With our daughter growing up now we needed to invest in a DVD player and decided on this compact Sony BDP. She loves to watch her favourite Frozen DVD or other Disney programmes before bed but accessing the episodes on the laptop was becoming a bit of a drain especially when trying to complete work for the next day.
We are all very happy now after I invested £79.99 in this blue ray player. The weird thing about it is that it has no display. I wasn't sure how this was going to work but they have done it to slim down the device which does mean it is good for storage and also gives it a futuristic feel. Not only does it feel modern but its features are vey up to date too. For example it contains access to on demand services such as Iplayer. It also has a USB device so you can play other media apps through it too. It is also good for sharing videos on facebook through its social media applications. This is because it allows you to access these sites through the internet.
I find the pictures are excellent and this is because it has enhanced resolutions built in. It makes the images appear brighter and really makes a difference when you are viewing movies.
Finally the surround sound gives a theatre type feel to the device and gives a greater impact to the viewing experience.
I am glad we brought the device and it was certainly worth the money. My daughter loves it for her movies and we love it when she goes to bed with the additional options.
With the winter months giving unpredictable weather conditions I was concerned that my old tyres would not stand the test of everyday driving in such weather. Another concern of mine has always been the fact that I live surrounded by steep hills and the slopes can make things tricky to navigate around.
I normally go for the cheap option tyres but with a young family I do not want to take any risks and opted for the more expensive Goodyear option. I paid £54.99 for one tyre although if you shop around you may find a bargain out there.
Immediately I could feel the impact they had on my driving, finding that I had more grip and sturdier driving. The hill slopes which I sometimes wheel spin off were no longer happening I the greater traction gave me an added feeling of security.
We have recently experienced some snowy conditions and I have found they do not under perform in these areas either. Coming home from work we had a sudden fall over heavy snow for a couple of hours and I felt very comfortable driving.
As they are a premium tyre I am expecting them to last longer than my original cheap options so although the initial outlay is more expensive I am hoping I won't need to replace them as frequently.
I will certainly be buying these again in a few months when my back tyres need replacing and I expect that I will notice further improvements to my cars performance.
If you are looking for tyres to get you through the next tough few months weather wise then these are certainly worth spending a few extra pounds on.
If you want to stand out from the crowd then you should look no further than these. They feature a nice red cable that makes them distinctive and certainly makes them look good. I have not been one for he big chunky headphones, much preferring the in ear ones but these do give the additional feel of quality and make you look and feel good. The earphones have a nice feature with the disc shaped buds with a cool logo. They fit really nicely into your ear and they block out the background noise well. I find that the signal you receive means that the noise that is being transmitted comes through so clearly. There is a real crispness to the sound and I have experienced few better.
I find that because the cables are quite long then there are some really good practicality issues. You don't have to stretch the cable or device because there is plenty of slack to go around.
Having had them for a few months now and have found them to be very durable and as they get a lot of use when I am running for example I have no worries about them lasting a long period of time. Some products of this nature can feel cheap and horrible but despite the price I have no concerns about these even on long runs and with its everyday usage.
Overall I am really pleased with them. They are stylish, long lasting and most importantly give fantastic sound quality.
I was in need of new cordless phone and having brought this as a twin pack I absolutely love them. First of all they look great with a lovely sleek style and easy to hold. They are lightweight too and with the blue LED back light it makes them look even better. It has a caller ID display which is really useful and a nice colour display.
There are a number of different tunes you can have for your ringtone and some of these a more annoying than others I should say but you are bound to find something that you like. I do like the buttons nice and chunky they feel quality when you press them that makes me think that they are going to last a long period of time. I also find the call quality of the devices really good. Moving around the room upstairs, downstairs I find that there is no difference. It is really good and my friends and family have also commented on how good the reception is.
The phones come with two really funky stands. They slope and look really good. I would actually say that the stands look even more sleek than the phones. It gives it a nice space age type feel to them.
If you are looking for a cordless phone I would certainly recommend them. Yes you can buy cheaper phones than this but I do not think you will regret buying these. I brought them for £69.99 so go grab yourself a good buy.
Unfortunately I had to buy one of these because of a bad experience that cost me nearly £100. A few years ago I had the belief that if you had an Iphone there was no point getting a cover. This would only cover it up and who would know you had this phone then. Obviously when the screen cracked I had second thoughts. You have to learn from your mistakes.
So now with all my expensive devices including my Ipad I make sure I get a cover. I brought this online. It arrived fast and promptly and overall I have been very pleased with it. First of all I find it very lightweight and was easy to slip on. It also has a very handy see through screen that allows you to view all your apps, games and internet sites. The screen is crisp, clear and after a short period of time you will hardly notice that you have the screen protector on the device.
There is an additional storage area and you can buy this in a variety of colours that suit your mood or style. It has an extra layer too that offers a bit more protection for your Ipad. The zips add a bit more quality and style to the product and it makes it easy to store your device zip up and put away.
I certainly have no problems with the sleeve and I Know that it gives me good protection. If you consider the fact that this costs you around £9.99 and protection you from damage could save you hundreds I would learn from my previous mistakes.
Having brought a second hand car which had just one fault which was a cracked CD player I wanted a new one and having done a lot of research decided on this. I have no regrets.
The first thing I like about it is the screen size. It looks great with the many features but unlike the TV I brought I find it really easy to use and to navigate through. I love the fact that it is touch screen which is so handy to set up what you want and the quality of it is true on two levels.
Because it looks so good it just rings of quality visually and also the sound it gives off means that you have a quality sound coming through the speakers. It was also easy to install and I would not consider myself to be a technology expert however I found it good for a general novice like me. It has two video outputs an auxiliary in the front and rear and front and rear amplifier. This means that it gives great sound to the head units.
It is also very good value. I brought it for £159.99 but I believe if you shop around you can get this cheaper. For a touch screen product like this it is a good price for market out there.
If you are looking for a top DVD player then I don't think you can look any further than this. For the price and what you can pay then this is something I highly recommend.
You worry about your little ones all the time so when you are doing a lot of travelling or even on the odd car journey to the shops you need to be buying a car seat that is not only a good price but also feels real quality to give your child the best chance should the worst happen. I read in the news a couple of months ago that a child's life was saved in motorway accident because of the car seat he was in. It cannot be underestimated.
Now from time to time you do feel like you need to go for an expensive product but at £24.99 on the Kiddicare website this was a product we could not do without. Our friend brought one and alerted us to the cheap knock down price.
It has some really good features the main one being that it will grow with you child as it is suitable for kids of 9 months to 11 years. That is amazing and makes it even better value. It also gives side and head support through its impact protection and one of the things that we found a little annoying on our previous car seat was that the covers were hard to remove. This is great especially when your toddler is potty training. The cover is easily removed and so can be washed as and when you need it.
With a 12 month guarantee and because it is tested to high European standards I don't think you can look past the excellent value car seat.
How often is it you get bad service? The grumpy waiter, the rude receptionist and the internet companies who can hide behind an email and unhelpful telephone lines. Well what a refreshing change Branch309.
I discovered them because my wife wanted some new boots for her birthday. The only specification I was given was brown or black. Great! I say with plenty of sarcasm. So trawling the internet and found them which sell a ranch of products at rock bottom prices. Sometimes you can find the odd bargain on auction sites and I even found them to be vastly cheaper than some of the products I have seen from them.
They sell designer, big named brands too. None of the cheap stuff nobody else wants. The Rocketdog boots I brought that arrived were real quality, really well wrapped and in perfect condition. The biggest thing to me was the prompt service. I paid £3.50 for standard postage which on the website meant that they should arrive in 3-5 days. Instead I was pleasantly surprised to find they arrived in 2. There are a variety of different postage payments you can make that are more expensive but with service as good as I received I wouldn't bother as they are more expensive.
It is not a website I have come across before and I am not sure how new the company is so you only find out how truly good a company they are when you have a problem but what a positive impression they have made on me.
I will certainly be a returning customer. With a vast product range, great prices and even better service don't look any further.
I have never been one to splash out on exotic technology. I often see or hear about people waiting through the night for the brand new phone that is released and knocking each other over on Black Friday to get to the latest gadget. However I recently joined the madness. Having come into a bit of money through some PPI claims I thought I would treat myself with no regret whatsoever.
It has many features which I still have not got round to playing with yet. These include Cloud TV and Cloud Explorer. The idea of this means that I can watch many more channels from around the world. It crazy but I will get round to watching these at some point. I like the fact that it is thin in width too and 65 inch screen means that it is fantastic for watching everything. The screen is bright and clear and seems much more enhanced than my old TV in part because of its high panel resolution. There is also something called the Ambilight which also has a greater impact on the screen which creates a better picture for viewing amd the colours that are projected back at you.
Smart TVs seem to have really taken off and I can now see why. I can rent movies and games for the kids and even use it to connect with social media sites like Youtube and Facebook. It is like a great big toy.
You can even use it to connect to your smart phone so what you see on the big TV screen you can also view on the small screen too.
At £1400 it does not come cheap. I would never have dreamed on spending so much on a TV a few years ago but with so many features to use I know that is something that will grow with the rest of the family and certainly gives me some cool points! I am sure I will discover much more that it can do and after a long day and once the kids are in bed I get chance to play!
Although expensive in my opinion it is certainly worth the money.
Switch off switch on again is the best bit of advice on most occasions to get your laptop working. Why? I have no idea but one Sunday afternoon a few months back as I settled down to do some work after the football on TV all I got was the dreaded black screen. I had been receiving an error message for awhile about my battery supply and I suppose it was only a matter of time.
I researched a number of different possible diagnosis on google and it was apparent I needed a new battery. I was happy with the price of £24.99 and it arrived without any delay in a couple days. It also came with a 12 months warranty and instructions on how to assemble although the process is very straight forward.
The great thing about this replacement battery is they have LI ON cells which are designed for better memory and also have a much larger capacity. Having brought the Laptop off an auction site I expect that this product will last me much longer. It does seem to give my laptop an improved performance in terms of the brightness of the screen and also the speediness to switch between different platforms. The nature of the product also means that there is an improved memory.
The battery is only used for Toshiba laptops and also has to used for machines that are capable of processing the batteries voltage. If not it may cause problems for the machine.
Overall I was very pleased with the delivery and so far the product has not let me down. I use the laptop often for work and general use so it does need to be something that is going to last me a long time. I am hopeful this will the case.
I never imagined myself to be the green fingered type. Only a few years ago to me a garden was an inconvenience I could do without. I would have much preferred a low maintenance garden that took a few minutes to brighten up whenever I had my mates round for a few beers and a BBQ.
Now that I am a family man approaching my mid 30s, my garden is important to me so that my children are happy to run around and have fun. Previously before I brought this Westland product my garden was full of bare yellow patches, without much grass and it looked a complete mess. Now having used this my lawn is lush and green. It is very simple to use by adding the granules to water and spreading as evenly as you can across the affected areas. I didn't notice any real difference for a couple of weeks and was quite despondent about it as I had forked out just under £10. What it seemed to do almost instantly was to get rid of the weeds that had been lurking around and this did make a real difference straight away. I have subsequently tried it on the moss that creeps up in my patio tiles and this again has instant results in getting rid of the excess green stuff and brightening up our patio.
I am not sure of the science behind the fact that it kills the weeds but lets the grass grow however whatever it is I have been very happy with the product and will not hesitate to use it again come spring this year as I know it will leave my grass looking great.
Myself and my wife could never go back to using a normal kettle now we have the Breville Hot Cup. I remember my Dad saying to me as a child when the first Mcdonalds Drive Thru opened close to our town berating the laziness of modern day people that instead of walking into the restaurant to get their food they were now staying in their cars. Put it another way how many of you could live without your remote controller for your TV. Well if you are like me, wondering around the living room for 10 minutes searching for the remote instead of going over to the TV and simply switching it on then you like me are perfectly suited to this product.
With our old dusty kettle collecting lime scale I decided to invest in a product which I love. It cost £34.99. There are some good deals to be had on the Hot Cups although you can pay over the price so it pays to shop around. It is sleek, does not take up too much space and is very easy to set up. It has a number of useful features to it like a overflow tray to disperse any of the hot water and a lovely bright blue light that lights up the water being boiled when it is in use. By simply pressing a button on the top of the product the water starts to boil. This is the good bit. Even when the Breville Hot Cup is filled up to its maximum of 1.5 litres it takes less than 10 seconds to reach boiling point. I can only describe it as like a fast super car going from 0-60mph away from traffic lights. It is fast. There is no more waiting around for 3 minutes for your kettle to boil and when you are in a rush or have a number of guests around, spending large amounts of time in the kitchen is a thing of the past. As soon as it reaches boiling point it begins to dispense of the hot water into your ready prepared mug. I say mug as if you enjoy a cup of tea then this may not be right for you. You see you cannot adjust the settings to hoe much water you would like to come out. It is automatically set for just below the rim of mug not a cup and will leave your cup overflowing on each occasion. No good for my mom then but with two children busy lives and as we both enjoy our coffee and tea, there is simply no going back for us.
Finally not only do we have the convenience of making these drinks but for me they taste nicer than water from a kettle. You do not need to keep emptying it to get rid of any stale water from the night before and although I haven't had this confirmed yet I do think that it is going to save us money on our bills as it is taking less time to boil and therefore using less electric.
All in all once you have had one of these a kettle will be a thing of the past for your household.
On those cold Friday nights after a long week a work all I want to do is chill out and relax. By the time the kids have gone to sleep it is a time for glass of wine and a long soak in the bath. So when I get this AM/FM portable radio at Christmas I was delighted with it. Instead of reading my book and getting the pages wet I could simply use this to unwind with a variety of my favourite stations.
First of all it makes a great little present for someone. There is some novelty value to it. After all it looks like a kids toy. In fact my 2 year old loves it so much she thinks it is hers. However it is simple to use easy to set up and it does bring a smile to your face to see its cheeky face staring back at you. I would suggest the quality of it means it is unlikely to last you many years. The build of it does seem a little cheap and plastic however if you are looking for something much more substantial and durable then in reality you will be paying a much higher price. You also do not have to worry about getting it wet as the great thing about the device is you can put it in the water and watch it float. I have tried this unwittingly with one of my favourite books on a Friday night and unsurprisingly it did not end well.
The duck requires triple A batteries and they are not included. That said once a week use for an hour or so means that I have not replaced them yet and I am not expecting to for quite awhile.
I would recommend the product as it gives good reception to a variety of stations , it is lovely and cute even though the build quality could better and it is a useful gift for someone especially if they like their own time in the bath after a hard week.
I wish everybody knew about this part of the world. With many people deciding to holiday at home in recent years people often ask in conversation where they should go. This is where I always recommend. I grew up as young child going on a caravan holiday near Sandy Bay. Playing cricket on the beach, splashing about in the water having a lovely time. I went back a couple of years ago and sometimes you can view places with rose tinted glasses. You have these magic memories and then years later it just disappoints. Exmouth was not that and for me only enhanced its reputation as the best holiday destination in the UK.
So why do I think it so good?
First of all it has the best beach. The beach is comparable to something you would find in the med. It is that good. The water is so clear and fresh you will not have and concerns about your children swimming in the sea. The atmosphere is wonderful and the local people are very friendly. There is plenty of things for children and young familys to do but there is also a good variety of places to eat out at night. The fish and chips there are just brilliant too.
There is no better place. I do not know why more people do not know about Exmouth. You must visit and honestly you will fall in love with it just like I have.
When I first brought this phone I loved it. To look at it was not spectacular, just a basic rectangle shape completely black and it is quite a slim phone. The problem is with the Lumia is that it has been so quickly overtaken by various other phones on the market. As a mid range mobile it keeps its head above the water.
With access to the internet fairly rapid and quick access to emails it was a little dream, showing it off to friends I was happy. The touch screen is a good feature and you can get even quicker access to apps through a variety of little squares that appear on the home screen. It is excellent for social interaction in that sense because by clicking on the twitter on facebook for example it gives you access with 3 seconds. Being a windows phone it though it doesn't allow access to all the apps I like though. For example I like to use internet banking with Natwest and it does not allow you to download the app as it is only available on Iphone or Android. Things like this are major drawback.
The apps it does have to offer is beginning to grow but it you have to ask yourself why wait when you can have it all on other models.
Now I have had the phone a while the battery life has begun to fade. It won't charge completely and the battery fades rather rapidly. I have had it on a 24 month contract so I suppose it is coming to end of its life as a phone but this is worth bearing in mind if you are looking to buy one second hand. In its earlier days the battery life was rather good. It would drain like most phone if you used the apps constantly but you could easily get a days worth out of the phone.
The camera is good the audio on the phone is excellent making it really good for listening and watching youtube videos. For me it competes with phones such as the HTC but it has been overtaken even by its own brand and other phones now so for me there are better phones than this on the market.
