I have bought this 1TB after I purchased a 500GB drive as a trial run.
After the success of my 500GB drive, I found that I still needed a drive but thought I needed a bigger and better one as this time I was adding all of my PS3 content and was going to run all my saved games and games installs onto it.
If you are thinking of doing this..... You have to re-format the drive from its NTFS state to the FAT32 that the PS3 uses. If you google how to do this, it really is quite simple.
Like the 500GB hard-drive, it is a plug and play, drag and drop drive.
Simply put, it is a piece of well..... its easy.
It plugs straight into your TV if you have backed up any DVDs.
Like most if not all current external Hard-Drives, This is powered by USB.
This hard drive makes a little clicking occasionally, I guess the drive gets a little stuck sometimes.
Currently on Amazon at £82.95, unless you are desperate, I would wait for it to go on sale.... I got it on eBay in a daily deal for £62.99.... BARGAIN!
I have bought this 500GB and a 1TB drive which I will review at a later date.
I was in desperate need for a larger drive to store all of my iTunes and family videos and photos etc on. I really did not want them clogging up my laptop hard-drive any longer.
This was just what I was looking for, I plugged it into my Laptop and after roughly 60 secs of finding drivers.... I was ready to start transferring files. So far, I have had no problems with this drive (touch wood) what so ever.
It also plugs straight into your TV if you have backed up any DVDs.
It is great piece of mind now knowing that I have all my personal files backed up. Although in theory the hard-drive can still malfunction, there is a lot less chance as my laptop is on its last legs.
This is powered by USB.
I am very happy with my puchase but if I had one gripe it would be that the drive does make a "clicking" noise sometimes.... I guess the drive gets a little stuck sometimes.
Reduced on Amazon at the moment to £48.99, worth the price
These are an absolute necessity for any gamer who plays online gaming. They allow you to hear everything and I mean everything that is going on around you that you Television set doesnt pick up.
I am a major Call of Duty player and with these in you can hear the foot steps of an advancing shooter. In Black Ops Zombies... You can hear the zombies coming from afar so you get a nice bit of warning to make a dash for it or to turn and shoot before they get a hit on you.
You can also plug them into a TV, PC, Laptop or stereo and watch/listen to anything in crystal clear sound.
You can also turn the chat up and the game volume down and vice versa... Basically, you decide what you want to hear.
You do not need batteries as they are USB powered.
The lead is 12 feet long so you do not need to sit too close to the TV.
They can also be used for just your normal online chat like Skype.
They are currently great value at £34.99 on Amazon and at that price, you cannot afford to not have them. They are also very comfortable over you head. Turtle Beach is a very well known brand and they are well known for a reason.
If I am being picky, I will say the only con is that the plastic is a little flimsy, although it is very durable.
In my opinion they are great....I for one are very happy with this headset.
I have been completely bowled over by the pure sexiness of this iPad, once again Apple have been spot on. I have found it to be lightnin' quick. Its sleek and slim in design. The Wi-Fi capabilities of it are great.... It picks up signals from people across the road from me.
The 16 GB memory is more than enough to store all the apps and games I need on it. There are two cameras, one to take a picture or film yourself and another to film and snap the more conventional way. Facetime is included on the iPad so you can actually see and talk to someone at the same time. The screen is full HD and you can tell, its crystal clear. It allows me to talk to my family all over the world and the best bit is it is completely free!
Battery/Performance wise, its amazing. I have found that I get around 8 hours use out of it once it hits 100%. It is seamless all the way down to the final 1%. Please bear in mind this obviously depends on what you use your iPad for. I have found that films & games use a LOT more battery power than listening to music and using apps like Facebook, twitter etc.
Sound is top notch, the built in speaker doesnt crack or cackle. The video is also just superb.
You can purchase either the 3G version or the Wi-Fi version. I opted for the Wi-Fi version as it was the cheaper of the two.
The iPad is still a little pricey but it is well worth the money.
To summarise.... I would be lost without it. If you have a spare £300 then go buy one, you wont regret it.
I bought this triple play Blu-ray/DVD/Download set after seeing all the series and watching the movie at the cinemas as soon as it was released.
This Movie is absolutely hilarious. If you are yet to taste the delights on the Inbetweeners, I suggest you take a punt on this. You wont regret it.... Unless you dont like laughing or Absolutely hate foul language as this movie had both in abundance.
It follows 4 friends through their experiences on holiday. It is based as soon as they finish 6th form. They go through a male teenagers usual trials and tribulations. Girls, drinks, arguments, even getting naked in the street after being conned for all your clothes.
The funny thing about inbetweeners (apart from the usual genius writing) is that I think most men will confess to being like one of the 4 characters at some point in their lives and have had friends like the other characters.
I have had this fan for 6 years now. It is still going strong despite being on every single day.
My house get very hot..... The insulation is ridiculous. I needed a fan.... I got this one. I have never needed to replace it as it does what it says on the label.
This has a 7 hour timer setting. It has 3 fan speeds.
It also has an 8 litre tank in the door at the front. If you fill this tank with freezing cold water and set the function on the panel to "cool add wet" then the fan will extract the cold air coming from this water and it makes an almighty massive difference. If you choose not to use the water function, then you can just use the tank as a draw and store this within the front door. Obviously do not use the "cool add wet" function though.
The only draw back from the fan is that it is very loud. I have become used to it now though and it has actually become oddly soothing. I find it hard to sleep without listening to it these days.
It is also very light (without the water of course) so you can carry it from room to room freely. Its rather large though.
There may well be a lot better spec'd air coolers these days but if you opt for this one, you will not be disappointed.
I got this tv for my 31st birthday from my wife. It is an awesome TV. It allows you to connect your Laptop to your TV. so you can play any games from the laptop and see it on the TV.
It also allows you to connect External hard-drives and flash pens to the TV via it USB ports. It has HDMI connections so you can play the PS3 in glorious Full HD 1080i LED backlit. The backlit function is amazing. The colour is sooooo refined that games are crisp and sharp. I have a LG 50 inch plasma in the living room but this LED TV which is stationed in my bedroom is by far my favourite purely for the LED backlit display.
It is very easy to navigate around the TV via the menu functions. It has sleep timer like most TVs do. One tip though, if you are planning to watch someone through connecting a external Hard-drive or flash pen and want to use the timer.... Set the timer before switching to USB as the TV for some strange reason will not allow you to set timer while it is on USB.
It also comes with built in freeview.
Great TV.... Get it
I have had my Dell Studio 1737 for 4 years now. I have definitely used laptops a lot faster before. Although that maybe down to the spec I chose.
I had a 4GB Ram.... This really didnt make much difference to the 1GB Ram laptops I have had in the past. For the last year however.... The plastic covering that goes around the screen fell off and the screen has now since then become "wobbly" with no stifness at all.
The screen doesnt close straight anymore, it closes at an angle so it hangs over the edge on the right hand side of the laptop and pertrudes in on the left.
The power button doesnt work anymore either. The only way I can now turn my laptop on is to close the lid.... This for some strange reason automatically turns the laptop on.
Another problem with the studio 17 is the touch button above the keyboard (just below the speaker area). sometimes the media light gets stuck on and the media player opens over and over and over again. The only way to stop this is to take the battery out at the back and do a hard reset. Speaking of the battery... Mine lasted just over a year. I have had to use my laptop via the plug for the last 2-3 years. I refuse to pay the ludicrous prices that Dell charge for a new one.
It started to slow down after one 3 months. It now takes 10-15 mins to boot up and for the egg timer to stop flashing.
All in all.... I have been completely dis-satisfied with a laptop that cost me close to £800 4 years ago.
I have 2 PS3s. The 60GB model which I have in the bedroom and my 25GB newer version is stationed in the frontroom to operate as a Blu-Ray/DVD player and a games console.
My 60GB version however is my baby. I love it. It has its flaws now after all these years. The reason I cant bring myself to part with it is unlike ALL of the newer models, this monster plays PS1 and PS2 games. I cant tell you how lost I would be without it. If I had the choice between a Brand New 60GB model or a new 250-320GB model... I would choose the 60GB everytime.
There are (as mentioned before) a couple of issues however. The Wi-Fi on this model is pretty poor. I have real trouble downloading patches/games/etc from upstairs (where my machine is stationed) as my modem is downstairs. The signal strength just doesn't get picked up brilliantly. The 60GB model is also very noisy. The "automatic shut down" if not been used doesn't always work. I sometimes fall asleep watching a dvd/Blu-ray and I wake up in the morning and it is extremely hot where it has been on ALL NIGHT and not shut down.
Games like LA Noire will not play on it.... Cant explain why! Maybe the machine just isn't powerful enough.
I can put aside all of these flaws with the machine as it is a work of art. Nothing (apart from buying a PS1 and a PS2) can replace the fact that it can play all playstation 1, 2 and 3 games.
I love it.
These errors may only be my machine, they may be due to the fact that my machine is old and has been used profusely for 6-7 years. This is a personal review.
Once again, Apple have it spot on. Gone are the days of the green and black screens.
Now we have this fantastic model of a phone which is revolutionary by anybodys standards.
The HD screen is amazing. It is crystal clear and I can honestly say I could never go back to a non-smartphone. Its suoer fast too!
The apps available in the app store is considerable to say the least. I have downloaded countless apps. They range from a free trial to fully paid apps.... Generally start from 69p up to £10 for normal games.
It comes with 2 cameras. One to face you and a camera to take normal pictures. It can also be used for the facetime app that it comes installed with to talk to anyone around the world for free. I use mine all the time and its BRILLIANT!
The touchscreen should never let you down. Just swipe and touch. Its as simple as that.
Sound is better than the old ipods but still not perfect although it is crystal clear when you have your earphones in.
Occasionally the home button stops working and I have to give it a little bash to "wake" it up a bit.
The battery life is more than sufficient especially if you turn you bluetooth off (which lets face it is a big let down) as you can only Bluetooth other Apple products.
My 16 GB memory comes in very handy to store all my songs, pics & games
It also comes with a very handy e-mail app, which is great. It is very easy to add e-mail accounts to .
If im honest.... I must say, I have been waiting a very long time for this. I was hoping that it would have come sooner but "good things come to those who wait" so they say.
Within this collection, we have Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 and Peace walker from the PSP making its first appearance on a console.
Graphics have been pepped up and look amazing.
Sound is now in full surround sound.
Picture is now 16:9 widescreen instead of full screen 4:3.
Metal Gear Solid 2 - Sons Of Liberty:
Game is divided into 2 chapters: Tanker (Solid Snake) & Plant/Big Shell (Raiden). Awesome game
Metal Gear Solid 3 - Snake Eater:
This is the Subsistance version of the game. Not the Snake Eater version as the name suggests. Brilliant Brilliant game. You play as Naked snake who later turns out to be Big Boss
Metal Gear Solid - Peace Walker:
I havent actually played this game yet so cannot comment but I can only assume that it is at worst.... Very good.
Hideo Kojima is a true legend and once again has come up with the goods. All I am waiting for now is a HD version of Metal Gear Solid from the PS1 and i will be in heaven
Although Pee Wee King remained leader of a very popular Western Swing band well into the 1950s, eventually the Rock 'N' Roll craze spelt the end for his kind of music. At the end of the 1950s, he broke up his band but continued to tour with Redd Stewart in Minnie Pearl's Roadshow, continuing to run the show after she retired in 1964 until 1968. In the 1970s, he devoted himself to business interests which included a booking agency and music publishing (he had been involved in the writing of more than 400 songs). In 1974, he was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Presented here are rare studio recordings from the 1950s, showcasing the very polished Western Swing style of Pee Wee King and His Golden West Cowboys, with King's own accordion much in evidence and the Stewart boys dividing the vocals.
I was brought up by parents of a slightly older generation so was listening to 30s, 40s and 50s music most of my upbringing.
26 Classic tracks including my favourites "Tennessee Tango" and "Tain`t What You Want". You wont regret buying this at a bargain price
I have to admit, this game still gets played today by my children. At the time of release I had never her of this Snake character. Who was he? Well let me tell you, since this game came out.... No one can ask that question. I was blissfully unaware of the previous Snake games prior to this on other platforms. However, once I put this game on, it really showed the full power of the once great PS1.
From the first scene where you meet snake, to the first of many bouts with Revolver Ocelot, to Vulcan Raven and the absolutely ingenious battle within Psycho Mantis.... Where you had to change your controller into port 2 of you PS1 so he couldnt read your mind.... I thought WHAT!!!! That is amazing.
This game may look a little dated now compared to the later PS2 and PS3 versions of the game. This game is all about gameplay and you get that in abundance. 2 Discs of absolute genious gameplay.
It is a long game aswell so unless you are ridiculously good at this game or play it on the easiest setting you should be playing this for a while. There are numerous difficulty levels for the gamers who like a challenge. There is a setting where if you get seen, its game over! I would dare anyone to prove they have completed the game on this level
In short.... A hall of fame game!
Yu-Gi-Oh - Forbidden Memories. This game was originally bought for my son to play... Myself and wife were put through hours of watching Yugi battle numerous (apparently random) people.
As it turns out though we all became (including myself and my wife) massive Yu-Gi-Oh fans. This is another card collecting game. It can get very repetative trying to duel the same higher class people over and over again trying to get a certain card to add to your deck. In this game, card effects that are on the actual cards and future games are not in effect. Cards that fuse in this game do not for the most part fuse together in the actual show.
If you have the patience and enjoy countless hours of dueling then this game is very good. If you get bored rather easy and want to progress within a game quickly then this game is not for you as it is impossible to complete without getting a certain level of cards. This in turn will require weeks of dueling.
I have completed the game myself (shows how sad I am).
Once you complete the game it gives you a code which you can use to claim a limited one off card to use on Duelist Of The Rose.
When I first got home with my X-Files game... Being a Mulder wannabe. I placed the disc in and fired up my PS1. I was shocked to find out that you dont actually play the game as either Mulder or Scully (i probably should have done a little research, but was too excited). You actually play as FBI field agent Craig Willmore. It is an out and out point and click game. This sounds lame..... However the graphics are unreal considering this was on the PS1!!!
It spans over 4 discs, which would suggest that it would be a very long game. However this is not the case and the drawback to having such wonderful graphics is that it had to put on numerous discs.
It is a very good game and I will not spoil any of the storyline apart from to tell you that you actually see VERY little of Mulder and Scully.
I would recommend this game to hardcore X-Files fans but that really is about it. I WAS/AM a hardcore X-Files so I loved it.
I have since re-bought this game from eBay to play on my 60gb PS3. It should hopefully be here in the next day or two.
