Zelda, The Ocarina of time has to be one of the best games I have EVER played, and I have played A LOT iof games (maybe you could tell by my nickname) Having been an avid player, and lover of the orginal Zelda games, I was wary of the new viewpoints, and method of play, but I gave it a go... and against all odds it actually equals, if not beats the orginal in Gameplay! The game is UNBELIEVABLY addicative! The game is based around a yound boy, Youre character, and you are on a mission to save the word of Hyrule. What makes this game different to the original, apart from the 3D graphics is: - a vast array of new weapons - the ability to run and walk at different speeds - within the game, day becomes night and vice versa. Both states are required for completing the game. - Your character ages. Leter on in the game you become an adult. Although the game can be a little slow to get going, for example you have to walk all over the huge terrains, which takes a while, it is all made up for when you solve the numerous puzzles and tasks. I am only about half way through the game at present, but I can tell you now... I WILL be buying the sequel!!! This game would interest those who enjoy puzzles, advetures, and RPG games. It is a game which you can play and enjoy for hours on end. It *could* be compared to the Final Fantasy games, however, the game itself is Unique in it's gameplay! The game is great value for money (well... so I think) and can be purchased online, or in most games retailers. Enjoy the game.
My 7 year old sister recently had to go into hospital for an operation, which would mean she would have to spend 6 weeks confined to a wheelchair. As a bit of a treat, I thought I would take her to the cinema. She decided upon going to see the Grinch, sarring Jim Carrey. The Basics of the Storyline are that a starnge looking creature, by the name of "The Grinch" attempts to spoil Christmas for his local town. This film is done in such a way to bring the spirit of christmas to life. I have to admit, I didn't think that I would enjoy the movie, however, it did make me laugh in places, and has varied humour, mainly for the children, but for adults also. This film is definitly one that you could take the children to see, as you would also enjoy the film youself.
I am a self confessed cyber-geek! I spend all my free time on my PC and on the net, and read alot of computer magazines. Over the past while there has been alot of hype over the new Pentium 4 and all that it can do... but I find, and I know that alot of people find, that the Pentium has a habit of overheating, and generally not working properly. The first batch of Pentium 4s had to be recalled!! Personally I opted for the MUCH MUCH cheaper option of the Celeron. The Intel Celeron processors are much more stable than the Pentiums, and although may not perform to as high a standard, certainly provide enough processing power for anything a home user would want. In addition the Celeron processor can be saftley overcloccked to speeds way beyond what it should be at!! (Check manuals and guides on safe speeds first though!!) All in all I think the processor is brilliant, and for a budget processor, i certainly performs!
The first thing that cam to mind when I first played Halflife were the stunning graphics. The smooth, crisp graphics ran wonderfully in software rendering mode, as I didn't have chance to trial the game on my 3DFX card. However, to me, the graphics were an added bonus, as the main, most impressive aspect of the game in my mind was the idea of a plot. The likes of Quake, and Unreal are great games, don't get me wrong, but they are based on a character with a gun in a scenario full of aliens, or other characters to blow to pieces. This is fun for a while, but becomes tedious, and boring when all levels have been explored. With Halflife there is actually an object to the game other than stay alive. Also in Halflife you can interact with most of the scenery, as in pick it up, throw it, blow it up, and you can talk to most of the human characters in the game. I haven't progressed that far yet, so I'll keep the opinion updated when more comes to light. In conclusion for now however, the game looks, plays and feels great... but trust me, don't play it alone in the dark!!!
Ryanair has to be the worst Airline I have ever travel with. I travelled to Guernsey via Gatwick with Ryanair, and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. When we got to the Airport at Dublin, the staff were generally unfireindly, and unhelpful, and then we weretold there would be a two hour delay! This wasn't a huge problem, except I was travelling with my two siblings, both of which hadn't reached 10 by this stage. They became restless, and caused many problems, which the staff just looked on at. By the time we got onto the flight, it was around 10PM - we had already missed our connecting flight, and had to wait for another one. The food on board wasn't bad actually - and this was one "redeeming" factor of the flight. Eventually - when we got to Guernsey, it was very late, the kids were tired, and so was I. It wasn't a great start to the holiday. 2 weeks later, and the return flight. We got to Gatwick airport, only to be told that Ryanair had another 2 hour delay!!!! So we waited, and waited and waited... eventually the Plane arrived, and we got home!! However, I will not be using this service again!!
Planetarion is without a shadow of a doubt the best online Role Playing Games I have found to date. The game is based in the future, when space travel is possible, and hundreds and thousands of planets exist. You take the role as the leader of your own planet which you get to name. From here you must build ships and construction yards and research new technologies in order to build a fleet to defend your planet. The fleet is needed so that other planets will not come and steal your source of income - which are asteriods. the more asteriods you have, the more resources you can mine, however, if you have alot of asteriods you make yourself a target from larger planets. The game is in realtime - thereofore it can be slow and frustrating, but then again, it can be helpful - especially when youre getting attacked. Planetarion is very addictive, and an excellent game to wind away the time while online.
I am not going to just write a simple opinion on 10 people who released good songs. The artisits I have chosen have written and released lots of great songs. I have written them as I have thought of them, and not in order of preference. Here goes: 01. Tracy Chapman Tracy Chapman has written many fantastic songs, one of which was covered by Boyzone. Her lyrics are fantastic, mostly abuot Black America, Racism, and life growing up. Definitly a deserved place in my top 10. 02. Jon Bon Jovi Jon, and his band have kept me entertained for years with releases such as "Livin' on a prayer", "You give love a bad name", and "Always". I bought his new album "Crush" and I was NOT disappointed. The songs were quality, with not one dislikable song on the album. 03. Kurt Cobain (RIP) I have all of Nirvana's albums and I feel that all of the songs are fantastic. I especially like "About A Girl", "Dumb", "Polly", and the globally popular "Smells like teen spirit". 04. Bob Dylan I could describe Bob Dylan in one word - Genius. Not renowned for his singin vioce, Bob has written soe of the greates songs known. The popular "Knockin on Heaven's door" is probably one of the most covered songs in history, while the famous "Tambourine Man" was covered by none other than Willaim Shatner from Star Trek. (Dunno how to take that one) 05. Madonna Madonna is the artist who could not be left out from the list. She has written more songs than I can keep track of, and has been going for 20 years. She is easily the largest selling artisit in the world today (of those who are still in the business) and cannot be overlooked. She is a one woman business. She has her own studio, production company, and record label. 20 Years and still going strong. Heres to another 20. My favourite Madonna track has to be &qu ot;Material Girl" as this is a song which I listened to constantly at a young age. 06. The Beatles It would be impossible to have a top 10 list and not include The Beatles. A British group who took the world by storm, and anohter album featuring their greatest hits has just been released. The Beatles were in a league of their own, and once they even occupied the top 3 places in the UK chart!!! 07. ABBA The only group ever to actually be known as a supergroup. The have released so many great songs, including "Waterloo" and "Thank you for the Music". ABBA are still the largest contributer to the Gross National Product (IE Government Money) of Sweden!!! 08. Aerosmith Aerosmith were always a Band I liked. Their mainstream rock content, and funky lyrics gave me my first feel for rock and the like, back in the early 90s. My favourite song to date is Cryin' as featured on the album "Big Ones". 09. U2 Easily the largest thing to come out of Ireland since Guiness. This band have been going for so long, and yet are still creating music which is going to number 1 in the charts. Easily a deserved position. 10. Sting Sting has always created music that I have loved and admired. My favourite to tbeing "Every Breath You Take" from his days with the police. Sting has always varied his music in a style which allowed more people to be drawn to him.
"Last night I heard the screaming" are the starting lyrics to "Behind the Wall" written and performed Tracy Chapman. The song is featured on one of the best albums I have ever listened to... "Tracy Chapman - Tracy Chapman" Many of you may not of heard of Tracy Chapman, but may have heard one or more of her songs, the most popular being "Baby can I hold you" covered by Boyzone a few years back. The album fetaures an eclectic mix of well written, and beautifully performed songs, to generally acoustic music. Personally, I would never have seen myself as a Tracy Chapman fan, however, I absolulty love her work, and recently purchased two of her albums (so I am quite literally putting my money where my mouth is) I suggest you visit the official website (www.tracychapman.com) and listen to some of the samples of tracks, especially "Fast Car" which in opinion is one of the best songs EVER written, up there with Bob Dylan's regularly performed "Knockin' on heavens door" and Sting's "Every Breath You Take" Enjoy the music, as I definitly have.
Well I have to say that IC24 are one of the most reliable ISPs I have used (and I have used a fair number of them) Not only is it fast in comparison with larger, better known ISPs such as Freeserve, it also offers free time online EVERY DAY - COMPLETLY FREE!!!! I use IC24 all the time now... with little use of my other ISPs. I get a first time connection to their 0800 number about 80% of the time, and it never takes me more than about 5 dial attempts before I do connect. I feel this ISP has got it sussed - all we need now is a 24/7 connection - and if it would be as reliable as their current FREE service, I wouldn't mind paying a small subscription for it. Well done IC24!!
Just how old does Caroline think she is?? 15?? She regularly wears teenie bop clothes, platform shoes, and make up sooooo thick, that it would take a blowtorch just to remove it. She is one of these people who just make stupid, obvious comments, in a fatal bid to be amusing to the people around her. I won't say anything about the way she laughs, other than I wouldn't want to be associated with her when she starts laughing. If I were in the Big Brother household, I would take one of those Chickins, and ram one right up her arse. Hello CAROLINE!!!! Nobody in the house likes you!!!! You will be number 2 to go!! BYE BYE!
The Crypt is probably the worst club I have ever been to. It is part of the Tullymore House complex in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, and is now owned by Kiss 106. Hopefully, now that the club is under new management, the place will liven up, as they are currently trying to promote the club. However, the last time I went which was about 3 weeks ago, I seen about 20 people. No wonder it is called the crypt - the place is dead! At the minute, the music is great, but the place has no atmosphere - it may aswel be a pub, because no-one uses the dancefloor, and only one of the two bars, in the small club is open a night. I hope the place changes, and fast, because in Ballymena are currently lacking a club, now that the Pub/Club McSwiggans has been closed down. What the Crypt really needs is a complete overhaul. It should be closed down for a month or two, an extension built, and the place should be completely rennovated! The place at the minute is pants.
Without a shadow of a doubt, Nero's is one of the best clubs in Northern Ireland. IT stands as part of the Nelly's Complex, and has a capacity of about 2000 or so. It is open every Saturday Night, from 9:30 - 2:00PM, as they have recently extended opening hours! YAY!! Every month Nero's offer a pilethera of promotions and only last week gave out a number of free tickets, to a number of lucky individuals! The crowd is bumping every week, and with Nero's 2 dancefloors, and 4 bars, it really is a place that can accomodate you! Every week there is a friendly crowd, and about once a month there is a foam party!! The resident DJs are ones who can really mix up a great selection. OF course you have your Alice Deejay tracks, and many other popular Dance tracks, but also, tracks which you may not normally hear played, or less mainstream dance tracks are played! Entry is about £5 and is well worth it!! Get your ass to Nero's - You won't be dissapointed!! UPDATE!!!! ^^^^^^^^^^ NERO'S now have a membership deal. I have just obtained my free membership, and get entry to the club for £3, drinks are reduced, and more benifits!! The membership was free, so try it out!! UPDATE 12/11/00 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Well its my 18th birthday today, and last night I went to Nero's to celebrate. I had such a pumping night. They had Glen Paivis - from Cool FM and a special BBM promotion. (Look for the pics in next months's BBM). Nero's also offer discounts for buses, so If you are running a bus, phone and tell Nero's and they should give you a discount. We all got £3 off entry last night!! Another excellent night in Nero's !!
Over the past two years the WWF has grown into the most popular wrestling federation in the world, after declining and losing out to WCW. The increased popularity is due to the clever marketing schemes that the Federation has come up with. For a start, after their decline, in order to bring their viewing figures back up, the WWF got rid of many of their 'OLD MEAT' by releasing such wrestlers as Hulk Hogan, and brought in newer wrestlers such as The Road Dogg (whose merchandise couldn't stay on the shelves, after he joined). However, the best was still to come... They took a realative nobody, by the name of HUNTER HURST HELMSLEY and built him up, and promoted him into the figure we all know now as The Game - Triple H At last, a young superstar - which they lacked before hand. All they needed now were some worthy opponents! The turn of Vince McMahon, after being a commentator for his own company for so many years turned a few heads! He introduced his son, and the likes of Degenration X were also founded! Ideas such as these grasped interest, and helped towards the popularity that we see of the WWF today. The Undertaker had what it took to beat THE GAME, but was unavailable due to injury. Shawn Micheals was getting too old, and withdrew from competing. Now enter: Mick Foley - with his mad triple persona of Dude Love, Cactus Jack, and HHH's more longstanding rival, Mankind, he was the perfect opponent to intimidate, and go up against HHH. Cage matches, Hell in the Cell Galore! The WWF had what it was looking for - Ratings, and new found popularity. Well done to the insiders of the WWF for bringing the federation back to the status which it held for many years - THE BEST WRESTLING FEDERATION IN THE WORLD!
This film amazed me. The high quality of acting by the two main protaganists was superb. The young by portrayed fear, calmness, and more, all with a realism unrivalled by many. The eerie, yet intruiging movie had me on the edge of my seat, and feeling exactly what the characters felt. I did not get borde with this movie at all, and it had my full attention all the way through. I sururb script, and excellent casting allowed this movie to become a blockbuter, and not to my surprise!!
