      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Fantastic product, a must buy!

Good Things Total Wipe Out Cleansing Wipes

As I wrote in my review of the Good Things Deep Clean Blackhead Exfoliator, whilst I was out on a girly shopping trip, my friend and I were in Boots stocking up on essential beauty products. She began telling me about this brand of really fruity, effective products, and showed me where they were so that I could see them for myself. I love fruity scents, and could not resist buying a few to try.

** What is it and what does it do? **

The Good Things Total Wipe Out Cleansing Blackhead Exfoliator have been developed by award winning beauty writer Alice Hart-Davis and are designed to make the most of young skin. The packaging states that "The Good Things range uses superfruit beauty boosters in gentle, super-effective formulations" and proudly states on the front of the packaging that it is free from: parabens, mineral oils, sodium laureth sulphate and animal ingredients. It only contains good things, making this range suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

The packaging states that these soft wipes are impregnated with a gentle yet effective formula that removes make-up with one careful swipe. Enriched with aloe vera and vitamin E, they are gentle enough for sensitive skin. The wipes are also biodegradable, so they are better for the planet too. All of the lovely good things in the wipes leave my skin feeling soft, smooth and clean, without making it feel tight, dry or greasy.

      **How to Use**

As with all wipes, the directions are really simple. The packaging states that you should 'Lift the adhesive panel. Remove a wipe and cleanse your face. Re-seal the panel straight away to prevent the wipes from drying out.
Avoid direct contact with eyes. If product gets into the eyes rinse well with water immediately.'

      **product and packaging...**

The cleansing wipes come packaged inside a square plastic packet which has all of the information and instructions on the back. The packet has a re-sealable cover, and this helps to keep the wipes as fresh possible and stops them drying out. Once you have peeled back the cover, you simply remove one of the wipes and use it to cleanse your face. Once you have used the wipe, simply throw it in the bin.

The cleansing wipes are white and quite large compared to most other wipes. The fruity scent is very strong, which for me is nice, however, I was pleased to find that although I could smell a faint fruity scent after I had finished using the wipe, it was not overpowering or very noticeable.
This range of products have been designed with those in their late teens to early thirties in mind, and the funky design on the packaging reflects this. The range is very broad, so it would be possible to have all of your bathroom essentials matching, if you so wish. They also look similar to much more high end brands.

      **price and availability...**

This product brand is becoming more widely available in chemists and supermarkets. I purchased the cleansing wipes whilst they was on a 2 for £6 offer from Boots, which is good value for money but it's rrp is only £3.49 so it is not likely to break the bank. I have also seen them available to buy in Superdrug and Tescos.

      **verdict**
I love this range of products, and this one is no exception. They are so easy to use and they leave my skin feeling very soft and smooth. I like the fruity fragrance and the fact that it is free from so many nasty ingredients.

I would definitely buy these again. They work for me, smell great and are available at very good prices. This entire range is fantastic, and it is so diverse that there is certainly one for everyone to try.

      Disadvantages

      A fantastic everyday essential

      Soap and Glory Hand Food

I have been a fan of Soap and Glory products for a few years now, and last year I decided to treat myself to the extra-large Soap and Glory Christmas gift set. There were a few items that I had not tried before, but I was very pleased to be able to rediscover such an old favorite of mine.

** what is it and what does it do? **

Soap and Glory Hand Food is a hydrating hand cream that contains shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow. The Boots website states that you should "Apply a little Soap & Glory Hand Food Hand Cream as often as you want to soften, smooth and soothe dry, chapped or otherwise hampered hands and relish in the delightful aroma's of fresh bergamot, strawberries and mandarin, with floral and fruity midnotes, and musk, amber and warm vanilla".
      **product and packaging...**

The product comes packaged inside a 125 ml tube which has all of the information and instructions on the back. The bottle has a flip up/ push back on lid. The product is dispensed by squeezing the tube..just like a large tube of toothpaste. You do not need to use much of this product for it to be effective. I squeeze an amount smaller than a 20p piece and it is plenty enough for complete application to my hands. The tube is designed to stand on its lid so that as much as possible can be used, minimizing waste.

The product itself is pearly white, and comes out of the tube in a very steady way. There is very little risk of too much of this product coming out of the tube without real force. I really liked the fragrance, especially as it was not overpowering or very noticeable. It hydrated and soothed my hands without making them greasy or sticky. I generally use this cream 2-3 times a day and it lasts for ages.
This range of products have been designed with those in their late teens to early thirties in mind, and the tongue in cheek design on the packaging reflects this. The range is very broad, so it would be possible to have all of your bathroom essentials matching, if you so wish. They also look similar to much more high end brands.

      **price and availability...**

As with the whole Soap and Glory range, it is exclusive to Boots, but this product is a staple in the line and is available in pretty much every Boots store. It's rrp is £5 so it is not likely to break the bank, but there are always special offers on the whole of the Soap and Glory range, such as 3 for 2 or a free product if you spend over a certain amount.

I love this range of products, and this one is no exception. It is easy to apply and leaves my skin feeling very soft and smooth. I like the fragrance and the fact that it is easily absorbed into the skin and a little goes a long way. It leaves the skin feeling softer and smooth, and the results are long lasting.

I would definitely buy this again. It works for me, smells great and is available at very good prices. This entire range is certainly one to try.

Full of good things and good for your skin

It only contains good things, making this range suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
The packaging states that this exfoliator contains smooth micro-beads help to whisk away the dead skin cells that threaten to block pores and create blackheads. Special ingredients include skin-soothing licorice and willow-bark extract which both help to reduce bacteria-levels, while papaya extract help to boost skin radiance. It is also specially formulated for skins prone to breakouts and congestion.

      **How to Use**

Every morning and evening, massage onto wet skin using gentle, circular motions, paying special attention to the nose, chin and forehead. Rinse well with warm water.
Avoid direct contact with eyes. If product gets into the eyes rinse well with water immediately. Due to natural extracts, color may vary.

      **product and packaging...**

The product comes packaged inside a 150 ml tube which has all of the information and instructions on the back. The bottle has a flip up push back on lid, and my only negative comment about this product is that it can be difficult to flip the lid once your hands are wet, and if you flip the lid before wetting your hands, then the exfoliator drips out. The product is dispensed by squeezing the tube...just like a large tube of toothpaste. You do not need to use much of this product for it to be effective. I squeeze an amount smaller than a 10p piece and it is plenty enough for complete application to my face. The tube is designed to stand on its lid so that as much as possible can be used, minimizing waste.

The product itself is pearly white, with small white micro-beads, which exfoliate the skin, leaving it looking soft and smooth. Funnily enough, the texture reminds me of Calpol, in that it was like you could feel the sugar in it. Upon using the exfoliator, the fruity scent is very strong, which for me is nice, however, I was pleased to find that although I could smell a faint fruity scent after I had washed the product from my face, it was not overpowering or very noticeable.

I'm not sure how good it is at removing blackheads, but it does leave my dry skin feeling soft, smooth and polished. It is an easy step to add to my routine and is not too harsh on my skin, as some exfoliators can be.

I would definitely buy this again. It works for me, smells great and is available at very good prices. This entire range is certainly one to try.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A great all around product

As one of my new years goals (I don't do resolutions, but I usually come up with a few goals i'd like to achieve), I decided that it was time to start a proper routine that was kind to my skin but not too expensive. My skin is quite good overall, but I do have dry patches, and my skin is quite sensitive too so I am always mindful of this when I buy a new product.

Simple is a brand that aims to make it's products as simple as possible. There are no added artificial perfumes or colors that can often cause sensitivity, and they are also really affordable. Whilst I was shopping in my local Boots store, I saw that they had a BOGOF offer on Simple products. I thought that it would be the perfect opportunity to try something new, and one of the items I bought was a pack of Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes.

The wipes come in a pack of 25, so for me they last around 5 weeks as I usually thoroughly wash and pamper my face two days a week. They normally cost around £2.50 (rrp is £2.99) but there are always offers on if you shop around.

The new and improved wipes are advertised as being softer and thicker, which is perfect if you have been wearing make up all day. The increased thickness is noticeable and they feel more sturdy than some of the wipes I have tried in the past. They also contain Vitamin E as well as Pro Vitamin B5 to help make your skin look and feel even better. As there is no alcohol in the wipes, your skin does not dry out, and the lack of oil also helps to prevent shine.

I have been using these wipes for about three months now and I can feel the difference between these and other wipes. They are much thicker and so much softer. They remove all my make up, including waterproof mascara, so I don't wake up looking like a panda, and they have helped to visibly improve my skin. They have a subtle, pleasant scent to them and are so quick and easy to use.

Overall I would say that these wipes are a quick and easy way to improve your skin without hurting your bank balance.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A great, unique candle

For my birthday I was lucky enough to be given a gift set of Yankee Candle wax tarts that a friend had complied for me, filled with some of my favorites, and some that I had never tried before. I was excited to try all of the scents that I had never tried before, and to see how they compared to my favorites.

I had seen this scent for sale in a variety of shops but I had always shied away from it as the dark black color is so different from all of the other candles. Upon smelling the tart, the distinct masculine fragrance was immediately noticeable. My first thought was that it smells very similar to the Lynx body sprays. Although it is not unpleasant, it was not what I was expecting.

I removed the wax tart from the packaging and placed in on the top of the wax burner. I lit a regular unscented tea light underneath and settled down to watch a DVD. After around 10 minutes, I began to smell the fragrance of the wax tart. It was not as obvious as it had been in the packaging, and had an obvious masculine scent that was not at all unpleasant.

The wax tart is a deep blue/black and stands out in contrast to all other Yankee Candles. There is no mistaking this one. Whilst it certainly catches your eye amid all of the other brightly colored candles, it is also a stand out fragrance. My wax burner is clear so the wax can be seen whilst I am using it, and it did catch my eye a few times, but it was not off putting enough to stop me from using it again.

The wax tarts, as well as being very affordable, also have the added ability to be mixed with other wax tarts to create fragrances that cannot be bought in stores. I have not tried to mix this one with any yet, but I think that it could work great with one of the 'fresh' scents like clean cotton. The small size of them also means that they can be easily stored. The jars look great on display, but the wax tarts do not look as good.

I was able to get around 8 hours of fragrance from this wax tart, which is the time stated on the packaging, so I am pleased with that. The fragrance lingered a little too, which was very pleasant as I moved in and out of the room.

The Yankee Candle price range is from £1.20 to £19.99, and the wax tarts are the cheapest. There are many retailers however, that do special offers on certain fragrances where you can get 25% off the 'fragrance of the month' and they change each month. Many websites have this or a similar offer, and I know that on the high street, Clintons also has this offer. It is great to stock up when you see that your favorite scent is 25% off as it really does make them super affordable.

Overall I am really impressed with this fragrance. It was a big change from the fruity scents that I usually burn and made a nice change. I think that this scent would most appeal to people who are not a fan of floral candles and who want a change from the usual fruity ones that they usually burn. It would also be great to introduce a man to Yankee Candles as many men think of bright colors and flowery scents when they think of candles, so this one might win them round.

A lovely fragrance to brighten up your day

This review is of the Vanilla Cupcake wax tarts, but does refer to the other forms that the fragrance is available in.

For my birthday, several of my friends gave me Yankee Candles as presents. One friend made me a gift set of around 20 wax tarts, and Vanilla Cupcake was one of the scents in the set. I had never tried this fragrance, but I love trying new scents and mixing them to come up with my own combinations.

At first I was a little worried that the fragrance would be overpowering, as I could distinctly smell it before I had even opened the packaging. I removed the plastic wrapper, placed the tart on the burner and lit a tea light underneath. Although Yankee Candle recommend that you use their unscented tea lights, I have always just used cheaper ones and do not think that they would improve anything. Within a few minutes of lighting the tea light, the sweet, buttery vanilla scent began to drift through the room. It was not as overpowering as I worried it might be, but it certainly made my mouth water.

I was extremely impressed with this wax tart, both in terms of fragrance and longevity. I easily got more than the 8 hours of fragrance that is stated on the packet, and I would place it closer to 9 hours. The wax is a lovely buttery yellow, and matches the color of the icing on the cupcake on the packaging. As well as wax tarts, this fragrance can be purchased in the full range of sizes from tea lights and sampler candles all the way through to tumblers and jars. There have been new additions to the Yankee range, and they have also introduced the Vanilla Cupcake tumblers with a different label, that says 'Happy Birthday', making them perfect ot give as a gift.

The wax tarts usually cost about £1.20 each, but a wide variety of retailers often have a Fragrance of the Month deal where you can get a scent for 25% discount. The wax tarts are a cheap, affordable way to try a variety of fragrances, before you invest in a larger sized candle. The tarts also have the added benefit of mixology, which is when you break two or more tarts in half and add them to your wax burner to make your own unique scents.

I would highly recommend the Vanilla Cupcake range to all fans of sweet scents and cupcakes. They also make lovely gifts for anyone with a sweet tooth, or as a birthday gift for those trying to lose weight but still have that lovely freshly made cake fragrance. Overall, I am glad that I tried this even though I was skeptical at first. I am looking forward to mixing it with some fruit scents too.

          Disadvantages

A fantastic full bodied flavor and very moreish

I recently saw an offer on in Asda for Walkers Sensations: Oriental Crackers in Peking Spare Rib flavor and decided to try them. I enjoy prawn crackers and thought that they may be similar. At the time I bought them, they were £1 a bag, and I have seen very similar offers in a range of supermarkets since I first bought them.

I decided to save them until I was having a film night and was more than pleasantly surprised when I opened the bag. As soon as I opened the bag, I could smell a distinctively meaty smell. The crackers are smaller than prawn crackers, but what they lack in size they make up for in flavor.

The taste of the spare rib and the Asian spices fill your mouth right away and you find yourself sucking the cracker to get the full effect of the flavor. As it says on the back of the packet "The flavor of sweet, sticky pork hits the taste buds first, before ginger and pepper add spicy heat, making way for a distinctly oriental aniseed finish." Personally I could not taste the aniseed and I did not find them to be too spicy. There is a little kick from the pepper but it is not too strong at all.

There is a lovely crunch to them as you bite into them but they are not hard at all. They are the perfect mix of crisp and prawn cracker. The only downside is that as with most packets of crisps today, you do not get a massive amount even though the bag is quite large. I would suggest that one 110g bag would be perfect for two or three people to share as they are quite moreish and you may need to get two bags if you are sharing them with more people.

The packaging is very typical of Walkers, but with a bit of an Asian twist. The logo and fonts are as you would usually find on any packet of their crisps, and the key flavors (ginger and spices) are pictured on the front of the bag. Extra decoration has been added though to make this product stand out and look distinctive.

Overall I would say that these crackers are excellent value for money when they are on offer, but I would also buy them at their regular price. I would prefer them to be in a smaller bag, as I feel that the size of the bag is a waste, but other than that I am very happy with them.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          A fantastic summer fragrance

As I have mentioned in my previous reviews, I am a huge Yankee Candle fan. I have tried a wide range of their scents but I always return to the fruit based scents. I am not much of a flower or food girl. I like my candles to be uplifting and fresh smelling, and that is exactly how I would describe the Country Lemonade candle.

I often like to burn candles at the weekend whilst I am relaxing so that I can truly enjoy the full effects of their scent. It really adds something special to a lazy day off work. It always makes everything seem so much more indulgent. I usually but the wax tarts or votive sampler candles to try a new fragrance before I invest in a larger candle. This also allows you to light several different candles and really create your own fragrance.

I love the smell of lemons and citrus fruits in general, and good quality scented candles always make my mouth water. This scent is no exception. The zesty lemon scent is noticeable as soon as you remove the packaging. The Country Lemonade candle is a very pale yellow color, and reminds me of homemade lemonade. The scent is very reminiscent of lemonade and once again is a true to life fragrance that has made Yankee Candles such a well known and respected brand. When I use the wax tarts, the scent travels well and I often get closer to 10 hours fragrance rather than the 8 hours stated. The scent is heavy enough to notice as you move from room to room but is not overpowering or sickly sweet. Unlike the Sparkling Lemon fragrance, this scent is more subtle and understated. Perfect for a lazy day or for entertaining in the spring or summer.

On the Yankee Candle website they state that the wax tarts give around 8 hours of fragrance and that the sampler votive candles give 15 hours of fragrance. For less than £2 each, this offers excellent value whilst allowing you to almost 'try before you buy'. The large jars, which cost around £19.99 offer 100=150 hours of fragrance is burned correctly. Whilst it may seem expensive for something that you are just going to burn, it is well worth the cost to have a little luxury in your life.

The candles can be purchased both in a variety of stores such as Clinton Cards and department stores, as well as online. The online sites offer very competitive prices but I would recommend smelling the candles yourself in the stores to see which ones you like before ordering them online.

Overall, I would say that this is an excellent summer fragrance that adds an extra something special to any day. The scent travels well and lingers even after the candle has been put out. It would be an excellent gift for anyone who loves citrus scents and would be perfect to burn if you have guests coming over.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A fantastic fragrance to fill your home with.

I am a huge fan of Yankee Candles and I am also a huge fan of lemon scents, so this fragrance is a perfect combination for me. I have always loved anything with a lemon-y scent and as soon as I found the Country Lemon scented candles I was hooked. The Sparkling Lemon fragrance is a newer addition to Yankee Candles collection but it a new favorite of mine.

I often buy the votive samplers or wax tarts in a fragrance that I have not used before so that I can try it without having to spend a lot of money. The wax tarts cost around £1.20 and the samplers cost around £1.80 and both offer great value for money. I bought both the sampler and a wax tart as they were reduced to half price in my local Clintons store. They are also widely available on the internet for very competitive prices and can be found in larger department stores.

The candle wax is a really vibrant, bright yellow color and reminds me of summer and slices of lemon. The photograph on the packaging is a glass of lemonade and a slice of lemon being added to it, which is exactly what this candle smells like. Yankee are known for their true to life fragrances and this one is no exception. Whilst it does not smell like real lemons, it does smell like lemon products such as sherbet and lemonade. With this candle, you can experience all of the lemon sorbet, sherbet and lemonade without any of the calories!

The scent of the candle is very fresh and perfect for the summer. It is not one that I would use if I was wanting to relax, but it is a great pick me up and would be brilliant in the spring too as the first signs of summer arrive. As with so many of the Yankee Candles, the fragrance lingers and travels so well that you can catch hints of the fragrance as you move from room to room and it is still noticeable long after you have stopped burning the candle.

My overall opinion is that this is a wonderful, fruity scent that is perfect for the summer. It picks you up and puts you in a good mood. As the scent lasts so long it is great value for money and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys citrus scents. The wax tarts and votive candles are a great way to try a fragrance without spending too much money and the jars are a great investment when you find a scent you really love.

A fantastic winter scent but hard to find now

I am a huge fan of Yankee Candles and have tried a large number of their fragrances over the years. The Black Cherry fragrance has always remained my favorite so I was very excited to try the Cherries On Snow fragrance that was released for Christmas in 2011. The wax is a lighter shade of red than the Black Cherry one but still looks like a color that reminds you of fresh cherries.

The design on the label is bright and eye catching, whilst artistically displaying the inspiration for the scent. As with all Yankee Candles, they are available in a range of sizes and prices so there is something for everyone. I first bought the votive sampler candle to use before returning to buy the small jar.

The scent has a fruity sour note in it that is not present in the Black Cherry fragrance, and you can certainly tell the difference between the two. In its product description Yankee claims that this one is "An enchanted, sparkling blend of bright, juicy cherries with sweet almonds and an icy freshness" and it does not fail to live up to it's hype. As soon as I removed the sampler from the packaging I could smell the lovely fresh cherry smell. The scent became even more noticeable a few moments after I lit the candle, as the lovely cherry fragrance began to fill the room. The tangy scent was strong enough to be noticed without being overpowering. As with many of the Yankee Candles, the scent lingered for quite some time even after I had distinguished the flame.

I purchase my Yankee Candles either in my local Clintons store, where they often have offers on certain fragrances or online, where there are a number of companies offering very competitive prices. I purchased both of my Cherries On Snow candles in Clintons. The sampler, which I purchased in the run up to Christmas was £1.75, and I purchased the small jar after Christmas as it was reduced to the amazing price of £3.99. Due to the seasonal nature of this fragrance, it may be difficult to find unless it is re-released for another Christmas. I would certainly stock up in this fragrance though if it did return.

A fantastic true to life fragrance

I have been a fan of Yankee Candles for a long time now, and over the years I have tried a variety of fragrances and candle sizes produced by this incredible, innovative candle company, but Black Cherry has always remained my favorite fragrance.

Although it can be argued that Yankee Candles are very expensive, if you appreciate good quality and true to life fragrances then it is well worth the cost. I regularly buy my candles either in my local branch of Clintons, which often has offers on or certain fragrances on special offer, or online, where there are a number of retailers offering very competitive prices and new, exciting fragrances.

Yankee Candles come in a range of sizes, starting with the wax tarts and ending with the large jars. There is something to suit everyone in terms of price, size and burn time. When I first began using Yankee Candles, I bought the sampler (or votive) candles, as they were less than £2 and would give me a good idea of how the fragrance smelt when being burned, allowing me to decide if it was a fragrance I would like to purchase in a larger size.

The wax tarts burn for eight hours, and retail at around £1.20 each. You can even combine the tarts to create your own fragrances. I often find that just burning one of these tarts is enough to fill a large part of my house with the fragrance. The large jars cost £19.99 and burn for 90-150 hours. Yankee Candle recommends that you burn the jar candles for a minimum of 3 hours at a time to stop the candle from tunneling and to get maximum fragrance from the candle.

The Black Cherry candles are a lovely, rich deep red color that does remind you of cherries. As soon as you remove the packaging or take off the lid, the intense, deep, fruity black cherry scent immediately hits you. It captures the rich, juicy sweetness of ripe cherries and brings them straight into your home. Whilst the scent is intense, it is not overpowering or sickly sweet. It is the perfect fragrance to uplift you and wake you up.

I often find myself noticing the fragrance if I move around the house as I catch a hint of it whilst I have it burning in another room. It is a scent that lingers and travels well. Remember to not leave candles unattended though!

            A brilliant shower time luxury

I am a huge fan of the whole Soap & Glory range, and this product is no exception. I bought the travel size 75ml bottle of Clean On Me to take away with me on holiday. There are a wide variety of products in the Soap & Glory range that are available to purchase as travel sizes, and it is an excellent way to try out a product before spending more money and having a huge bottle of something you may not like.

            The Product
The shower gel is a lovely creamy colour, and smells very soft and feminine. It is light and not at all overpowering. The gel contains moisturising lotion to help keep your skin extra soft as well as wonderfully clean. I find that you only need to use a little of the gel, and it does not dry my skin out at all. It also does not irritate my sensitive skin. All of the Soap & Glory products are free from animal testing and are kind to skin. The pump of the larger bottle helps to release the right amount of gel and is easy to use, and the travel size bottle is easy to use but does not give the smaller set amounts.

            Packaging
Soap & Glory Clean On Me shower gel is available in both a 500ml bottle and a 75ml travel size bottle. The 500ml bottle features a pump top, whilst the travel bottle features a regular screw cap. As with all the products in the Soap & Glory range, Clean On Me comes in a clear bottle so that you can see how much you have left, and the label features a retro 1950s style. The packaging is distinctive and very feminine.

            Price
The 500ml bottle is available to buy in Boots for £5.50, and the 75ml bottle is priced at £2.50. Although this makes the travel size more pricey, it is worth it to try it out before buying the larger version. There are also offers on the travel sized products (usually 3 for 2) which make them better value and a chance to try more of the range. I believe that the 500ml bottle is excellent value for money, whilst the travel size bottle is a great alternative to splashing out on a large bottle without knowing you will use it all. At £5.50, the 500ml bottle is pricey compared to some brands, but it is a fantastic product and everyone is worth a little luxury.

Fantastic facial cleansing wipes at a great price

Whilst shopping in town the other day, I came across these Nivea Daily Essentials Cleansing Wipes. I am always on the look out for new things to try that are specifically for people with sensitive skin. Nivea is a brand that I love as their Nivea Soft moisturising cream is the only one that I have found that works on my sensitive, often dry skin.

The packaging states that the wipes "gently cleanses, tones and hydrates. Removes make-up and waterproof mascara and is suitable for sensitive eyes". Im not quite sure why they would need to be suitable for sensitive eyes, other than to remove mascara, but they are also alcohol free and contain natural almond oil and calendula extract.

These wipes were on offer in Wilkinsons at £1 for 20 wipes, which I belive is excellent value for such a reputable brand. These wipes are easily available in other stores too such as Boots and Superdrug, and you get points there too! There are also a wide variety of other facial wipes in the Nivea Visage Daily Essentials range, so there is something for everyone.

The packaging is very similar to other brands of facial wipes, but I like that the type of skin they are for e.g. dry and sensitive, is highlighted in a dark pink, making them attractive and easy to spot. There is alos a pretty pink flower on the packaging that ties in with the pink highlighting the skin type.

I usually use these wipes to remove my make up and cleanse my skin at the end of the day, but they are suitable for use both in the morning to cleanse the skin and then again in the night. The wipes are very soft and smooth, making them much more enjoyable to use. They smell similar to baby powder and after using one, I can feel a difference in my skin. In order to maximise the hydrating effect of the wipes I always put my moisturising cream on afterwards, but if your skin is usually okay, then you could skip this step and still have fantasticly smooth skin.

I have never had any problems removing my make up with these wipes, which is fantastic as often if you use wipes that claim to remove make up, you can go to bed at night and wake up with panda eyes from not fully removing your mascara properly. This makes life just a little easier, which is what we all need.

Overall, I am very happy with this product and I will happily buy them again, even if they are not on special offer. They suit my skin type and remove my make up easily.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Overall a fantastic perfume

My mum often buys me a variety of perfumes for Christmas. She usually buys me an expensive one, my everyday one and then something different to try. We often share perfumes so she usually picks something that we both like. One christmas, she bought me Kylie Minogue's first perfume. At first I was sceptical. I am not a big fan of celebrity perfumes and have often found them to be of lesser quality than non celebrity endorsed perfumes. I have to say though that I was more than pleasently surprised with this one.

            Fragrance:
This frangrance is a lot less floral than the perfumes that I usually wear so it is a nice and noticable change for me when I wear this. I would suggest that a woman in her late twenties to early thirties would be able to wear this as an everyday perfume as it smells less girly and more sophisticated than many on the market. The notes in the perfume are:
Top notes - passion fruit, freesia, lychee
            Heart notes- lily and boronia
Bottom notes- Sandlewood, amberwood and vanilla

This perfume does linger for a good number of hours, although I would recommend that you reapply it after a few hours if you do not want its effects to disappear. It does however cling to fabrics brilliantly, leaving them smelling lovely all day, long afte the perfume has worn off my own skin. I usually apply my perfume just before I head out the door in the morning and then reapply it in the late afternoon, giving me an extra boost as I can notice my perfume whilst I am working.

            Appearance:
Althought I think that this perfume is very different from other celebrity perfumes, I wish that I could say the same thing about the box and the bottle. The box is just like every other celebrity perfume, and is thin and flimsy. I appreciate the colours used on the box, but it looks like something they sell in discount stores rather than something that screams "wear this to be like kylie!". I like the shape and style of the bottle. It is easy to hold in my hand and the lid is a good size too. The colours used on the bottle match those used on the box. The lid is black plastic, but the attempt at using similar colours from the box on the glass bottle just makes it look as though it has been involved in an oil spill. As the glass is transparent though, it does allow you to see how much perfume you have left, so you know when to replace it.

            Cost:
A bottle of Kylie Minogue:Darling can be purchased for around £10. There are usually some great offers in places such as Boots, Superdrug, Body Care and online, so hunt around for the best deal. Overall, I think that this perfume is great value for money. It is a strong, noticable scent that lasts a long time and will suprise people when you tell them that it is a celebrity perfume. Gift sets that include shower gel and body lotion usually appear around christmas time, so if you are a fan of the scent it is worth investing in one of those for a layered scent.

A fantastic lip scrub but a bit pricey

I have always been a fan of Lush products, but due to the cost of the items, I have always kept my purchases to gifts or treats for myself on a special occasion. When I do treat myself or others though, I always enjoy perusing the varied and colourful items for sale.

I often pass a Lush store whilst on my way to work, and the sweet smell and colourful products in the window always make me wish that I could pop in instead of carrying on to work. A while ago, I was shopping for some little gifts for a friend's birthday and thought that Lush would be the perfect place to go. As well as picking out a lovely gift set for my friend, when I went to pay, I spotted the Lip Dip displayed on the counter right next to the lip balms. Having recieved and enjoyed using the chocolate lip balm for christmas several years ago, I thought that I would see what this new product was.

Lip Dip is a sherbert, cranberry and lemon flavour lip scrub, and it comes in a small glass pot with a black lid. A 25g pot cost £4.95, which is quite expensive, but the smell was just too good and I was interigued at how it would work, so I added it to my purchase.

The lip scrub itself is a sort of off-white colour, and although it has a scent, it is not overpowering as you only need to use a little bit of the scrub on your lips. The lip scrub is also more grainy than say a body scrub, but due to the placement of the scrub, it works perfectly. You do need to be gentle though otherwise you can scrub not only dead skin from your lips, but you can also damage healthy skin.

Although 25g is not a lot, it lasts so long because you only need a little and it goes a long way. I have used just under half the pot and I have used it about once a fortnight for quite a while.

Overall, it is a great smelling lip scrub that works well and is worth the cost as it lasts so long.
