A couple of months ago the guys at Dooyoo “persuaded” me to become one of their Community Guides. I chose the Computer category. I felt that having spent 37 years in the IT industry it might be a subject about which I knew a little bit. Are you regretting it yet Dooyoo? I've enjoyed the experience so far and I hope that those of you who have had their masterpieces examined by me aren't feeling too aggrieved. I *have* recommended reviews for Crowns but, beware, my standards are tough, no less would I expect of those who likewise judge mine.
More than anything I have been astonished about the extent to which plagiarism infects reviews posted. I have an instinct for when a review is not an original work and more often than not I turn out to be right. Watch out, if you think you are going to get away with it; think again. I will report you to Dooyoo and they do take action (Review_Master, are you reading this or have you gone for good – Good Riddance?).
Although I have been retired now for nearly a year, it doesn't mean that I have time on my hands. I have found retirement is a double-edged sword. It gives you spare time to catch up on all those things you wanted to do but before long you find yourself hoping for something new. So, I'm training for a new job. I will write a review about my experiences in due course. So, there are times when Dooyoo has to go on the back-burner.
I do, however, try to read as many reviews as I can and in the Computer category I read every one, except those that are in the Applications sub-category, where I read those that interest me. They shouldn't be here and I'm trying to get Dooyoo to transfer them all to The Duke's Software category, where they really ought to be. Hopefully The Duke is reviewing all of them until they finally go to their new home.
Other reviews I read where they are about something that is of interest to me. Sorry, but I'm simply not a “serial reader”. If I haven't read your latest review of your favourite mascara or the latest release by your favourite heavy metal group, don't feel slighted. To me these categories are not “Useful” by definition. I'm sure there are others who can't get enough of them.
However, my compliments on the general high quality of the contributions. Please don't feel slighted if I only gave your opinion a "Useful". I believe that "Very Useful" should only be used for contributions of a very high standard. If that means you want to revise ratings you gave me then I won't feel aggrieved.
I write opinions as well, as often as I can but not as often as I would like. I do it just for fun and in the hopes that my observations may be useful. All my Dooyoo Miles go to my favourite local charity (Parkside in Aldershot, a local affiliate of MENCAP).
One last thing, if you are on Facebook then be aware that there is a dooyooers group there. I've joined. Hope to see you there too, soon.
