Just like most other women; mascara is an essential in my make-up bag! I am forever changing my mascara to try and find the right one. I went into Boots to try and find a mascara that would make my eyelashes look a little bit longer as well as making them look a little more volumized.
This Maxfactor mascara caught my eye staright away as I was browsing. It's bright purple colour stood out amongst the rest of the mascaras so I picked it up to see what it had to offer.
This Maxfactor mascara comes in a 13.1ml tube which just simply has the name of the product on the front: 'FALSE LASH EFFECT FUSION Volume and Length'. As you probably would have guessed I bought it straight away as it was exactly what I was looking for (volume and length). The mascara was priced at around £8 which I thought was quite reasonable if it worked.
After rushing home and trying this new product, I would definitely recommend it! The applicator itself is not a soft brush, it has short plastic brissles; this is good for seperating your lashes. When I applied the first stroke of mascara on it left no clumps and still made my lashes look long and a little thicker than they originally were. Although I would recommend to put a second coat on your lashes if u want them to look very volumized.
I wouldn't say that this mascara makes you look like you have the perfect 'false lash' effect but it certainly makes your eye lashes look a lot more noticeable and it is better than buying false lashes all the time as you will save a load of money! This mascara lasted me a whole month and I use it everyday.
Overall....good value for money!
I love Ben & Jerry's ice-cream and I first tried the 'chunky monkey' ice-cream when I was at the cinema a while ago. I thought I would try something different as they had a big selection of different flavours. I knew I would enjoy this flavour in particular because I love nuts, chocolate and bananas. Therefore the combination of all three in one ice-cream was a brilliant choice for me!
I have been looking out for this ice-cream for months and I had no luck finding it. However, yesterday I popped into my local Co-op and thay had an offer on the Ben & Jerry's ice-cream. It was £2 a tub which I thought was very good considering the normal price for a tub. They are normally arounf £4 a tub and the tubs arn't very big. So I was very happy when I saw that they were on offer.
I was even more happy when I saw that they had my new favourite flavour! I bought a few tubs of ice cream including some different flavours that I haddent tried yet.
The 'Chunky Monkey' ice cream consists of a creamy and smooth dairy Ice cream. The ice cream is filled with chocolate bananas and walnuts. If you have read any of my other reviews on food then you would know that I love food that has a lot of different textures and this ice cream has just that. The 'Chunky Monkey' ice cream has a very smooth and soft texture in your mouth and then the banans give a different texture, they add something to the ice cream that you can crunch on and so do the Walnuts.
Over all I think that this ice cream is great for people who enjoy ice cream with a lil kick and something different from the usual choice of 'Vanillia'. It definitly makes a great dessert or a great snack. I would recommend this ice cream, it is now one of my favourite Ben & Jerry's ice creams.
I started using the Nivea Creams a few years ago. I always used to get my lags waxed and I found that the skin on my legs wasnt too dry. However, when I started to shave my legs instead, I found that the skin on my legs was getting very dry so I needed to find a rich moisturiser. I normally have dry skin anyway so I have to moisturise everyday but now that I shave my legs again I have to use a very rich moisturiser.
When I was shopping I came across this moisturiser, I thought that it would be good for me because it is meant to keep your skin moisturised up to 24hours. Therefore I bought this one to try out.
When I tried it I was very happy because it did keep my skin moisturised for 24 hours and it left my skin feeling very soft and smooth. After I had shaved my legs and put this moisturiser on, my legs felt as soft as silk! I was very impressed.
The moisturiser comes in a blue plastic bottle and to get it out all you have to do is squeeze a little out. You wont need much as it is quite rich. The cream is a nice consistancy; it is not to thick but not too runny, it is just right and it is very easy to rub in.
I will be buying this moisturiser again and I will recommend it to anyone!
I have very curly hair and I don't like it so I very often straighten it. However, I am always frightened that my hair will turn very damged and feel like straw so I like to put something on it to protect it.
I normally have naturally shiny hair but because I have been straightening it so often it has lost some of its shine. I have dark hair so it looks quite dull if it doesn't have some kind of shine in it.
I ran out of the usual heat protection that I normally use and when I went to buy some more they were sold out so I had to get another one.I bought the Tresemme' one becaus eit says on the bottle that it helps to protect from heat styling, reduces frizz and adds shine. I thought this would be the right substitute to the normal one I usually buy so I went for it!
The bottle cost me about £2.99 which I thought was quite good because I straighten my hair almost everyday and it last me about 3 months. It comes in a spray bottle and you just spray a little onto your hair to protect it from the heat. It smells very pleasant and disguises the smell from the straighteners. Although I do warm people who have slightly greasy hair at the roots not to spray any on your roots. When I did this I had to wash my hair again. However when I used it again I didn't spray any on my roots, just mainly the ends of my hair and the middle part and my hair wasn't left feeling greasy!
After using this spray I would have to say that I'm not going back to use my old one, I think I will stick with this one because it does the job nicely and protects my hair. It also gave my hair a lovely shine which I was very happy about and it was cheaper! So all round it was a very good product to buy.
I have quite dry skin and I have to moisturise everyday sometimes this can be quite a pain so I try to buy shower creams/gels that have a moisturising effect. I always use Nivea moisturisers so instead of buying my usual shower gel I thought I would try a Nivea shower cream.
I picked this shower cream up because it was only £1 a bottle in Tesco! I thought that it was amazing compared to the price I usually pay for moisturising shower gels.
When I got home I took a shower and tried out the new shower cream. I was impressed because when I got out of the shower I didn't actually have to moisturise again! I got out of the shower feeling very fresh from using this shower cream and it left my skin feeling very soft and smooth!
The shower cream is quite thick and creamy and it comes out of the bottle in a peachy colour. It smells lovely and fruity, which I think will go lovely with the summer. You only need a little bit as it does foam up quite quickly.
The shower cream contains Bambo milk and an Orange Blossom scent which smells amazing! I would definately recommend this shower cream to people especially if they have quite dry skin.
When I took a visit to the shop I picked up these sweets for my little sister. I thought that they would be ideal for her as they do not contain thousands of e-numbers and artificial rubbish. The sweets cost me about £1 which I thought wasn't bad at all for the size and amount that each bag contains.
The sweets came in a white plasctic packet which had a clear bit in the front to show the sweets. On the front of the packet it also states that the sweets contain no artificial colours and no artificial flavours. The back of the packaging contains all of the nutritional information.
Each snake is about 10cm long and each snake contains one fruit flavour. There are four different ruity flavours in each bag, the flavours are:
When my little sister opened the bag she let me try some and I must say that I thurally enjoyed them. The snakes where very soft and smooth but also quite chewy. I think that they are great for children because they are very natural and they are quite soft and easy to eat so you know that they wont hurt their teeth when they try to bite into them.
You do get quite a lot in each bag so they are good to share or just to eat a few at a time. I found them quite filling so if you are planning to give them to your children then I would only give them a few at a time; they sweets come in a plastic bag so they are quite easy to roll downand keep fresh!
I have been having a very bad week eating wise this week and I thought I would start to eat healthier starting from today. However, I was in town shopping and I needed to get some change for the car park. Instead of getting some water I ended up buying 'Mike and Ike' berry blast sweets!
I had never seen them before and their bright blue packet caught my eye. I thought I'd try them as I quite fancied something fruity to nibble on in the car.
The sweets cost me 57p from a shop called 'smile' in the Drake Circus shopping centre. I thought that for the amount you get in the bag they were a little over priced.
The sweets come in a bright blue plastic packet which helps to keep them fresh. On the front of the packet it says 'Mike and Ike' in bold white writing and 'Berry Blast' slightly smaller underneath. At the top of the packet it shows a picture of each sweet and names the flavour. I thought that this was quite helpful because they may contain flavours that you do not particulary enjoy. On the back of the packet there is some info on the nutrition
There are five different flavours:
The flavours are nice as I found that they are sweet and not too over powering!
I was quite happy when I opened the packet and saw the sweets because they were just like jelly beans and I love jelly beans. The only difference is that the shell on the outside of these sweets arn't as hard and instead of curving around like a jally bean, they are just straight.
Each sweet is about 2cm long and they are, as I've mentioned above, a jelly sweet. The outside of the sweet is quite soft but even softer and chewy on the inside. I think that they are great little sweets for both children and adults. They are also great for children because they are small and individual which means that it is easy for you to control their intake of the sweets. I enjoyed them very much when I saw that the sweets were FAT FREE!!
Overall I enjoyed the sweets and I would definately recommed these sweets to other people!

I am recently trying to each a little more healthy so I bought these yogurts from the supermarket. I was debating on whether to get the usual 'Muller Light' yogurts or to try something new. I went with my instinct to try something new and these seemed like the best option for me.
I like fruity things so I guessed that I would probably like the fruity yogurts too. I wasn't sure whether to buy the 'Variety Burst' at first because I'm not a big fan of yogurts which have 'bits' in them. Normally the only yogurts that have 'bits' in them thta I can eat is peach or apricot yogurts. I figured that these yogurts have thoser two flavours in them so if I didn't like the rasberry and strawberry then at least I would be able to enjoy two out of the four!
The yogurts come in quite small pots and have all natural ingredients. They are free from artificials, low in fat and probiotic!
I tried the Peach one first as that is my favourite flavoured yogurt. I was very pleased with this yogurt because it was what I expected: creamy and smooth with small chunks of peach mixed inside. I thought that there was a nice balance of the creamy flavour and the pieces of peach. I found that the Apricot flavour was just as good as the peach flavoured yogurt. They both tasted very natural.
However I wasn't too pleased with the strawberry and rasberry flavoured yogurts. Even though I'm a bit reluctant to eating yogurts with bits inside them, I thought I should give them a chance. The yogurt did taste nice but it had way to many bits inside them for me. However if yogurts with bits inside them do not bother you then I have no doubt that you will enjoy these two flavours. I think that they have a range of 'smooth' yogurts that contain no bits which would be good for me and any overs who have that problem.
Overall I think these yogurts are very nice but not for me!
I usually go for the KP salted nuts but I have been trying to save some money recently. I saw these in Sainsbury's whilst shopping the other day and I thought I would give them a go!
They were only 23p for a packet of 200g, which I thought was quite good. The nuts come in a pretty basic white and orange packaging. Howeber you don't need attractive packaging, all you need in my opinion is to have a good value or quality product.
The nuts look just likie normal peanuts. However if I was to compare them to KP salted nuts, I would say that these nuts are slightly browner then the KP nuts. But this does not effect the taste of the nuts.
They are very salty and are quite crunchy just as they should be. I think that these nuts are great for snacking on now and then and they are also good for putting in bowls for parties.
I wouldn't recommend for people to eat these on a regular basis as they are quite high in fat and salt.
Each 50g serving contains:
-26g of fat
I think that for only a quarter of the bag that is very high, although they are very tasty!
I loved the kinder egga when I was little so I was very happy when they brought out the kinder Bueno as it is very simular and has the same flavour. I think the Bueno is almost the same as the Kinder egga but it is in a different form. This form is more for adults than children I think.
The Bueno comes in the shape of a 'Twix' what I mean by this is: it has two parts. I found that this makes it easy to share. On the other hand if you don't want to share it and you can't eat all of it in one go (which is highly unlikey for me!) then you can keep the other half for later. You won't even have to worry about the other half going stale because the bars are both individualy wrapped inside the outer wrapping.
The Bueno comes in a white and red easy open wrapper which has a picture of the chocolate bar on the front so you can see what it looks like. Inside, as I mentioned above, both of the bars are indiviually wrapped in a clear easy open wrapper.
Each bar is split up into little segments which makes the bar easier to consume or share. Each section contains a smooth halzel nut creamy filling. On top of the hazel nut filling there is an outer crispy shell and then a thin and smooth layer of milk chocolate. The hazel nut filling also tastes quite milky which I think gives it the same kind of taste as the kinder egg.
I think that this chocolate bar is a very nice treat to have once in a while but not to consume daily. I say this because they are very high in fat!
The Bueno contains:
-2.1g of fat
-8.1g of fat!
In my opinion the chocolate bar is very, very tasty but if you are cutting back on the calories and you fat intake then this clearly isn't the right thing to eat.
I love Terry's Chocolate Orange and I was very happy when they brought out the chocolate bars. Before the bars came out they only had the Terry's chocolate orange in the shape of an 'Orange' and they were very popular at Christmas time!
I always used to look forward to eating the chocolate orange, you would have to give it a good tap and the segments would come loose. The chocolate bar is very simular in the fact that it is also split up into segments that you can break easily, the segments are in the shape of an orange. This makes it easy for you to share the bar, or just easier to eat!
The chocolate bar has the flavours, of course, of chocolate and orange. I think that the flavours compliment each other very well. The chocolate is very smooth and I found that the orange flavour is not too over- powering. I thurally enjoy this chocolate bar with a nice cup of tea in the evenings, It helps me to unwind!!
I think that if you liked the original Terry's chocolate Orange then you would definately enjoy this bar, as it has the exact same taste but it is just in the form of a bar. I prefer the milf chocolate version but for those people who so enjoy richer chocolate, they do have a 'dark chocolate' version.
You can buy this chocolate bar in most shops and newsagents for around 50p but the price will vary depending on where you buy it. I also wouldn't recommend this chocolate bar for people who are trying to lose weight or are cutting back on the calories because it is very high in fat and calories. Overall a great treat on the odd occassion!
I was wondering around the supermarket and I came across the Mc Vities Jaffa Cakes. I normally buy the own make Jaffa Cakes. However the Mc Vities Jaffa cakes were on offer for £1 for a box of 24. I thought that this was such a good bargain that I had to pick up a box.
I really enjoy Jaffa Cakes as they are slightly different from normal biscuits. Which brings me to the debate of : are they a biscuit or a cake? Most people call them biscuits, however, the name of the product is 'cake'!
The Jaffa Cakes come in a blue cardboard box and have 'Jaffa Cakes' written in orange writing that looks quite like orange peel. Each Jaffa cake is about the size of a small cookie. It has a sponge base with a layer of tangy orange jelly and then a very thin layer of dark chocolate on top.
The sponge is a golden brown colour and it is quite sweet. The Jelly is very sweet and it has a tangy orange flavour and the dark chocolate is very thin and it cracks very easily. I think that the mixture of the hard, soft and spongey textures make the 'Jaffa Cake' quite exciting to eat...better than a plain normal biscuit in my opinion! Also the mixture of flavours are great too.
There are many ways in which to eat your Jaffa Cake and at one point they did have an advert out on T.V. The advert shows a woman eating a jaffa cake making different shapes....'full moon' (the whole jaffa cake) 'half moon' (half the jaffa cake) and 'total eclipse' (she's eaten it all). However I prefer to nibble mine around the edge, eat the sponge then peel the chocolate off and eat the jelly last, as it is my favourite part!
These biscuits/cakes are great for tea parties because they are that little bit more exciting compared to other biscuits. They are very popular with children and I would definatley recommend them!
Each Jaffa Cake contains:
-1g of fat
-6g of sugar
The Caramac chocolate bar reminds me of childhood! I would be allowed a treat at the weekend and I would quite often choose the Caramac. My sister went to the shop to buy some munch for us both and came back with one of these! I was very excited as I havn't eaten one of these chocolate bars since I was very little.
The Caramac is one of the many items that is made from 'Nestle'. It comes in a very bright red and yellow packet, which seemed to catch my eye as it stood out from the rest of the sweets and chocolate.
The bar itself is very thin but quite long. I think that this is good because I find that Caramacs can be quite sickening. If the bar was chunky like a a bar of Galaxy then it would simply be to much! The bar is divided into rectangular sections; each section has 'Caramac' pressed into it. Me and my sister shared this bar of chocolate so the rectangular sections made it easy to divide equally and share.
The taste of the Caramac bar is quite rich and sweet! It has a very unique taste and is definately now one of my favourite chocolate bars. You can purchase these bars for around 35p in most shops but the price will vary depending on where you buy it. If you are not too fond on very sweet things then this is not the right chocolate for you. On the other hand if you have a sweet tooth, then it is perfect!
Recently the weather has started to brighten up, so I thought that I should stock up on ice lollies and ice cream. I was in Tesco and went to the freezer section to see the selection they had. Normally I go to Iceland to get things like this as they are normally cheaper. I was pleasently suprised when I saw that they had offers on a variety of their ice lollies.
I was attracted to the 'Fruit Pastilles' lollies because the bright packaging stood out from the rest, plus they were only 99p a box. There are four in a box which makes this a good bargain! I picked up a few boxes as I think it's always grab these kind of things while you can when they are on offer. I'm not sure what the normal price is for a box of four but I don't think that they are too expensive, I know that they wont be as expensive as they are on an ice cream van!
The lollies are very fruity and they are made from real fruit juices which I thought was very good, as some ice lollies are mostly made from artificial flavours. I really enjoyed these ice lollies because they are different flavours! On each ice lolly there is 5 different flavours. The flavours are seperated into even sections on the lolly.
When I was eating mine I was stupidly wearing a white top and the lolly dripped onto me. I couldn't get the stain out so I would warn people to be careful not to get it on their clothes. I found that they ice lollies taste very fruity and they are nice and light. They are very low in calories and are probably one of the healthier and better choices of ice lollies. I think that they are nice and refreshing and it was just what I needed on a hot day. I'm glad that I stocked up on them and I will be looking out for them in the future too.
