Thomas the engine and it's friends are all very popular toy trains. My 22 month old son grew interested in these after watching their shows. He wouldn't ask for anything besides these trains. He also remembers all their names very well, Thomas being the foremost of them all.
I have collected a whole series of Thomas engines and Tomy whistle is one of those. Tomy whistle and Go Thomas is an amaziong toy because it works with just a whistle. You whistle once and it moves forward and you whistle twice to stop it and then to turn it around, you have to whistle once more. With just a whistle, manual or the other, you can make fun happen around home and entertain your child.
Mine came in for 12 pounds. It's a very good bargain for the great toy. It's a one in itself toy that can keep your child busy for hours together.
I would highly recommend this if you want to entertain your child in a healthy manner.
I had always heard so much about then famous brand of Haagen Dazs and was curious to know what was so great about their ice creams. While I was going for all the local brands and found the ice creams wuite good, I was intrigued and wanted to try this just once.
Well, on browsing their varieties I found the strawberry cheese cake the best, more so because I am a big fan of strawberry flavours especially if they are using fresh strawberrys or the extract.
The ice cream was allright and my tub contained 100 ml of it. It cam ein for around 1.5 punds which I found rather expensive. It was an attractive carton tub with pictures of fresh strawberries and cheese cake on it. I simply love cheese cake so I counldn't have chosen anything different for a flavour. The tub opens easily by pulling out the lid. You may have as much as you want and save the rest for later. Trust me, it's quite a bit of calories when you get to counting !!!
The texture is great, it's creamy and think with a rich taste of cheese cake, strawberry sauce and cookies. You can see the strawberry swirls and the cookie bits right in there. It's no doubt very tempting.
I would say that if you can get any other brand for the same flavour and cheaper, you should go in for that because Haagen Dazs is really cashing in on their name and the price for the ice cream is just not justified.
Thanks for reading !
Available in several different (rather cool )) shades, this lipstick comes in a chrome case. It can be pulled up by turning the bottom part around (like in case of any other lipstick). It sure is a stick with a thin pencil like packaging.
I am a big fan of The Body Shop and have tried many of it's products but mostly skin care products. It was the first time that I tried their make up. Earlier I had used their conventional lipstick and now I tried this sheer lip colour.
I didn't feel anything different with this lipstick although it claims to be smooth as far as the application is concerned. If you are looking for an easy to carry lipstick, this is good enough but it can leave the cracks on the lips more visible rather than smoothening them out when applied.
I tried the ruby colour which was good for day use and night use alike. The colour choices are plenty. The price is a bit too much for this regular sized lipstick. Mine came in for 9 pounds. If I have to spend this much, I would rather go in for a revlon/l'oreal and I can buy two of those for the same price on special offers.
I would not really suggest any of you lipstick lovers to go in for this one unless you really have to splurge and make a collection just for the heck of it.
I am not really into make up foundation whether liquid or powder. But I do have a temptation to get around the cosmetic stores and pick up a few for my collection just in case for those rare occasions.
There are brands that I trust and while Chanel and Estee lauder seem way too expensive for my budget, I stick to L'Oreal most of the time. This time around I got sucked in by viewing the TV commercial for this Maybelline dream Satin liquid makeup.
The liquid makeup comes in an attractive pump in bottle that is very easy to use. I believe that is the only thing that is trully in favour of this product. All the rest of the aspects were absolutely disappointing.
I got this product for around 7.75 pounds at the local Asda. I thought this bottle would last if I really liked the foundation that is. The promotion says that this is a makeup that gives an air brush feel and doesn't leave any lines or cake like appearance. Well, I experienced totally the opposite. It neither gave any satin like finish nor did it really covered all those imperfections for which you really need a cover make up. Unfortunately I had to discontinue the use because everytime I applied it, it would make my face look done up and make me feel rather heavy on the face.
No recommendations for this products I am afraid!
I have hardly heard anyone say that he doesn't like chocolates. Amongst the most popular ones like Cadbury's or Lindt (Swiss Chcolates) one can't help mentioning the chocolate giant from Pennsylvania, US that is Hershey's . Hershey's are pioneers in everything chocolate. They manufacture the delicious Syrup and the wonderful exclusive chocolate kisses. These chocolate kisses are rightfully named because of their size and the shiny foil wrapping. These choclates are individually wrapped in either golden or silver foil with a tiny paper strip sticking out that says hershey's on it. These are shaped like tear drops and are uite the bite size. The golden foil wrapped ones are almond flavoured while the silver ones are regular. There are a few other flavours available like perhaps cherry and orange but I have only tried the almond and the4 regular ones and I can easily say that these are perfect hunger buster for those times when you can figure out just what to grab.
Even for kids these chocolates could prpove to be a healthy alternative to others because these atleast have real almonds in them. I would highly recommend these beautiful divinities to all you chocolate lovers. Go for them. These won't upset your calorie consipousness because of their perfect sizes.
Of all the cheeses, cheddar, Gouda and Edam are my favourites (not necessarily in that order). The biggest quality that cheddar possesses is that it comes in a wide range and variety. You can select it according to your taste buds. It a fabulous cheese that looks pale yellow/golden depending on the variety and is very commonly available at your neighbourhood grocery store so you don't have to pay that special trip to those specialised cheese shops although you can get better quality and bigger chinks of the cheese at the exclusive cheese stores.
I prefer to eat this cheese in sandwiches but it is great even just as it is with red wine. It's a great in between meal snack and is very filling for the stomach. The only downside is that it is very very high in calories and is not good if eaten in large quantities.
There is a wide selection of cheddar available in all stores starting from the sharp one, the medium one and a very mild one. The cheddar blocks are also available in spices like red pepper, black pepper, less salty or with lots of salt.
A medium sized block of cheddar costs about 3 pounds at my grocery store. These are neatly wrapped in clear plastics. These have to be stored well otherwise they begin to smell and rot away quickly.
Heinz is a traditionally known brand with tomato products in the USA. It's a tomato ketchup with a distinct taste that can beat all other brands.
The ketchup comes in a small glass bottle or a larger plastic one with a white lid and a seal beneath and the lid can be easily unscrewed to avoid any messes. It's a rich and thick deep red coloured sauce that tastes great on almost everything. I have tried it with fried eggs, on boiled eggs, sandwiches, french fries, burgers or any other snack that requires that extra dash of tanginess to enhance the flavor.
This is low in calories and so it can be had in larger amount as well. Heinz has also come up with an upside down bottle which avoids the problem of using up the last few dabs that remain at the bottom of the bottle. Kids love this ketchup and once you have tried this you will not want to change the brand.
Ofcourse this sauce is a little pricier than the local brands available at Asda and tesco but it is definitely worth it's price.
Cocoa butter is one of my favourite contents in skin care products and I desperately look for this whenever I am buying a face or body cream. My skin is generally dry and cocoa butter is just the solution for my moisture hungry skin.
When I heard about this Body Shop cocoa butter creamy body wash, I thought I couldn't have asked for more. A bath product, that too from the Body Shop containing cocoa butter was a big blessing for me. I didn't wait before I grabbed one from my nearest Body shop outlet even though the product seemed a little too pricey for a body wash. It came in a pale pink (the usual Body shop signature colour) coloured bottle with a lid that can be pressed down from one side and the wash can be dispensed from the other.
It's a 250 ml bottle that seems little for me but I am using it miserly so it lasts longer. It smells great, ofcourse of cocoa and it's absolutely creamy as they say. After taking a shower with this, I felt totally invigorated and there was no need for a body moisturizer (something that I religiously use after every shower).
I would sum this product up as a great product even though it is a little pricey.
Nair has a whole line of hair removing products which is why the name "Nair" rhymes with "hair". I am not too much into shaving or using creams or lotions for hair removal purpose. Traditionally I have been using the method of waxing. Lately I felt that waxing was becoming a long and tedious procedure and thought of trying out a quicker method of using a cream.
After consulting a few friends I settled on this new fancy looking tube of cream with a soft peachish smell. I didn't have to go far ahead with using this product before I realized that it was a waste of money and ruining my skin. I paid nearly 4 pounds and a half for the 5-4 oz tube and threw the money down the drain.
The soft peach flavour was an awful smell and even though I followed the instructions carefully, my skin started burning as soon as I applied the lotion on.
The instructions asks to apply the cream like a layer on the area and leave it on for 5 minutes and then wash it off with a damp wash cloth. But it's almost impossible to leave the cream on the skin. When I actually tried to leave the cream for that long and washed it off, only a few hai came off and the rest just remained there like stubborn kids. I was in no mood to reapply the cream and leave it any longer. After a few days I noticed that the hair grew harder on the area where I had used this cream and I decided to discontinue the use immediately. I would never recommend the product to anyone unless you want to ruin your skin.
This a delicious stock up lunch or dinner and serves best for the rainy days when you can't think of cooking anything and you just need a quick bite.
I just saw this Chinese noodle stir fry on the aisles of Tesco and even though it was their own product, I didn't mind buying it or didn't doubt the quality. It comes in an attractive black and red coloured packaging. The contents include delicious egg noodles with vegetables like waterchest nuts red bell peppers and bean sprouts.
Although this is a frozen meal, we don't have to thaw it in microwave. All it requires is heating and a bit of stir frying the noodles. I basically fried the noodles for about 10 minutes and mixed the vegetables and the sauce alltogether in one go. After cooking for another 5- 6 minutes a great meal was ready.
However, i do feel they could have thrown in some more veggies and sauce and may be some more noodles because when it comes to chinese, I believe in a larger portion size.
After trying this dinner, I rushed to tesco and picked up a whole bunch of Chinese noodle stir frys and made two packets at a time.
I bought a 500 g package for about a pound and a half. I think that was a great price for the meal.
I have been using plain water and then milk drenched cotton for removing all the eye make up that I use. But lately I started feeling the need to get a good eye make up remover because after all it's the question of a sensitive park of the face that needs proper care.
I was lucky enough to receive the Lancome Bi Facil double-Action Eye Makeup remover in a bonus gift pack on a purchase I made from lancome. This way I was able to try the product that came in a small size before actually buying it.
Although it seemed a little pricey as compared to other brands of eye make up removers, I found it totally worth the purpose I bought it for. It comes in a plastic aqua blue bottle with a twist open white lid. It dispenses in a squirt like motion very easily and can be applied with a cotton ball or cotton pad quite conveniently with gentle motions. I generally take small amounts on a piece of cotton and press it gently on the made up area and swipe it with a soft motion. The make-up removes very easily and it leaves the skin squeaky clean.
I would greatly recommend this product to all you friends there looking for a good eye make-up remover.
I somehow have a penchant for picking up and trying different kinds of facial cleansers. I know it's generally said that you should stick with one kind and one brand to see if it suits your skin and eventually it is good for the skin as well. But I am never satisfied with one type.
Recently when Ponds introduced their cleanser in the same packaging as their famous creams (that they have been selling since ages), I was tempted to buy the green white jar. Ponds was known to me as a trademark for thick facial and cold creams. They later also came up with the cleansing products like cloths and pore cleansers.
This magnificent cream cleanser is a cold cream and a cleanser in one package. The jar is a classic ponds' white one with a green twist turn lid. It's easy to open and with the work of your fingures you can take as much as you want.
This cream cleanser is great for winters for dry skins. It worked extremely well for me to remove my make up. I use a lot of eye make up and lipstick generally and this cleanser takes away every trace of make up leaving my skin squeaky clean.
I have also used the cleanser for just cleaning my face before going to bed and trust me, it makes you feel all light and oil free.
I would recommend this cleanser especially to be used in winter time.
I am a fruit lover and there is hardly any fruit that I wouldn't like. My favorite however are few and Papaya is one of those.
This is a highly nutritious fruit with green/yellow skin. It's green mostly when it is raw, in this case you need to just wrap it in paper and keep it aside to ripen by itself. When the skin is yellow, it means that the fruit is ripe. Whie buying it, make sure that it's not too loose otherwise all you will get would be messy pulp.
This fruit has a great property of easing up the digestive process of the bosy because it contains the necessary digestive enzymes. It's high in vitamin C, calcium and iron. The inside of the fruit is dark pink or orange and the middle part has the tiny black seeds that can be thrown away or used as desired.
It's a sweet fruit that can be cut either horizontally or vertically and can be either eaten in form of long slices or cubes.
It's found in the tropical area and is extremely expensive in the UK. Regular consumption of this fruit brings a glow to your skin. Let's say that it's a skin friendly fruit. There are loads of skin care products available in the markets that contain papaya extracts because applying papaya peel/ extracts to the skin helps improvement.
In a nutshell, it's a fruit with all the possible qualities.
I was never really big on Olay products and I used the regular Olay moisturiser only because friends recommended it and it seemed non greasy encased in that nice pink bottle.
Anyhow, after watching the powerful commercials for the Olay Regenerist rehydrating lotion with uv protection on TV, I was totally taken in and I decided that I will have to give this attractive face lotion a try.
I bought the 75 ml bottle for 11 pounds at Sainsbury. I am sure it can be found cheaper on sales and may be more expensive on regular price. I thought the price wasn't too bad considering the quality of the lotion and the little amount it is supposed to be used in.
I usually tend to use all creams and lotion liberally on face but with this product I soon came to realise that a little goes a long way.
It is packaged nicely in a black-red plastic case that can be opened easily from the top. There are instruction behind the sleek white bottle with the black lid. The lotion is very easily dispensed from the pump out lid.
The directiond to use are very simple. Just pump out a few drops of the lovely liquid onto your fingures and smear on your entire face and neck area after cleansing. It is a very smooth non greasy lotion that spreads easily and is absorbed easily onto the skin. It can last long if used in the correct amount.
Active ingredients in the lotion include 4% Octisalate, 2% Avobenzone, 1.25% Octocrylene and 1% Ensulizole.
Procter and Gamble has produced some of the greatest items in the past and this is another one in the list. I am positive that with regular use of this product the ageing process of my skin will slow down and it will be protected from the harsh UV rays as well.
I trully trust Savlon brand for all their first aid products. I have been using their antiseptic solution for a very long time. They produce some of the most sophistcated products in great easy to use packaging.
These advances plasters are advanced indeed in every way possible. A few days ago while playing with my son who demands new things to play with every couple of minutes, I had a terrible accident. I was offering a care kit to my son to play with and there were several items in the kit that was securely closed. By accident I opened the kit and the shaver that was sitting in the kit cut the top of my index finger with it's blade with great force and the cut went deep inside the flesh. I almost screamed. I did not want my son to get scared at any cost. I promptly went to fetch the Savlon plasters that I had recently bought (Thank God!!!) and after applying a little Savlon solution to the wound covered it with the plaster. Since doing that my finger never got wet even while I ran water on it. The healing process sped up becasue the thin hols let air pas through the plaster. Within a week my finger was good to go and I started typing just as before.
I am sure if I had used any other plaster, the healing would have taken much longer.
