A charming and friendly boutique hotel in Kemp Town, Brighton

A lovely friendly boutique hotel, just up from Kemp Town seafront, the Alvia Hotel is easily accessible from the A23 and offers car parking for a nominal fee - if you book it!

The room I stayed in was clean and contemporary, with a comfy bed, fluffy cushions and plenty of space. Various other rooms in this small hotel are apparently incredibly luxurious, with four poster bed, sea views or a patio, but these were all booked up.
At £95 per room per night, including a wonderful English breakfast, The Alvia is very good value for money.

I made use of their wireless internet, as did other guests, which was quick and hassle-free.
They offer a concierge service, if desired, but my stay was too busy to fit in any of their treats - massage, beauty treatments and many affiliations with local bars and restaurants to take advantage of.

Despite a busy scehdule, I found my time at The Alvia very relaxing, and the staff could not have been more helpful. Everything you could wish for is available, just ask!

Delightful 5 star hotel in Hove

I stayed here back in April ('07), and was delighted by all aspects of my visit to Brighton & Hove - helped greatly by the truly luxurious hotel rooms and handy (almost) seafront location of The Claremont!

On Second Avenue in Hove, the hotel is about 10 - 15 mins walk to the middle of town, but a leisurely stroll past "The Lawns" on a sunny day made it seem more like 5 minutes! There are plenty of nice restaurants near the hotel if you can't be bothered with the bustle of the city centre, and buses and taxis are plentiful.

Inside the hotel, the rooms were lovely! We had a 'Superior Double' room, a little more than I would usually pay for a hotel at £145 per room per night, but worth it ... Contemporary, luxurious and spacious, as described on their website, with small touches to make our stay more memorable including complimentary mineral water, luxury bathrobes and "posh" toiletries.

Breakfast was cheerfully served (from 7.30 - 9am during the week, 8 - 10am on the weekend) and very tasty, plus they cater for vegetarians, vegans and other special dietary requirements.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and the whole building was beautifully furnished and well-kept.
They even have a pretty garden, although it's not very big!

The Claremont also offers a function room, for business meetings or dinner parties, or even Weddings.

Check in is from 1pm and Check out is at 11am, and prices are from £75 (single room) per night.
The Claremont has been graded 5 stars.

Good value outdoor music festival in Brighton!

A premium opportunity to see some great artists performing in Brighton in an open air concert! Good value tickets too, with prices starting at just £20!

The Music Park 2007 is a four day event starting with a pop concert - Ronan Keating & Andy Abraham - on Thursday 21st June (£29.50).

Friday 22nd sees the return of brilliant acts from the eighties - including Kim Wilde, Paul Young & Howard Jones - in 'The 8o's Here & Now' (£32.50).

Lemar, Beverley Knight & Jamelia are headlining 'Saturday Soul' on the 23rd (£32.50).

Stanmer Park is beautiful, and easy to get to - even on public transport, and should create a stunning backdrop for the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra in 'Classical Proms' on Sunday 24th June (£20/28.50) ...

The official website includes details about disabled access and concessions.

Site4eyes has made having a selection of prescription glasses an affordable luxury.

I've had my prescription glasses, purchased from Site4eyes after reading nerantzidis review, for nearly 2 months - and they've proved their worth!
I chose some cheap ones called "Great Choice" (£15), to try them out as an extra pair, and have been very pleased with the accuracy of prescription and the quality and fit of the frames.

I have just been looking for a pair of Site4eyes' designer glasses, confident their online photographs are a realistic likeness, and found the inclusion of a photo on the shopping cart very useful in making my final selection. The full description of your order within the checkout confirmation confirms exactly what you are purchasing.

You don't have to register but there is the option to login for returning customers - I haven't used this.

There are many glasses to choose from for both men & women, with new additions including Calvin Klein & Nicole Farhi glasses, and all at very good value prices!
