I have recently moved into a new flat and have had plenty of fun buying things to make it look nice. The colour scheme in my kitchen was red and black so when I saw this I just had to have it. I will say that it is quite expensive with an rrp of £59.99 but if you shop around you will find that many places have it on offer. I was lucky enough to find mine on Amazon for just £33.
It is quite large, as I guess you would expect from a four slice toaster. The sides are polished stainless steel and the front and back are a gorgeous dark shiny red with four black rubber non-slip feet on the bottom. There are two sets of controls, each operating two slices. On each side there is a large stainless steel dial which goes from 1 to 9 which controls the heat and three buttons which are cancel, reheat and cook from frozen. The lever used to push down the bread also has a high lift facility which makes it easier to remove smaller items. It certainly looks expensive and has all the functions you could want.
There are removable crumb trays on each side which makes it easy to clean. I find this brilliant as I hate having crumbs everywhere every time I move the toaster to clean!!
It doesn't only look good and have lots of functions, it makes great toast too! I only like my toast lightly browned so I tend to set my toaster to between 3 and 4 and it's perfect. As the dial goes up to 9 this obviously means that there is plenty of room to increase the heat level for those who like their toast cooked a little more.
I would definitely recommend this toaster but I would say that you should shop around for a bargain like I did!
I bought my 15 inch MacBook Pro around 18 months ago and I haven't regretted it for a second. I had always used windows computers and was fed up of getting viruses (even when using anti virus software) so when my toshiba laptop had it's hard drive wiped by a virus I decided to make the investment and buy a Mac. I was a little nervous about spending so much money on a laptop when I could pick up another windows laptop for around £200-£300 but I'd heard nothing but good reviews about the MacBook pro so I went ahead.
I bought it just after christmas and I will say that I was a little bit disappointed as apple seemed to be the only company who weren't offering any kind of discount in the January sale.
I went for the most basic 15 inch as I only use my laptop enough to justify spending the extra money on a more advanced version.
It has a very sleek modern appearance, a thin silver shell with a light up apple of the front. The keys are black with white letters/symbols and there is an option to light up the keyboard which is handy if you are in a dark room. The touch pad is quite large which is an advantage and it is also very sensitive, so it always does exactly what you want it to the first time (I have previously had laptops with a touch pad that you have to make several attempts and press very hard for it to work). The keyboard is very easy to type on. The keys are well spread out so you do not accidentally hit 2 keys at the same time. I did find it slightly difficult to get used to the American layout but now it's second nature.
Brilliant sound and picture quality. Easy to use. Fast. Haven't had any viruses yet and don't even have any anti-virus software so I'm very impressed.
Battery lasts for around 4 or 5 hours when not in charge which is great.
I really don't have anything bad to say about this laptop.
I have the iPhone 3GS and they work so well together, I sync all of my contacts, music, photos and calendars very quickly and easily.
If you are having the same windows or apple thoughts as I had then I would definitely recommend you go for apple. I will never go back to using a windows PC.
What does a kettle do other than boil water? Nothing really...as long as it does that then I think it's a pretty good product.
I was looking for a new kettle and spent hours deciding what I should buy. There were so many that looked nice, lovely colours, modern designs, different functions but all came at a price. Looking at a few which cost £50 plus I realised that it was a little silly to spend so much money on an appliance which just boils water, so when I saw this kettle I was intrigued.
There is nothing outstanding about its appearance, it is just a white jug kettle. Priced at £4.78 I decided to buy it since even if it didn't work or only lasted a few weeks it seemed like a very small amount of money to waste. I am pleased to say that this was two years ago and my kettle is still doing its job. Just goes to show that you don't always get what you pay for
I really don't know how I lived without sudocrem!! I first started using it about 5 years ago when a friend recommended it for a spot that I wanted to get rid of quickly. I was told to put a little bit onto the area before I went to bed and that by the morning the size and redness of the spot would be significantly reduced....they were right!!
I was a little sceptical at first as Sudocrem is advertised as a cream for Nappy rash, eczema and bed sores and I had none of these, but it worked. In fact I now use it for all sorts of things. Spots, shaving rash, dry skin, eczema....pretty much any skin disorder.
It comes in a large tub and you only need to apply a tiny bit so it lasts for ages. Great value for money, much better than most products aimed at getting rid of spots.
This jelly is good enough to eat!!I am an absolute lush addict and as I expected, I wasn't disappointed with this jelly.
It really does look like jelly that you eat, only glittery. The smell is gorgeous, a lovely blackcurrant fruity smell. I comes in two sizes, a 100g pot for £2.85 or a 240g pot for £5.70. I would recommend buying the bigger pot as you'll definitely be wanting more, although the smaller option is an advantage for anyone who is unsure and doesn't want to waste too much money.
The pots are part of the lush offer of "bring back 5 clean Lush pots and get a Fresh Face Mask free" which is both environmentally friendly and a great reward for loyal customers.
The jelly claims to "leave your skin smelling tropical and feeling fabulously softened". I haven't noticed a massive difference in the softness of my skin but the smell is certainly fabulous.
At first it is quite tricky to use. It says it is suitable for the bath or shower but when I first started to use it I would spend ages chasing it around the bath or dropping it on the floor in the shower but after a while I got used to it. You only need a small amount and as soon as it gets wet it lathers really well. This means that the pot lasts for ages so it is really good value for money.
I love this product. I always have a large pot in my bathroom!!
I have very dry and sensitive skin, even if I miss just one day of moisturising my skin seems to get very dry very quickly. I spent months testing different products but couldn't find the perfect one to suit my skin type. A friend who has similar skin to mine recommended that I try this one so I decided to give it a go.
I found it in a local boots store, I thought it seemed a little expensive £4.79 for 400ml, it was certainly more expensive than most other moisturisers that boots had on offer. Fortunately it was on a 3 for 2 deal so I didn't actually pay for the product.
The bottle is white with blue writing, typical of dove products which make it easy to recognise.
After just two days of using this there was a noticable change in the texture of my skin. It was much softer and smoother and I had no more of the scaly dry patches that I'd had previously. It also has a lovely smell, not too overpowering but I can often smell it throughout the day.
I do find that it does take some time to soak into the skin so you need to wait a while before getting dressed once you've used it but it is worth the wait to see the results. I think that it is moisturising enough to use on dry skin but not too greasy to use on normal skin either.
I would definitely recommend this product.
I first bought this product about a year ago. I'd just started using an epilator instead of a razor and found that no matter how much I exfoliated I would still get ingrown hairs. I was about to go on holiday so obviously wanted to get rid of them as they're not very attractive and after trying many other products I found this in boots.
At first I thought it seemed a little expensive at £11.21 for 120ml but I decided it was worth a try. It looked like a very professional product.
After reading the instructions (you apply it to cotton wool and dab it on to the required area) I decided to give it a go. I used it on my bikini line, before I'd even put it to my skin I noticed the smell. It's not particularly pleasant and it's a very strong smell. I continued to use it regardless, when it first touched my skin it stung like mad but I thought this may be a good thing as it could mean that it was doing it's job....and it did! It cleared up my ingrown hairs within a few days, no red marks left, like they'd never been there. Obviously I was over the moon and I've been using this product ever since. It can be used to prevent ingrown hairs but as it's quite expensive I find that it's been to use it to treat them as you get them as it works very quickly anyway.
I would recommend shopping around online for this product because I have found it on a few websites for a lower price than boots sell it. Although boots do often have good offers on so I tend to stock up on it then even if I don't need it.
I was bought this tv as a gift for christmas. I'm a student living in a shared house so it was brilliant to have something as slim and sleek as this as my old chunky tv took up far too much room!!
I find matsui to be a very reliable brand. My old tv was also matsui, I'd had it for years and never had a problem with it. The only reason I changed it really was because it was easier with the digital switchover. As I expected, matsui didn't disappoint with this model either. I pick up a great selection of channels using just a cheap plug in aerial, the picture and sound quality is excellent and having the built in dvd player is very handy!
It has a lovely sleek appearance. It's black and shiny and looks far more expensive than it really is. The buttons are hidden at the top so they don't spoil the appearance when you look at it from the front. It comes with a stand which is useful, or can be wall mounted.
Overall I am really pleased with this tv. In fact the only negative thing I would say is that for some reason, when it is on dvd mode the sound is a lot lower than on normal tv mode....I'm not sure why this is but it's really not that much of a problem, although it can make you jump a little if you forget to turn the volume down again before putting it back onto tv mode!!
I have been dying my hair blonde for a few years now but I always got a friend to do it for me because I didn't trust myself to do it. I saw this foam hair dye advertised and fancied giving it a try. I already use all John Frieda products on my hair, I have thick, unruly hair that gets frizzy very easily and use their frizz ease range daily so it is a brand that I trust.
The foam was so easy to use that I managed to do it all myself. I really don't think you could go wrong. As long as all of your hair is covered and you've used the entire bottle then you should be fine!
I was impressed with the quality of the gloves that came with the colour, they are lots thicker and more protective than the gloves that came with most dyes I have tried in the past so this kept the process relatively mess free.
It's also much quicker both to apply and to develop. I only had to wait 20 minutes to see the results, which was lucky as I was so nervous that I'd ruined my hair.
I was really pleased with the results. A really nice colour that really lasts. I first used it around 4 weeks ago and the colour doesn't seem to have faded at all. I can't wait to buy my next one!
It's high quality as you would get in salons but much cheaper and you can do it in the comfort of your own home when it suits you.
I have to warn you before I start that Rimmel nail polish is highly addictive. The first rimmel nail polish I bought was a shade called orange bliss, that was last summer and now there are not many shades that I don't have!
I'm no expert at applying nail varnish, I always tend to end up with as much over my fingers as I do on my nails but the brush with this nail varnish made it so easy to apply. It is quite wide so one stroke down the middle of your nail and you're almost done!
It dries very quickly too so if you're impatient like me you don't have to wait for ages before you can carry on with your day
I also find that it lasts quite a while. Normally when I apply nail polish it's chipped by the following day but this tends to last a good 3-4 days before it starts to chip away. I would recommend applying Rimmels top coat aswell as this helps to prevent the chipping and gives a lovely smooth finish.
You do need to be careful with how much polish you have on your brush though. If you have too much polish on the brush this sometimes causes it to smudge which is a little bit annoying and ruins the look.
It is surprisingly inexpensive for the quality. Normally around £5-£6 each and they can often be found on special offer. I know boots regularly have 3 for 2 offers on them
I've had my iPhone 3GS for almost two years now and haven't experienced any problems with it at all! Most of the phones I've had previously have developed some kind of problem after a year or so but the iPhone seems built to last.
There really isn't a lot that you can't do on the iPhone. There is a huge variety of apps available, enabling you to do so many things like shopping, gaming, social networking, all of which seem to be quite reasonably priced.
My iPhone makes my life so much easier, I no longer need to take out my diary or ipod as it's all on my phone!!
One of very few negative things I would say about the iPhone 3GS is the camera. For a smartphone with so many features it seems to have a very low quality camera with no flash. The photos look fine on the phone but if you put them on your laptop or want them printed they are very poor quality.
I have the 16gb iPhone and there is definitely more than enough memory for everything that I need. I have over 100 photos stored and around 4.5-5 hours worth of music and there is still plenty of memory free!
It's great for accessing the internet when you're out and about with 3G and wifi connections available, I am hooked. I can't put it down, I'm constantly checking emails or facebook....another negative thing...you spend far too much time with it in your hand! :)
I have tried many other smartphones but I cannot find one that is as good all round as the iPhone. Can't wait for the release of the iPhone 5!!
I saw this nail varnish advertised in a magazine and have to say I was intrigued. I finally managed to track one down (as it was extremely popular and hard to find) and couldn't wait to try it. When I first tried it I painted my nails with an orangey colour first and then put the BarryM Instant Nail Effects over the top. I loved the results, it looked almost like leopard print!! I had so many comments on it, I was really surprised at how many people noticed. I have to admit, not all of the comments were positive. Although, many of my friends who hated it at first now also have the nail varnish and wear it more often than I do.
I would say that you need to be careful when you put it on. If you have too much nail varnish on the brush it doesn't dry as it's meant too and you just end up with one black nail.
I think it's a cool, quirky trend. Good if you're looking for something a little bit different to the usual one colour but I don't think I'd be using it all the time. Looks a bit odd over certain colours and feels really rough to touch.
This camera is the best! I wanted this from the first time I saw it advertised. I was fed up of coming home from a night out and having photos of half a head or a finger over the lens so the LCD screen on the front of this camera was a massive attraction for me.
At 12 mega pixels you get excellent quality photographs or videos and a wide variety of settings to choose from (e.g lighting or surrounding settings). I wouldn't be without it!
The battery life is also impressive. I have not yet taken this camera to an event and had the battery run flat...this is very good as I tend to take lots of photos and spend lots of time looking back over photos that I have taken.
I was also lucky enough to buy it when it was half price!!!
Unfortunately, when I first bought this camera I had to send it back due to there being black marks on the main LCD screen, I was told this was a fault with the lens. Samsung were fantastic though and sent me a replacement camera with no hassle!
Overall I would give this camera 10/10. Stylish design and perfect photos
