Last year i was after some tickets to see a show in London. I came across this website, and noticed quite a few people were selling tickets with good seats on the webpage. I read the info about how it worked, and it all seemed great. I paid for the tickets, and like the website states, you will received your tickets in good time, or you'll get double the money back.
Well i thought that was a pretty good guarantee. I didnt expect however to have to use it! A few days before the event, i started getting a little nervous as to where my tickets were. I called seatwave and was told not to worry. The day before the event, i still didnt have the tickets, i was so mad, i spoke to the manager, who apologised, and told me the only thing he could do would be to have them delivered to the hotel where i was staying in London. I didnt like this at all, but felt my hands were tied. Though i did get to see the show, it was a nightmare experience, and one i wouldnt recommend.
I asked for my money back, like the website states, if you dont get your tickets in good time you get double your money back. Well i didnt get double, only half, which was better than nothing, but not what i'd call good customer care and i had to fight for the half i did get back.
I also used this site to sell some tickets i had once, lets just say, they were on the website for ages and in the end i had to sell them through ebay.
The website itself looks good, and is easy to use, just a let for me.
Studio has been around for many years, its well known for its very early christmas catalogues, that last year i think i received around may!
They have fairly good catalogues though, and always offer massive savings, like 80% off everything in the catalogues. They sell a whole host of items, from sweets, to bedding, to clothing and gifts. The one thing i would say however is that the bedding and some of the homeware i have found on occassions to be a little cheap and tacky.
You can order items either via post/telephone or online. Personally i always order online, and i do find the website easy to use. The only problem is the search facility always brings up massives of results. The photos are good though, and the descriptions are always extensive.
You can keep a track on your order, statements etc, via the website, which i personally find very helpful. The only problems ive found with this website is around the christmas period my order took weeks to arrive. Then when it did there was an item missing from the parcel. I also once ordered a personalised wedding album, and when it arrived it was dirty and very poorly made, when i complained, they couldnt send me a new one out in time for the wedding, which was a real nuisance.
I also once was sent a free delivery voucher code in the post, i placed my order online, used the code, but when they sent me my statement they had charged me for delivery. I did complain but they argued that it had expired. I also find they are very slow to respond to emails, and often when i call on the phone im put on hold for ages.
Despite this, i'd say its a good company, that do sell really cheap sale items throughout the year.
Ive been using my rather old video recorder to tape tv programmes for donkeys years, and never really thought anything of these new dvd recorders. Then last christmas, i was given this dvd recorder by my grandfather. Its been sitting in my spare bedroom for over 2 months, as i really didnt think i would use it. Then comic relief was on tv, and so i decided it would be handy to record it.
So i decided to set this machine up. I got it out of the box, and after looking at the quick start up guide, i decided to give it a try. I have to say it wasnt as simple as it looked, and the instructions were rubbish. I sat for over an hour trying to get it to find the sky channels, and everytime it would come back with no channels found. Eventually using several other leads, and basically alot of trial and error, i managed to get the sky to work via the recorder.
Then it was easy, you pressed a few buttons and it was all ready to go. I havent worked it all out as yet, but i did manage to record comic relief onto the hard drive without any problems. The picture is great, and theres loads of hard drive space available. I think this is brilliant, as theres no more fiddling for videos, and its just a quick flick of the switch and its recording. The dvd player itself is quite light, and a nice black colour, its relatively thin, and looks good. The only things ive noticed is firstly, its quite noisy when you record something, also initially after recording some programmes, i found a strong smell of burning rubber in the room, very odd. Im keeping my eye on this problem.
However, apart from this, its been great, you can even use it like a sky plus box, where you can rewind live tv. Personally for the money i think this is great, and once you get it going, im sure you will love it as much as i do at the moment.
Im a huge fan of this place, and having been here a few times, i can honestly day ive never had a bad meal here. Its a fairly big restaurant, and tends to never get too busy. They open at lunchtime for a few hours, and then again in the evening.
They offer a buffet style lunch, which is really cheap at just £9, and though ive never been much of a fan of buffet meals, i must say this one is great. The food is never dry, so hasnt been sitting around or reheated. It tastes competely fresh, like you'd just ordered it. They have loads dishes, and for your money you really are lucky, as you can try everything, and go up as much as you like.
They also have a buffet set meal, this is around £5 for a one course, or £7 for 2 and £9 for a 3. They have a good selection, and dont be afraid to ask if you can have a slight varaition on what the menu offers, as they are always very good at catering to your needs. This menu again is very good value, and one i'd recommend.
They also have an alcarte menu, this has more of a range, but is very pricey, and personally i wouldnt bother with it, as your bill is likely to be double even triple.
Its a lovelly restuarant, clean, bright, and very thai like. They have excellent service in here, and always are very attentive. The toilets are very clean and tidy, and overall if your looking for a good thai restaurant then this is the place to go.
Neighbours is a great show, thats been running for many years. Ive been watching it now for over 20 years, and im still finding it relatively interesting to watch.
Over the years they have made neighbours alot more modern and introduced alot of new characters into the show. They have kept some of the old ones, like harold bishop, and the kennedys. Personally ive always prefered neighbours to the rival home and away, but of late ive found neighbours abit poor.
The storylines seem drab and ridiculous. For example, theres one family, who in the last few months, have had some major accident, and theyve been in the hospital in practically every scene. I find this all too much, and a little uninventive of the writers. I also love it when a series do love triangles, even a lesbian interest. But for me the series hasnt been that outrageous for a long time, and its all become a little boring.
I find the kids in neighbours over the top, and unbelievable in there acting, and the younger kids are just annoying.
I always used to love the kennedy family, they used to bring alot of lightheartedness to the show, but since the arrival of rachel and zac, the keneddys seem very serious.
The show does have some attractive male and female cast members, so thats always a positive.
The show used to be on bbc 1, but it is now on channel five every weekday afternoon and every weekday evening. They also do a later show on fiver and a ominbus on the weekends.
Its done well, but maybe its run its course, i hope not, but i do long for some better storylines. Come on Neighbours you can do better!
Home and away has been on our tvs for many years. It was a massive hit in the 1990s, and rivalled with neighbours. Then it seemed to lose momentum and was taken off itv. I totally forgot about home and away and concentrated on Neighbours for many years afterwards.
However over the last year or two, home and away has become brilliant again, and the show has really pulled out all the stops. Theres some great characters and the acting is very good. I find the stories gripping and inventive. They havent changed the beginning music very much from when it was first broadcast, and i like this aspect.
The one thing though thats been getting on my nerves a little is that some characters are really over used, and one girl in particular seems to be in some kind of dramic event in nearly every episode.
I like the way they have kept up with the foster home and caravan park, and only recently sally left the bay, after being on the show since the very beginning.
I find the humour pretty good in this show, and i like the mix of different characters. Overall home and away has become one of my favourites, and is on every weekday at 6.00pm on channel 5. If you miss the show, they also repeat on fiver on the weekends.
I want one of those is a wonderful online company. It specialises in gadgets, and seems to increase its range all the time. They sell the weirdess of items on here, like a lump of coal at christmas, to spacetravel in the future.
I find this website really easy to navigate, and they have a good search facility, that is good if you are looking for a gift for a specific gender, age, price range etc.
Pricewise they are very competitive and i find they often have sales on, which can be very good indeed. Placing an order is really straightforward, and after adding the items to your basket and clicking through to the payment page, your orders complete.
They send you a confirmation email regarding your order, and normally you will receive your items with a few days. They always arrive well packaged, as yet ive not had any problems with any items.
Last christmas however, i ordered a few things, and one item was out of stock, i waited weeks and weeks, and nothing. Not only this but they didnt send me the other items i'd ordered either. I was getting concerned, so i emailed them and asked them if they could send the other items that were in stock. I was annoyed firstly that they said yes, but i;d have to pay delivery twice, then they told me that one of the items i'd ordered was now sold out. I did complain, as had they processed my order when i placed it, this item was in stock and i would have received it. Anyhow, eventually they did agree to send me the items free of charge, and then a week later i also received the second item i was waiting so long on.
This was a one of incident however, as generally they are wonderful, and ive always found everything to be spot on, and if your looking for something unusual this is the place to go.
I always used to use tampax tampons, then one day i friend told me that tampons are suppose to make you bleed more, so you use more and hence have to buy more tampons. I decided to do a little research, and yes online there were people who were suggesting this to be the case. I also found out that tampons have chemicals on them, and that these are not good for our body. They suggested that a lady might use 11,000 tampons in here lifetime, and that the alternative was to use organic tampons.
I was a little unsure, though they would be more expensive, uncomfortable to wear, difficult to use. However, i didnt like the though of the old tampons i used, and buying most things organic these days, i decided to find out a little more.
I found these tampons by natracare online, they were pretty good priced, at £2.30 for 16. I bought the ones with the applicator, which were slightly more. I have to say they were brilliant, they were just as easy to use, didnt make me feel uncomfortable, and i dont know if this is just me, but my period seemed lighter and less painful. Either way, im buying these from now on, they are completely natural, and just if not better than normal tampons.
I have seen these in bigger stores, like tescos, etc, but in smaller shops, they dont sell them, but they had them online in most good pharmacy stores.
I needed car insurance, and having always gone with swiftcover who seemed the cheapest for me, i was shocked to find esure where completely undercutting them on price. I also found out i could get £75 in cashback if i went with esure.
I visited there website, and found it to be nice and colourful, with really easy to follow instructions. I entered all my details, and even was suprised that my voluntary excesses were £0, even better.
I decided to go for it, and purchased the policy. Within days i received my documents, all correct and in order. I recently called esure up regarding a chip in my windscreen, it was really easy to get hold of them, and no waiting on the phone for hours. My cover allowed me to have a free repair, and i happily accepted. They use autoglass as there repairer, so a well known company.
They say you can alter your details online, should you wish to modifiy your policy, however when i tried this recently it would not let me. So i did in the end have to call them up, again i got through straightaway, and my new documents were sent out very quickly. Although i was charged £25 for a change, a little steep i thought.
The only other little problem which has now been sorted is that the cashback that was owed to me, took over 7 months to arrive, and i realy had to push for it. But got it in the end, and it really made the policy very cheap indeed.
I really didnt think that i would enjoy Dexter, it seemed a little sick to be watching a series about a serial killer. However, my mother recommended it, so i switched it on, and wow was i surprised. I completely became addicted to it, and couldnt wait for each episode to come on the tv each week.
Michael Hall is brilliant in this show, and he plays the role of serial killer to perfection, i find it all believable and incrediable how he makes you side with the killer and you actually want him to get away with it.
The first season is all about his life, and how he basically has an addiction to kill, so instead of killing innocent people, he kills people who are criminals. Genius i think. You see in the first season how his sister plays an important role in his life, and you also see a little clip into his past, and maybe a reason why he is like he is.
Each episode is 45 minutes long, and you can buy the first season from amazon or ebay for around £20. Im now onto the second season which is currently being shown on tv, and this is even more gripping than the first season.
There can be some gory bits, but the constant narration by michael hall, all the way through, i find makes you somehow not notice. This series isnt scary, which is what i feared, and definetely something i'd consider watching if you havent already.
The Ford Ka, reminds me of a tin can. When i used to wash my ka, the doors would bend and out. I soon realised that the Ka wasnt the best built car in the world.
You see Ford Ka's, just about everywhere, they are a cheap car to buy, and often you can get them very cheap second hand. The main reason they are so popular is because they are very cheap on parts, they have a low insurance group, they are small and dinky so easy to park and drive and they are relatively cheap.
The drive of a ka varies depending on what model you go for, i drove a very basic ka, and i have to say it was like driving a tank, and then tried the top of the range Ka, and actually it was lovelly to drive. It was light and easy to manoverure.
You often see Kas in Red, but i would be careful about getting red, as my red Ka faded badly, despite me cleaning and waxing it every month. The other thing i noticed about my friends Ka, was that the black bumper, faded and went nearly grey, which was really unsightly, personally if you can, i'd go for the colour coded bumpers.
Prices can vary, for a brand new Ka you can pay anything up to £9000, for a second hand Ka, you can get them as cheap as £500. If you do go for second hand, make sure theres no rust, as ka's do rust badly, especially around the doors.
I recently bought the first season and i have to say im hooked. Partrica arquette playes the leading lady, and i have to say shes amazing. The story is all about a lady who works for the districts attorneys office, as a medium, and who more often than not works out cases, because she sees them in here dreams, or senses things as she enters a crime scene.
Each episode is 45 minutes long, and theres been 4 seasons. Im only onto the second season, but every episode so far is completely brilliant, and it doesnt appear to be getting boring. I personally love here kids in this show, especially bridget, shes the funniest looking kid, and really seems very natural, im always laughing watching her.
At the end of each series, i noticed that it sayes consultant alison, and when i looked into this. The series is based on true life events, and there really is a lady who has solved crimes, based on her dreams and psychic abilities.
I thought medium was going to be scary, and there have been a few scary moments in it, but overall its more interesting then scary, and i find the way the series is produced is completely believable.
I also think the leading man, joe, is excellent in this series, and you really would believe that they were a couple in real life. The stories are also not too far fetched, and often they twist and turn and alot of the times you dont see the ending coming.
I'd definetely recommend it, it is on sky, but its into the second or third season now, so i bought the first and second season on amazon, for around £25, and i would say its definetely worth it.
I joined onepoll about 4 months ago now, its a nice website. Really easy to navigate and very fast to sign up and get registered. You can sign up more than 1 person in your household, so go if you have a partner.
They give you around £5 for joining, and then each day you log in, and there will be several surveys. Alot of them you may not be able to do, as maybe they will be for mums only, or over 45s, etc. I find this a little annoying, as most days i can only answer say 1 or 2 surveys if im lucky. You get paid on average 10p a survey, and i must say the vast majority of the surveys are really quick and easy.
The main problem with it though, is the high payout of £40 i still havent reached it after all these months, and because of this i do feel you get a little bored and disheartened, and sometimes i forget to bother clicking on because of it.
The website also ask you for your story, and they say they will pay generously for this, if it gets used. Well ive written a few, very long and detailed stories, and ive never even had an email back to say thanks. So on that score i wouldnt bother.
Overall it really only takes a few minutes of your day, and if you can be religious about it, then maybe in a few months you may get to the £40 payout, my advice would be to be persistent and consistent.
This is a great website that i recently came across. You sign up, and then you choose a supermarket you want to use. I used tesco, from here you can book a delivery slot and then you procede to add items into your trolley from the mysupermarket website.
They are all the same products from tesco, and have all the same details, but the beauty of the website is that as you add them into your trolley, along the top bar it shows you the price comparison of the same/similar item in asda, sainsburys, waitrose, etc. At the end of your shop you can then see which supermarket is the cheapest for what you have choosen.
The other great thing about this website is a thing called swap and save, what this is, is as you add items to your trolley, you can click the button called swap and save. What this does it is bring up another page, with alternative items, that are either cheaper, or better offers. Its brilliant, and really does make you think you are getting the best deals you can.
There is also a calories button, and if you click this, you can see items that are similar but of lower calories. I think this is great if you are watching your weight.
Once its all done, you simply click, send trolley, and you;ll be redirected to the supermarkets homepage, where you can pay and send your order.
I also noticed that if you use this website, you will not only save money but you will be awarded ipoints, which you can redeem for vouchers etc, and all for doing what you do anyway.
I do like true stories and this film is all about a true life event that happen in 1971. Its set in london, and i must say i did like the acting, it was very believable and the cast worked well in there roles.
The story begins with a group of small time crooks who are looking for that one time job, so that they no longer have to worry about money anymore. This is where the leading lady, who kinda reminded me of catherine zeeta jones, steps in. The police plant drugs on here in an airport, as they know she is friendly with some crooks, and they make a deal, that they will drop the drugs charge if she organises a breakin of a local lloyds bank.
Basically the police are corrupt, and the bank is holding certain photos that they want to get there hands on. Unbelievably the gang pull it off, though how they werent caught is beyond me. Anyhow, the gang find not just one photo of a certain royal in the vaults, but several photos of important people. Unfortunately however, the gang split up, and 2 get taken by rather unscruplious indviuduals who are after something else that they found in the vault. The only 2 remaining crooks, make a deal to pass over the photo to the corrupt mi6 for a new identities.
In the end they get caught however, and the corrupt police are found out and theres a massive investigation in the police force of the 1970s. The gang however are never convicted and get away with it scot free! If it wasnt a true story, i wouldnt believe it, but appartantely this really happened.
I'd definetely say to watch it as it was quite good fun and easy to watch. I paid £5 for it on amazon.
