      Advantages

      Disadvantages

a totally not recommended tv receiver.

I recently got my 32 inch HDTV with built in freeview HD inside, and then found out I had to insert an antenna to receive and watch channels. I was browsing on amazon and came across this hd box, at only £40 odd. Firstly I will tell about how it freezes here and then, which leaves me turning it off, then back on again; which is very frustrating when I am trying to watch Eastenders or so etc. I rang up the company, and then amazon and both told me nothing they could do, so I was totally disappointed as well as angry about that. The menu guide which allows you to see what programs your watching is not at all the best. Its a bit slow when you press the button on the remote, about a 2 second delay; in other words the program guide is horribly laggy. The only thing I suppose good about the product is that I can get over 50 odd channels to watch, and about 4 of them in HD.(of course with the programs cutting off here and then). If you have recently purchased a hd tv with built in freeview/freeview hd like I have, I totally would not recommend you to purchase this receiver, as its a waste of money and does not do the job properly.

Additional info: It came with a HDMI cable which I was pleased about, which meant I could instantly watch programs in full HD 1080p. The sound sometimes cuts out, but this is usually due weak sockets, but can be easily replaced.

Overall definitely not recommended for first buyers. I would suggest to pay slightly more and get more benefits out of the receiver.

A great Wii game to have

I must say its a real thrill of a game. Its really addictive throughout the family, and gets your fitness levels going wild, as it uses interactive motion movements through the controller, so its 5 stars in fitness wise. The game it self has a wide variety of missions and game modes to complete. The main events are racing, with 100m race, 200m, 400m, 400m hurdles and so on. There's also tracks such as table tennis and swimming which is equally exciting, and I find the table tennis game mode the funnest. You can play with up to four plays in the multiplayer competitive mode, whilst playing a majority of modes. There's also a few added on bonus games which can be played, which some include flying, which of course is not realistic in terms with real life Olympics, but having said that they are so much fun. It's really fun when you team up with more than one controller, it makes the evening when playing together so much funner. The hardest mode of all must be 'Fencing' as its difficult to understand the basic techniques of the controls, and 70% of the times the computer wins.

Overall a recommended game. Its exciting and suitable for the whole family, a must get game if you own a Wii!

      A phone worth having

My personal review on the Sony Ericsson W980 Mobile Phone.

The main thing I like about this phone is that it has really, really good sound quality, in comparison with other phones. Yes, it does not have the loudest of volumes, but the sound that is given off from the phone actually sounds realistic, which is why I really love this phone.

The build of the phone itself is a solid, sleek looking mobile, and the colours on the phone are so vibrant. The screen brightness is fairly average, not to dull, not to bright, which gives a perfect viewing of the nature of the phone.

Sadly the phone does not support 3.5mm headphones socket, which is a shame as the provided headphone which came in the phone box did not work, and as I did not have a compatible other headphone that fitted the socket, so I had to go out and by a new one, which wasn't the Sony Ericsson Official headphone, just some tacky basic one. The camera was pretty cool with 3.2 megapixel and with 3.2x digital zoom. Sadly it did not have 'flash' with the camera, so it was pretty disappointing.

The phone came with a included 8GB memory card, which I found quite useful, as it can store a lot of downloaded music and games which can be purchased from the PlayNow store. The phone itself is currently worth store-wide from roughly £350.

The display function has 262,144 colours, 240 x 320 pixels which gives off vibrant colours as I mentioned previously. Its compatible with the following formats: MP3, AAC, WAV and WMA. This means you can download videos etc. off the internet and play them on your phone, as well as receive files from Bluetooth without facing any difficulties.

The talktime is roughly 4 and a half hours, which is average for phones of this type these days. The phone itself can last about 15 days which is just over two weeks, which is pretty awesome in my opinion. As you may know it has a video call function, and you can talk with up to 3.5 hours of talk time. The phone itself is good in the fact on how long it lasts.

Overall its a pretty good phone, and has all the features over phones have, such as bluetooth, alarm, calculator, calender etc. The model itself is pretty good looking. Only small things put it down such as not having flash on the camera, and not supporting 3.5mm headphone sockets. The 8GB puts up the standards however. If you are searching for a new mobile phone, this could be the one for you!

      The perfect biscuit

Tasty biscuits indeed! They are simply adorable. I was browsing through my local Sainsburys recently and found this lovely biscuits, which were fairly cheap, at only £0.90! There's roughly about 30 odd biscuits in the pack which work out about £0.36 per 100g. The packet looks exactly like the picture shown on Dooyoo, blue, with the logo etc. Nothing fancy, but indeed the biscuits sure do go well with tea. Talking about tea; they melt and give off a nice smooth taste if you dip them in a nice hot cuppa. They are not at all crumbly, the perfect snack of the day. The milk chocolate on top of the biscuit it self works a treat. The biscuit itself has a nice malty taste, which give off now crumbs, which means no additional mess! They are suitable for vegetarians, however they do contain wheat, gluten, milk, soy/soybeans. They are a nice rich, thick biscuit which is really a perfect snack. Well worth the price, a must buy for the perfect tea time. There not too chocolaty, so is a perfect biscuit if your watching your weight. If you have tried the original malt flavoured biscuits, then i'm sure you will adore these as well, as nothing can go wrong.

A good camera perfect for taking photos on the go!

Ever since i got this camera, taking photos have been my hobby! Its so addictive, and when ever I can, ill always be taking snap shots of people, from plants, to people, to cars to wildlife! Its got an amazing 14x Zoom which is not bad, but still can go very far. It has an excellent focus point, which means the quality comes out better. It does not take pictures in HD, but it still produces a jolly good photo! The camera it self looks very attractive, with its sleek body build. It comes in multiple colours, and the one i own is purple. It has flash on it. But it seems awkward when i use it, it seems to go off-focus for some reason. Maybe its faulty, who knows? Its a pocket sized camera, easy to carry on the go. It has the megapixel resolution of 14.1 which is fantastically great. It cost me around £300 , and it has bought me pleasure ever since i bought it. I have not regretted buying it once! Its been dropped a couple of times, but it still works. Its got a strong body build as i was explaining previously, which is why its suitable for a family camera. It takes pictures in the screen sized resolution of 4:3 or 16:9.

Overall its a perfect camera for taking photos on the go. It gets lots of points for how it looks, but i dont think the flash goes well with me. If your interested in buying this amazing camera you can snatch it at around £200 from amazon.co.uk. A well designed camera indeed!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          A basic phone

My personal review on the Nokia 2720 (Flip phone)

Main features: It has an enjoyable messaging app, with functional smileys which are fun to use. The flip design of the phone actually goes well with me. I've had other phones in the past that were 'flip' that didn't go well with me, but this phone seemed to have the touch. It felt good when i was making calls, it didn't get in the way of my hand etc. The camera is not at all good, its 1.3 megapixel camera, which i suppose was good in the olden days. And now ive got more advanced phones, looking back to this one makes me laugh. So yea, the camera is appalling. It has no SD slot, which means you cant save that many pictures and stuff onto it. The backing of the phone has a nice glossy finish; however it does seem to attract a lot of fingerprints.

You can buy this phone at the moment for about £48 phone, which is a bit expensive, due to that fact its kind of old school. However you can get it on contracts from about £5 a month. Whilst extended, it measures around 18mm. It has 9MB internal memory, and has no memory card. You can save quite a lot of pictures, messages, and music on to it. However, you can only load up two tracks, which i dont find helpful at all. Whats the point of the whole music player?? It has a 45.7mm (1.8-inch) screen, not to big, not to small. It has some great games on the phone that were already installed. They can get really addictive. I forgot some of the names of them, but i know there's sudoku, and snake. Its a basic phone really, if your looking for a phone just to send texts and make calls, this is the phone for you. Theres no more to it!

An ok laptop - not the best

My personal review for the Sony Vaio M Series Laptop Model VPCM12M1E/P

Main features: It has a great display, with ultra high colours, which gives the best view for videos etc. It has a compact, comfortable keyboard, which is easy to use. The buttons are clear and are easy to use. One of my buttons did however fall of once - but i took it to the PC repair shop and they fixed it instantly. Its a lightweight laptop, which is easy to carry around. It can fit easily in a bag you carry around when your out and about- it comes with a black laptop case and it looks really smart. The trackpad ( the bit on the laptop where you put your finger to move the mouse), its a bit flimsy and dodgy in my opinion. The trackpad it self is annoying whilst browsing, it keeps on jolting about the place sometimes. Also it has no grip on it, so your finger sometimes just slides all over it, which makes the mouse do all sorts of things! The battery life is not really great. It lasts about 3.5-4.5 hours, which isn't that great. And when its on charge constantly it the laptop heats up to much, and if its on your lap i heard the heat from it can cause cancer. I like the thin-ness of the laptop, its more of a notebook in a way. It has Intel Atom N470 CPU and 1GB of RAM, its features won't set your pulse racing like mad, but it's reasonably priced, at around £300, which is a good price for laptop these days. The laptop is 10.1-inch;which is small in comparison with the normal sized laptops of 15.6-inch. Also it has LED-backlit display with a maximum resolution of 1,024x600 pixels. It has backlighting which makes the screen look for crisper and brighter, and the quality is intense! However when you watch videos for instance on youtube, the HD 720p videos or higher dont seem to go well with the system. It lags alot, and the videos don't seem to buffer at all! There's a VGA out, an Ethernet port, an SD card slot, and three USB ports on the right-hand side. A 3.5mm headphone jack and microphone socket are located on the front, and a 0.3-megapixel webcam is mounted above the screen. This netbook also supports 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity. Apart from all that its just an average laptop, not the best, just perfect for browsing, none more. Overall if your looking for a laptop just to do browsing and things like that, this is the laptop for you. If your looking to watching videos and playing games on your laptop, this definitely is not the lap top for you! Could of been much better...

            Really nice gem topped biscuits

My personal review on Jacobs iced gems!

I am eating them as i type. They are a scrumptious biscuit snack to have whilst you feel peckish. From Sainsburys, a six pack of these only costed me £1 which i thought was a real bargain.I haven't had these in ages, and now i wish i would of bought them more often! The biscuit itself is a round hard, crunchy biscuit topped on the top with a blob of hard flavored fruit gems. They are constantly addictive, and the pack feels you up nicely; even though you get through them really fast! The packet it self has a friends looking bear old and ice gem out towards you, which i cant help but thinking it try to say, 'eat me, eat me!'. The background of the packet is a blue color. The packet comes in a 25g full of lovely gem topped biscuits. Its suitable for vegetarians , no artificial colors of flavorings, and no hydrogenated vegetable oil; in other words, its all good and healthy to eat. The biscuits them selves are made from the company called 'Jacobs' are was established in 1885. They are a perfect little treat for you or your children, and are ideal for packed lunch boxed. A tasty snacked biscuits indeed!

              A great phone to have

My personal review for the Nokia E5

Firstly I am going to say how wonderful the phone looks when have it out. Lots of people seem to gaze at it which is why i think its a great phone for the looks. Its got an excellent QWERTY keyboard, similar to my blackberry's one, but not as good. Its got a good solid built, with a good life rate. I have had this phone for over 2 years now and nothing has gone wrong since. It has however jammed here and there, but its not an often thing. The battery seems to last a long time, in comparison with other phones i have owned over the years. It can last me about 5-7 days, depending on how much i use it. The connectivity options are simply superb, with high speed Wi-fi enabled, and a good 3G network rate. Its really fast and smooth whilst browsing on the web on the phone, and its easy to use to. The screen could of been built in a better way; it could of been bigger and have tougher material, as i got a couple of scratches on it. It has a 5 megapixel camera with focus zoom, also it has a LED flash, which is really great for taking photos. Not many phones can do as much as this camera can do. The phone casing is made out of plastic, and it feels really cheap. Most good phones these days come with a lovely matt finish, but this phone fails to do so. However, there is a small band of metal presented on the front of the phone; in between the screen and the QWERTY keyboard. The keys on the phone seem to be big, but might need some time to get the hang of. It has the advantage of people if you have smaller hands, but as I said previously, you should get the hang of using it. It has many features on the phone which are enjoying to use. It has a wide range of apps already installed, or ones you can download from the Nokia OVI Store. Facebook is pre-installed on the phone, and its easy to access facebook features. 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are all present and correct, and with 256MB of RAM and a capable 600MHz processor, the underlying specs are decent, too. You also get 250MB of internal storage to mess about with, which can be easily expanded with microSD cards.

You can grab the Nokia E5 for £15 a month on a 24 month contract, or £200 if you buy it your self. That's not a bad price at all, but it definitely could be chopped a little.

Its definitely a worth buying phone. Its in competition with the blackberry curve, and is in my opinion just as good. Superior build quality, excellent connectivity and a great Qwerty keypad help tip the scales slightly in Nokia's favour. Definitely a phone worth buying!

              A jolly good ice cream

I have to admit this is one of my favourite ice creams all time. I picked up a box of 6 from my local Sainsbury's store for about £1.10 on a special offer, which comes to around 18p each, which is not at all bad; as they are nearly a £1 just for one cone from the corner shops! This Classic Wall's Cornetto in comparison with other Cornettos is rather smaller in size, but has more quality itself. Its sprinkled with lovely chocolate bits on the top with some nuts which make it even more mouth-watering. The ice cream itself has no chocolate in it, just plain vanilla, which gives off the best taste you could possibly find for any ice cream. Its states on the box of the multi-pack that is has no artificial colours sweeteners, which means its all healthy for young or old! The wrapper of the cone is a light blue colour blended in with swirls of white. It looks very tasty even with the wrapper off. The thing i like best is the fact that once you have eaten one you always feel like having another; well that's greedy isn't it! :P It leaves me a with a refreshing, smooth feeling in my mouth afterwards, as the ice-cream it self is so delicately smooth.

If you haven't tried out this ice-cream yet;or in a long time, it would definitely be the time to pop over to Sainsbury's and get the special multi-pack whilst stock lasts. Nothing would be good without them! :-)

              Best phone on the market

I got this recently after all my friends persuaded me into; and my self it seemed like a really cool phone. And boy it was. The main thing about the phone would be the blackberry messenger, short for BBM. Its free and easy to use. I have added all my friends and the chat system is great. I like the design of the phone it self, its good looking, sleek and a matt finished back which feels really nice. I got the phone a while back on contract, at £18 a month for 24 months; with unlimited, texts, internet, bbm, bb email, and 500 minutes. It also allowed me to have unlimited minutes to others who have a virgin sim. So that indeed is a great offer for me. Ever since i have had the phone nothing has gone wrong. I have yet never got any technical difficulties, and its fairly straight to the point to use. Its more advanced then other phones , and has some cool features which other phones dont have. It also has some cool games on it. My favourite is brick breaker. Also what i like about it is that it has a QWERTY keyboard, which is perfect for typing fast and easily on bbm and whilst sending texts. It has many good apps which can be downloaded, some for free, some of which you have to pay. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack. The headphones it self look good and do the job properly. It nearly cuts off all sounds apart from the music your listening to. It has a rubber trim which is good for grip. The thing what disappointed me was the fact it dont have a flash camera. On top of that its only a two megapixel camera, in my opinion, for such a great phone it should at least of been 5mp minimum. It has no GPS, or 3G, so relies on Wi-fi or internet connection with the contract. There are many different colours of the blackberry ranging from black to white to purple. I have got the black version, and it seems the best colour out of all of them! It has a good music player function, as i enjoy listening to the latest tunes here and there.

Whats more, i feel proud now that i have got my blackberry curve 8520! Its fun and enjoyable at the same time of being a mobile phone. The blackberry curve 8520 is a solid, reasonable priced phone , and i just wish more of my friends could have it to share the wonderful experience i have with it. Good social-networking and messaging apps, combined with a Qwerty keyboard, make the 8520 a worthy option for social butterflies, although they may miss having 3G connectivity on-board.

              A must get phone!

              A Good DVD Recorder

My personal review on Dazzle DVD Recorder DVC 100

I got this a while back for recording some of my gameplay off my PS3. And it did the job well; not in HD, but still great quality. I bought it off amazon.co.uk for £19.99 which seemed worth the price basing on all the features this beauty can do!

With Dazzle DVD Recorder, anyone can transfer video to a DVD using a PC--no experience required. Simply connect a VCR, DVD player, camcorder or other video device to the Dazzle USB hardware. Then use Pinnacle Instant DVD Recorder software to create a DVD recording, complete with menus and chapters, at the click of a button. You can burn your video directly to a DVD without first copying files to the PC hard drive, saving both valuable time and space. The DVD can be played on any home DVD player. DVD burning has never been so easy thanks to this device.

However, there are some main features you need which don't come included with the product, which you need for everything to work. The three headed splitters did not come included with the product, and neither did the component cable, so this means extra spending for it all to work. But its no big deal really.

Itself its not the colour shown on dooyoo, its more of a Grey, Bluey colour. I suppose thats an older version shown. Its not that heavy, and it is not very bulky, perfect to fit under your tv where you keep the accessories.

If you were looking to burn things onto this device and upload to youtube, there are somethings you may need to do first to gather the best quality. Your going to have to open the file up in windows live movie maker or Sony Vegas 10 and render it to a rate of 30Mbs with 720p HD quality. Your also going to have to maintain the aspect ratio in order to get a 16:9 video on youtube. If your experienced with all this technical stuff, this should be no problem what so ever for you; its pretty straight forward.

              Additional information: Requires Windows Vista/XP/7 . Media - CD-Rom

So yeah, if your into recording your gameplay and posting it on youtube, or burning videos on to it to transfer to your computer, this device is one of the best reliable on the market! Just note you may need to buy the extra cables along with the order!

A fantastic racing game, perfect for young or old.

My personal review on Sonic and Sega All stars racing PS3.

Main features: It has smooth, easy controls, which is easy for my kids to use. Awesome tracks to race on, brilliant exciting cars to choose from, and the effects are simply to good to be true. I like the sense of speed they have put together in the game, its truly perfect and goes well with the graphics. There's a variety of characters to choose from, from the main characters known from SEGA, to some random ones they added in to make the game more fun. If you have PSN the game is even more perfect, as you can race against your friends online, which really is a blast! Or you can simply play two player, which two controllers. However, it would be better if you could do free roam when you play online, or if you could play mini-games online ; the game would be double the fun as it is already!

There's 20 characters in the game, and 24 tracks to race on. They have added something unique in this game known as the all-star move. Its basically a tip you can get if you are falling behind, and each character has a different all-star move. Its up to you to pick out the best one! You can also earn hard earned trophies for doing many different achievements, from playing with a friend online to coming first in all the grand Prix! The favourite part of all is the boost system. When turning the corner, you can hold down the drift button which stores up boost power, for when you let go it gives you a zoom of a boost, and it makes the game a hell lot better. It gets frustrating in some tracks where the track is laid out like a maze. It takes some experience to get the hang of, but for beginners its very annoying when you keep on going of course! Still, epic tracks and game-play itself! You pick up items along the way on your race, which gives you a wide variety of tricks you can use, from shells, to boosts, to all-star moves. Its just an exhilarating experience!

The two main single player modes are Grand Prix and the Missions. Grand Prix comprises six different cups with four tracks each, and you test your mettle against seven computer-controlled opponents. There's difficulty ranging from beginner , medium and hard. All are as exciting as the other. I'd recommend starting off with medium difficulty; if its to easy, move on to hard mode; if its to hard, move on to easy mode. Mission mode is objective based and has you striving to complete bite-sized tasks. You can do stuff from collecting coins in a time limit to racing the computer. The best result you can get is an A Rating, and if you get all your missions completed on an A-rating, you get addition trophies; some of which are hidden. It takes time to get past all 60 missions, but its worth the wait, as you can show off to your friends of how much you have progressed.

When you play online, it takes a while sometimes for some people to actually appear in your lobby. You can play with people online from 2-8 players. If you just want to race with a buddy, you can host a lobby, and send him an invite, and you can have an option to disallow players to join, which is excellent if you want to boost to earn trophies together. Its the ultimate gaming experience online, and you can get to know other people and become friends. If you have a mic you can connect and talk to other players in your lobby which is really useful.

              *Conclusion*

One of the best racing games out there, on any console - after Mario Kart of course! Its a well designed game, which makes it perfect for young or old. If your looking for the cheapest price its £14.00 from amazon.co.uk, or even cheaper if you purchase from the PlayStation Store. A must get game, which will be loved and treasured for ever! Top marks.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

                Best squash you'll ever taste,

My review on Robinsons Select Orange, Mandarin and Peach squash. (Dilute Juice)

Whilst browsing through the squashes in my local supermarket i came across Robinsons Select. Its £1.69 per 850ml bottle, or two bottles for £2.20 from Tesco's. Its a really great bargain, as the taste is unique and incomparable to any other squashes on the market. Whats more, unlike other squashes, you only need a little drop of the juice with added water to get maximum taste; other squashes tend to need one part squash to 4 part water. And it lasts really long, which i was hoping for when i purchased it. You can taste the fruitiness of all the three fruits in the juice, which gives a blend of delicious colours and flavours. I tend to drink this squash with cold water from the fridge, it becomes very refreshing, especially after a long hard day at work. Its only 30% fruit juice, which i find odd as the fruitiness is so vivid. It has no artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners, which is perfect for the little ones. It gives 17 servings, but really you can get at least 20. This is much more effective and cheaper rather then buying the cold fruit juices, and its equally just as nice. At the moment there is a competition on the bottle to win a 'street tennis kit', which seems exciting. The label on the bottle is dark green, which i think is trying to represent a leaf, and there's and orange on the label to! The colour of the squash it self is orangey-yellow.

                *Conclusion*

Its the perfect squash on the market, delicious for when you feel your in the mood to be refreshed. It has a nice sweet fruity taste which im sure the whole family will enjoy. I will definitely be buying this again. Once youve tried it im sure you will be thinking the same like me. :-) So pop into your local tesco today and grab two bottles on special offer while it lasts! Mmmm.
