I have recently become a Benefit addict, so far I have not been disappointed. This pink liquid highlighter accents cheek & brow bones for a radiant glow. Use as a spot highlighter or delicately blend all over your complexion. -- Packaging -- I have really noticed how far Benefit go to make there products stand out and I can honestly say that they always have grabbed my attention. This little beauty came presented wonderfully. The highlighter comes in a glass long clear tube with a plastic white cap, the product itself is pink which you can see through the bottle is shimmery. The packaging for this one is fairly simple but very effective. It comes contained in a pink square cardboard box with bold writing on the front stating the name of the product and directions and it's uses on the back. I would say that I am a girly girl so anything pink grabs my attention! The packaging is elegant and very delightful. -- Price -- As I am a student, I only have time for a part time job which of course means I don't have a great deal of money. I would say for me this is quite expensive being £18.50, although it is expensive I can see this product lasting me a very long time as a little goes a long way. The quality of the product is also very high and so it is worth the extra pennies. -- Application -- You can apply this product many ways. I use it various different ways depending on my mood, how much time I have and whether I am applying a full face of make-up or not. On a day where I am applying a full face of make-up I will apply this after applying my foundation but before applying my blusher/bronzer. I simply dot this along my cheek bones, a dot on my brow bone and a small dot above my cupids bow. I find this is really effective and really brightens your features and gives your face more definition. On a day where I am in a rush and either wearing little or no make-up I tend to mix a little bit of this with my moisturiser which is extremely effective at brightening the face and texture. I have heard many other ways of using this product, but those in particular have been the most effective for me. -- Effect -- I found this product to be extremely effective. It brightened up my dull and tired skin and the shimmer gave my face a dewy texture and appearance which looks very flattering. It's very easy to apply and blends in wonderfully whether I'm using my mineral powder or liquid foundation. It also outlines my cheekbones adding dimension and beautiful texture to my skin. It also made my eyebrows more defined and my eyes pop! -- Final thoughts -- I believe that this product is fantastic, the price may be expensive but as you only need to use a little of the product at a time and the quality of the product makes it worth while. I would definitely buy this again and would recommend this to anyone who feels their dull, tired skin needs awakening and a little pick me up!
I started using mineral make-up about a year ago. This is due to having acne prone skin, I found that liquid foundations blocked my pores and made my skin feel heavy and uncomfortable. I have tried a few brands and this is one that I have stuck by since first trying it out 6 months ago. Finely milled mineral foundation SPF 15 that buffs into the skin effortlessly, and allows custom coverage when applied in buildable layers. Made from natural ingredients to ensure the skin is kept clean and healthy, minimising breakouts and blemishes. -- Packaging -- The packaging is simple but effective. It comes in a 10g Sifter pot, this makes it easy to dispense the desired amount of product without making a mess. The pot is clear so it is very easy to see how much you have left, the lid is also extremely useful to tip your product into and apply it with a brush from there. -- Price -- I find the price to be extremely reasonable at 12.49 you can't really go wrong. You receive a 10g pot and as you only need to use a little bit at a time, this goes an extremely long way. -- Application -- The product is very easy to apply, simply tap a little into the lid swirl your brush around and tap off any excess powder. Then gently buff into your skin, only use a little bit at a time as coverage can be built up, you don't want to over do it and make it appear obvious. I tend to apply this using a kabuki brush as it's really good for heavier coverage. But any powder brush will be effective. -- Available shades -- Porcelain - Very pale, neutral with balanced undertones China Doll - Pale, with balanced undertones Blondie - Light, neutral with balanced undertones Candy Cane - Light, cool with pink undertones Warm peach - Light, warm with peach undertones Barely Buff - Light, neutral with balanced undertones In the buff - Light-medium, neutral with balanced undertones Popsicle - Light-medium, cool with pink undertones Popcorn - Light-medium, warm with peach undertones Cookie - Medium, neutral with balanced undertones Cool Caramel - Medium, cool with pink undertones Warm Honey - Medium, warm with peach undertones Butterscotch - Medium, olive with yellow undertones Dusky - Tan, neutral with balanced undertones Coffee Bean - Tan, warm with peach undertones Saffron - Tan, olive with yellow undertones Hot Chocolate - Deep tan, warm with peach undertones Cinnamon - Deep tan, olive with yellow undertones -- Effect -- This foundation is gorgeous, not only is it easy to apply but it is extremely lightweight and I sometimes forget I'm even wearing any make-up. The coverage is very good and is easy to build up if you need heavier coverage like I tend to need. I do find that if I overload the brush my face tends to look a little dry and powdery, but since I've been applying a little at a time and making sure that I buff it in completely, it has been a lot more effective and very natural looking. As this is a powder, it does not cover every single blemish, but it make's them much less visible. This has really helped turn my skin around because all of the ingredients are natural. I now only get breakouts at that lovely time of the month -_- -- Final thoughts -- This product is all round the greatest mineral foundation I have used, it's easy to apply, cheap and is fantastic for oily, acne prone skin and has the added bonus of including SPF 15 so it even protects my skin during the hot weather. The quality of the product is very high and one pot last's me about 2-3 months. Would definitely recommend!
I am a huge fan of Lily Lolo mineral make-up. It is the only thing that doesn't irritate my sensitive, acne prone skin. I use there foundation, bronzer, concealer and finishing powder. I recently purchased the Cover up in shade blush away, this is a green tinted concealer which is to combat redness, acne and other blemishes. It encompasses natural healing properties. -- Packaging -- I love Lily Lolo's packaging because it is simple and always easy to dispense the desired amount of product. This comes in a 4g sifter pot, the lid unscrews and is really useful for tapping your product into before then applying with a brush. The container is also see through which makes it easier to see how much product is left. -- Price -- I find the price to be extremely reasonable at varying between £7 and £8. As you only need a little bit of the product at a time, I assume this would last a long time just like the foundation has done in the past for me. -- Application -- To apply this I simply tap a little bit into the lid, I apply using a concealer brush, making sure to tap off any excess so my face doesn't look too powdery. This is really easy to build up the coverage especially if you have a lot of redness, acne or scaring. This can take a little while to get used to buffing it in properly, as it does tend to leave a green tint to the areas applied, but once you've done it a few times it just comes naturally. I also tend to apply this before my foundation, just so that when I do come to apply my foundation if there is a green tint, the extra buffing tends to hide this easily so don't worry to much. -- Available shades -- Blush away - Great for redness, acne and scaring Peepo - Great for dark circles under the eyes -- Effect -- I find this corrector absolutely brilliant and the best thing I have ever used to cover up my redness and acne scarring. It blends in perfectly once you get used to having to buff it in. When I first bought this I was a little worried as I could never seem to get the green powder to blend to the colour of my skin, but once I watched a video on Lily Lolo's website I learned how to buff it in perfectly using small, circular motions. I have definitely noticed the difference to the appearance of my skin even without make-up since I started using this, which I believe is to do with the included healing properties. The amount of breakouts I get has been reduced considerably which is great as I only have to use a small amount of this product of faded scars. The coverage is brilliant as it is easily built up, it covers everything which is perfect and really makes a difference when you apply your foundation. My skin looks healthier and has a beautiful glow that I haven't seen since before my teenage years. I have had problems with make-up only lasting a couple of hours before my face starts to go shiny and imperfections start to show through, but with this I can go without reapplying or touching up my make up all day, as the lasting power is absolutely fantastic. I can see this pot lasting a really long time as a little goes a very long way, you really do get the most out your money. -- Final thoughts -- I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has skin insecurities such as redness, acne and scaring as this is great for covering up all those imperfections and hopefully in the long run making your skin healthier. Great price for a great product!
I suffer from quite bad bags, due to having an over-active thyroid giving me insomnia. On a little trip to Home Bargains browsing through the beauty section, I came across this little beauty. I have used various brands of eye creams, most of them achieving wonderful results, but also over time burning a whole in my pocket. -- Price and Availability -- This can be found in Home bargains for a wonderful £1 and can also be found in various online stores at around £2.50. The price is very reasonable, even if you don't find the product does much for you at least you never spent a ridiculous amount of money. -- Appearance -- The long thin plastic, white tube comes in a little green cardboard box with various information on the front. Also the packaging is very simplex, it is also quite eye catching. The roll on itself has a green plastic cap, keeping the roll on secure and preventing leakages. On the box it contains information such as the name of the product, the ingredients and what the product is for. -- Application -- This is very easy to apply, I like to apply this morning and night after cleansing my face and before applying my moisturiser. -- My experience -- I have tried many eye creams and roll on all producing similar results but all with a fairly expensive price tag. Seeing as this was only a £1, it was worth giving it a shot. I really like this product, as it made my eyes feel cool, tingly and refreshed. It made my eyes look more awake and it smells quite nice too, the very faint scent of cucumbers which is nice and refreshing. All though this hasn't cleared all signs of my under eye bags, it has made some improvement and made me feel more awake. As it was only a £1 I think the results are brilliant. I haven't had really any problems with this product, it does tend to dry underneath your eyes out so if you do make-up after using I do recommend applying your moisturiser after using this rather than before. I have had this for a fair few months now and safe to say there is still plenty left. Overall this product is good and not too bad quality, it may not be the best I've used. But for the price, it's definitely good. I will use this more often in the future, but I will also be sticking to my more expensive brands when I feel my eyes need more of a wakeup than this can provide.
For the last few months I have been trying to leave my hair as long as possible without washing. If you wash your hair too frequently for example every day it removes your hairs natural oils which help to protect and moisture the hair. So instead of washing my hair every other day, I am washing it every 3-4 days. When I first started doing this my hair was becoming greasy quickly, so after recommendations of this product from friends, I headed straight to the shop. -- Some information -- A beauty secret for over 30 years, Batiste Dry Shampoo is a must-have for girls who have more fun things to do than wash their hair! Batiste is an essential beauty "life saver" product that will leave your hair smelling fragrant and looking fabulous in seconds. (From Superdrug website) -- The claim -- The essence of femininity, Blush is the floral, flirty way to turn heads. A few quick sprays instantly leaves hair feeling clean, fresh and full of body and texture. -- Price and Availability -- Batiste blush comes in two sizes, 150ml which is the large size and a 50ml travel size. The price varies between stores the travel size is roughly around £1.50 and the large size is roughly £3. This is widely available in super markets, drug stores and on various websites online. I believe the price is very good, the larger size is better value for money, but the travel size is great if your not sure if your like the scent. There are many different scents from the batiste range, I have only ever used batiste blush, but looking forward to experimenting with the others. -- Appearance -- Batiste blush comes in a can with a spray dispenser. The can is colourful, using the colours baby pink, hot pink, green and white to make the dry shampoo stand out. It comes with a secure green plastic lid which ensures it is protected to prevent leakages. On the front shows some information including the name of the product, directions of use and the ingredients. -- Directions -- On the can it gives you some easy and useful directions. Firstly shake the can well before applying and spray the desired amount to areas of the hair. Continue by massaging the powder spray into your scalp, this is very it is increases the volume of your hair. Lastly brush out to make sure you distribute the product evenly throughout. -- My experience -- I am extremely fond of this product, as I have never tried any other dry shampoos I have nothing to compare it to. It leaves my hair feeling refreshed, clean and smelling gorgeous! I wouldn't recommend only using this and never washing your hair, as I expect it will build up and leave your hair feeling disgusting. But using between washes it's brilliant, especially if your always on the go and don't have time to wash your hair. I love the volume it gives you just by you massaging it into your hair, I find there is no need for me to use any further products to create further volume after using. I also tend to use this before a night out the volume is amazing! The scent is very fruity and flirty as the product claims, if you use to much it can be slightly over-powering and has made me feel a little sick, but this was when I started using this and applied way to much! The smell does tend to linger for a long time, which is great especially if you haven't washed your hair for a while. I am looking forward to trying out the others in the batiste range and hopefully they will be just as good if not better than this product. There is no major faults for this product, only that I would not recommend using this instead of washing your hair as over time it could cause a build up and leave your hair quite dirty. I also find that if I do use to much of this product, it does make my hair look a little dull and dry. So only use in the most needed areas, as after you brush the remaining product throughout the hair. -- Conclusion -- This is a fantastic product and would definitely recommend this for use in between washes. Leaves hair feeling refreshed, clean and smelling glorious!
On my recent trip to Newcastle by plane, I was told I couldn't take liquids that were more than 100ml. So I decided to have a little look around Superdrug and came across these nail polish remover pads. As they were a good price and came in a cute little packaging, I thought they would be ideal and it also saved me some room in my suitcase. -- Appearance -- The packaging is what instantly me attracted to these nail polish pads. The pads come in a gorgeous lilac, circular pot with an screw able lid. The lid keeps the pads secure from drying out and maintains there moisture. On the front of the pot, the brand logo, the name of the product and the fact that they are conditioning is displayed. On the back is some other useful information including the ingredients contained. -- Price and Availability -- I purchased this pot for £1.39, you approximately get 20 pads. I find that 20 pads is more than enough and as I will only be using them when I'm travelling I can see them lasting me a long time. I have had these a couple of months and have only used about 5 in that time. You can get this either in Superdrug stores or on their website. They are extremely easy to find and a great price. -- Using the pads -- The pads are easy to use and very handy to have on you. If your like me I hate having chipped nail polish, so if during college I get chipped nail polish, I feel the need to have to remove all of it as It makes me feel untidy. When using the pads I like to apply pressure with the pad, holding it down for a few seconds before wiping away the polish. This ensures that the polish comes off easily and leaving no residue. I find that using 1 pad is enough for both hands/feet, as they are extremely moist. -- My experience -- These pads are effortless to use and require little time. They are extremely economical as you only need one per use for either both hands or feet. They are extremely moist and this enables you to be able to remove all residue polish and is great for getting the nooks and crannies. The pads state they are conditioning, I actually find this to be true. Usually after using the bottles of nail polish remover, I tend to find that my nails look very dry and flaky. After using this wipes my nails look the same as If I have just applied hand moisturiser, which I think is absolutely brilliant what more could you ask for? As you receive a reasonable amount of pads for an extremely cheap price and the fact you only need to use one each time. These are definitely worth the money and being high quality in standards, this was definitely a well worth purchase. The pot is cute and small enough to take with you anywhere, the lid also ensures there is no spillages of the product and also helps to keep the pads moist. These have been sitting in my drawer for a couple of months now waiting for there next road trip and they are as moist as when I first bought them. Result! I would definitely recommend these pads as they are handy, economical, easy to use and at such a low price you can't go wrong. I can't fault these whatsoever. -- Conclusion -- Over a great product, which I will continue to use throughout my holidays and trips. Great price for a fantastic quality.
I have used quite a few of John Frieda products and can honestly say only a small amount of them haven't been disappointing. I bought this from boots when I first got a perm, as when I woke up in the morning my hair would be frizzy, the curls would be limp and my hair would look lifeless. As this product claims to 'Transform wilted waves & curls into sexy swerves, curves & spirals'. It also states that it doesn't leave hair crispy, fights frizz and leaves hair looking shiny. I thought to myself what a big claim to make and a high price tag to pay, but I was willing to try anything. -- Price and Availability -- This product came me found in various stores, including drug stores, super markets and various shops online. The price tends to vary between them all but is roughly around £6. I bought this from Boots for £5.29 for 200ml. The price I thought was quite expensive, but if it does live up to the claims then its money well spent. -- Appearance -- The product comes in a white thin long plastic tube, with a blue lid. On the front is a label stating the name of the product, the brand logo and on the back ingredients and directions of use. The bottle also has a spray dispenser, this allows you to use the perfect amount, effortlessly. -- Application -- This is very easy to use, you can use it on both damp and wet hair. After washing my hair I like to scrunch the water out using a towel and let it air dry for a few minutes before apply this product. When I am satisfied that my hair is damp, I like to spray my hair from roots to tips, evenly distributing the product. I like to scrunch my hair as I go along, after this process my curls in fairness do look slightly more defined and bouncy. As my hair is damp, I find it hair to see whether it is less frizzy or shiny. To use on dry hair, I like to spray a small amount all over and repeat the scrunching process. Again I have to wait to see any signs of improvement, whilst I wait for my hair to settle. -- My experience -- I was extremely disappointed with this product, I barely thought any of the claims were relevant. After using on wet hair, it didn't keep my curls defined for very long and after waking up the next morning my hair would be exactly the same as it usually would, limp, lifeless and curls nowhere need defined as they should be. On the other hand it did give a slight sheen to my hair, but it was still very frizzy. After using on dry hair and the product had settled, I did see some slight improvements. The frizz wasn't as apparent and my hair still had a slight sheen. As for really defining and transforming the curls, it did nothing whatsoever. After spending £5 on a product that did not live up the claims and definitely wasn't of good quality, I was extremely disappointed that I had wasted my money. I found the packaging to be nice and simple, liked that it came with a spray dispenser. The product may have reduced frizz slightly and made it shiny, it did not live up to its main claim. I did find that it didn't make my hair crispy, which I did like as after using mousse I tend to find this can be a problem. I did continue to use the product to see if it was something that would take more than a couple of uses for you to notice the difference. But I still didn't find any improvement and decided so that I did waste my money, to use it together with mousse with did a much better job. After using John Frieda's products, I have finally come to the conclusion that the brand isn't as good as they make out to be and seriously doubt that unless I see the results on someone first, I will not be purchasing their expensive products. -- Conclusion -- Overall the product left a slight sheen and has a little less frizz. But as the product did not live up to its main claim to transform my curls, I wouldn't re-purchase this product nor any other from the brand, without seeing results. A lot of money wasted on a poor quality product.
Last week on my way around the town, I decided to pop into New Look and have a look at there new arrivals. Whilst on my way round I came across this lovely styled, casual Neppy Front Tie Top. As the price was very reasonable, I picked a colour that would be the most versatile. So I picked up the colour 'Cream Marl'. As I also get student discount I get an extra 10% off all purchases, which is fantastic. -- Appearance -- The top is very simple, plain and very casual. It is one that you could easily dress up with some cute accessories or dress down with a pair of jeans. The high neck top, has a tie located at the bottom which is great as you can either tie it lightly to add a little bit more shape to your figure or leave baggy which I have (especially after eating a big meal) which gives you a little bit more room. There are four colour choices which is Cream Marl, Charcoal, Spicy Orange and Green. It nice to see that the colour range has a couple more vibrant choices for the summer ahead. This is a vest top style with the thick straps, instead of spaghetti straps. It is also a fairly good length, but if you wanted it to show a little belly flesh this can easily be achieve by moving the top up slightly and tying it tighter for it to hold there. -- Price and Availability -- The tops are priced at £6.99 which I think is a very good price for the quality and style of the top. It is available in New Look stores and on their online website. -- My Experience -- This top is a wonderful statement piece in my wardrobe, I have decided I will be going back to repurchase the Green and Spicy Orange to add a little bit more colour to my summer! I find the top very versatile as the Cream Marl goes very well with various outfits. You could also where this on a night out, tucked into a skirt with a few added accessories and heels to dress it up a little. I would say this is more of a casual top, but having the option to be able to dress it up is wonderful, especially if your like me and run out of outfit ideas for nights out. It is fairly thin material which will keep you nice and cool in the summer. As it is a little chilly at the moment, the thickness isn't ideal but it does go well with a nice cardigan. I do sometimes find that with some tops the material under my arms irritates and leaves me with a rash, but so far so good and have not experienced any of this. I would definitely recommend this, it's a great staple. I also asked my mum to wash this on a cooler wash, as I didn't know what the material may turn out like if it was put in a hotter wash. The material is made of 80% Polyester and 20% Viscose. On the website it does state 'Look after me, love your planet wash at 30 degrees'. So I will continue to wash on cool and fingers crossed the material reasonably nice. -- Conclusion -- I would recommend this as it is great for the summer months, nice and thinnish material to keep you cool. It is also very versatile, so easy to either dress up or down. Great price and can't wait to grab more!
-- Reasons for buying -- Make up academy provides make-up trends on a budget, allowing you to achieve the latest looks without breaking the bank. When I came across this brand for the first time in Superdrug I decided I would swap some of my more expensive products for some of the cheaper products in the MUA range. One of the swaps I made was for this Pressed powder. -- Price and Availability -- The MUA range is only available in Superdrug stores and on their website . This pressed powder was £1 which is a brilliant price, even if the quality of the product isn't fantastic, as least you didn't burn a hole in pocket just trying it. There are four shades available which are named 1-4, 1 being the lightest and 4 being the darkest. -- Appearance -- The pressed powder comes in a square plastic palette, with a transparent lid with the 'MUA' logo on the front and the name of the product displayed at the bottom of the lid. -- Using the pressed powder -- It would of been nice if the powder came with an applicator such as a sponge or a brush, but as the price is very small it is quite a lot to expect. I tend to apply this over my base, foundation and concealer to set my make-up and remove any visible shine. I like to apply this with a brush as I find it gives the smoothest and most natural finish. When I applied it with a sponge, I found it was quite heavy on my skin and as my skin would start to shine, the powder would start to go patchy in places. -- My experience -- I found the pressed to be very good, when using the right applicator for me (a large powder brush) I found it very light on my skin and it didn't seem to clog my pores, it also set my make-up wonderfully. I also found that my face was much less shiny throughout the day and I only have to reapply once on a night out (usually from all the heat and dancing). I was glad to find that the first colour I chose, was the perfect shade for my skin. The price I find extremely cheap as I would normally pay between £4 - £6 for a good quality powder. I did find that the number of shades was very limited only supplying 4 which is a shame as it can be hard for some people to find the right depth and shade of colour. But again as this is such a low budget range it is quite a lot to expect. I believe that if they were to provide a larger variety of shades, more people would become familiar with the brand and use it more often. I also found that the powder was very firm in the palette, which did make a little vary of using it as I thought it would be too heavy on my skin. But the firmness I believe stops the powder from breaking up as easily, which I also tend to find with powders. The quality of the product isn't the best but is definitely worth the £1. After using it a few times and experimenting with different ways of apply, how much I apply at a time, you soon find which works best for your skin. -- Conclusion -- Overall this is a great little product and not to bad quality either. The price is excellent and I can definitely see myself repurchasing in the future. Maybe if there was a wider variety of shades people would be more open to try it. Great budget brand, looking forward to experimenting with more of there products.
-- Reasons for buying -- On my weekly shop around Asda, I was in the beauty department and came across this body wash. I have used Simple's skin care products and they were absolutely brilliant. As this stated it was refreshing, I thought it would be excellent to use first this in the morning before my daily routine to give me a little boost and wake me up. -- The claim -- Our refreshing shower gel is a perfect blend of active ingredients and vitamin goodness to cleanse and purify your skin. Perfect for even sensitive skin. -- Price and Availability -- I bought this from Asda for £2, it is widely available in super markets, drug stores and in many online stores varying slightly in price. I believe the price is very reasonable for the 250ml that your receive, I use this most morning and it lasts me about 3 weeks which I think is ideal. -- Appearance -- The body wash is a gel like texture, the gel is white in colour and very creamy. It comes in a plastic transparent squeezable container. The lid is attached at the bottom of the container, which makes it easier for you to retrieve the product inside. Displayed on the bottle, is the name of the product, the brand logo and so information about the product including all the ingredients and directions of use. -- My experience -- As I have very sensitive skin and find some other brands tend to leave me with irritation and redness, this was brilliant. The body wash smells absolutely delightful, I was quite surprised as it states there is no added perfumes. I believe the smell is made up from the cucumber extract and chamomile. I like to use this along with a douche, I tend to use only a small amount as it tends to lather and expand. This is enough to effectively cover my whole body. This really does awaken me and leave me feeling refreshed. The product contains 1 Vital Vitamin B5 which actively restores, softens and smoothes. It also contains 2 Skin Loving Nutrients which is cucumber extract which naturally invigorates and chamomile which gently softens and soothes. After using I do find my skin to be more soft, supple and much smoother. This feeling lingers throughout most of the day which is lovely. Also the gel is very thick and feels more like a moisturiser, rather than a body wash, which is why I believe my skin feels so silky smooth and soft. I can't actually fault this product, as it does live up to its claims and leaves my skin feeling its very best. -- Conclusion -- I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has sensitive skin, the price is a small amount to pay for all the benefits of using this body wash. It smells great, it leaves your skin smooth and soft and it doesn't irritate. What more could you ask for?
-- Reasons for buying -- I have yet to find a foundation that I am completely happy to use throughout the whole year. I end up buying different ones all the time, usually new ones that have just been realesed. Recently I picked up Bourjois Healthy Mix, the colour I picked up was 52 which is Vanilla. -- Some Infortmation about the product -- This product is designed to reboost the complexions radiance, with 3 anti-dull complexion shades. It smooths away dark circles and imperfections for a rested and radiant look. It gives a wonderfully natural look with no lines. Some ingrediants and their purposes listed below: * Apricots - For radiance * Melons - For hydration * Apple - An anti-oxidant * Ginger - Enery for the skin -- Price and Availability -- This is avaible in Boots and Superdrug stores and also avaiable online. I bought this from superdrug for £9.99 which is the going price in most stores. There are 3 different shades avaiable: 51 Light Vanilla 52 Vanilla 53 Light Beige -- Appearance -- The foundation comes in a transparent plastic long tube, with a brown/purple coloured lid, which is secure which prevents the product from any spillages. The foundation also has a pump dispenser, this dispenses the perfect amount of product. On the container is some useful information including name, colour and purpose of the product. Also displayed is the main ingrediants and there purposes to the skin. -- My experience -- This is foundation does a brilliant job of making my skin appear radiant and glowing, without it looking greasy. The pump is great and easily dispenses the right amount of product, I find it extremely easy to blend the product into my skin, it instantly rehydrates my skin and find that I could easily go without using a moisturiser. The formula is very creamy and glides on beautifully with little effort, it blends into your wonderfully so no tango lines girls! I did find that as it's coming into the hotter months now and my skin isn't as pale as it was, it is a little to light for me and have to mix it with a slightly darker one. I don't find this any trouble and doesn't take a lot of effort or time. But I have also found as it's quite a radiant product, if I'm in the sun for too long my skin does start to look a little greasy, but this is easily sorted with a little loose powder. I also like that the container is transparent and I can see exactly how much of the product is left. I wish more foundations were like this, inside the container is a little device which as you use the dispenser, it pushes the remaining product towards the top, there is not a straw you have to aim towards the last dribbles of product like I have had to do plenty of times in the past. This foundation is great for my skin and makes it look silky smooth, it actually smells incredible! The smell of apricots is quite prominent, but very enjoyable. It gives you a very natural look, without looking cakey and covering imperfections wonderfully. Another down fall would have to be the available shades, to me its seems that the only shades aviable is more for fair skin tones instead of darker shades. It would be nice for them to expand the range so other people can also enjoy this marvallous product! I like to apply a small amount to the larger areas and blend towards my hair line, I only like to use a little at a time as its easier to apply more, than remove it if you apply to much. Also go careful around the creases of your eye lids and mouth. It tends to makes lines in the creases if you don't apply enough powder and also makes your lips look very pale and noone likes the invisible lips look! As it blends so easily, I could easily get away with applying it without using a mirror and feel confident it looks good. -- Conclusion -- I would recommend this to anyone with dull skin, this would be great to even and bright up your skin. The price is fairly expensive, but for the high quality it is definitely worthit. I find that the product lasts a long time especially since I am mixing it with other foundations, it lasts twice as long as it usually wouuld! A great buy and I will definitely repurchase it to use in the cooler months.
-- Reasons for buying -- I'm am a self confessed make-up addict and everything that comes with it. I have had the same make-up brushes for the past year and half and not wanting to admit it, they are looking extremely grubby now. Just before Christmas I decided to have a search around to find a new set for myself to put on my 'Christmas list'. I wanted a set instead of separate brushes from different brands, as I thought this would work out cheaper and more convenient. I was pleased to find this set on Amazon which also came in a handy pouch, this way I thought It would be easier for me to use my brushes and not have to rummage around to find them as they would all be together. So please to say, my mother bought this travel set for me. -- Price and Availability -- I have never seen this brand advertised before and haven't seen this travel set presented in any stores. But I came across it on various websites online such as Amazon and Cheapmakeup.org.uk. I believe my mum purchased this off Amazon as she had some Amazon vouchers to use up. The set is on Amazon for about £12, the price does vary slightly between websites. -- Royal and Langnickle -- I have never heard of this brand previously to this travel set so I decided to have a little look online and find some useful information. Royal and Langnickel are a brand which manufacture and market superior grade art and beauty brushes and have over 60 years of brush-making experience. Their products are carefully conceived and designed to meet and exceed the needs of the market. On there website http://www.royalbrush.com is some very useful 'How to' videos and great tips for your brush storage and care. -- Appearance -- You receive 5 brushes with this set: 1 Foundation brush 1 Powder brush 1 Eyeshadow/Lip brush 1 Angled eye fluff/blender brush 1 Brow/sponge smudge brush Three of the brushes are also double ended, so this gives you 5 brushes with 8 heads. The brushes are available in four different colours silver, black, pink and purple. I decided to go for the purple, as it's my favourite colour and my make-up bag is also a very similar colour. The black pouch which contain the brushes is very smart looking, side is the compartments that the brushes fit into snugly and a zip which you can undo and place anything you would like to go inside. I tend to put my eye brow pencil sharpener, q-tips, tweezers and some other little accessories which come in handy. The pouch is secured together by Velcro, this ensures that the brushes are kept together and in place. -- My experience -- I have come to really adore this travel set for many reasons. Firstly the amount of brushes you receive, as there are 5 brushes and amongst there being 8 heads, this is extremely handy because there is a brush for every possible need. My favourite brush would have to be the foundation brush, not only can I use it to apply my foundation but I can also use it to apply my blush/bronzer. The size and shape of the brush enables me to contour perfectly, leaving me with an even finish. I tend to use my fingers to apply my foundation instead of the brush, as I find the heat of my fingers leaves me with a smooth and more natural looking finish. I have always had problems applying with a brush as I feel it looks very layered and too textured. Secondly the pouch being travelled sized is great for when I carry it around in my handbag, go on holiday or stay at a friends. I also like that the size of the handles are smaller, to some people you may think this would be more difficult and fiddly, but in fact I find it so much easier and more convenient. The brushes I find extremely easy to clean, I tend to wash them once a week to limit the risk of spreading bacteria and in my case cause more acne. I decided to purchase some make-up brush cleaner, I found a reasonable priced one costing £3.50 on Amazon. There are a variety of different types of cleansers and methods of cleaning. I simply add a small amount of cleanser in a bowl with a reasonable amount of water and leave the brushes to soak for a couple of minutes. After this I gently massage the brushes in the water and then leave them to dry on a clean, dry towel. This has seemed to work for me so far and is the most convenient way for me. I have found in the past with some brushes that they tend to malt whilst apply my make-up, but these seem to be of brilliant quality and honestly can't say this has been a problem. I use to find that after washing, the brushes wouldn't be as soft and would turn slightly hard, but again this has also not been a problem. The brushes are extremely soft against my skin and working perfectly to apply my make-up. -- Conclusion -- I absolutely love this travel set, it's easy to carry around with you. The price is extremely good for such high quality. You also receive a variety of useful brushes, which cover all your needs and all comes in a cute handy little pouch, with a little bit of storage space for them all important accessories. Excellent purchase, would definitely recommend and I can honestly say there are no faults!
-- Reasons for buying -- On my usual online shopping with fragrance direct for my make-up products I came across this lip gloss which was very inexpensive. As I have recently ran out of my everyday lip gloss I decided I would add this to my order and give it a try. In the past I have bought many lip glosses which have either a watery or too thick consistency. As this was such a bargain I couldn't stop myself. I like nude colours for day make-up as I like to look more natural. So I ordered the colour Raiz n Romance. -- Appearance -- The lip gloss comes in a transparent squeezable plastic tube, with the 'Maybelline' Logo across the top and the name of the product and shade colour underneath. You simply unscrew and re-screw the lid, this makes sure the product is protected against leakages. -- Price and Availability -- I bought this from fragrance direct for £1.50 which I think is an absolute bargain as the RRP is £5.95. For a lip gloss of this sort I wouldn't of paid the full RRP as I think that is fairly expensive and wouldn't encourage me to purchase it. This is available in many shops online, I have never actually came across this product in super markets or drug stores. There are a wide variety of beautiful shades to choose from, anything from nude and natural to bright and colourful! * Raiz n Razle * Clearly In Love * Raiz n Romance * Sugar Plum * Berry Romantic * Berry Clear * Lolly Pink * Fire Cracker * Clearly In Love * Berry Bella * Pink Lace * Sunset Sparkle * Strawberry Whizz * Caramella * Sweet Darling * Peaches n Cream * Bronze Gleam * Malted Mauve * Fatal Star * Rasin The Bar * Berry Sweet And many more. -- My experience -- I adore this lip gloss for many reasons. Firstly being the consistency is not to water, yet not to thick. The angled applicator achieves a even, smooth result when applying. It coats the lips wonderfully and doesn't leave a sticky feeling when you rub your lips together. All the shades are gorgeous and cover a wide range which will compliment many people skin tones, personalities and different event's whether it's every day lip gloss or a saucy night out. I tend to go for the more neutral, nude tones as they compliment my day make-up and skin tone the best. I did also not long ago purchase the ' Berry Romantic' which is a lovely reddish, pink colour which also compliments my make-up on a night out when I don't feel like going dramatic on the eyes. I simply apply a little mascara and then apply the 'Berry Romantic' which instantly gives my cheeks colour and defines my lips tremendously. The lip gloss leaves a love sheen appearance making them look very plump and defined. The lip gloss has lasted me ages, having it about 2 months, using regularly and still having half of the tube left. The amount you receive is 11.3ml. I can apply this in the morning when applying my make-up and can still see it on my lips when it comes to lunch time. They also smell incredibly, which is why berries or fruits in most of the names. I could actually eat them, it smells so good! The only negative I can come up with is it not being available in shops as it would be nice to be able to test out the colours in store instead of just guessing online which ones will suit me. Maybe that is why I don't step out of my comfort zone and try something new. Other than that the lip gloss is absolutely fantastic for the small price you pay and is of very high quality. -- Conclusion -- Great lip gloss which gives a lovely shiny, fuller look to lips and smells incredible! Great price and great quality with a wide variety of amazing colours to choose from!
-- Reasons for buying -- When I got my car, I decided to decorate it will Me To You accessories such as mats, seat belt covers ECT. As a gift my mum bought me these wipes to also put in my car, to use whilst I was on the go. -- Appearance -- The wipes are similar to baby or face wipes. They are white and made of fabric which is quite stretchy, but very strong. The wipes come in a pale pink plastic packet, with a sticky label, which you pull back to retrieve the wipes and re-seal to protect and keep them moist. On the front is a tatty teddy holding a pile of pink flower heads and the logo underneath stating 'Me To You' and '80 Handy Orange Scented Wipes'. On the back of the packet is some information about the wipes, including the ingredients. -- My experience -- I was slightly worried that because I wouldn't be using them very often they would dry out quickly, but the resealable packet means that the wipes stayed moist for longer. The scent is absolutely gorgeous and I love how fresh and clean my hands smell after using. The scent isn't overpowering as the Aloe Vera seems to tame down the smell of oranges. It also means that whilst the wipes are cleansing, you also have the Aloe Vera which I say conditions your hands at the same time. It doesn't say that these wipes condition, they are purely for cleansing but my skin feels very soft and smooth after using. These hand wipes can also be use as facial wipes which I think is brilliant as they thoroughly clean and give of such a lovely scent. I have used these just before going to the gym after college, to remove my make-up so my make-up doesn't run from all the sweating. They are very refreshing and leave your skin feeling very smooth. I have very sensitive skin and I'm pleased to say these lead to no irritation and didn't dry out my skin on my hands or my face. They are also quite wet and find one is enough to thoroughly remove all my make-up/clean my hands. I tend use these more for my hands after filling my car up with fuel, as sometimes I tend to get it on my hands and the smell is awful. But these refresh and clean my hands in no time, they are great if your always on the go like me. The scent also seems to linger when I use them and make my car smell fresh and clean as well as my skin. The packet is quite large, so I tend to leave them in my car as they are inconvenient to carry around in my handbag. -- Price and Availability -- These are not widely available and have not seen them in any supermarkets or drug stores. As my mum bought them, I'm not 100% sure where she got them from. They are available on Amazon for £1.15, which I think for 80 wipes and the fantastic quality is an excellent, well worth price. -- Conclusion -- I will definitely be repurchasing these wipes are they are great to have in my car for when I'm on the go and they go brilliant with my accessories in my car! They are quite tricky to find but for the small price you could easily order in bulk and they would last you a very long time. I'm about half way through my first packet and have had them since around Christmas.
-- Reasons for buying -- I bought this in Home Bargains, I have seen it in Superdrug and Boots so believed it must be a fairly good product to be displayed in these drugs stores. As it was really cheap, I didn't think twice about buying it. I suffer from acne, mostly on my cheeks at the moment and thought this would be worth using to see if it made any difference. -- The claim -- 'The oil free maximum strength serum works continuously through the night when your skin is actively in the process of cell regeneration and renewal to help visibly reduce redness and size of existing spots overnight'. -- Appearance -- The product comes in a 15ml tube, with a pump dispenser. I believe this to be convenient as well as hygienic. Having a pump dispenser also protects the product from any leakages. The product itself is a white liquid, which turns transparent as you apply to your skin. It comes in a cardboard box, which displays all the need information you need the know about the product. Including the name, directions of use and of course ingredients. -- Using the product -- Clearasil recommend using this before going to bed. What I tend to do is cleanse my face, and pump a small amount onto a cotton bud and apply to the affected area/spot. I don't like to touch spots with my fingers, as I don't want to spread the bacteria. If you thoroughly cleanse your hands before, I'm sure using your fingers would be perfectly fine. -- My experience -- I didn't find that this product was a good match for my skin, I did not find that it reduced the appearance or redness of my acne. Although after a period of 4-5 days I did notice a couple of my spots had been slightly dried up, it wasn't much of an improvement for me to want to repurchase this product. I found that the dispenser being a pump was very useful and hygienic. I would of like for there to have been more of the product not just a mesely 15ml, even though you may only be using a tiny amount at a time, for the RRP it seems like a slightly high price, not including the quality of the product itself. The feel of the product is quite slimey, so I was quite surprised that it did not make my skin feel greasy but instead fairly soft. It seemed to soak in quickly and didn't leave any marks on my pillows, which I think is definitely a positive, due the fact of using other products over night and them bleaching the colour of my pillow cases! -- Price and Availability -- I bought this 15ml Serum for 99p from Home Bargains, I do believe it is also sold in B&M for the same price. The RRP is £6.99 which can be found in Boots and Superdrug. I would not have paid the RRP as I think for the quality of the product, it is extremely over-priced. -- Conclusion -- Overall I would not recommend this to anyone who has even mild acne as it won't make any noticeable difference. It may be good for the odd spots you get around the time of the month to help prevent them. This is a product if you paid the RRP for you would definitely be disappointed. I like the concept of the product, but it is not for me.
