it directly to his skin when it's dry. Instead, I apply a little amount after bathing whilst it is still damp. The oil mixes with water on his skin then I pat his skin dry with towel. That way, the excess oil will be wiped out and what's left on his skin is the right amount amount of oil that moisturizes without looking so greasy. His skin becomes smooth. When I apply it directly on his skin when it's dry, it seems that he feels uncomfortable with it and his skin looks too greasy. This oil has Lavender and Chamomile scent which are known to promote good sleep. It doesn't work like a sleeping pill, of course, but I noticed that he sleeps more soundly with lesser twists and turns when he sleeps. It seems to be very mild too as my baby's skin doesn't react negatively to it.
I got this webcam as a gift from my niece when she heard that my Logitech 820 webcam started to malfunction. She told me she got it for only £12 and I was excited to use it. Who doesn't love a free item anyway even when it's a cheap one? It's not the smallest webcam I've ever seen but it's the thinnest cam that I have come across so far. It stands 5.5 inches including the stand. The width in its front is 1.25 inch and the side's width is 0.75 inch. The camera comes with a CD driver that's almost fool-proof to install. My old webcam has a separate lens cover which I lost many times but fortunately found it anywhere each time it got lost. I personally love how the lens cover of this A4Tech Viewcam Pro PK-635 works. The silver-coloured body of the webcam serves as the lens cover as well. I just have to slide it down to get the lens ready and sliding it up covers the lens. At the upper left part of the webcam is a silver button that automatically switches the camera on when pressed. A yellow light at the left side of the lens turns on when the webcam is in use. Specifications/Features: 350K Pixels Automatic white balance 10cm to infinity focus rang Supports Net Meeting Non-directional design for instant image without dead angel Snap shot button Snap shot button for install still image Lens cover for lens protection Clarity I must admit the the clarity of this cam is not that high in quality compared with my Logitech webcam. The contrast is quite poor no matter how I adjust it but it serves its basic purpose. Microphone This webcam has a built-in microphone but I can tell that the person I'm talking to doesn't hear me well due to so many "what?!" that I usually get so I always use a separate microphone that comes with my headphone during PC-to-PC conversations. For me, the only thing that compensates with the lack of video and microphone quality is its flexible stand. It can be bent to any side and I can twist it without ever lifting the camera so I don't have to move it around the computer table when I need to capture the different angles of the room. That's really great.
I bought this Bio Oil 2 months ago when a friend recommended me this one. I have a scar on my leg as a result to a cat's scratch. It was not a good idea to spend around £16 for a 200-ml bottle of a product that I was skeptical about but reading reviews on Bio Oil made me wanted to try it. I use Bio Oil on my scar day and night, massaging it for about 3 minutes. I also had a little scar on my forehead which resulted to a pricked pimple so I decided to apply it on my face. A little of the product is enough to apply on scars as it doesn't dry out easily. The oil doesn't feel and look natural on my skin. It feels sticky and greasy and it doesn't get absorbed by the skin well. The part of the skin where I applied it looks shiny for hours. I read that dermatologists don't recommend applying oil on the face as it can cause skin breakouts and it clogs the pores so I just carefully apply it on the pimple scar on my forehead and on the cat's-scratch scar on my leg. Main Ingredients: Calendula oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil, Chamomile Oil, PurCellin Oil After 2 months of using it, the scar on my forehead visibly lightened - from dark gray to a very light gray colour. Unfortunately, I haven't noticed any changes on the scar on my leg. Perhaps I need to use more to see the improvement. It has a floral scent and seems to have too much perfume in it but it smells good for me. I still recommend this product though it hasn't improved the appearance on the scar on my leg yet. The fact that it lightened the scar on my forehead after 2 months of using it proves that this Bio Oil works.
When I got my Nokia 8210 years ago, I decided to dress it up with a red colour that I loved best so I got this Nokia Xpress-on SKR-63 pack. The pack contains two Xpress-on covers, the berry red and the white one. The covers are made in sturdy plastic and glossy enough to be cleaned easily compared to some rubberized covers which could cause the dirt and dust to cling to the covers. Replacing my old Nokia 8210 mobile phone's cover was so easy. I just had to press the plastic lock at the head of the phone with my thumb nail while I slowly removed the front of the old cover, then I placed the phone's keypad at its right position to be ready for the new cover. Putting on the new Xpress-on cover was effortless. I just had to carefully put on the cover so the keys of the keypad fit perfectly through the cover's holes and I snapped the new cover to lock at the little hole of the phone's head. The Xpress-on cover made my Nokia 8210 neat and pretty. For almost a year of using it, the colour didn't fade. The only complaint I had maybe with the cover was that it didn't have a back cover. I could have fully customized my phone when a back cover with same colour was included. I had a pretty colour at the front but the back of my phone had its original black colour.
Nokia DKU 5 data cable connects the compatible mobile phone to a computer. My friend used this for her Nokia 6610i. When her phone died, she bought a Sony Ericsson unit. She gave this cable to me thinking it would work on my Nokia N70 Music Edition as it has identical interface with her 6610. DKU 5 data cable comes with a CD installer for Nokia PC Suite. The black cable is about a meter in length. A USB plug is located at one end of the cable to connect to the PC and on the other end is the mobile phone plug with 6 bronze or copper teeth. Installing the CD driver/software is very easy. Just insert the installation CD into the CD drive and it's ready to be installed. The cable must not be connected to the PC while installing the software. When it's done installing, the cable can be plugged in and you're ready to use the Nokia PC Suite. Once installed, a mobile phone icon is displayed at the lower right corner of the PC screen or the Nokia PC Suite icon appears on the desktop. I just connect the DKU 5 data cable then click an icon and I'm ready to sync my PC with my mobile phone. The following options appear upon clicking the Nokia icon on PC; backup, synchronize, connect to internet, contacts, messages, calendar, file manager, transfer music, store images, transfer videos, install application, update phone software and download maps. This USB data cable allows you to *Install Java applications/games from the PC to the phone. *Send text messages and edit the phone book and message settings of your phone. Edit and backup phone contacts. *Copy images to and from your phone and make images usable for multimedia messages or wallpapers. *Copy data or back-up data from your phone to PC or to another Nokia phone. *Synchronize the phone book, calendar and to-do notes between your phone and PC. Also with Lotus and Microsoft applications (Supports Outlook 97/98/2000/XP, Microsoft Schedule, Lotus Notes, Lotus Organizer). *Edit polyphonic ringing tones to be compatible with your phone and to transfer them to your phone *Edit and send your WAP bookmarks or update the connection sets to your phone. When transferring images, music or videos from PC to phone or from phone to PC, it's as simple as dragging and dropping the objects. The box says that this cable is compatible with Nolia 2270, 2275, 2285, 3570, 3585, 3585i, 3586, 3586i, 3588i, 5100, 5140, 6100, 6101, 6015i, 6016i, 6019i, 6200, 6220, 6225, 6610, 6800, 6820, 7200, 7210, 7250, 7250i, 7360. Well, my Nokia N70 was not on the list but it still works great. The complaint I have is that Nokia PC Suite needs constant software updates. Price: about £10 (including the CD installer) Some sellers sell the DKU 5 data cable without the CD for a much lesser price
The Packaging Avon Colour Personal Match Natural Concealer comes in a black glossy little stick. The lid is tightly locked when it's closed so I don't have to worry it would open by itself in my bag. Since the tube is glossy, it's a little difficult to take off the lid. I need to take a very tight hold of both the lid and the base to pull the lid off. So when I try to open it after applying a body lotion or anything that makes my hand sticky or slippery, I'd be needing a little help help from a little cloth. The tube that holds the concealer stick is angled and a little twist of its base pushes the concealer up to view. The Concealer The stick is odourless and I like it that way. I tried other concealers which rather smell clinical and I disagree with their scent most of the time. I like how this concealer covers my dark under-eye circles as it hides the look of restlessness. I lightly pat the stick along the circles from inside out. I gently blend it and I add some loose powder then I look fresh and rested. Manufacturer's Promise Avon Colour Personal Match Natural Concealer has innovative Precise Light technology with light-adjusting pigments making your skin look natural wherever you are. This is also a great stick for covering up blemishes. Of course it doesn't completely cover the blemishes or pimple scars but at least it lightens them more than a pressed powder does. It is very easy to apply and blends well with the skin. Price: Below £5
I bought my first Elizabeth Arden Red Door EDT about seven years ago. I love the scent but like all women, I switch brands every now and then. The Packaging For me, Red Door is very classy. The perfume has straw colour and visible enough in its transparent glass bottle. The red arched lid has Elizabeth Arden printed in the middle of a gold banner and 'Red Door' is printed on the other side of the lid. The pump spray is coloured red which matches the lid. The Perfume This perfume has a woody musky scent with a nice and fresh hint of floral smell. I don't think it has a heavy scent like what others say but I consider it rich instead. One spray per application is enough for me during the day. The fragrance doesn't last the whole day. I have to spray again after about 6 hours. Some claim that the scent lasts for a whole day on them and I don't disagree thought it doesn't last that long on me. Perhaps a perfume scent's longevity differs from skin to skin. A little more spray of this perfume makes it lovely enough to wear at night. It makes me smell neat and fresh though I sweat a lot when dancing. Key Notes Top Notes: Ylang-ylang, Vibrant Roses Middle Notes: Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Oriental Orchid, Moroccan Orange Flowers, Rich Freesia, Forest Lilies, Carnation, Wild Violets Base Notes: Sandalwood, Oakmoss, Spicey, Vetiver, Honey Although this perfume has a nice scent, I don't recommend it for young girls as they are more fit to wear sweet and citrus scent. Mature women can never go wrong with this perfume.
The Packaging Avon Glazewear Lip Lacquer comes in a glossy, thin black square case. It's pretty much smaller than what I thought it was. The case is securely locked that I couldn't open it with just one hand. Although it's a little difficult to open the case, the fact that it doesn't open itself in my bag to prevent a mess keeps me from complaining. Inside the lid is a little mirror and at the lower part of the paste is a tiny brush applicator. The Paste I call it a paste for it's thinner than a lipstick and thicker than a regular lip gloss. Whatever colour the paste appears to be, it always becomes lighter when applied on lips. I got the 'Brown Sugar' but it looks like 'Nude' (one of Avon's lipstick light shades) when applied on the lips. This lip lacquer seems to be a combination of a lipstick and a lip gloss with a nice luster and a smooth finish. I can wear it alone or over my favourite lipstick. It feels a little sticky but not too heavy on my lips. It actually feels like a lipstick but it looks more of a lip gloss. I like the shimmer it brings to my lips and the little glitters amaze me as they add up to that glossy look. What I don't like about it is that the paste sticks to the tiny brush and the handle so I would be needing a tissue to rub my fingers just to get rid of the paste after each application. This lip lacquer regularly costs about £4 but you can get it at £1.50 when on sale.
Nokia 8210 is an old black & white mobile phone which is very lightweight. It's one of the smallest phones around which measures 101mm x 44.5 mm x 17.4 mm and weighs only 79 grams. The base of the unit has headset and charger connector. At the center of its head is the power switch and at the left side is the volume adjustment button so you can adjust the sound without looking at the screen when talking. The text messaging feature of Nokia 8210 has predictive text input which supports major European languages and it can receive and send picture messages with compatible handsets. It allows you to send up to 160 characters only. The phone's memory can store up to 250 names aside from the SIM card which can be alternatively used to store names. It has infrared port for wireless transfer to compatible mobile phones and can also be used to play the classic game 'Snake' in a 2-player mode with another phone. This phone uses lithium ion battery which allows 48 hours of standby time including 2 hours of talktime and 3 to 4 hours of continuous talktime. It has basic features like calculator, clock, alarm, calendar, to-do list and voice dialing with 4 built-in games; Snake, Memory, Logic and Rotation. Nokia 8210 is undeniably old. When it was first introduced in 1998, it was the most elegant Nokia phone at that time with its small size and internal antenna. The faceplate can be easily changed and I remember dressing up mine with metallic red colour. This phone is really durable. I gave mine to my niece after about a year of using it and it powered for 5 years not to mention the countless drops on the floor. The phone's keypad has small keys and are placed so close with each other. If you have a big thumb, I recommend you test the keys if you can be comfortable writing messages on them. Nokia 8210 is a great phone if you only want the basic features such as calls and text messaging without the complications of today's modern phones. It was priced £115 about 12 years ago but it's available now for £38.
I have always trusted Stabilo Boss highlighter pens for my paper-highlighting needs. I have used many highlighters over the years but Stabilo Boss stands out for me. Stabilo Boss is an excellent highlighter. The flat sides make me hold the pen with utmost ease. The design gives my fingers total control over it. The other rounded highlighter pens don't give me much control in highlighting. There are many colours available; orange, red, pink, yellow, blue and green but I always prefer to use the yellow one. I could always go for other colours though when yellow is not available. Stabilo Boss produces brilliant, bold and flourescent colour on the paper and it does not interfere with the readability of the paper's print. The tip of the pen is wide so I only have to go over the paper's print in just one stroke to highlight it. The colour lasts longer. This highlighter pen doesn't dry out easily. I have some different colours hidden in my drawer for 3 years and they don't show signs of running out. Price: £9 for a pack of 10
My kids love Oreo Cookies as much as I do. The first time I brought home Nabisco Mini Oreo, they looked at the little cookies with awe. These cookies are small; about an inch when measured across. They are miniatures of the regular Oreos with two dark cocoa biscuits joined together by white cream and they taste exactly the same as the big ones. They are packed in a plastic tube with a resealable lid. The good thing about the small size is that my kids can put the whole cookie in their mouth thus eliminating the mess that the big ones do. They still eat these little Oreos the way they did with the regular cookies; scraping the center white cream with their teeth and eat the cookies afterwards or eat them whole. They even added a new style of eating these mini Oreos; tossing a cookie into the air and whoever catches it with his mouth gets a free cookie. Dunking these mini cookies into a glass of milk is not convenient as your fingers are more likely to be dipped too. If my kids really want to eat these mini Oreos with milk, then they would get a spoonful of milk, put a cookie on the spoon and eat it directly from the spoon.
Oreo Cookies are made by Nabisco and are packed in blue packets which are easily recognizable through their big OREO print. Oreos are cocoa biscuits which are grouped in two's and filled with white cream in the middle. Oreo Cookies don't appear to be that pleasant to eat due to their black colour but they do have great flavour. There's a light hint of bitter taste but it is immediately overpowered by the sweet taste. There are many ways to eat Oreo. You can dunk it to a glass of milk so the milk penetrates the cookie. The combination of cookies, cream and milk is a heavenly treat but I seldom eat it that way. Sometimes I separate the two cookies, scrape the white cream with my teeth and eat the cookies when I'm done eating the cream. Nutritional Facts (Per serving) Fat - 6g Sodium - 160mg Carbohydrates - 21g (Dietary Fiber 1g, Sugars 11g) Protein - 1g The problem with these delicious cookies is that I don't want to eat them outside my home. The dark-coloured biscuits get in between my teeth making them look awful. But when I'm home, I can eat 3 packets in just one sitting as these cookies really taste divine.
Palmolive Anti-Stress Aroma Therapy is a shower gel that comes in oval-shaped plastic bottle. It has a flip-top cap. The trouble with having a flip cap at the top is that when trere's only a little left of the gel, I have to turn the bottle upside down and wait for the gel to drip to the hole before I can squeeze it out. The consistency of this shower gel is just right as it is a bit thick as I like it to be. I can get the right amount of the gel without overusing it. The gel has purple colour. I personally prefer coloured gels than colourless ones so I can easily determine If I have squeezed out the right amount of gel. Upon squeezing it on my sponge, I can smell the floral scent right away. The gel creates creamy and foamy lather and a little goes a long way in cleaning my body. When the lather is gone, I add a little amount of water on the sponge, squeeze it and the sponge starts to create lather again. Palmolive Anti-Stress Aroma Therapy Shower Gel is quite gentle on my skin. It doesn't dry out my skin and it doesn't leave a sticky feeling. The scent is so lovely and not overpowering. It lingers on my skin for quite a while. It has sweet and obviously floral scent. I can't prove that this shower gel really calms me from stress but I do love the scent.
Nestle Nescafe Original doesn't have an excellent taste but it's a good alternative when I want to have my coffee in a hurry. It is an instant coffee which dissolves completely and quickly in hot water. I usually put half teaspoon of Nescafe Original in a cup, pour hot water in it (not necessarily boiling water), add sweetener and add milk if I want I want my coffee creamier. The aroma is good that it temps me to sip from the cup as soon as I smell it even without adding sugar to it yet. The strong coffee scent is just so inviting. The coffee granules are highly soluble that they dissolve right away upon contact with hot water. Nescafe Original coffee is cheaper than most premium coffee but it gives me the kick that I wanted in a coffee. It easily invigorates me in the morning. The strong taste makes it stand out among cheap coffee brands. It's good to store Nescafe Original in my home. When friends come to visit me, I can serve them hot coffee in an instant. Though the taste doesn't make them comment on how great my coffee is, it is a good instant coffee that satisfies them.
I have been using Chapstick Classic Lip Balm for years now and this is one of the things that I don't leave the house without. The Packaging ChapStick Lip Balm is very handy that I can put it in my coin purse or in my pocket without it being noticed much. I usually use the cherry scent and I sometimes use the strawberry-scented one if cherry is not available. ChapStick Classic Lip Balm container has a twister at the bottom part which can be twisted clockwise to let the lip balm pop out to the desirable amount that I prefer; then I can get it back down by twisting the twister counter-clockwise. The scent, the look and the feel on my lips I am using cherry flavor of Chapstick Lip Balm. The scent, of course, is that of cherry's. It has a light sweet scent but fades away in about a minute after application. Upon application, I have that oily or a little greasy feeling on my lips but it makes my lips feel refreshed and look glossy and moisturized. It has a very light pink shade that helps my lips not to look pale even without a lipstick. Active Ingredients * Padimate O 1.5% * White Petrolatum 44% The benefit Chapstick Lip Balm Cherry helps in preventing my lips from drying. Lips tend to get dry in any weather. Hot weather makes my lips lost its moisture and cold weather and wind makes my lips chaffed at times. Chapstick relieves cracked lips anytime. There was even a time when I used a certain lipstick that caused my lips to have tiny cracks and it was painful. I stopped using that lipstick then I used only Chapstick and in 5 days, my lips were healed. I use this before I go to sleep too to keep my lips moisturized. Price : £1.10
