Matalan is one of my favourite shops. It's a retail store providing clothes, toys, home essentials and lugguage.
The first time i did shopping at matalan they asked me to become a member. i realised i cannot pay for shopping if i dont have the card. I dont understand the concept of card. they dont give you any benefits like points or vouchers... they dont use the card details... i've got 3 different matalan card now... i had to... coz at times i forget the matalan card and then i have to sign up again to buy stuff. i found that irritable. why on earth they are having this membership thing. when there are no exclusive discounts to members or nothing!
well, coming back to shopping experience. well yes, matalan does some good stuff.. esp recently they've got some designer type wear which is good range. prices are reasonble and the quality is good. never had any problems with returns or refunds too. i like their home essential department and the kids department. i always buy eygptian cotton bed sheet and duvet cover from matalan. i've not seen eygptian cotton bed sheet or duvet cover at a price less then matalan's. the only drawback is they dont do much varieties in it. since last 2 years they have the same design but it's worth every penny.
they do good stuff in kids department too. esp the cot bumper or cot accessorries. very good price and very good quality.
god!! my husband loves this show!!!
cannt understand why.... i cannt see any entertainment in this show... nothing scary or just about nothing in it. to me it's just a waste of time. you wait and watch and all you can see is them hearing some noises or some blurry image.... someone falling ill... i just cannt see ny ghost in there...
but yes, i do feel at time the presenter - Yvonne looks a bit scary. i think she intentionally does that kind of make up and appears on screen just to make it all look scary. there is not a single show where they have provided an evidence that they've met a ghost.. all you can hear is some noise. who knows if the noises are made by some member of team itself who is not covered by camera?? i think it's a silly show and anyone can make such a show.. just a waste of time
Up until now i thought Asos is all about big brand - high prices so never thought of even visiting the website.
But recently when i was looking out for some good pair of jeans, i happened to visit Asos website and realised it has Asos outlet too. Doing further search i found that they have some really good stuff for the same price as normal stores! i bought 2 skinny jeans from Asos. The best part about the website is that it has got videos for nearly all clothes. so that gives you a better idea of how something like a jeans or t shirt might look. i loved that idea. it also allows you to save your searches for 30 days!! so you dont have to search the same product again!
In terms of delivery, it was quick. i opted for standard free delivery and it arrived within 3 days!! the only disappointing fact was that i received an email from Asos saying that there is free delivery on all order till sunday so i ordered it on sunday but next week i saw the same free delivery offer again! it just made me feel that i might loose out the free delivery offer and i had to place the order without searching any more.
well, both the jeans i've ordered are great. quality is good but am surprised with fitting. both are skinny jeans, one is black and one is blue however the blue one has much better fitting then black one although both are same size!! but still am happy with the purchase and delivery.
oh! forgot to mention the website offers free returns too. the best part of online shopping that you dont have worry about paying delivery charge when returning an item!
I was recommended this powder by one of my friends when my baby starting teething. My l'ttle boy had hard time with teething. I am not sure how much does this powder helps him as he didn't seem much relieved but what I found it difficult was to feed this powder to him whilst he is crying. I mean, when baby has teething pain they cry terribly and with my one this often happened mid of night. And the way these powders are packed I found it difficult to hold my baby and feed the powder! I wondered if I can mix it in water or milk but it says to be given to baby dry on mouth, so had no option. So 6 out of 10 packs, I have used, I believe in all of them half the powder drops on bed rather than in his mouth. And the quantity is so small!
My only complain is that they should have a better packaging.
This year in june we went to Spain using easy jet. This was the first time I had been on easy jet and is going to be the last time.
This was our first holiday with our 5 month old baby. We paid extra for priority boarding to avoid queues especially when we were going to take pushchair along with us. But when we reached through the security to boarding gates, it was terrible. One, the flight was delayed by half an hour. Second, once the boarding opened there was nothing like priority boarding at all!!! Everyone was going altogether.
On top of that, once we passed the boarding gate we had to go via steps to reach to the plane! Now, did easy jet never know that passengers would be using steps?? They allow the pushchair to be taken till the plane but did it never occur to them that if people are going to bring pushchair, how will they manage to get down the steps?? We had such a hard time, on one side we had our baby who was tired of waiting half an hour and wanted to sleep, on other hand my husband had to manage the handbag as well as carry the pushchair down the stairs. And it wasn't just few steps they were quiet a bit and we were jam packed with all passengers wanting to board the plane as quickly as possible. The worst thing is no one told us that we were going via steps, we never anticipated such thing as we never had any such experience especially while boarding a plane!
Once on the plane, it took nearly 15-20 mins before the doors were shut and we can have some oxygen especially at that time around year when it;s hot!
Once my baby started cruising, I was on a lookout for a good walker for him.
I found chicco for £16 at argos, which is the lowest price I've seen for walkers. Apart from price, this walker is good value for price product.
It is very easy to assemble and only requires 2 AA batteries. I haven't seen any other walkers with 'Break' feature. This helped when he didn't know how to walk and loved to try to stand holding on to something. Since the day I've showed him this walker, he still loves it. The activity centre is very entertaining. He still hasn't learnt to use the shape sorter though but loves to put the ball through hole and watch it dropping down. I believe the music it has, helped my baby to learn to walk. Because the music stops as your baby stops and this I believe encourages baby to walk to hear more. Good thing about music is it has two settings so you can lower down the music too.
I'll still caution others to use it on wooden floors. We have a combination of carpet and wooden flooring so I only use the walker on carpets.
The walker didn't last long though. I mean it's quiet good build but now my baby can easily lift it up and bang down. But he loves doing that too!
I bought this before I had my baby but my baby hardly used it. One of my colleagues did warned me that I should buy it after I have baby so in case he doesn't like we can return it back within 30 days. But well, becoming mum for the first time gives us so much of excitement and I just wanted to make sure my baby has a good place to sleep because I didn't knew whether or not I'll get the time to check out different moses baskets and choose the right one after I have a baby!
The basket looks really good. The hood doesn't stay up well though. And the most important thing I didn't like about this basket was it hasn't got a lining in it. Whilst most baskets I saw do provide a padded liner, this one for some reason didn't have it. Was a bit disappointed and had to order a liner separately. (Which is very difficult to find; and costs £10!!) .
I must say this is one product I am so happy that I bought it for my baby. Searching through varieties of play mats, I was going mad to find the ideal one. I wanted a playmate which has music, has different toys each of which should have different activity to itself. This is one single playmat I found with variety of toys for great value.
Tiny love Melody Maker has -
Crinkly Lamb with Bell
Tractor with honking horn
Peek-a-boo caterpillar under a rock
Tiny love melody maker has all what an ideal play mat should have. I bought it when my baby was 3 months and he is now 9 months old and still loves to play with it. He enjoyed seeing the colorful toys above him. As he grew, he loved being on his tummy with the colorful mat, loved pressing the horn, especially the crinkling leaf. The attached toys were excellent themselves and I used them to clip onto his carseat and crib. He still loves the porcupine. I love to hold it and he'll then try to pull it as far as he can and he loves to watch it let go of his hand and the noise it makes.
Flower teethers were his favorite when he was teething.
I was a bit concerned when he started to sit down. He'll hold the arches and will like to lift it but there was no harm in it. It's baby proof.
The sun mirror is good too, I hang it on his crib and he loves watching it.
My only criticism is of the "musical triangle" toy that dangles. It does have a switch on/off which is great. However, the volume of the music is LOUD!
Again, this is well worth it and a well designed toy for any infant.
This is a very easy to use and good value for money product. Being a new mum, I wasn't sure how I'll use it and will it's usage have any future effects on my breasts, but I am now really pleased I got Tommee tippee.
I got it for only £12 from Boots. It includes sterilizing box, bottle, valves, pump, and handle, solid lid for bottle and breast pads. It's so easy to use and feels very gentle. It does take a while for first time users but if you do during day or just after you've fed baby, it doesn't take long to express 2-3 ounces.
Pump is very easy to assemble and clean. Expressing milk helps a lot if you want transit from breast feeding to bottle. It is a bit of struggle not only for mum but for baby too. I did had a bit of trouble with the bottle as the teat provided had slow flow and I realized my baby wanted to drink the milk but didn't like it from the bottle so I decided to get medium flow and that helped.
Overall, never had any issues using this pump and I'll recommend it.
Selecting a pushchair is one of the most difficult decisions especially for new parents. I searched through loads of pushchairs available. The thing that helps in making the decision is the criteria you are looking for and it's importance. Our main criteria were - Ease of opening and closing and the second important criteria was looks.
On basis of above two criteria, I'll give Phil & teds 5 stars. It has two buttons on front to be pushed down and it's closed. Opening is a bit tricky but doing it 3-4 times its quiet easy.
It weighs around 11 kgs but it's not that heavy. I've had caesarean and I find it quiet light to load in the car and get it out of it. We bought Quinny buzz prior to buying Phil & teds but ended up returning it mainly because it's too heavy and it's complicated to open.
Shopping basket is quiet big and I like it.
There are multiple positions to the seat however I do find it hard to use one of the belts. It takes a while till you understand how to use it.
The front wheel does get stuck at times. But it's not a major issue; all you have to do is to take it out and fit it again, which I can still do whilst my baby is inside the pushchair.
There is nothing like a handle bar in front, in case you want to hang some toys to distract baby. I found it really hard in the beginning when baby does not like to sit for long in the pushchair.
