When faced with the question whether to buy a digital camera or to buy a camcorder, many people get in a fix. Digital cameras offer high resolution while camcorders offer flexibility and steady performance. But the trade-off of resolution in still picture is sometimes too much to take. Panasonic Lumix FZ300 gives the users the ability to use the camera as a video recorder that obviously eliminates the need for having a camcorder. Of course, that is not the main feature of it, but surely it helps in deciding between digital camera and camcorder.
Now what does this Lumix FZ300 offer? It is a digital camera that has 8-mega pixel image resolution, built-in flash (with external flash option) and 12X optical zoom. It has the mega optical image stabilizer function that helps in taking good pictures in spite of the shaking of hands. Well, theoretically, it helps a lot, but in practice you need to keep the camera steady to get better picture. Specially, if you use zoom, it is better not to expect anything from the image stabiliser. But in any event, the option is handy in taking quick pictures in short distance.
The camera has one LCD display that can be rotated to any direction, which helps a lot in taking pictures. Also it provides an electrical viewfinder which functions almost the same like an optical viewfinder. The brightness of the electrical viewfinder is a little bit more than natural, but that does not effect the pictures much.
The camera runs on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. It takes 2 hours to charge it fully but it does not take long to get it discharged if you are taking pictures with flash. But the good news is that you can keep one battery charging while using the other and the battery size is small enough to be placed inside the pocket of your trousers. The on screen display of charge helps you plan your battery replacements. If you are wondering if the pictures will be deleted from memory if you replace the battery, they won't.
The camera controls are incredibly user friendly (unless you are planning to go manual picture settings straight away) and you can manage the pictures in your memory card without having to connect the camera with your PC. In this connection, it can be said that you can see pictures from your camera either on your PC or on your TV using an AV cable (supplied with the camera).
The two step clicking option makes the camera best for focussing and image capturing. You can use this to customize your focus of the picture even when you are in an auto focus mode. The first half of the click focuses on the target and the second half takes the picture. If you target an object at certain distance and the camera gives you green signal, even if you move your focus from the target while keeping the button pressed the focus will not be changed. This is handy when you want to take blurry picture or a shot with blurry background.
The camera gives you two sets of preset modes that allows you to have pictures for the following conditions.
5. Night Portrait
6. Night Scenery
8. Soft Skin
9. Candle Night
13. Starry Sky
14. Panning (Following the motion of a subject)
These modes help to take pictures in difficult situations where taking a picture with normal camera may be difficult or impossible. You can mix and match some of these modes to get great pictures. For example, sitting in a dark room with only a dim light on you can take a portrait with the Starry Sky mode to see how you look in the dark. If you are more ambitious, you can set the aperture, exposure and shutter time on your own to get the best possible picture. Otherwise you may just play around with the different modes to see which one fits in for the best picture.
The camera comes with an image viewing software that makes life very easy for uploading images in your computer. If you are using Windows XP, you won't even need to install the driver as it would install the Camera on its own.
The pictures are saved on your PC by date the picture was taken which makes it even easier for you to keep track of when you took a picture. The baby mode allows you to keep track of the age of a baby in its pictures.
Although many of the shortcomings are already listed, some must be mentioned separately. Remember that the camera is not an digital SLR one, meaning the lens can not be replaced by another SLR lens. Also the memory supplied with the original package is too small for a camera with this much capacity. I recommend a memory of 1 gigabyte to use with this camera.
The price of this camera varies. You can always check the price of it at different stores. When I purchased it, its price ranged from 400 to 600 pounds in the market. I bought it online and would recommend others to do that as well, since there is little value added to shop a camera once you decide on the model.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ30 is in many ways the most valuable option for buyers with limited purchasing power. It looks great, gives good service, and is a good friend for those who want to learn photography. I would recommend it as a best-buy option for anything less than 380 pounds (without the memory card).
Thank you for reading the review.
When you hear sweet, what comes to your head first? Is it chocolates? Cakes? Pudding? Icecream? To me "sweet" comes in the shape of Ferrero Rocher. It is a round shaped chocolate filled with hazelnut, milk chocolate and other nuts. The best way to enjoy it is to unwrap one sweet and putting it inside mouth all at once. Although opinion may vary on how to enjoy it in the best possible way, the taste of it is unquestionably great.
The packeging of Ferrero Rocher is also great. The round shaped sweets are wrapped with golden foil and placed on brown coloured decorative paper. The container is designed to provide a crystal like effect that makes the sweets inside look like gems. It is not too expensive either. It makes a good gift item for everyday gifts and also a great way of having good times, that is if you are not too careful about your health.
The sweet pack looks great, but the mass production of this sweet has made it loose some of its charm. Nevertheless, Ferrero Rocher is one of the finest sweets in the market.
Argos provides a huge array of choice for its customers at their doorsteps. Even without going to the shop a person can get the thrill of choosing through hundreds of shopping options available for him/her. It is true that ebay or other web commerce sites may provide 100 times more options than argos, but Argos presents their commodities in a much more enjoyable way. The catalogue of Argos is therefore a great way of timepass for those who like to plan their income to be distributed over many important and unimportant commodities. Sometimes the catalogue seems freightening as one might find many of the products suitable for one's needs. From what I have seen, parents would hardly want this catalogue to fall in the hands of their kids, specially the parents with limited income. It is a pity, but it gives proper value to those who do not like to travel around a lot for shopping or do not like to keep looking at the PC screen to buy goods.
The best possible side of Argos is probably their after sales service. If your product has a guarantee and it starts to function a little less than properly while the guarantee is not over, Argos will change it without asking anything. All you need to do is to take the product back to Argos and claim it. The same is applicable for other big stores but in case of online retailers like Amazon and eBay, you may not even have a clue about how to claim the replacement.
The idea of Argos is more or less a revolutionary one as is eBay or Amazon. All these along with Argos are more environment friendly as they minimize the need for shopping spaces and travelling for consumers. If you are unsure about the quality of the products sold by Argos because they sell by catalogue, don't be. They are as good as the products available in any other retailer.
However, if you are after passing some quality time with your girlfriend, wife or your family on the shopfloor, then Argos may not be the best place to be in as they have only an area to order by reference number and collect it when your number is called. A specified area for all products in their catalogue for display would be a good offering from the side of Argos. However, they provide quick service anyway, which is invaluable for many people who have shortage of time.
In the end, I would recommend purchasing from Argos. Happy shopping and thanks for reading the review.
This review is for those who are looking for a job first time or looking for a career switch. Experienced personnel in any industry are not the targeted audience for this review. In UK there are so many recruitment consultants that one almost don't have to do anything to get a job. That is if a person wants to do a job. There are many good reasons for a person to get a job through an agent. Let me share my story to give an idea about the benefit of getting job through an agency.
I do not work in an agency, but I did get my first job on my own and the second one by an agency. So far, I have only positive things to say about my agent. When I got the first job, I focused on job availability rather than my skills and expertise. I underestimated my skills 1000 times. I started working on a shop floor as a general assistant at night. I was happy to earn the money there as I have no right to work in UK as a foreign national and there I seemed to get as much overtime as I wanted. I studied at daytime and worked at night. It was my legs that could not take the pressure and I had to leave the job in 8 months time. However, I registered with an agency that took a computer literacy test of mine and found that my skill with simple computer applications like Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc. was at the best possible standard they have seen in any person, which, to me, seemed like a very common knowledge that anyone should possess. However, they placed me with an employer who needed an expert on Excel and preferably adept with Access and Visual Basic as well. In the beginning I was afraid if I could do it or not, but I didn't show that lack of confidence to anyone. As a result, I got the chance to work on my own at my workplace. I completed the tasks assigned to me in almost no time and took responsibility of automating systems for other departments as well, I got chances to study VB on my own and work with many senior officials. After a while even some very senior colleagues of mine started to mention me as a specialist of programming and Access, which makes me embarassed (as I am shy in nature and don't feel confident about my skills by nature). But I have now come to understand how much I have underestimated my skills in computing. And if it was not for my agent I wouldn't have ever had thought about applying for this position.
Although I am currently undertaking a higher degree in accounting and I intend to become an accountant some day, I have gained valuable work experience and training on computer application from my current employment, which will give me confidence all through my life.
Coming from a country where there is almost no entry-level recruitment consultancy firm, I would suggest anyone to take the advantage of recruitment agencies. They might charge you some money, but they will make it worth it 100%.
I am not mentioning the name of my agency as it may seem that I am advertising them on their behalf. My purpose here is to talk about recruitment consultancy in general and not any particular agent. But if anyone specifically asks me for the name of my agent, I would be glad to share it with him / her.

I don't want to start by saying what iPod is or how great it is. It may very well be the best possible option in the market. And whaen I bought it, that was what made me buy it. But later on I found several problems with it that couldn't be solved till today. I generally write positive comments about everything and iPod too is a good purchase but beaware of the following two issues that I faced.
1. Highspped USB: If you pc is a little old and you don't know whether it has high speed or low speed USB then check that out first. When I bought iPod, one of my reasons to buy it was the fact that it is also an USB drive which I wanted to use to transfer data between the two PCs I had in my home. However, since one of the two was a bit old and didn't have highspeed USB, I was never successful in doing that.
2. I tune is not so great. I am not sure what is the case with many ppl, but I was not happy with using iTunes. I never bought any mp3 from iTunes. I downloaded mp3 and transferred them to the iPod. However, for what reason don't know, after the first transferring of mp3s iTune seem to get frozen on any attempt of music transferrig on my PC. I assume it is because of my operating system or so. It is not the fault of the specific iPod that I bought, because once my first iPod stopped playing music and I had to get it replaced from the seller. They replaced it immediately (great customer service), but the new iPod had the same problem in transferring songs.
In general, iPod is good, but after paying the price for the product you definitely don't want to see things not happening as you wanted, do you? Therefore I consider iPod as a little over average type of product.

The ROCK is a wrestler. At least that is what he is supposed to be. Everybody knows him as a wrestler first and then after his recent success in WWF he has become an actor of Hollywood. However, to my understanding, he had been a great actor from when he was wrestling for the first time. Because the whole act of wrestling is nothing but acting.
The biggest and most fascinating period of ROCK's career is, in my opinion, his fights against Steve Austin. Steve Austin is another famous wrestler like ROCK (this information is for those who are totally ignorant about wrestling). However, I think Austin Would never consider becoming an actor, although he also is one of the most successful actors in the arena of WWF. The ROCK's trademark move in wrestling is "The Rock Bottom". Another funny addition in WWF. People who fall from 10 to 20 feet above stage don't get hurt, but they seem to remain paralyzed after getting a ROCK Bottom. Sometimes I really wish to taste a rock bottom myself to see how much it hurts.
In any event, what makes ROCK so great is his speeches. You can't just be a wrestler and be famous. BUT it seems that you can be a great wrestler even if you are a 100 year old lad with partial or full visual impairment and also suffering from paralysis, only if you are a good orator and the wrestling organizers wanted so.
Probably that is why - Watching ROCK win the titles was not that bad a thing to accept.
I envy those who can write long reviews detailing where they went and what they did along with what are the things that can be of interest and so on. I am not that good a writer, but I believe in writing short reviews that exposes part of my experience to those who have no idea about the things that I am discussing. My review may not be self-sufficient. But I believe it is good to hear two persons comment "good" about something than to hear one person saying "VERY GOOD". That's why I am writing this review, otherwise I woudn't have even dared it.
I went to Matlock this Summer. I went there with my relatives and my Mom who has come to visit me in UK. My 40days old nephew also accompanied us on our visit. I don't really know the height of the place but there is cable car to get on the high mountain top. We went up and relaxed the entire day. Well, there were options for us to go into a cave or doing some exploration challenges, but we were too idle to do those things.
However, I would suggest, this place to those who are in love or who are newly married. The reason is that I would definitely consider visiting this place again if I am in either of those two situations. I can tell why I want that. When I saw the movie "Braveheart" for the first time, there was a scene where Mel Gibson sat down with his fiance on top of a hill in Scotland (probably) and they were enjoying their time together. Being a ordinary boy in a thirdworld country I could only dream of having a moment like that. However, I found Matlock to be of similar beauty at a easily accessible place. Therefore, it provides a good opportunity for those who want to enjoy it.
For those who want to take loads of picture, Matlock is great. However, we didn't get real good pictures inside the cable car. But otherwise it was a nice location to take pictures.
In a nutshell, this is a nice and romantic tourist spot and it is not over crowded and therefore verymuch enjoyable.

I don't know much about cinema making. I did not study about photography. Probably I have read very few novels in comparison to any modern person. Yet I can say that American Beauty is a phenomenal movie. It has a superb storyline. It is extremely picturasque. It makes the audiance, smile, anxious, laugh, angry, excited, depressed and in the end reliefed. In assence, it makes the audience see life in a different way.
I saw the movie alone first time. On my PC and with a headphone and full volume. I finished the movie and saw it start to end once again. And since then I have seen certain parts of it so many times. What I liked most about this movie is its ending. It is so amazingly beautiful. And it tells something that I want to believe, but I would only believe truly or not believe when my life ends too.
I do not want to reveal the story line. I believe the movie makers have made the adequate disclosure in its back to keep the movie interesting. And I need not spoil the fun. However, if anyone reads this review who hasn't seen this movie yet, I would recommend them to see it. Although I have seen many people so far who haven't liked it that much. But if you are like me, not watching this movie might be the greatest miss of your life.

A bank gives an idea of a place where money can be borrowed from and where money can be saved for investment without much risk. HSBC, from the viewpoint of an international student, doesn't meet those concepts very well. Firstly, you can't get loans from them because you are an international student. Secondly, their student's account doesn't provide you with almost any interest at all.
Yet, HSBC provides a valuable service to an international student by providing an account where s/he can bring and store money from his/her own country and reduces the risk of loosing money while abroad by providing a solo debit card. Although this card may not be accepted at many places including some railway stations (Loughborough to be specific), it provides a easy means to withdraw money from different places.
"The World's Local Bank" should do a little more for those who are trying hard to become the "locals of the world". I think there is much more to do on part of HSBC for an international student in UK at least.
Thank you for reading the review.
Can someone really be on holiday an entire year? Well, not really but to certain extent that is possible. As is the case for me. I am in UK as a student. It is the most richest persons in our country who can afford to come to UK for holiday making. Yet I am staying in UK exploring places that I had never been to before and meeting people whom I never thought of meeting in my life. How can I consider it something other than a holiday.
Well, as much as I like to have this holiday, I am missing my home too. I am thinking about going back to my country in the next summer as by then it would be almost 1 and half year for me outside my home. The thing that makes me stop thinking about going home is the air fare. It is so immensely high. I wish I could travel for a little cheaper.
In the event any of you know of any special offer on airline ticket to Bangladesh, please post that as a comment. I would appretiate that.
Thanks for reading the review.
I don't want to write a huge review on the body spray I use. It is a private type of product, so talking about it takes some courage to certain extent. I hope my writing will come worthy of reading at least.
My connection with Addidas is not too close. I am not a sports person, I am not a celebrity nor do I watch TV for long time to see too many Addidas ads. But I like this product of Addidas, because it does what it is supposed to do. It stops sweating or makes the sweat react with the content of this sparay and forms the liquid ito solid. Thereby it protects the user from body odor and gives chance to undertake hard labour at work place without thinking about image.
I have tried many deodorents in my life, and in the end I decided to stick to it. Therefore I recommend it to the people who like to work hard.
Thank you for reading the review.
Who are the viewers of WWF or WWE? I have seen boys and girls most age categories watching wrestling with utmost enthusiasm. Yet, the youth is probably the biggest fan of it. Not only they find watching it entertaining, they try to look alike their favourite wrestlers, collect goods, play WWF games, and even form clubs to talk about and keep track of their favourite wrestlers.
Am I a fan of it? Naaah, not really. However, I do find it interesting as it gives an opportunity to get close to children as they favour discussing about this. The most amazing part of WWF is that it is a global phenomenon. No matter where you go, you will always find a few who are keen on learning about WWF storylines.
When I first learned that all matches in Wrestling are generally fixed beforehand, I was astonished. It took me long time to believe it. Nevertheless, after watching WWF for such a long time, it is not a wonder any more. Yes, the wrestlers act on stage. However, they act well. It is better show than many other soap opera. That is why people watch it now. I appreciate the way in which WWF is entertaining people. In the end - I hope they will not promote violence in real life.
We live in an era where it is almost believed that practicing religion is foolish or dangerous. Somewhere I have heard before that "if you are capable of practicing your religion without any kind of intimidation or fear of anyone one else - you are luckier than many, as there are thousands of people who can't do that in the world". I personally believe that practicing no religion is also a type of religion. Religion doesn't necessarily has to be monotheistic or polytheistic in nature. It may be complete denial of God as well. I am not sure what the literary source of the word religion is but in my mother tongue, "Religion" is described by a word synonymous to "Characteristics". Therefore, to me no religion is also a type of characteristic of many people.
A consumer driven society can easily provide for all sorts of spiritualistic people, if not 100%; it should be about 90%. However, this is only my opinion and not supported by any survey. I am a Muslim myself. I find it easy to some extent to practice my religion. I am no scholar of my religion but only a few days ago I heard one scholar of my religion to say that many Muslims in today's world can acquire more knowledge than the previous saints of Islam with much less effort. But what makes it difficult for us to practice Islam is the materialistic world. There are far too many attraction to forget about religion now than to learn and practice it.
However, since Islam allows to do most business and trade that are ethical in nature, it is not difficult for a Muslim to find good means of living in the modern society. In fact, (to the best of my knowledge), Islam considers the Muslim who lives in a society in peace and practices religion as a better person than one who flees from the society to search for Allah (God).
We do not need to search Allah in deserts and forests. Allah could be waiting for us in our ailing neighbour's house, or at the places where disaster-stricken people are suffering in pain.
A consumer driven society can provide for the spiritual needs of the people, if they know where to look for spiritual relief. Coming from a country where I saw hundreds of children collecting food and livelihood from dustbins and landfills, I know where to look for my salvation. The national poet of my country (Kazi Nazrul Islam) wrote - "The greatest truth of all is human being and there is no greater truth than that". A consumer driven society provides for the need of human beings and that is more than sufficient to provide for the spirits of those who need salvation. At least that is what I believe.
Thanks for reading my reviews.
How I would love to see the world free of the association between certain religion and terrorism!
I was wondering why would I have to be blamed for my religion while never in my mind did I even think of hurting a person of another religion to get so called "80 Virgins" in paradise.
I was wondering why would some ppl have to desperately blow up themselves to make ppl of other religions more aggrassive on their religion.
I was wondering, why would someone accuse a whole population of certain quality for the faults of the few misguided and desperate ones.
Only one thing comes into my mind. It is like who will stop first. Probably no one, but How I would like to see people not to stereotype a group of people by the activity of a few. It is not as if democratically elected representitives of certain religion are waging war against some other country. Only a few desperate people who find no way to react upon their inability to have a role in the decision of their country's politics carry out these incidents. Can't they be just considered as other violators of law? Or if they are considered as a result of a war, what's the need to blame a religion? Stopping the war would be more than good enough to pacify the desperation of those few. While stereotyping would only create further enimity and bad blood.
Let there be peace in world.
Civilization is the authentic idea of its programmer who is considered as one of the masterminds of the PC games development industry. The concept of this game is so simple and yet so vast. For those who haven't ever played a turn based strategy game, it can be said as a modernized version of chess with some random elements in it too. The random factors are too hard to predict, but an expert player will find it as an evenly better challenge.
Simply speaking you start a civilization of your own in this game, then explore and expand in a primitive time and in due course of time you either dominate other civilizations or fall victim of their exploitation. While you lead your civilization for a long time you get to decide on many other things like your earning distribution, your people's happiness and exploration and conquest proirities. These are all available in other description available of all other civilization games that came later on. However, I want to focus on a few things that later versions won't give you.
If you are a buyer who is thinking about what to buy - Civilization 2, call to power or any other versions of civilization; I would recomend you to buy Civilization 2. The reason is simple, it is the classic one and all others are further developments of this game. The civilopedia and the civilization advance logos in this version still gives me a feeling that I am leading an ancient world and not a technologically advanced world. If I wanted to have a feeling of a technologically advanced primitive world, I would have played other Sci-Fi strategy games like "Alpha Centauri". (which I also did). However, everytime I start a new game with single Nomad in this version, I actually get a feeling that I am a lonely nomad in a vast uninhabited world.
The game, being open ended, lacks any direct storiline. Yet it has a successful ending through either conquest of the world (which is presumably the only objective of such a game) and astonishingly the second objective of settling down in a distance planet in the wake of growing unstability in world environment. In Alpha Centaurai, the designer of this game has successfully continued this game from its end with a similar and more surprising storiline.
Civilization is not only a good game for enjoyment, there is a whole generation of fans for this game who are less vocal but are keen on computer game developments. Once in a while, you are bound to find a fan of this game and just the fact whether you like this type of game or not will give you a inseperable bond with such a dedicated fan of this game.
For those who are tired of keeping track of what game technology is available and how expensive the most recent game is, this game should give a real dose of enjoyment if you can only take it by heart that old games are not always bad.
The music in this game is not good at all, animation "sub-standard or nil", network gaming possibility not too good (due to free time requirement of all network users). Yet, just for extremely good solo playability of this game, I cannot but give this game a five star. May Civilization 2 live in the hearts of all for ever.
