Manchester United is simply full of talented players and a very excellent manager. They can even form two seperate teams and still, both can play at Premiership level. This is so evident in today's match (21/10/00) vs Leeds United. Ferguson merely named an understrength team by resting Beckham, Giggs, Cole, Sheringham and yet players like Butt, Fortune, Solskjaer, Yorke created havoc in Leeds area. Look at the statistics, in terms of possession, goal attempts, shot on targets, Leeds is simply no where near Man United. The match ended up 3-0. This score margin is with the fact that the in-form Leeds goalkeeper, Robinson made numerous excellent saves. Without him, there would have been 7-8 goals. True that Leeds is down with lots of injuries, but bear in mind that Man United is understrength. And Leeds is not exactly a bashing team but a title contender at the beginning of the season. At the way Man United is playing and if they keep it up, it is not impossible that they will repeat their treble again. That of course sometimes comes with a little bit of luck. The way Man Utd play can sometimes give you a heart-attack. No wonder they are named the the come-back king. The recent comeback was staged last Wednesday vs PSV. PSV equalised with 15 mins to go. Man Utd simply have the composure to comeback. Remember how they made a superb comeback to win the treble?? Matches like vs Liverpool, Arsenal (FA Cup) and Juventus and Bayern Munich (European). In a way, it gives excitement as the match becomes more interesting. Well Done, United
I have only all praises for this restaurant especially its lunch buffet. It has a wide selection of food at 6.50 pounds perperson. The restaurant is normally packed to capacity. This simply shows how popular the restaurant is. Therefore it is advisable to book a place first. The drink however is not free. So in addition to the food, you will hace to pay for the drink. In addition, there are also a variety of sweets and dessert such as cheesecakes, ice-cream, fruits, toffee apples and bananas. If you have never visited this place, give it a try and i'm sure you will not regret it.
If you are buffet lover, try this restaurant... the Thai buffet at 6.50 pounds perhead. Eat as much as you can. Hot dishes include chicken, duck, ribs, pork, and veg. On different day, there are different special dishes. Also, there are soup, dessert, fruits and salads. Unfortunately, you will ahve to pay for the drinks. In most restaurants which offer buffet, they serve chinese tea for free. however, you will have to pay for this restaurant. Give it a try and i think it worth the 6.50 pounds especially when you are a big-eater ...*grin*
For best dim sum, visit Tai Pan. Unfortunately, it is not located in the China Town. Therefore, if you come from outside Manchester, you may have difficulties finding it. It is so popular that it is always packed to capacity, especially during the weekend. It has the widest variety of dim sum. If you are a dim sum lover, you should not miss this. The style of serving is verylike typical dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong whereby there are waiters/ waitresses pushing the dim sum trollies around the restaurant. To order, simply stop the waiters and waitresses and choose your dim sum. Unfortunately, it's quite expensive, but the good food justify the high cost.
A glimpse of the restaurant from outside will normally put you off. It's unattractive, to be honest. That was also why I have never thought of giving it a try. But one day, I went into this restaurant as my friend insist. The interior is totally different from the outer appearance. It's not that spectacular but then it's respectable. The best of all was perhaps when the bills came. It cost oly about 6-7 pounds perperson that in order restauran, it could easily cost you 9-10 pounds. The food is quite good but nothing is special. Have been student's favourite restaurant due to its cheaper price.
No doubt it covers most of the topic u can ever think of, but is that the only thing you expect from an encyclopedia?? The answer may be yes if the encyclopedia is a hard-copy but the CD encyclopedia is a bit disappointing. I do not complain of the the content, but I am disappointed with its visual aids. I have been expecting a lot of pictures, videos and animations as these are the things that give the clearest idea on any topic. Unfortunately, the animation is mostly on solar system. This is generally true as a normal person would rather see pictures than to read.
Raimond Van Der Houw has been very loyal to Manchester United Club. Imagine playing second choice goalie to a number of goalkeeper such as Peter Schmeichel, Mark Bosnich and now Fabien Barthez, he still remains with the Manchester United. Yes, you may argue, his age may be the limiting factor for him to go further, but at this age, he is still a terrific player. Yes, he does not go on football pitch that often... but when he's on football pitch, he has been playing well. It is not easy for a goalie who has not been playing regularly but still can maintain this standard. There is no doubt whatsoever that thus Alex Ferguson name him as the second choice goalie ahead of Mark Bosnich. Well done, MU loyalist....
Dialpad.com is the first internet service I used to call to USA. The first time I heard about it, I was very impressed at this free service. I was wondering why this excellent service is free... only to find out that this is their way of advertising.Without delay, I gave it a try. Now, there are lots of such service in the net, but I still find dialpad.com the best. Firstly, there very little lagging (delay) and you can talk as comfortably as you are talking through phone. Secondly, the connection to the site server is very pad. Thirdly, the pad is user-friendly. Besides offering PC-to-phone service (USA only), it does offer PC-to-PC service (anywhere in the world). Hopefully in the future, PC-to-mobile is available.
This game show may have started in July but I just get to know it not long ago. Normally I do not bother anything about this. But when story of how cunning Nick is tempted me to watch that show. OK.. lets get to the point... in real life, that character is definitely despised by people as was shown in the house itself. But on the other hand, this makes the Big Brother show more popular!.... That sometimes make me wonder if Nick is sent by Channel 4 just to spice things up. The remaining tenants do not exactly look like normal people as well. They look more actors than normal human being. If they really are normal people, I wonder how can they stand more than 2 months being monitored by public 24 hours a day! So, why are they doing so if not because of 70 000 pounds?? That is what prompt Nick to commit such an act as he described himself as someone who has to constantly compete to gain success.
I can't wait for the match between the Man City and Man United to see how the former will perform against a world class club. Man City has made a dramatic comeback to the Premiership, gaining promotion in two successive years. Will it be ambitious for Man City to continue this success by toppling Man Utd to be crowned as the new Premiership champion? To be realistic, at this moment, they should fight to stay in Premiership, and slowly building the team. Their ambition is however high, judging from the way they are spending, bringin former World Player of the Year, George Weah and Paolo Wanchope to sharpen their attack. Unfortunately, football is about teamwork, a good player does not make a difference is the rest do not play well. After the agonising defeat by Charlton in the opening match, Man City really needs to find solution to their poor defence. There was a numerous occasion in which Man City tried to lay offside traps, but instead they backfired as there was no organised teamwork. Secondly, there was nobody who can pass ball to Weah, without which can never allow Weah to execute his deadly finishing. It will be interesting to see if Man City can stay in the Premiership. Prove me wrong, Man City!!
Well, after I have been to so many wonderful places, I think Geneva is not worth going. Firstly, there is not much thing to see there. Secondly, the cost of living is expensive. However, if you somehow do visit Geneva, there is a number of places worth going. The one that you will not miss is Lake Geneva. It's a very nice and clean lake. Go especially when the sun is setting. The reflected sunset lights makes the whole city reddish / orangish in colour. Not forgetting, Geneva has the highest water jet in the world. It's nothing spectacular but for the fact that it is the highest. The english garden is a popular place to to relax especially in the early evening. However, tourist will need to exercise extra caution as this place is known to be terrorised by pickpockets and robber especially when the night is approaching. In this garden, there is a huge clock made by live flowers and it has been an attraction spot. Though nothing much to see, it may be a nice place to relax, thanks to Lake Geneva. However, tourists are always put off by the high cost of living.
This is a very good concepts of sales... get the price reduced when u buy in bulks. That's what exactly happen when retailers buy in bulks. The more you buy, the cheaper it is. But, we as the consumers, will definitely buy in bulk at any one time. Hence, this is where letsbuyit.com play its role. It invites people to jointly buying a product and get the price reduced. This is both beneficial to the consumers and to the sellers. To the consumers, they've got the price reduced. To the sellers, the volume of sale increases. This is a win-win situation. However, some price is quite disappointing even when it hits the lowest price. No doubt it is lower but it is not as low as the consumers would have expected especially products related to technology. I've only bought once in letsbuyit.com and will do so again if i find any good deal. But, by far the best deal i have seen in here is an offer of 2 pounds for a pair of cinema tickets.
Man United, for the last two sessions failed to win the charity shield when lost to Arsenal 0-3 in 1998 and 1-2 in 1999. But Alex Ferguson is not really that concerned about the shield, his priority is the primier league, the FA Cup (1999), World Clubs' Cup (2000) and the Champion League. The idea of the shield is as a contribution to the charity. Yet charity shield can be an important match. It is a way to gain confidence before the season starts. But, failure in the charity shield has not detered Man United to go on winning their historic treble in 1999 and the Premiership in 2000. This year, Man United as the league champion is meeting Chelsea, the FA Cup winner. On paper, Chelsea is not as strong as Man United. But, it is hard to say in this match. Firstly, the arrival of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink can be the determining factor. Secondly, David Beckham is a doubtful starter in this match as he sustained injury during training. It will therefore be an interesting match to watch. Not forgetting, Fabien Barthez is going to prove his worth for his first match in England playing for United. Having conceded 3 goals in a match with Bayern Munich, he will be looking forward to perform well before the season starts again. My prediction is Man United to win 2-1.
The signing of Fabien Barthez has been given a warm welcome by Manchester United fan, as he is believed to be the most suitable one to replace the great Peter Schmeichel. When Peter Schmeichel left United in 1999, Alex Ferguson desperately tried to bring somebody in to replace him. He managed to bring in Mark Bosnich under a free transfer due to Bosman ruling. As commented by lots of people, Bosnich has not been able to replace the Great Dane. Therefore, the arrival of Fabien Barthez is hoped to boost the defence. Lets take a brief look on the characteristics of each goalkeeper. Firstly Peter Schmeichel. When he was brought in, he was not that impressive as he made noticable mistakes. But, Alex Ferguson was confident enough to let him go on with his game and undoubtedly, he became really good. If you scrutinise at how Peter Schmeichel worked, you notice that he was the key to United defence. You can always see him shout at the defenders, trying to organise them to the best possible covering. This is very much in contrast to Bosnich. On pitch, he was always very quiet. He concentrated on his own job. Very seldom did he try to organise the defenders. Barthez, on the other hand is more like Schmeichel. But Barthez is more daring in defending. In Euro 2000, he came out of the penalty box to clear the ball when the opponent striker was charging. And he just managed to clear the ball. The good point about him is his confidence in doing this. Hopefully, Barthez will live up to his name.
At first thought, the football players' wages seem to be ridiculously high. In general, people do not agree that a football player should not earn that much. But, if you take some times and think sensibly why they are paid that much.. then you will think they deserve that money! Your first question should be "Where do they get all those money?". In real life, no matter in what field you specialise, if you are the most wanted person because of the unique skills you have, you will be offered high salary pay. Similarly, in football, all those players are "wanted players". Who make them "wanted"? Yes, the fan!!!! As long as the fan likes football, the demand for good players is always there. Football club such as Manchester United is making tonnes and tonnes of money through their fan, be it entry tickets to Old Trafford or the sales of merchandised items. When they make this money, most of this money must logically go to the players as the players are the ones that make the club profitable. However, Man Utd imposed a wage structure system that prevents its players from getting highly paid (which I think the players deserve). Whereas clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid keep spending money on players even though they are in debt! Besides, the highly-paid players are always put on pressure to perform. Therefore, they do not get their money for nothing. They have to justify their value. Not many people can handle pressure like this. So, there should be no fuss about football players getting high wages. It is you as the fan that make that possible. The only way to stop the football players from getting high pay is when you stop being a fan and so is the rest of the people. Not possible, right? so no fuss about pay, then!
