As a busy Mum I brought this product to save time having to blow dry then straighten my hair. The first time I used it, it was a bit scary! You use the product on towel dried hair and the recommended setting is 230 degrees. As your hair is still wet quite a bit of steam is produced and it does make a funny noise. Initially I was worried about the amount of steam, but it is harmless! The trick to get the best out of this product is to straighten the hair very slowly to allow it time to dry otherwise you will have to keep going over the same parts.
The LED display is very clear and tells you which temperature it is currently set to, it is very user friendly and you can easily alter the temperature using the buttons.
Personally I found the recommended heat setting too high for my hair and it caused it to feel very dry and damaged however once you have the right heat setting it works very well. My hair is prone to going wavy shortly after straightening however these straightners are on par with GHD at maintaining the straightened hair.
Great time saver and good for use on dry hair too a must for everyone :) They also come with a heat proof carry case which is great for ensuring you dont ruin surfaces.
When my baby had his first set of immunisations I was advised by the nurse to buy a bottle of this to give to him if he seemed sore and restless afterwards. I bought a small bottle and it cost around £2.60 you get a spoon in the box with it however I found using a syringe much easier- the pharamacy give these to you if you ask free of charge.
This medicine seems to work really quickly, within 10 mins of giving this to my child he seems better he relaxes and stop crying and it normally enables him to sleep. I have not have problems giving it to him, nor other children, older children generally like the taste of it so it is easier to give to them than some alternatives.I have also found this very good for babies when teething is really bad and the gels aren't helping.
I really think that this is a must for any household with children in. It can be given to children from the age of 2 months which I believe is younger than some other brands and is paracetamol based. It is a little sticky so keep a baby wipe to hand when administering it.
Heniz baby food are packaged in little tins with a pull ring at the top. I bought one of these jars to feed my son when we were out for the day. I didn't have a bowl so i intended to feed him straight from the pot like I would a jar. My baby saw the food and got excited and grabbed the tin to get the food and it was sharp enough to cut him. Obviously this was very distressing for him, me and his grandparents and as a result I would not buy their food again.
I understand that the tins are not for the children but I feel that they should envisage this type of incident occuring and the tins should not be sharp enouch to cut anybody. For this reason I would only consider buying pre made baby food from the jars in future.
Previous to this he had tried a few of the flavours and did enjoy them, they do a sausage and beans one which I gave him for breakfast occasionally and he enjoyed the change from his regular breakfasts.
Like most parents I have lost an endless amount of my babys socks and had a draw full of odd socks. I was also getting bored with the 'game' of baby pulling his socks off every few minutes. I was recommended these by a play worker at our local playgroup and they sounded great.
I paid about £2.50 for one pair and they had a very good choice of colours and designs. They made of a similar fabric to swimming costumes and you put it on top of the sock to prevent baby pulling them off. I was a bit disappointed however as they were quite tight on my babys foot. He was 4 months when I tried to use them and is quite a thin baby but they seemed to squeeze his foot. I would try this product again on a younger baby but for me they were a disappointment.
I feel that if I have bought these when he was a new born the product would have been much more beneficial and would have helped to keep his feet warm. I will be buying these for friends with new babys as it is a really useful product however it would be good if they had more sizes for the more active, wiggly babies.
I bought these when my baby was a newborn as he kept poking himself in the eye and scratching his face and it was getting sore. I bought loads of different brands but compared to other makes I really like the quality of these ones. They are very soft and are quite thick, they do look and feel nice.
These are quite pricey compared to other brands I paid around £2.50 for 2 pairs however they do have some nice designs to choose from.
Like all scratch mitts, they are prone to falling off and it isn't long before baby figures out how to pull them off! However I found that the band that goes around the wrist was quite effective compared to other makes I'd bought. For me, these were invaluable for use when my baby was asleep and the range of designs meant I could co-ordinate them with his outfits.
If you do need scratch mitts these are quite good ones to buy however I would buy some cheaper ones too as they get lost very easily!
I brought these for my one year old for about £4 in Morrisons and he loves them! They come in a variety of colours and are made of thick foam, my child likes to bite them and they are still intact! One side is smooth and the other has ridges on but both sides stick very well. When wet they will stick to the tiles, bath very well and look quite good!
The container they come in is a handy storage jar, once you have used the letters if you put them in the jar and tip it upside down so the lid is at the bottom itll air the letters, due to holes in the lid which prevents them going mouldy. Due to the holes in the lid, it also doubles up as a bath toy itself!
My son loves sticking these all over the bath and enjoys playing with them throughout the day as well, I often find them scattered around the house! They will be a great help teaching him to spell and are good fun. I would recommend this high quality product.
I brought this product for baby massage classes, we were told to bring a natural baby oil and I didn't have a clue where to start! I looked in Boots and found this which looked ideal, it was a bit pricy at almost £3 compared to regular baby oil but I thought we'd try it.
The oil is very slippery so only a very small amount is required at a time so the bottle lasts for ages, we've been doing baby massage for a year now and we're still on our first bottle. I find it this brand is very easy to work with and applies very smoothly so massage is very easy.
The oil is very gentle on the skin, my baby suffered eczema for a while and this seemed to help rather than aggrevate it. It leaves baby feel nice and soft and does wonders for your hands!
I will be sticking to this brand and would recommend it to anyone attending baby massage classes, it is a little dear but does last ages so is worth the extra.
I brought these cups for about £1.99 in Morrisons for my son for Christmas and they are one of the toys he still enjoys playing with 8 months later! My son plays with these cups everyday. These cups are all brightly coloured in different colours which keeps the child engaged in the toy.
The cups all have little holes at the bottom making them perfect for playing with water. Each one also has a little picture on the bottom which can be used as little 'stamps' for imprinting sand and play dough. These cups are great for improving hand- eye coordination through stacking them and my child enjoys putting things in them.
They are very good quality and durable they have not marked at all despite being thrown numerous times and chewed. These little cups have given my son hours of fun, I would recommend them to anyone and they make the perfect small gift.
The lotion has the lovely Johnsons 'smell' with a hint of lavendar which smells lovely and is suitable for baby and Mum! The lotion leaves skin feeling really soft and smelling gorgeous.
I use this lotion after bathing baby and for me, I don't think it makes him more sleepy than using regular baby lotion as I think the process of giving baby a massage makes him sleepy anyway however he does enjoy it and does seem to like the lotion.
My baby suffers from slightly dry skin and this lotion is good at putting moisture back into it and making it lovely and soft. It is a lovely consistency not too thick or running which means that it is very easy to apply, even if your baby is in a wriggly mood.
Personally I do feel relaxed after using this product, I think I'm ready for bed bedfore baby after using it!
I signed up to the Boots Parenting Club whilst I was pregnant and was pleased to recieve this bag, it was one thing ticked off the endless list of baby things I needed! My baby is now 1 and I am still using this bag and have never felt the need to buy a different one.
The bag has a large compartment with which is divided into 2 sections, the main area has a foiled area to keep a bottle fresh (if heated it also keeps it warm for ages) and the smaller section has a changing mat. The front of the bag has 2 pockets which are easy to open as they are magnetic and are handy for keeping little toys, your phone etc in.
The strap is fully adjustable so its perfect for mum and dad and the neutral colour mean anyone would feel comfortable using it and would be suitable for a baby boy or girl. The strap has a metal fastening on which is very handy to attach a toy to allowing you to keep baby entertained on the go.
This bag is big enough to carry all the essentials you need when your out and about and is lightweight.
This is a great bag and fantastic for free, worth a go as changing bags tend to be quite pricey!
When I was pregnant I was really worried about bathing my baby and spent a lot of time researching aids to help me, I was under the impression that a wet baby would be like a wet bar of soap and I was sure I would drop him. I really wanted something that would help me support the child whilst he was in the bath and for me this was perfect. My midwife did say that this type of product was one of the most helpful.
This aid is essentially a giant thick sponge which you lay the baby in whilst its in the bath. You run the bath so the water is shallower than the sponge, make sure that you get it wet before you put baby on it so baby doesnt get cold. The baby fits into the sponge and frees up a hand to wash them with.
It is really easy to lift baby out of as it offers a bit of grip. I used this for the first few months with my newborn and it really helped me gain confidence with bathtime and it became an enjoyable part of our day.
I would thoroughly recommend this to all new parents, just make sure that you rinse it out after each use to prevent it going mouldy.
These nappies are the cheaper Pampers nappies and they are cheaper for a reason. The nappies look cheaper than their other ones they are white with a small strip across the top with pictures on. They are quite soft to feel and are padded.
The main problem I have with these nappies is they tend to leak, this is especially a problem at nightime, the bedding gets wet. I have also noticed that the nappies tend to split at night when they get heavy which leaves small glue type dots everywhere and they are quite difficult to get off the baby. The first time this happened I was alarmed as I didn't know where they had come from however after looking online it appears other people have also had this problem.
These nappies are not reliable and I find they don't keep their shape at all in the changing bag and become squashed. They are cheaper, but they are a waste of money in my opinion I would always spend a little extra for a lot more quality.
I bought these wipes to use to clean baby up after eating and he was going through so many brand name wipes it was costing me a fortune. These wipes are less than 40p a packet and for that price they are perfect for sticky fingers and mucky faces. I also use these after crafts activities such as painting they are very good at cleaning babies and surfaces covered it paint!
The wipes are quite thin compared to premium brands and they are quite wet rather than moist, you can squeeze a bit of liquid out of them. They don't smell of anything and they are a basic wipes.
Personally I wouldn't use them for nappy changes but they do save me a fortune using these for all other jobs.I do find however that the reseal packet isn't great and the wipes tend to dry out after they have been open for a week or so. No fancy packaging but do the job well.
Intially I was very sceptical about these nappies as they are a lot thinner than the regular nappies and I thought we were going to have lots of leaking nappies- but I was happily proved wrong!
The nappy itself is a lot thinner but this allows baby alot more freedom to moves, since I started using these my baby has been climbing everything a lot more than before he also seems to walk more I think it makes it easier for him to move than the thicker ones.
These nappies are very absorbant and last all night without any leaking. I find that they tend to last a little longer than the other nappies.
The design is Sesame Street characters which is suitable for either gender however I do find the lilac colour of the nappies a little feminine.
I will continue to use these nappies and I feel they offer baby a bit more freedom and work really well. I think they are good value for money.
These nappies are similar to pull ups in their design, they are like pants you put the babys legs in and pull them up rather than having the tabs. They are really easy to take back off you just rip the sides and the nappy comes off like a regular nappy or alternatively you can just pull them off.
They have disney character designs on them which are suitable for boys and girls. They can be worn on their own in the swimming pool as they look like swimming attire or they easily fit under swimming costumes.
I have used these on my little boy both in a public swimming pool and in his paddling pool and they have worked perfectly everytime. They hug his body very well so nothing can escape and there have never been any accidents. I will continue using these as long as he is in nappies as they are very trustworthy and reliable and he seems very comfortable in them. I would recommend them to anyone.
