Kevin Murphy is an Australian Hairdresser who is very big on session styling. He creates looks for photos, celebrities and red carpet events. To do this he needed a good range of product which are versatile and can be combined and mixed to create different looks, because he is a session stylist he wanted the range to be small and selective. Unable to find what he wanted in products he decided to create his own. They are amazing!
Anti gravity an "oil free volumiser".Costing around £15, this product comes in a small 150ml yellowish square bottle.. the reason behind the bottle being square is to use less packaging, which is nice. the products are also parraben and suphate free! The bottle is engraved with a "k" with the name of the product, what is does and then the same written in french. This is very similar to his other products such as hair resort.
The product is best applied to wet hair, on the root area. Massage the product into the roots and then begin to dry. i would recommend using about a £2 coin piece size as an average. when drying the hair try using a round brush to create volume at the roots or alliteratively you can dry your hair upside-down. Be careful when drying your hair to feel if you have over applied the product in some areas as it may feel sticky, similar to when you apply to much hair spray but don't worry, you can brush it out, and it wont sacrifice the effect of the product. If you were going for extreme volume you could re-apply to dry hair and blow dry in again to create more and more volume!
The product itself is thick and nearly see through, when you open the bottle you are instantly hit with the smell of lavender, this is because lavender helps to soak up the natural oils in the scalp which is why people often ask why it causes their hair to not get greasy as quickly. All of K.M products are made from renewable sources and are full of natural native Australian plan extracts. As well as containing lavender the anti gravity contains honey which helps to lock in and seal moisture so the hair is more flexible!
amazing blow drying product and i would recommend anyone that trys it to also try the other kevin murphy products!
I have 4 american apparel hoodies and i honestly don't know what i would do without them! When i got my first one it cost me around £37, the prices have gone up due to VAT so they are now £40 as far as i know. They are the cult hoody, every other person has one!
My first one was the slate grey which i have now had for about a year and a half. Apart from some bobbling it is still in great condition and i do wear it daily! The only issue i have is that the hoody did use to be alot thicker. That is to be expected with its age tho.
My hoody is a size small and is very baggy, i am a girl so it is a boys size small. There are smaller sizes such as XS and XXS but i wanted it to be baggy :) Alot of people have asked me where it is from as so many people are wearing them these days but i think its because they are so reliable and come in such a variety of colours and match anything!
The hoody is 50% polyester which makes it really soft and comfortable to wear and great in the tumble dryer! The hoddy is really easy to wash on 30 degrees but i would recommend trying the white string as it has come out many of times in the wash which is abit time consuming!
i was brought this nail varnish for my birthday in December. My friend purchased it from superdrug for me and i have had a look at the price and it is £3.99! so a nice treat. I have got other barry M nail varnishes and i love looking out for new shades that come out.
The nail varnish come in the same shape and size as all the others. But it does have a crackled lip so if you have the plain black nail varnish all-ready you are able to tell them apart! It contains 10ml of product which is fair as most of them do. The bottle came with instructions which was helpful if you are not too sure on what you are doing. It also only comes in the shade of black.
Okay, so thats the basics. When i first tried the product i didn't have any base varnish on as i was in a rush and only wanted to test it on one nail. This was awful as it was all patchy, which is due to the fat that it must react with the base colour to create the crackled effect. The next time i tried it i had glittery purple/pink nail varnish on as my base. The product was easy to apply the brush was sturdy and a nice size and the varnish was not really gloppy like some, making it alot easier to apply! I through it looked quite spaces with the glitter underneath. I looked great!
The product did chip quite easily so i used a beige base the next time i used it and it worked great again! this time it almost looked leopard print and i did get quite a few compliments. I applied a clear varnish on top due to the chiping so i would highly recomend the clear extra layer!
The product is great simple and easy to use with fast results! i looked profesion for a fraction of the money and when my product runs out i will definatly replace it :)
Tumblr is a very easy website to use to blog images, text, quotes, music ect that you like and want to share.
Www.tumblr.com is the website where you can make an account. i have been using it for over a year.
Once you have logged in you will have your own url. Mine is www.tumblr.com/jess-x. i am able to give this to anyone and if they have an account they are able to "follow me" which means all the things i post will appear on their tumblr homepage (dashboard). When you are following a few people you can click the heart next to the image which enables you to "like" the image. You can access all these images later on. You are also able to "reblog". This is where you repost the image or text ect that they have posted. this gives the person who posted it credit. someone can reblog the image the image from you which makes the chain, and is how you can gain followers.
There is an option of asking people questions anonymously which often leads to people sending nasty things to each other, rather than questions. You can turn this option off if people are sending you abuse tho. i don't personly like this option as i thing it can lead to bulling.
I think the website is a great, simple way to blog and would recommend it to lots of people as a way of recording what you have been up to and sharing images with people
when i got this mascara i wasn't expecting miracles but i was expecting a lot more than i got. i brought it for £4 as it was on offer. The purple bottle was chunky and i use a few different mascaras at the same time which made me find this bottle awkward and hard to hold. The brush is a nice curved shape which hugs the shape of the eye lashes and looks like it should create a nice separated look. The bottle is not too shiny which is great because it doesn't slip out of your hand.
When i opened the mascara the first thing i noticed was that it had already seemed to dry out, which i was not happy about as i had only just undone the seal. when i applied the mascara from root to tip of my eyelashes it was very uneven. i then applied a few more coats which made it worse and worse. my eyelashes were very clumpy and stuck together.NOT the false eyelash look that i had been promised. because it was waterproof when i tried to remove it, it stung my eyes and i lost some eyelashes due to the harshness of the product.
i threw it straight in the bin and wouldn't recommend it to anyone!
One good thing about the mascara is the colours of the bottles and that it is chunky so that i guess it would be easy to find in your make-up bag.
My mum got me these slippers from peacocks after i had complained that my primark ones (similar to these) had fallen apart! I love this type of slipper as you dont find your feet trying to grab on to them to stop them falling off due to some slippers having open backs.
The slippers are a nice fluffy material that feels like complete luxury for there tiny price tag ( £4-£5 my mum said). The are elasticated so that they stay on your feet perfectly and are really easy to walk in. They have a slightly padded sole so they are comfy to walk in, as some similar ones to these had no real sole making them no where near as comfy! These particular slippers where a very pale milky pink with a cute star design.
Mine are a size 7/8 and even though i am only a 7 they are a perfect fit. This might be an issue for someone with slightly bigger feet as i do not think they would fit! I have put these in the wash a few times and they are still in really good condition.
A good slipper for those who like this style!
A lot of my friends are interested in photography, so I have had a lot of time playing and learning about this camera. I have found that the camera retails for about £550. The camera is a basic SLR that a beginer such as me will able to use. I am not writing this review very technically as some people who are not technical may still wish to use SLR's.
The camera has different settings so that you are able to manually change the focus or have it automatic so that it focuses for you. The automatic is an easier setting but manual is great if the camera is focusing on something up close and you wish to change is do focusing on something in the distance. There are many settings on the camera such as ISO and white balance which are simple enough to change and use, and the manual is perfect reading to help you understand the camera.
The camera has macro settings which are there at the press of a button and great when getting up close and detailed pictures. it also had a night mode which has a slow shutter setting which is great for catching movement of light and can create great images!
The battery life of this camera is amazing and can last weeks depending on how much it is used eached day, perfect camera for beginners!
i brought there tights for £3.99 last month from new look. Ive had many many many pairs of patterned tights from places such as ASOS, TOPSHOP, NEWLOOK, PRIMARK even TKMAX! i find that they sometimes rip quite easily so i do budget myself on the amount of money that i spend on each one. i wore these tights with a pair of wolly socks and my boots. i thought that by wearing socks i wouldn't rip them on the heel, but they ripped straight away, and when i tryed to pull them up i felt them snag, like they wouldn't stretch to my height (5ft 7/8) which i do find ridiculous when i got med/large. i found that the material was far too thin, and they had a rough texture to them. i wouldnt purchase them again, as i have found a very similar pair for half the price which have yet to rip! (primark!!)
Before i started to use Clinique i decided to try out this brand first. I brought a 125ml bottle for around £3. I was excited to try it out. The bottle promised me that they "were experts in sensitive skin" and there was "no colour, no perfume". I have sensitive skin and find some moisturisers give me a burning sensation so i really thought i would have been fine with this one.
The bottle has a screw off lid and the cream seems to pour out pretty fast which meant that i wasted product every time.
The creams quite water, white and has a chemical smell too it. when i applied the cream i found that it sat on my skin and made me have a shiny face. This didn't help atall when i applied make-up as i found it caused a barrier between my make-up and my skin. This gave my skin an awful texture and make my face look like waxy.
i also found that it did burn my skin on several occasions
I decided to go for this Clinique moisturiser as the cheaper brands such as "simple" has started to irritate my face, and often cause rashes and red patches.
My first impressions of this moisturiser was that it came in a nice sized bottle with a pump so you were able to pump your desired sized amount of moisturiser without wasting the product. The pump is also well made so i wont be having to twist it off when it breaks! the packaging is modern, similar to the other clinque products i have wth its two colour combination. A nice addition to my dressing table collection.
The cream has nice consistency, its not watery like a lotion or really thick which makes it really easy to apply!i would say it is similar to a body lotion thickness. it is therefore surprising how moisturizing the cream is due to its light consistency. The cream is a pale yellow, and totality scent free, great for my sensitive skin! i use the cream day and night and have found that my skin has never been better! i tend to layer the cream thicker onto my nose where it is dry and let it soak in while i am gettong ready before i do my make up, i find this helps if my skin is more dry. It also means that i dont have to buy another stronger cream for my drier areas. Its really simple and easy to apply, you just pump your desired amount and apply it to your face and neck. Its a really good product is hypo-allergenic and will not cause anyone with dry skin issues the burning sensation that other "sensitive" moisturisers do!
I have used Rimmel liquid eye-liner for years! I have tried other brands but nothing compares!
I am going to explain why i think this eyeliner is so great.
It comes in a matt black which is to my preference as im not into shiney eyeliners. The bottles in small long and discreet making it easy to fit into your purse. The nip is slender making the product relativity easy to apply, even for beginners. The line isn't really think so people of all taste can use it making the lines wider if needed. The product isn't gloopy, again making it easy to apply. I have sensitive skin and only on rare occasions has it stung me.
The product is long lasting and doesn't smudge or crack throughout the day like other cheaper brands. It is also quite easily to re-apply if you want to patch up the eyeliner in the day if it has slightly worn off.
I have found the product is easy to remove so that don't have to rub for ages causing stingey eyes. I use a boots sensitive make-up remover which seems to remove really easily. On the odd occasions that i have been out an havnt had my remover with me water seems to do the trick!
Superdrug had a 3 for 2 offer on make-up and i was on a budget so I decided to go for this brand. My friend has their foundation and swears by it!
This product price wise is under £2 making it a real barging! I use it everyday and it has lasted me over a month and I would not say it is going to run out soon. This is great as I don't enjoy make-up shopping, making it again a real good barging as its cheap but still last a very long time.
I have found that the product has smashed inside its casing which I wouldn't blame on the product but the fact that i keep it in my bag and I do tend to throw my bag around a bit! If anything I have found it a lot easier to apply!
I choose the palest colour as I wear bronzer all over my face so i use it as a base! I thought the other shades looked a bit too orange!
The product doesn't make the face looked caked in make-up either :)
I have this skirt in black from Topshop and absolutely love it! because it is ruched means that it stays nice and tight all day! I am able to wear it with just about anything in my wardrobe which makes it the perfect staple item of clothing which I will more than likely wear throughout spring too! I wear the skirt on night out with different styles of tops tucked into it, its the perfect length to flatter my hips! :) If I am going for a more casual look i wear it with a band top and let the top hang over it (perfect for holding in your tummy under your top)!!
I have also found that the skirt washes really well, great considering i have had issues with the quality of Topshop clothes these day! I have managed to tumble dry the skirt after i wash it to keep it tight when i wear it. i have found that this has not damaged the elastic at all!
Primark is a cheap way to spice up your wardrobe. I think it is great if you are looking for a quick fix on the latest trend or need a quick emergency outfit. The clothes do fall apart after a couple of washes but that is what is to be expected when spending a low amount of money.
My favourite thing about Primark is the underwear. They have a big range of cheep knickers that last a long time. They have a large selection of bras for only £6 that target people that are worried about their cleavage and offer solutions such as "double air pads" which are great for nights out! The downfall of Primark is their customer service. Due to the size of the shop there isn't much help in trying to find a specific thing you are looking for and I find a lot of the members of staff do not understand me when I approach them. All in all a great shop if you are looking for a quick fix that you are only going to wear a few times!
I have the earrings, the purse, the bracelets the lot! I love Vivienne Westwood and this is no exception. I was given this perfume by my friend for Christmas and I am over the moon with it. If you are a girl that likes Armani code, flora by Gucci, daisy by marc Jacobs then this city chic perfume is the one for you! I found the other perfumes were for older women and were abit too strong and musky but this is playful fun and suitable as an everyday perfume as well as for special occasions! I love the bracelet that it comes with as it goes great with my collection of jewellery. The bracelet does not look cheap so you could even pass it off as a genuine! The only down side is that the bracelet does say "perfume" but that is hardly anything to complain about! This would be a great gift for a young girl who loves floriental perfume!
