I bought this product a few weeks ago as the usual exfoliating face scrub I usually buy from superdrug was out of stock so I though I would give this one ago.
The product comes in a 150ml pale peach/beige tube with a flat flip cap which is always good as it stands up so no squeezing the dregs out of the bottom. The scrub is for normal to dry skin so I was hoping it would leave my skin nourished and moisturised.
The scrub it's self is thick in texture like cream with apricot granules which look like grains of sand. The scent I couldn't distinguish, all i could say is it had a rich cream smell although my teenage son who uses this scrub to said he thinks it smells like Smarties. While using this Scrub I found that a little went a long way.
The directions recommend that you use this product once or twice a week apply to the whole body although I have used it on my face every day and it has been fine but I do make sure I don't rub too hard as the granules are quite big and can feel harsh on my skin if rubbed in to much.
I like to use Vitamin E products as it is claimed to be a antioxidant which can help to shield skin against environmental damage and premature skin ageing.
After using this product I found my skin to be quite soft but not up to the standards of the other Superdrug scrub I usually use and it doesn't smell as good either but my teenage son is really please with the results he has seen after using it a few weeks his face is much clearer no where near spot free but is certainly much better which has given my son's confidence a boost, no bad as it is currently retailing at Superdrug at £2.99
This product is also BUAV approved and comes with a 100% happiness guarantee.

I bought these Organix rice cakes as I was looking to introduce finger food to my son and I thought they provided a good alternative to chopped veg and toast.
As I was looking in my local Tesco store these caught my eye as they are from 7 months and has a no junk promise, which means there is no added salt, sugar or colourings. The product does come in a variety of flavours.
I thought this product was quite on the expensive side at £1.19 per packet but as they are specially designed for babies and only contain good ingredients and most importantly my son likes them, and last him at least a week, overall they are good value for money.
On closer inspection I noticed that the packaging is a foil bag which at the time it didn't cross my mind that my son would not eat the full packet in one go and I would have to store them in an air tight container. The bag contains 50g of rice cakes which is quite a few small rice cakes.
The rice cakes themselves are wholegrain rice coated with an apple, raspberry and blueberry juice and vanilla extract and are a perfect size for little hands. I initially thought the rice cakes might be a bit hard on my son's gums and that he may choke due to this, but I need not have worried as they seemed to melt in his mouth quite quickly.
The ingredients are as follows:
Organic Wholegrain Rice 78%
Organic Apple Juice Concentrate 14%
Organic Raspberry Juice Concentrate 4%
Organic Blueberry Juice Concentrate 3%
Organic Vanilla Extract less than 1%
Thiamin (Vitamin B1) less than 1%
My son really loves these rice cakes and eats them on a regular basis as a snack after he's been fed or they are great to take out and about to keep him entertained if he is getting bored. They are also great for sharing with his friends. The only real down side to these rice cakes is that the coating is a purple colour and can be difficult to clean off face and hands especially when out.
I first bought Garnier vitamin enriched scrub as it was on special offer in Superdrug, buy two for £3.99 or one for £4.03 I usually use Superdrugs own brand but at this price I just had to try it.
The scrub comes in a 150ml light green tube which stands on its top making it easier when coming to the end to squeeze out. The first thing I noticed about this scrub was the lovely fresh and fruity smell which I found invigorating. The scrub is easily squeezed out and is a creamy texture and white with green micro particles in colour. I gently rubbed the product into my face, I say gently as the only down side to this product is it can feel abrasive on your skin if you rub it in to vigorously. This product is easily rinsed off leaving no residue on my skin. I use this product every day as I have combination skin and am prone to spots so I have to exfoliate daily to keep them under control.
Garnier has a skin naturals philosophy:
* Use whenever possible, naturally derived active ingredients, which have been carefully extracted to preserve their quality and purity.
* Have been formulated and dermatology tested to ensure effectiveness and respect for your skin.
I found that after using this scrub my skin feels so soft, nourished and purified due to the added grape water and vitamin E. I will be buying this product on a regular basis from now on as I just love it.

I have in the last couple of months been trying to reduce my food bill and came across Asda Smart Price cheese spread, which I must say is one of the cheaper products that I have tried and turned out to be just as good if not better than it's more expensive counterparts.
The spread comes in a tub with the usual unattractive Smart Price green and white design. The tub contains 150g of cheese spread and currently retails in Asda at £0.43. The round tub the spread comes in is made of plastic with a lid, to get to the spread you have to first remove the lid and then the foil which covers the cheese so that you can be sure that it is safe and hygienic
The cheese spread looks exactly like any other brand of cheese spread it's a creamy white in colour and surprisingly it smell just like cheese, it contains no artificial colours or flavours which is a big plus for me as my kids love it, it is also suitable for vegetarians. The texture of the cheese is smooth and creamy which makes it suitable for even my 9 month old baby not chance of choking and counts towards his dairy/calcium intake.
This is such a versatile product which I have used in a variety of ways for example you can spread on sandwiches, toast, crackers, I have mixed it into mash and cauliflower for the kids, I have also mixed it into pasta with a bit of milk to make a lovely creamy cheese sauce.
I think this product is great value for money and I always have a tub on stand by in the fridge as it is quick and easy to make delicious meals using this spread, which is a must for me.
I have use this product for many years now and think it is one of the best eye mousses around, It comes in comes in a variety of colours
I usually buy the colour lilac but they didn't have it in stock in my local Boots and they don't seem to have it on their web site so maybe they have stopped making it in that colour, so I picked up the closest colour which was pewter.
The product is hypo-allergenic and comes in a 5ml squeezable tube which is the same colour as the mousse it contains, it also has a screw top the same colour as the tube which the tube can stand up on meaning the mousse is always at the bottom and easily squeezed out. When stood up the tube is approx 67mm high.
On the front of this product it has in gold writing the Boots No7 logo along with the words Stay Perfect Eye Mousse, It also states it is hypo-allergenic. On the back all the writing is in gold and says "Soft mousse-like cream glides on for a luminous sheer veil of continuous colour", it also has the colour of the product and the Boots web site address: www.boots.com.
I like the way that when you buy this product and unscrew the top it has a silver foil covering the opening which must be removed before use so you know other people haven't been using it as a tester in store before you buy it.
I find this product very easy to apply, I use a very small amount on my finger and apply to my eye lid, the mouse glides on leaving a shimmery light feel and look, if you wanted a more dramatic look you could just apply more turning it from a day to night look. This mousse lasts me a long time although it is only a small tube I find I only have to apply it sparingly to get the desired look and it does last me all night, the only down side is that by the end of the night it can look slightly creased on my eye lid, but it is not at all noticeable.
This product currently retails at £9.00 for 5ml. I bought this with a Boots No7 £5.00 off voucher making it only £4.00. I have never bought this product at full price, although I would highly recommend it to anyone and it does last a long time, I just can't justify £9.00 on such a small tube.

I'm on a bit of an economy drive and bought this product as it was on offer for 99p although it's currently on the Superdrug website for £1.39 which works out at £6.95 per 100g.
The product comes in a round tin approximately 45 mm in diameter and contains 20g. The tin is pink with "the little pink tin" in white writing along with the Superdrug star logo; it also states it has SPF 15. There is writing on the side of the tin "Lip therapy SPF 15 balm". On the back it says "moisturises, softens and sooths dry and cracked lips. With SPF 15 for extra protection", along with a list of ingredients and the Superdrug address.
I usually use another make of lip balm but decided to try this as it was on offer, I use this product every day and find it really does stop my lips from getting dry / chapped and sore especially as I use it every night before bed. This product is also vital part of my make up bag being used for a variety of purposes such as being applied under lipstick / mixed with eye powder ect. I usually have two of these tins on the go at once, I have one in my hand bag and one in my make up bag. The tin is a great size to fit in even the smallest of bags or even your pocket.
The main ingredient of this product is petroleum jelly and is clear and off white in colour, it has a very faint sweet smell to the product. The product is also suitable for use by vegetarians and vegans.
The only negatives of this product is that the lid can be quite hard to get off at times and I can easily loose the tin in my handbag and spend what seems like ages emptying everything out to find it, although this could be remedied by getting a smaller bag and not collecting so much junk to carry around.
My Pal Scout is a 12" tall plush puppy in green and white, it can also be purchases in purple and white called My Pal Violet. Scout is made form lovely soft huggable fabric and even thought it has the battery compartment, USB port, and power / volume switch securely hidden inside and kept in place by a Velcro fastening it is still an ideal toy for a little one to take to bed.
One of the biggest attractions for me was the fact that Scout can be personalised with your child's name, favourite food, colour and animal and you can choose five songs for Scout to sing from up to 30 online, these can be changed at a later date as your child grows. To customise you do need internet connection, I found personalising Scout fairly easy as the instructions that are supplied are easy to follow and it took me about 15 minutes. If you did not have internet connection you can use the pre loaded songs and phrases which are great to.
To interact with Scout you press his paws which all have a different symbol on them which coincide with that particular paws function
* Lower bottom paw - a red circle with a vertical line, is the on off button.
* Upper left paw - a green musical note plays songs / rhymes.
* Lower right paw - a blue moon and stars plays 2 minutes of bedtime music / lullabies.
* Upper right paw - a purple tennis ball says numerous phrases like "I'm happy show me your biggest smile".
The only downside of the personalisation is that you have to put in your child's favourite colour, animal and food and as my son was only six months old when he received this I had to make these up but as stated previously these can easily be changed at a later date, another problem with this is the choices of names available on the website, my son has a fairly common name so we were ok with this but if your child has a unusual name this could be a problem, although there are suggestions for nicknames on the website.

Scout is recommended from 6 months to 3 years, which is why my mum purchased him for my 7 month old son for Christmas. Although it is recommended from 6 months I feel my son will get more benefit from this product as an educational toy when he is a bit older at the moment he just likes to listen to the music and watch scouts name tag light up blue in time with music.
This product requires 3 AAA batteries which have to be replaced by using a screwdriver. The batteries that came with the product are still going strong in the Scout we received a Christmas which has had moderate use.
My Pal Scout can be purchased from most toy stockists but can be purchased on Amazon for £19.40.
Overall I think this was a fantastic purchase although my son will get more benefit from the educational side of this toy when he is older as at the moment he is too young to play Scouts "Guess what I am" games and "If your happy and you know it clap your paws", but he does like to laugh at me singing along to the songs and doing all the actions.
The only down side is the fact it isn't machine washable.
Arabian glow bronzing pearls from Avon is one of the few beauty products I buy again and again as I have yet to find another that is as good.
The product comes in a round plastic pot that contains 22g. Inside the pot there is a round sponge that keeps the pearls in place so they don't get shaken about in the pot and fall apart if you carry them around in your handbag, therefore they last longer. I currently have over half left and I last purchased this product about four months ago, although I don't use it every day. The pot it's self arrives in a small cardboard box.
The pearls are about pea size and come in three shades;
* Pale pink/peach.
* Pink/pale brown.
I use this bronzer after applying foundation, I use a large dusting brush and start by applying a light dusting all over my face, neck and shoulders to give a nice glow, I then apply again over my forehead, nose and cheeks and depending on the season I may build up a bit more colour on my cheeks.
I have fair skin and find this is a perfect product for me as you can build up the colour to suite every skin tone. The Avon web site states that it has light-reflective pigments that help create a warm, healthy looking glow, which is an accurate statement, I find that it leaves a slight shimmer/glittery look to my skin.
The only down side I can find with this product is that when using it you have to be careful not to spill the pearls which can be easier said than done, as I find they seem to hide in the brush then fall on the floor or your clothes and if you don't spot them they can be trodden into carpets or rubbed into clothes, although this is the same with most if not all bronzing pearls I have used.
These pearls currently retail on the Avon web site for £4.50 as they are on sale, there usual price is £9.00.
Peepo Baby! Is a children's board book by Georgie Birkett. This book has five double pages of peepo fun with big chunky flaps that little ones will love to turn. Each double page consists of a picture of a baby playing peepo, for example the first page has a baby looking through a car window with the words "Who's behind my big blue car?" where when you turn the flap shaped like a car you find a picture of a teddy and the words "Peepo Teddy! There you are".
We got this book free through the bookstart scheme but it is currently for sale on Amazon for £3.99.
I find my son likes me to read this book to him, and as he is only six months old I help him to turn the flaps and pages. He particularly likes the bright contrasting colours. I find this book especially good to read just before nap time, as it seems to help my son to settle down just before he has a sleep.
Although this is a board book with well rounded corners so no paper cuts and easily wiped clean when little ones decide to have a chew, I feel the pages and flaps are bit too thin and could easily be bent out of shape or completely ripped out when my son is a little older and playing / reading on his own.
I would have liked the book to also have some textures for the younger ones to feel and explore but overall I think this book is an excellent addition to any child's bookshelf.
I first bought Tesco Value fragranced nappy bags a couple of years ago for our new addition to the family, yes I'm talking about our pooch. I bought these to pick up his doggy poop as I found they were much cheaper than official dog poop bags and the have a lovely nice fragrance, although they don't mask the smell of dog poop and they are quite transparent so you can see what is being carried around the park whilst looking for the nearest bin.
These bags come in a white plastic bag on the front it has the Tesco Value logo on, a picture of a smiling baby sitting up and in blue writing Nappy Bags 300 Fragranced bags, on the back is the usual warnings and directions for use. The bags themselves have a light fragrance are a pale green in colour and are approximately 285mm x 310mm this includes the handles.
This product currently retails at 35p for a pack of 300 which makes them 0.11 per bag, which I think is great value for money.
Since I started buying these bags I have gone on to have a baby and use them to dispose of his numerous nappies after every change, I have found these bags to be a convenient and hygienic way to dispose of soiled nappies. As with the dog poop I have found that even though the bags are lightly scented it is not enough to mask the smell of baby poop especially if it is left in an indoor bin few a few hours.
These bags are so easy to use, I pull one out of the pack being careful only to pull one out as some times more come out, after I have changed my son's nappy and placed the soiled nappy and any wipes that I have used into a bag, I then tie the handles together and place into the bin.
The Fisher Price story rhymes book is Fisher Price's usual sturdy plastic construction; it is marketed for children 6-36 months. I bought this as part of a set for my son who is 6 months and he loves to listen to the six different rhymes.
This product is not just to entertain my son it also introduces him to letters, numbers, colours, shapes and greetings.
This book is plastic with a green book worm in the middle with a red nose that lights up and says "hello" when pressed. There are also 3 learning buttons down the bookworm's body that can be pressed.
The buttons are;
* Top one is red with blue numbers on, when pressed it says the number of animals, cakes, boats ect that are included in that particular pages rhyme.
* The middle button is blue with a lighter blue letters on, when pressed it gives examples of the letters A, B, C that are included in that particular pages rhyme.
* The bottom button is yellow with 3 shapes on, a blue circle, a green triangle and a red square, that when pressed gives examples of those 3 colours that as above are included in that particular pages rhyme.
The book worm stands on a blue base that contains the on / off switch and 2 sound settings. The book contains four thick plastic pages in different colours that have a sticker covering each side of them with a different rhyme and related picture on each one.
The rhymes are;
* I went to the animal fair.
* The ants go marching.
* Row, row, row your boat.
* One, two, buckle my shoe.
* Hickory, Dickory dock.
* Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake.
As you turn the pages of the book the bookworm opens its arms which light up above the page that is currently playing making it easy for my son to know which page / rhyme is playing so that he can follow the words once he's a bit older.
The book requires 3 AAA (RO3) 1,5V alkaline batteries that can be changed by unscrewing the bottom of the blue base.
I have found that this product is a bit heavy for my son to hold by himself at 6 months, as he likes to throw things about and I worry he could hurt himself if not supervised by hitting himself on the head, although a plus point is the pages of the book are rounded so no sharp corners.
I also found that the sticker on one of the pages has an air bubble under it so wonder just how long these stickers on the pages will last as my son likes to chew / slobber on everything.
Although as mentioned there a few negatives with this product I feel that most of them are down to my son only being 6 months old and believe as he get older he will get more enjoyment out of this product, but at the moment he his more than happy to turn the pages, listen to the music and watch the lights as I sing along to the rhymes with him.
I bought this moses basket as I was looking for something gender neutral but wanted the nursery in bright colours as a think the usual cream / brown is uninteresting and dull for a baby who is discovering the world around them.
This basket really looks the part and every one who visited commented on how lovely, bright and unusual it was. The basket it self is made of corn husk and has two handles attached one at either side for carrying, the mattress is wipe clean, the hood can be adjusted and it comes with a little duvet.
My son used this basket from birth until he was nearly 3 months old as he is quite a chunky monkey he could no longer fit into it, but the Mothercare website recommends from - 3/4 months or until baby can pull him/herself up right.
The basket is dressed in 100 percent cotton which is white and covered in jungle characters in orange, yellow, blue and green. It has 3 plush toys hanging from the hood two shaped like little pumpkins one in orange and one in blue, and a multicoloured parrot in the middle. My son loved to look at the parrot and as he got older he would talk to it and try to grab hold of it, it kept him entertained for a while.
I found the duvet supplied was too small, I wasn't able to cover my son and tuck him in, and so my son could kick it off far too easily, so I ended up using other blankets.
The biggest down side for me was the hood, it would keep falling down even with it tightened by two little plastic knobs either side of it. This happened more often as my son got bigger, he would thrash about in it more, causing the hood to fall down, he would then get upset as he couldn't see the plush toys.
I did not buy the matching stand to go with the basket as I found they where all similar and bought a cheaper version so I am unable to comment on how easy it would be to set up on the matching stand.
I love this product, I used to have to wash my hair every day and now I can get away with washing it every two to three days if I use this dry shampoo to refresh my hair in between washes. My hair looks so much healthier as I don't have to use the damaging straightness every day.
The product comes in a purple aerosol can containing 150ml and smells great, Batistie do various varieties but this is my favourite. The average cost of this product is £1.99 and worth every penny.
The product works by getting rid of oily roots therefore making hair look revitalised and giving it extra volume with one quick squirt.
It's so easy to use, just shake the can, hold it away from your hair and spray giving even coverage, run fingers through your hair and then brush out, it takes less than a minute and your good to go.
Here comes the down side of this product, I find if I use too much it can leave a powder like texture on my hair and can leave white marks on dark clothing. Even so I have recommended this products to friends and family.
When it comes to buying moisturiser I often buy whatever happens to be on offer but I do keep coming back to Simple as I have yet to find a better product for the price which is approximately about £3.00.
The product comes in a white and green 125ml squeezable bottle, with a flip cap, so no searching around for a screw cap when you have put it down somewhere. The moisturiser is very thin so easily absorbed into your skin and leaves no greasy / oily residue. It leaves your skin feeling moisturised, nourished and feeling soft all day as the packaging states and is great to wear under make up, even in the warmer weather.
I love Simple products as they have no harsh chemicals, perfume, colour or unnecessary ingredients added to them, and they also contain vital vitamins and skin loving nutrients so they are perfect for sensitive skin like mine.
Then only down side to this product is as the lotion its self is so thin if you have any dry / cracked areas of skin then it doesn't seem to make as much difference as a thicker lotion might.
What can I say, this is one of my favourite beauty products of all time, and it's a great all rounder that the whole family can use (men and women), it comes in a small 20g pocket / handbag sized tin and as it's usually priced at around 99p it's the cheapest product in my make up bag.
I use mine mostly on my lips to act as a barrier from the elements to stop them drying out so they stay kissable and looking healthy. It looks just as good if not better on my lips than some of the expensive lip glosses you can buy and it usually lasts longer.
I recently had a cold and ended up with a sore nose that was red, dry and cracked I put some of this product all around my nose before I went to bed and the next morning it was a hundred times better.
I have also used it as a moisturiser on dry patches of skin on my hands and elbows.
Although the product comes in a small tin it lasts me for months as you only use a small amount each time.
It comes in round tin containing 100 percent petroleum, the only fault I have found is that the top of the tin is some times hard to open especially if it's a new tin.
