For most of my life I have had pale white skin, I have never had a tan, in the sun I burn and peel then back to my pale white skin, with a busy lifestyle with three kids etc, I dont have time to worry about my pale colored skin. However as the kids are a bit older now I have started to make more time for me, so I thought I would treat myself to a product in the Avon book called Skin so Soft, soft and glow moisturizer. According to the book this product will give you a gradual healthy looking tan. GREAT!! What is the product? This product is a moisturizer that can be used daily and through time it will build up a natural color on your skin, well it sounded perfect for me so I decided to buy it. I am not sure exactly how much it cost, but I do remember that it was on offer, I think it usually sells for around the £5.00 mark and it does seem to be on offer quite often, whether it be buy one get one free or just at a reduced price. So anyway I placed my order with my Avon rep and waited eagerly for my moisturizer to arrive. Packaging and promises Finally after what seemed like ages it arrived, the moisturizer comes in a 250ml tube, which is cream in color with a peach filp top lid, It stands upside down on the lid, which is quite handy as it sits comfortably on my cabinet, the Avon and Skin So Soft logos are both on the front of the tube, below this it says "Ultimate body moisturiser SPF15". The moisturiser I bought is for fair skin tones, as I am fair skinned, although there is moisturiser available for darker skin tones. At the back of the tube it gives information on how to use this product, it also promises to give your skin a natural glow after just three days of using the product, it also promises to moisturise, firm and protect skin from the sun. Other information on the back of the tube are the ingredients and Avons contact details. Using the moisturiser The instructions for using this products are very easy, basically the moisturiser should be used daily, it should be applied evenly to the skin and after use wash hands and the usual warning is avoid contact with eyes and keep out of the reach of children. The cream is white in color and needless to say is quite thick, the smell is quite nice, but not to strong, once the cream is applied it doesn't take long for it to dry into the skin, which is great if you are in a rush. The smell after use only lasts for a short while and it wont over par any perfume you may be wearing which is also good. My first use.... Well being far to eager to use the moisturiser I put a dolop of cream on to my hand and started to rub it into my arms to begin with, eventually I was finished and the cream dried in quite quickly, I couldn't wait until the third day to see if I had developed the "promised" natural glow..... The next morning......Oh dear, I had developed color alright but it was in blotches of an orange-y brown color. I realised I hadn't taken the time to make sure the cream was rubbed into my skin evenly, so the disaster was my own fault, I was just too eager!!! My second use Rght so I had a bath and the color washed off easy enough, so I attempted to use the cream again, only this time I made sure to take my time and make sure the cream was applied evenly, I squeezed the cream out onto my hand, then rubbed my hands together and then applied the cream, Yes this time it was applied evenly.... anyway after the second day of using the cream I had developed a color, which this time wasn't blotchy at all, great I thought, no more pale white skin. After a few more days of use I developed a better color, I started to use the moisturiser every other day as I didn't want to go to dark, as I have really pale skin, this seem ed to work, after a bath the color does fade but using the cream the colour is easy to build up again, although if you are in a rush always try to remember to wash your hands as if you dont in between your fingers tends to go an orange-y, brown colour, this happened to me once! I have noticed that my skin does feel soft and healthy since I have been using this cream. My opinion I was quite skeptical with this product at first, I couldn't wait to try it but I wasn't expecting it to work! well I was plesantly surprised when it did, I have used this moisturiser for the past two and a half weeks and I still have about half a tube left or maybe more, so I am hoping the tube should last for about six weeks or more, before I will need to buy anymore. Conclusion I would highly recommend this product, it is great value for money and it really does work! providing you are not as eager as me and end up blotchy lol, apart from my mistake this cream is easy to use, lasts for quite a while and smells really nice. Another thing I should mention is that the colour doesn't stain sheets or clothes. Thanks for reading
On a recent visit to Blackpool we visited the Blackpool zoo for the first time, although we have been to Blackpool twice before in the past few years we didn't go to the zoo during these visits, we read about the zoo on the internet and a few friends had told us it was really good. Unfornately we went to Blackpool for the illuminations and the weather wasn't great but we still went to the zoo and had a great day, the zoo opens at 10am and there is a bus running from Blackpool prom (outside the Tower) that takes you right to the zoo, however we didn't realise this so we got a taxi to the zoo. The entrance to the zoo is a building with the payment area, a kids play area and a cafe, above the tills there is a list of prices, for an adult the price is £13.99 and for a child the price is £9.99, although they also do family tickets for two adults and three children it cost £50. Once the payments have been made you then go through a small gate and are then into the outdoor area of the zoo, here is were there are large tortoises and a few other outdoor animals like peguins. Looking around the zoo I soon realised that all the animals were quite close together and there were no hills to climb, unlike the Belfast zoo. anyway there was and indoor insect area and an indoor bird area. Other animals included elephants, giraffes, monkies, tigers, lions, penguins, and many others. Upon entrance we were given a map of the zoo along with a list of activities going on in the zoo throughout the day, which was really useful. We were able to listen to a short talk about each animal, the talks lasted around 10 minutes and after this we watched as the animals were fed, later on we watch a short bird show which we seen a parrot fly through hoops in the air. Other activities that were going on in the zoo were face painting, which cost £4.00 for each child, a gorilla poo throwing competition, which cost 50p per child, my kids didn't fancy this though. In the insect enclosure there was a short period of time were we could hold certain insects. During the time walking around the insect enclosure we seen quite a lot of insects but one that really got my attention was the hissing cockroache, it looked creepy, however we held the cockroache it wasn't as creepy as it had first looked, we also held a stick insect and we stroked a lizard. Around the zoo there were plenty of areas to sit and and rest or have lunch. Although there was a cafe but we had already packed our own lunch so I'm not sure of the prices. Other things to do around the zoo was a trampoline and a bouncy castle, both of these cost around £2.00 each for a 5 minute go. There was also a park which was suited to toddlers. In the entrance building there was also a play area for kids, it was like a small version of Jungle Jims, the kids could play in ball pits and play on the rope bridges etc. There was a sign on the entrance to the play area saying that for 15 minutes it would cost £1.00 per child, however we were not charged for this, so I'm not sure if the charge applies or they made a mistake by not charging us. Also around the zoo there was also stalls were you could buy ice cream and juice etc, although the stalls were quite expensive we bought one bottle of juice and four ice creams which cost £8.00. All in all the zoo was really good, we were able to spend the whole day in the zoo and we all had a great day. We arrived at the zoo at 10am and didn't arrive back to our appartment until about 5.30pm. Another thing I should mention is that the bus stop is just outside the front entrace of the zoo, which is pretty handy. The bus cost us £2.00 each and £1.00 each for the kids, so altogether our fare was £6.00. On our trip to the zoo we spent around £75, which is quite expensive, however the zoo was excellent and as I said we were able to spend all day there and if we ever return to Blackpool we intend on returning to the zoo.
Lately I have been suffering with toothache, this is a pain which I just cant stand, I am like a bear with a sore head which my hubby and kids will definately vouch for lol, although I am in the process of getting work done to my teeth, I couldn't get an appointment with my dentist straight away, I have to wait for another three days, which I dont think I could manage to do without the help of some decent painkillers. Where to purchase The problem that is causing the pain is that I need a filling, I have a tempory tooth repair kit, so I used that which helped the pain a great deal although there was still some pain there, so I went to Tesco and I came across Nurofen Express painkillers, having used Nurofen before I knew that they relieved pain quite quickly, so at an expensive price of £3.53 I purchased a packet. The tablets come in a silver cardboard box, inside there are two strips of tablets, each strip holding eight painkillers which are 200mg each, the tablets are a bright red color and to be honest I found them quite hard to swallow, so lots of water needed when taking these tablets, also inside the box the instruction leaflet can be found, it is advisable to read this before taking the tablets. Warnings The box holds the usual warnings, not suitable for children under twelve, do not take if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, dont take more than six tablets in 24 hours and keep out of the reach of children. What these painkillers are suitable for Nurofen is suitable for several types of pain, which are as follows: headaches, period pain, dental pain, migraines backache, muscular pain, rheumatic pain, neuralgia, cold and flu symptoms and feverishness. Conculsion I have found these painkillers to be a godsend, they have really eased the pain and I would recommend them to anyone who has a toothache or any other pain for that matter. I have an important family event coming up, so I was out shopping for new clothes for myself husband and three kids, finally I had everything I needed for us all, (or so I thought) so I went home after a tiring day of shopping only to find that my camera didn't work, so of course this meant that another trip into town was required to purchase a camera, I wasn't after anything to expensive as the camera is only for family use. I went to Argos and had a look at their selection of digital cameras, most of them were quite expensive, however I noticed that they had one on sale (Hitachi HDC-571ES) The camera came in the usual cardboard box packaging, inside the box was the camera, the instruction booklet, a case for the camera, the software CD-ROM, a USB cable, a strap for the camera and a pack of two batteries, upon opening the packaging I was slightly shocked to see such a small camera, however it is quite cute and dainty and for all the size of it, it is quite heavy. (There fore it wouldn't be easy to loose) The camera is available in two colors which are blue or silver, I chose the silver one. According to the user guide the camera is equipped with 5.0 megapixel sensors and it is capable of taking photos with a resolution of up to 2560 x 1920 pixels. You can also purchase an SD card for the camera, however I bought the camera and don't know a lot about SD cards extra so I didn't bother to purchase one, luckily hubby had one from an old mobile phone and this done the job, The card is also available to purchase at Argos. As I said the camera is silver in color with the word Hitachi wrote in black lettering across the front of the camera and to my surprise it has very few buttons, This pleased me as I am a bit silly when it comes to all this technology stuff lol, I just leave it to hubby, he's like a big kid with a new toy when it comes to anything like this anyway at the top of the camera there is the power button and the shutter button, running down the right hand side is where you can find the focus switch which is for normal or macro mode, below this switch there is the USB connecter. There are a few other buttons on the back of the camera for viewing pictures that you have already taken and zoom in etc. The software is quick and easy to install, the process only takes a few minutes, once the installation has been completed you are ready to take photos and upload your photos onto your PC, you can also use the camera as a PC camera, however your PC will need a microphone, a sound card, speakers or headphones, network or internet connection, the software for using the camera for a PC camera is included on the CD-ROM but it is not suitable for Mac Platforms (according to the user guide) The camera can also be used to take some video clips and will do all the usual stuff that you would expect from a digital camera. When you are transferring files such as the photos or video clips onto your computer there are certain requirements, they are as follows: Pentium 166 MHz or higher Windows 2000/XP/Vista 128MB hard disk space 128MB RAM CD-ROM drive Available USB port Power PC G3/G4/G5 OS.9.0 OR later (I apologize if this list is not useful but as I said I am not good with technology so I thought that it might be useful to add this.) Some of the Specifications include: Recording media: 16MB internal memory (13.5MB for image storage) Supports SD/SDHC memory card up to 4GB File format Image format: JPEG video format: motion JPEG Self timer 10 sec delay Weight approximately 82g Other specs can be found at the back of the user manual. The camera is simple to use and the photos are off good quality, they can be easily deleted if you don't like them. The instruction manual provides step by step easy to follow instructions; all in all I am pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it. A few months before Christmas 2008 my daughter was looking through the Argos book making her list for Santa! One of the items she added to her list was the Girl Gourmet Deluxe Cupcake Maker, the cost for this item was around £34, looking at the picture of the Cupcake maker I wasn't fussed about buying it as we bought a similar product before which turned out to be a big disappointment. Over the weeks running up to Christmas all she talked about was this Cupcake Maker, so I decided to buy it for her, however I couldn't get one anywhere, and I knew she would be disappointed but there wasn't much I could do. Christmas Day finally arrived and off course I could see she was disappointed, she didn't mention anything about the Cupcake maker but I could just tell she was disappointed, so I told her she could save up her pocket money and buy it herself. She saved for quite a few weeks and eventually had enough to buy the Cupcake Maker, of we went to Argos to purchase it, when we discovered that if you bought the Cup Cake maker you could buy the refills for half price, so instead of paying the usual price of £9 she only had to pay £4.50, anyway with both the items purchased we went home. Arriving home my daughter was straight into opening the packaging; the Cupcake Maker was in quite a large cardboard box, although it wasn't heavy or awkward to carry. However inside the box was a different story, all parents will know how difficult it can be to get toys out of their packaging! Anyway eventually we got everything out. Inside the box you can expect to find: 1 Spoon - with a large side and a small side 1 Water dropper 1 Spatula 4 Cupcake papers 1 Mixing bowl 1 Microwave baker dish 1 cupcake cup 1 sprinkles container with sprinkles 1 Cupcake icer 1 Icing chamber 4 Shortcut cards 1 Instruction leaflet 4 Cupcake mixes - chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, caramel 4 Sugar Icing mixes - chocolate, vanilla, cheese, cinnamon We got everything organised and were ready to start making buns, it all seemed pretty straight forward, but we quickly realised that we could only make one bun at a time, I couldn't help but think that it was going to take ages to make these buns, I have three children and a husband all with a sweet tooth and expecting a bun each. Anyway making the buns is pretty straight forward, choose the flavour mix, empty into the mixing bowl, add 1 spoonful of cold water using the large end of the spoon and mix, if you require extra water use the water dropper, once this is done you add the mix to the cupcake papers and then into the Cupcake cup, this is then placed into the microwave dish and then into the microwave for 30 seconds, (in my experience it took a few seconds longer). Now for the icing mix, this is done in the same way apart from when the water is added you need to use the smaller end of the spoon with hot water, once the mixture is ready you place it into the icing chamber, this part is quite messy, anyway the icing chamber is then attached to the icer and by pushing on a handle the icing comes out, again this is extremely messy and the icing doesn't necessarily end up only on your bun! Now you just need to add sprinkles and ENJOY!! Other info This product is suitable for children 8 years and over and it requires adult supervision. Also refills are available in Argos for around £9, although they could be cheaper elsewhere. My opinion Well I was disappointed to say the least! I found the whole experience to be quite time consuming and the buns were too sweet. My daughter has used this twice in the time she has had it and was also very disappointed. This product in my opinion is not worth the money and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! Thanks for reading This review will appear on other sites under the same name.
I decided to buy my kids a nintendo wii between them last year (2008) for Christmas, they have been after the wii for ages and were over the moon to wake up on Christmas morning to find one waiting for them. When we purchased the wii, the game wii sports was included in the package, I didn`t think they would be particularily interested in this game but I was proven so wrong. I wont bore you with to many details ! the game comes in a cardboard cd cover and it is aged for 7 years and over, also the game is suitable for 4 players. Playing the game Each person will have their own character, which would have been created when setting up the Nintendo wii, the characters are quite small and are like cartoon characters, anyway you choose your character and then choose which sport you would like to play, the choices are Tennis, Baseball, Boxing, Bowling or Golf. All the games are very realistic as you have to move as if you were really playing the sport. All the sports are fun to play and so far the kids have really enjoyed playing the game, each one has their own favourite sport that they like to play The games are all pretty easy to play, I personally like the tennis and I also like the idea of being active while playing the games, as it makes the whole experience much more fun for the whole family, not like the playstation or the x box. we can all join in and have fun together. Another thing which I like about the wii sports is that there is a fitness test, this can only be completed once each day, and is more for the adults, each time you complete the test you will get results, which is your wii age. Completing the test You must complete three sections which can be any type of sport, however I have only been give Tennis, Baseball and bowling so far, and my wii age was 72, then it dropped to 63 and it has risen to 80 so I have some work to do, It has been fun competing with my husband to see who can get the best age score, so far he`s winning with an age of 53. Also you are sent a message with the results of your fitness test, which is good as you can see your age going down each time you complete the test, (or in my case you can see your results increase) You can also do training which is handy to practice for the fitness test, again you get different sports to train at and at the end you get your results, if you have done well enough you will get a medal . Conclusion This is a game I probably would not have bought as I didn`t think the kids would have been interested in it, but I`m glad it was part of the package as we have all really enjoyed playing it. So I would recommend it. Thanks for reading This review has been posted on other sites
My kids only got the Nintendo Wii there at Christmas 2008, we got them a few games but after a while they were getting bored with the same games over and over, so they saved up their pocket money and decided to buy themselves a game. At first they couldn't decide which game to choose, they all have different game categories that they would prefer, the boys like games like wrestling and racing games, while my daughter likes High School Musical and Hannah Montana, so trying to get them to agree on a game that they all liked was a total nightmare. After quite a bit of time had passed we eventually came across SSX Blur, at last they all agreed on this game, they already had it for the Play station 2 and they really enjoyed playing it. So for £19.99 we bought the SSX Blur from Game, as we sat on the bus they got more and more excited they couldn't wait to get home and play the game. Loading the game Once the game has loaded on screen control instructions will appear, then you will come to the profile screen, here you can set up several different profiles, just by clicking on New Profile, then add your chosen profile name and save it. The next screen is split into 6 colored sections, giving six different choices, tutorials, multiplayer, career, quick play, options and extras Options to choose from By clicking on Extras you can view certain rewards that you have unlocked, the options sections allows you to check your music volume, see the controls or view your profiles. Once tutorial has been clicked this will open another split screen allowing you to choose which trick you wish to learn, you can choose from, snowballs, ubertricks, jumps, rails, spins, flips and groove system. You can practice each one as many times as you like. Multiplayer Multiplayer allows you and another player to play using a split screen, or you can choose the hot screen option and you can have up to 4 players playing the game. Career Once you click on the career option this will bring you to the characters which are available to use, the characters are like cartoon characters and there is four for you to choose from, the rest are locked and can be unlocked as you go through the different levels, once you have chose your character you can then choose whether they use a snowboard or skis, then your onto the mountain which you have to pick up collectables on the way down, after this you will do a race and depending how well you do you could unlock more stuff. Quick play Quick play allows you to play in certain events such as slope style, half pipe, slalom, race, big air event, free ride, and challenges once you have beaten your opponents your name will appear at the top of the leader board giving you the right to brag. Events Slope style Each event is totally different, in the slope style event is basically a free ride you are judged on the tricks you pull off, so you need to gather up as many points as you can to reach first place. Half pipe The half pipe event allows you to do tricks in the air and on the ground, but just watch the clock as if your time runs out your doomed. Slalmon In the slalom event you must do a bit of carving which is basically maneuvering through flags, it sounds quite easy but each time you miss a flag time is added on, if you manage not to miss any flags then you will end up with a gold medal. Race In the racing event you will be racing against others, you can attack your opponents by throwing snowballs at them or knocking them down, however if you knock one of your opponents down they will get revenge and come after you. Big Air The big air event is basically about doing as many tricks as you possibly can, adding points as you're going along. Free ride Here you can just take your time and explore the mountain, on the way down you can collect some goodies which will include Ubercollectables, once you have collected enough of these a ubertrick will be unlocked, other things that you could collect are 1 verses 1 challenges, this will allow you to go up against another SSX character and test your skills. Challenges Altogether there are 32 different challenges which are scattered all over the mountain, these can be found while you are free riding in the mountain. You can compete against others to win things like boards or skis this will help to improve your characters stats. Unlockables In career mode there are many unlockables for you to unlock such as tracks, characters, and outfits, once these have been unlocked they will also become available in the quick play option. They can be unlocked each time you do well in the career mode events. Other information about the game The game is a game from EA sports and as I have said it is a snowboarding game which is suitable for three years and above, you will need the Wii remote and the nunchuk controllers for playing this game. This game is available from most video game shops although the price may differ depending on where you go. My opinion Both myself and my kids really enjoy playing this game, we have had hours of fun racing down the mountain, however there are a few bad points to the game which are the controls are very hard to get used to and the ubertricks are extremely hard to pull off, they do need lots and lots of practice, but apart from these two small things everything else about the game is great, the graphics are excellent and the game is well worth the £20.00. Conclusion All and all we are all pleased with this game, I would give it an 8/10 rating, the reason I didn't rate higher is because it is supposed to be aged three years and over but it is quite difficult for the younger gamers. Great game highly recommended!!! Thanks for reading Also posted on other review sites under the same name
For the first time in the winter months I started to notice dry patches of skin on my hands and face, I didn't really think much of it but through time the dry patches became itchy both on my face and hands, so I decided I should start using a moisturizer but I wasn't sure which one to use, so I decided on E-45 cream as I was intending on using it on my three young children so I would need something that wasn't perfumed. Where to buy E-45 and other information I live quite near to a Tesco Express, so I checked their medical section to see if I could find any E-45, after a few seconds of checking the shelves I found what I was looking for, A small tub (125g) cost around £2.58, however it could be cheaper else where, E-45 is available from most supermarkets and chemists and usually comes in a white packaging. The tub is white with a screw on lid and all necessary information can be found on the back of the label including the sell-by-date, the sell-by-date is quite long lasting, on the tub that I bought is the year 2011 so you would get good use out of it. Information on the label According to the label E-45 cream is dermatologically tested and is suitable for dry, itchy flaky skin and also for more serious skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis and in some cases psoriasis, if you are allergic to any of the ingredients then do not use the cream. The cream is also suitable for the use of the whole family including babies. Using the cream Upon opening the cream, needless to say it is white and has no smell to it, you should use the cream two or three times per day, (however I only use it once a day) when applying the cream you only need a small drop as it will spread quite easy, it doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy at all, once the E-45 has been applied you wouldn't even know that you had cream on. Does it work? Yes it does, within about a week of using the cream the dry patches had completely gone, I still continued to use the cream throughout the winter months and I didn't have anymore problems with dry skin, my skin is just left feeling soft. Bad points The only bad point I could find with using this cream is that if you have quite severe patches of dry skin then it can be quite stingy when the cream is first applied, although the stinging sensation does not last for to long. Other details E-45 cream is also available in tubs of 50g, 350g, and 500g, although the 125g should last for quite a while I have been using the same tub for the past three months and there is still plenty left. E-45 has quite an extensive range of other skin products which again are available from all chemists, although some of the prices are quite expensive. Conclusion The cream is great it not only does it relieve dry skin, it totally cures it and leaves the skin feeling soft. Highly recommended!! I started smoking at about 11 or 12 years old, the worst mistake I ever made, as we all know over the years cigarettes have increased dramatically in price, so being a smoker of about forty cigarettes a day, the smoking was getting to be a really expensive habit, so expensive that I was spending approximately £10 per day, so therefore £70 a week, (ridiculous I know) I have lost count of the failed attempts to quit smoking altogether, so I decided to start rolling my own cigarettes to save a few pennies. Brief description I really don't know why I chose Amber Leaf, as I would be more familiar with Golden Virginia Tobacco as family members smoke it and I have smoked Golden Virginia tobacco in the past, but anyway..... The Amber Leaf comes in a yellow colored pouch, it is available in 12.5g, 25g or 50g pouches and on the front of the pouch there is a picture of leaves with Amber Leaf wrote above it and below the picture it says "Finest Virginia hand rolling tobacco." Prices are as follows; 12.5g costs £2.61 25g costs £5.00 50g costs £9.91 The Amber Leaf pouch has a seal on it which is easy to break by gently pulling it open, the only thing is once the seal is broken it will not reseal and therefore the tobacco can dry up slightly if it is not stored somewhere cool. Once the pouch is opened there is a slight smell from the tobacco, although it is not to strong, the tobacco can easily be pulled apart for rolling purposes, however rolling your own cigarettes can take a bit of getting used to. Conclusion In my opinion Amber Leaf is slightly stronger than Golden Virginia, easier to roll and it seems to last me longer for some reason (maybe that's my imagination), also it is slightly cheaper which has to be a bonus. In the future I hope to quit smoking but until then I will continue to smoke Amber Leaf PLEASE NOTE; I am not saying it is a good idea to start smoking because IT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!, but for anyone who already smokes, Amber Leaf provides a decent smoke and costs less than normal cigarettes. I first came across this bleach in Pound Stretcher, it was quite cheap, (sorry not sure of the exact price) so I decided to buy the citrus fragrance as my intention was to use it to clean up the back garden as we have a dog. Brief description Easy bleach is available in four different fragrances which are Lavendar, Citrus, Original and Lime zest, and they come in either a 825ml or 2 litre bottle. The 750ml bottles are plastic and have an angled neck with "Easy" wrote across the bottle in blue writing. According to the packaging Easy bleach is effective on all germs and viruses. Is the bleach thick? When I first used the bleach I was pleasantly surprised at how thick it was when poured out, it was just as thick as any brand named bleach. The smell There is a pleasant smell from the bleach, however you can only smell a hint of the citrus, but nonetheless still a pleasant odour and just as strong as brand named bleaches. First use My first use was out in the back garden, to eliminate any bad odours due to the dog, once the back was cleaned all odours were gone. I decided to use the bleach about the house and again I was pleasantly surprised, it was good at removing stains and left a nice clean fresh odour around the house. Would I buy this bleach again? Up until the point when I bought Easy bleach, I would`nt use any other bleach apart from the brand names but now I will buy Easy bleach for both the garden and the house as it is just as good. so yes I will be buying this bleach again. Highly recommended!!! Thanks for reading
The smoking ban first starrted in Northern Ireland in April 2007, being a smoker I absolutely dreaded the ban, I used to say that when the ban came into place, I would`nt bother going to restaurants or night clubs. So anyway April 2007 arrived and we were not able to smoke in public places any longer. I met my cousin in town that week for our usual shopping spree and of course this included having lunch in town. It was`nt as bad as I thought after all, we had our lunch and popped outside the restaurant for our smoke with a cup of tea and it was actually quite nice. (not so nice in the cold weather) We also went to a night club not long after the ban and again it was`nt as bad as I had first thought, there was an area for smokers to sit and have there smoke and we could also here the music. Although I am a smoker I do understand that it is not fair for a non smoker to have to breath in my smoke, it`s my choice to smoke, so they should`nt have to breath it in. I have to say that I dreaded the smoking ban but to be honest it has not really affected me at all, (although sometimes I cant help but feel a bit hard done by when it`s cold and we are shivering outside having a smoke, lol) Thanks for reading
As some of you will know, I have three children aged 7,8 and 10 years and trying to get them to brush their teeth properly can sometimes be a total nightmare. It feels like I am constantly moaning at them to brush their teeth and it`s just not doing any good, so I decided to buy Boots disclosing tablets. What are disclosing Tablets? They are a small blue tablet containg patent blue V and also Glucose, they reveal plaque on the teeth and help to encourage a good brushing technique. Where can they be purchased? I bought them from Boots from £1.69, they come in a small blue and silver box with 12 tablets sealed in a foil package. The tablets are suitable for 6 years and over. How to use these tablets Using the tablets is easy, simply brush your teeth and then put one tablet in to your mouth for a few minutes, DO NOT swallow, spit out and rinse your mouth with water and check your teeth. If some of your teeth turn blue, then there is plague on these teeth you should re - brush your teeth until the blue stains have gone. First use My kids thought it was great at first, but when their teeth turned blue they were not impressed at having to brush them again (pure laziness), so I have now said that every so often I am going to check their teeth, using these tablets to see how much they have improved. Did their teeth improve? So a few days later I got the tablets out again, off they went to brush their teeth, took the tablet and some teeth did turn blue, but there was a big improvement. Conclusion I intend to do this a few times a week to keep an eye on their teeth, although they are not happy with this idea it means I am not always moaning and their teeth are getting brushed properly, Highly recommended!!! The Blackpool Tower is one of the main tourist attractions in Blackpool, situated on the promenade. The Tower was built in 1894 and in height it stands at 158m (518ft) tall, The Blackpool Tower can be seen from other places such as Morecambe Bay and in September the Tower is illuminated which is a beautiful sight. I have visited Blackpool on several occasions and each time I have made a point to go to the Tower, there are a number of activities in the Tower which are suitable for all ages. Over the years Blackpool Tower has changed in many ways and it is as enjoyable now as it was when I first visited Blackpool. The Tower Ballroom - The Tower Ballroom has been in the Tower from 1897, the ballroom is absolutely amazing and has held shows such as Strictly Come Dancing among others, there are also shows held in the Ballroom on certain nights of the week, visitors can enjoy the music from the organ or watch the dancing and they can even join in and have a dance. The ballroom is amazing, however we didn't spend a lot of time in here as the kids got bored quite quickly, but it was beautiful none the less. The circus - The circus is shown at certain intervals throughout the day and is produced by a Hungarian, the main star is a clown called Mooky and there are loads of fantastic performances that will have visitors at the edge of their seat, one of the most amazing things about the circus is that the circus ring is lowered into a pool of water for the end performance which is fantastic. The circus was fantastic, we all really enjoyed it. The kids said it was the best circus they had ever been to. The Aquarium - This is the oldest part of the building, the Aquarium remained open while the Tower was built up around it, The Aquarium is home to 57 different types of water and salt water fish. Walking round the Aquarium was enjoyable although the kids rushed round everything and we were done within about 15 minutes. Still enjoyable!! Jungle Jims - Jungle Jims is a large play area for kids, there are slides, pits filed with coloured balls and climbing ropes as well as other fun stuff, kids will have hours of fun playing here and parents can sit in the family bar and enjoy entertainment such as music and competitions, the bar is only a short distance from Jungle Jims. The kids really enjoyed Jungle Jims while we enjoyed listening to the music with a cool glass of juice, we never seen them for hours. The Tower Top - Visitors can take a lift to the top of the tower, once at the top you can look through a window on the floor and look down to street level, then you can walk across the glass window which is known as the "walk of faith" there is a small gift shop were you can purchase post cards and have them posted from the top of the Tower, then there is another three levels before you reach the highest point of the tower although you have to climb the stairs as the lift does not take you to this point, once you arrive at the very top the views are amazing and on a clear day you can see as far as the Isle of Man, North Wales and the Lake District. We all enjoyed being at the top of the Tower. Other Activities - The Tower Heritage trail which is about the history of the Tower, then there was the Jurassic Walk which was all about dinosaurs. We didn't do these activities as it was late by the time we had done all the other activities. Other Information Everything mentioned here is included in the entrance fee and allows you to spend all day in the Tower and the Tower remains open all year round. The prices are: Adult £13.95 Senior £9.95 Child (under 16) £10.95 Family saver 1 £33.00 1 Adult and 2 kids Family saver 2 £36.00 2 adults and 1 child Family saver 3 £46.00 2 adults and 2 kids Family saver 4 £55.00 2 adults and 3 kids Conclusion We really enjoyed our visit to the Tower and would recommend it anyone who is planning on going to Blackpool. The prices do seem to be expensive but there is a lot to do in the Tower and it is worth every penny. Thanks for reading
The Carphone Warehouse is one of the UK `s leading mobile phone providers , they can be found in most high streets all over the country. They provide mobile phones, mobile accessories, I-pods, I-phones and they offer certain broadband package deals. Internet - Carphone Warehouse We have not had much dealings with the Carphone Warehouse in the past, but after hearing from a friend that they provide internet package deals, we decided to visit the Carphone Warehouse to see what they had on offer. On arrival to the shop, we were greeted by, what seemed to be friendly and helpful staff, after telling them that we wanted an internet connection without a phone line, they recommended we use the T-Mobile Web`n`Walk. What is the Web`n`Walk? The Web`n`Walk is a small device which connects to your PC or laptop and allows you to have an internet connection, Product information The sales assistant done a credit check on my husband , this took around 20 minutes, the check came back successful so she then took bank details from us and informed us that the cost of the Web`n`Walk would be £15 per month and payments would be taken directly from our bank account, we were happy enough with this and left the Carphone Warehouse with the Web`n`Walk device. Trying to connect to the internet We arrived home and hubby connected the Web`n`Walk to our PC, however after about twenty minutes of fiddling about he still could not get a connection to the internet, so he phoned T-Mobile and after another twenty minutes on the phone he was informed that there was a fault with the device. He took it back to the Carphone Warehouse and they were happy to swap it for a different one, he finally got home and connected the new one, this time it worked, but it was running very slow, we thought it was something to do with our computer and continued to use it. Problems After a while the Web`n `Walk started to disconnect itself every so often, then it became more regular so hubby phoned T-Mobile and they done a street check and then informed him that we were lucky to get any signal at all due to the area where we live there is not a good signal from T-Mobile. They asked him if the Carphone Warehouse had done this check for us , when hubby said no , they advised him to go back to the Carphone Warehouse and tell them to set us up with another provider and they would be happy to cancel the contract. Returning the device We explained to the Carphone Warehouse that when we signed the contract , no one had done a street check to see if we would get a signal or not, as we were not aware that they could do this, we also explained that the device was disconnecting itself on a regular basis and that we had been informed by T-Mobile that we were well within our rights to cancel the contract and swap to a new internet provider. Once the shop assistant heard this his whole attitude changed from being friendly and helpful to being really rude, we could tell by looking at him that we were not going to get anywhere, he said "that there is nothing that they can do" we replied "well if your staff had done their job right in the first place then there would be no problem" huffing and puffing he then proceeded to do a credit check for another provider , but he was that rude we just got our stuff together and walked out of the shop. Conclusion I will keep my contract for the two years , but after that I will be looking for a new internet provider and needless to say I wont be going to the Carphone Warehouse. The T-Mobile device would be great if you live in an area where you are getting a signal, I cannot fault the product in anyway, it is just the staff at the Carphone Warehouse. Thanks for reading
A few weeks back I noticed that both my sons had developed warts, on their finger, I already had a doctors appointment arranged for another matter, so I mentioned them to the doctor, he said that it was probably to do with them lifting stuff of the ground and did not offer any sort of treatment. After reading reviews both on Dooyoo and Ciao about wart treatments, I decided to take matters into my own hands and went and bought Wartner from the chemist, the cost was around £4.00. The product is used for the treatment of warts and verrucas, the packaging it came in was a long thin cardboard box. What is inside the packaging? The contents are: An aerosol dispenser - containing Dimethyl ether and Propane. 10 foam applications - for 10 treatments Plastic key - to apply foam applicators Instruction leaflet PLEASE NOTE: Neither Dimethyl ether nor Propane are harmful to the environment, also it is not suitable to use on your face. How does Wartner work? Basically Wartner freezes the wart or verruca, by freezing the warts/verrucas this will cause a blister to form under the skin and within ten days the wart should gradually fall off or just disappear. It is advised that you are 100% sure that what you are treating is actually a wart or verruca, if you are not sure then it would be wise to visit your GP first. Applying Wartner to infected area Using Wartner was really easy and the treatment only took a few minutes, the instruction leaflet provided gives easy step by step instructions. For a stubborn wart the treatment can be done again after two weeks, however if the same wart has to be treated three times then it is advised that you should speak to your GP. First treatment Once the sponge applicator touched the skin, (expect a stinging sensation) the warts changed from their usual colour to white, this is when you remove the applicator, after a short period of time the colour will go back to normal and the stinging will disappear, The kids were not impressed with the stinging at first but they were glad to (hopefully) get rid of their warts. Does it actually work? YES !! It does work after the first treatment which was two weeks ago the warts seem to be a lot smaller than they were, they have very nearly disappeared, however they both needed another treatment with Wartner which they got tonight and still they were not impressed with the stinging but they can see the difference that Wartner has made, so hopefully within the next two weeks they will no longer have warts. Highly recommended !!! Thanks for reading !!
