      Quality toilet rolls from Andrex

Toilet paper is one of the household necessities of modern life. Throughout the years, I've used both cheap and expensive versions of toilet papers and, from my experience, this is one of the products where quality tends to reflect the price of the product.

Andrex is one of the manufacturers of quality toilet tissues. They produce a range of luxury toilet tissues and they can be purchased from all the chain supermarkets and some corner shops. The toilet rolls are packaged in 4, 6, 9 and 12 roll packs generally. This Andrex gorgeous comfort quilts is one of their quality toilet rolls range, and this is one of the most frequently used toilet rolls in my house.

I usually buy this Andrex quilted toilet rolls in either a pack of 9 or 12. A pack of 9 rolls is priced at around £4.50 but I always wait for them to be put on offer for £4.00 or '2 for £7.50'. On the packaging, it says each roll has an average of 160 sheets and each sheet is 2 ply. Even though it's 2 ply, its as strong as some toilet paper advertised as 4ply I've used before. Perforations between sheets are done properly so it's easy to tear the papers away as well.

On average, each roll lasts about a week for a family of three. Technically, it might seems a waste to buy an expensive toiler paper but cheap ones would just run out quicker due to their low quality, and personally comfort is a big factor when it comes to it.

Overall, out of all the Andrex quality toilet papers range, Quilted ones have been my choice for a long time. My advice is to wait till they're on offer and stock up. Asda is usually pretty good for offers on Andrex.

Nice work out tee from adidas

Even though it's not one of my new year's solutions to be exercising frequently, it's always a good idea to keep fit. These days I have a high work load so I don't have that much time to go to the gym. However, as a result, I tend to do exercises that I can do at home. I do cardio and muscle strengthening activities and just recently, I've taken a new step into the world of yoga. Even though I don't go the gym, I tend to sweat a lot and after awhile I start to feel a bit uncomfortable to continue working out in sweaty clothes. Therefore, I decided to get proper exercise clothing rather than using old tees and shorts.

To be honest, I'm not really fuss about the brand of sports clothing I buy. When I was browsing for good sports clothing, these Adidas response running women t-shirt were on sale for around £10 (they were originally over £20 I believe, since they were advertised as better than half price). So, I decided to try this out. £10-ish for a sports t-shirt seems pretty reasonable.

These response short sleeve t-shirts come in a choice of colours from turquoise, white and pink. Sizes are available from 8 to 16 I believe, larger sizes may be available but I didn't see them when I purchased mine. The sale pitch of these t-shirts is that they are manufactured using the CLIMACOOL technology, which helps to balance the heat produced during work out and makes the experience more comformtable. They're made with 100% polyester, which I personally prefer when it comes to work out clothing since it doesn't become saturated with sweat during rigorous exercises. Also, the thickness of the material is perfect for indoor work outs, although I think it might be a bit thin for outdoor activities.

Technically, as the name suggests these are made for running. However, due to the cold weather, I haven't been out running for a while now. Nevertheless, this t-shirt is great for indoor work outs. The material is good at diffusing the heat and keeping the body temperature balanced between work outs so that I don't get a cold spell during intervals. They're easy to wash, which is always a plus.

Overall, these t-shirts serve their purposes at a good price. What more can you ask for?

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

It does what it's supposed to with minimal fuss at a low cost

Money doesn't equate quality. My experience with this comes from using Bic single blade sensitive skin razors. As a woman, I don't really need to shave extensively or that frequently. However, I still do have to groom myself occasionally for personal hygiene. I was recommended that I should purchase an electric razor that, despite the cost, would make this harrowing process easy.

Unfortunately, my Braun electric razor doesn't really perform for its price's worth. Everytime I tried to shave, it snags on a tiny piece of my skin and I'm always left with prickly pain after shower.

So, I thought it wouldn't do me any harm to try the cheap razors. I found these Bic disposable razors in the family bathroom and I decided to give it a go. To my surprise, it's the easiest I have ever shaved and it didn't leave me mentally swearing at a piece of electrical equipment.

These Bic razors are made for sensitive skin as the name suggests. They usually come in a pack of 10, sometimes 12 if they're doing promotions where you get extra razors for the same price. I usually buy my 10 pack from Boots or super drugs, at a cost of about £1-£1.50. Considering the quantity I get, they are extremely cheap. They're yellow in colour, and honestly they look the price. However, my experience says never judge a razor by its plastic body and weird yellow colour.

Of course, these are manual razors and it's no surprising that a few hairs are left behind when I shave using these razors. But that's true for my old electric razor as well. They're disposable but they can be reused several times before needed to be disposed of. Each razor comes with a plastic cover to prevent any accidents. I've been using these for so many years and I have yet to hurt myself.

Overall, these Bic sensitive razors are worth more than they really are.

            Disadvantages

this has saved my skin so many times, literally

Boots Calamine Lotion is the unsung hero of my medicine cabinet. I don't have any known, life-threatening allergies but sometimes I do have allergic reaction to house dust or prawns. The way my body reacts to my allergies is to produce patches of heat rashes throughout my body that wouldn't go away for like a week, even if I take allergy and hay fever tablets.

Luckily, I've always known since I was little that I can always rely on calamine lotion to sort it out. The purpose of calamine lotion is to sooth minor skin rashes and irritation, basically to stop anyone with allergies from scratching themselves and making the condition worse. Anyone who has suffered from skin allergies know that the urge to scratch even though you know it's painful but you still do it because it's unbearable; this is when calamine lotion saves my skin literally.

I've only ever bought calamine lotion from boots, since it's convenient. For what it does, it is unbelievably cheap. It's £1.09 for 200 ml bottle and since I only use it whenever I have skin rashes, which is rare thankfully, they last for a long time. It does have an expiration date but it last for a couple of years.

The lotion itself has a milky pinkish colour and it's has quite a runny consistency. The smell isn't pungent but as a medicine it wouldn't be fragrant either; strangely since it helps me to feel better, I've become to associate this weird medicinal smell as nice. It contains calamine 15% w/v and zinc oxide 5% w/v, which are active agents to sooth the rashes.

The bottle needs to be shaken thoroughly before each use since the solution tends to settle at the bottom if I haven't been using it for a while. I apply using a cotton bud to the areas affected and leave it air-cool, it'll leave a white patch of skin so if it's in the exposed area, it wouldn't look nice. However, if I have a skin rash, looking nice is really the last thing on my mind.

Also, this lotion will be useful for sunburn although I've only ever used it once on my nose.

All in all, this is without a doubt, a medicinal lotion that will always take permanent resident in my medicine cabinet.

A cool gadget that doesn't just take up space

Amazon has been my shopping ground for most of the novelty treats I buy for myself or for others as presents. Since I've saved up quite a lot in amazon vouchers from dooyoo, it's hard to resist clicking 'buy' whenever I'm browsing on amazon. To be honest, I found this USB mini fridge on amazon during Christmas time while I was shopping for presents and decided that maybe I should treat myself in the name of festive spirits.

These USB mini fridge comes in two different colours, or at least I could find on amazon: red and black. This applies only for this model on amazon by the way. I purchased the red mini fridge for £14.90 to be exact, and while it's a bit pricey for a novelty gadget, it's not all decorative and it does have its uses.

The mini fridge has a retro design and painted in vibrant red with panels of white at the top. It has tiny door handle which isn't that useful even for people with small hands like me. To open the fridge, you can easily do it by pulling the 'door'. Inside is the circuit unit upon which is the space for a 330 ml can.

The product description says that the fridge is connected by usb power to chill the can of drink of your choice to about 8.5°C (47°F) within five minutes. From my experience, it does cool my drink down but it usually takes about 5-10 minutes. I can't really say for sure how low the temperature goes for my drink since I haven't really checked it with a thermometer but it's cool enough for me to enjoy it properly.

At the moment, this mini fridge sits next to my desktop on my work desk; it does make a nice novelty decoration and is useful as a drink cooler at the same time. It's really simple to set up, it's just plug and go. Since I have a lot of usb ports that I rarely use, it's works out well for me. It also has an internal LED light, though it doesn't make a difference for since my office is always brightly lit.

Overall, it does make for a fun and yet functional product for the price I've paid. It might make a good present for anyone who enjoys such novelty products.

Good value lotion with great quality

Hand and body lotion is one of life's essentials that I can't live without. Throughout the years, I have used body and hand lotion or butter from various brands. Body butter is a lovely thing to use during the winter, but as you might have expected, they tend to be a lot more expensive, more so if it's a branded product. So, I rely heavily on body and hand lotions to keep myself moisturised during the harsh, cold winter.

I have used lotions from Dove, Body Shop, Designer lotions that came as an extra in perfume box sets and others. However, whenever I want a cheap and good quality beauty product, Boots tend to top the list.

Boots have this Essential beauty product range, which is basically their value range. The price may be cheap in value, but the quality it delivers is not cheap at all. I bought this Boots Essentials Cocoa Butter & Vitamin E Body Lotion for £1.49 for a 400ml bottle: the bottle is an almost oval shape and is made of transparent plastic.

The lotion itself has quite a soothing fragrance; it's not too strong but at the same time, the smell lingers for a while but it's not technically long-lasting. However, considering the price of this product, it is expected. The consistency of the lotion is pretty good: it's neither too greasy nor watery as you may find with a lot of the cheap lotions. It does get absorbed into the skin quite quickly and keeps the skin moisturised for a considerable amount of time.

Moreover, since my job involves washing my hands frequently, this lotion from Boots seems to belong to my work desk. It certainly is a beauty saviour, especially in terms of keep my hands smooth and soft at work throughout the whole year. I've had this for about 2 months now, and I've used up to 1/3 of the bottle's content; since I mostly use the lotion to moisturise my hands, it lasts longer than a body lotion.

Overall, this cocoa butter & vitamin E body lotion from Boots delivers more than its value and makes a good purchase.

A stylish book bag from Cath Kidston

I love reading books and everybody who knows me knows this fact. Due to this, every christmas I tend to get presents that are somehow related to my hobby of reading books. Last christmas I received this Cath Kidston book bag present from my cousin.

I have quite a lot of shoppers/ book bags but I have never owned a Cath Kidston book bag so luckily she was spot on with her present. I have been eyeing Cath Kidston products for a long time but I never got around to purchasing a bag from the range because Cath Kidston products tend to be on the expensive side.

I did some search online and I found out that this book bag costs £ 18.00, which really is a lot more expensive compared to most other shoppers. The one I received as a present has the Kentish Rose design with a pale navy blue background; the main focus of the design is the red roses in full bloom which looks very lovely. This book bag is advertised as an oil cloth book bag, which means that it is water-proof and very handy for a student like me. The design is retro yet sylish.

The dimensions of this book bag are 38 (height) x 33 (width) x 8 (depth) in cm, which is pretty spacious for my needs. I can fit everything from books to A4 files and even a small textbook for university. The handles of the bag is long enough for me to carry this bag on the shoulder, and this makes it easier to carry the bag when it's raining and I have to hold an umbrella as well.

The interior of the bag is made with 100% cotton and it has a small pocket inside to keep my valuables like keys and ID cards safe. The material is 100% PVC-coated cotton so it is also very easy to wipe clean if I spill anything on the bag, which I have done a few times. I spilt diet coke once and it was easy to wipe clean with a tissue.

I don't use this book bag all the time since I need a bigger bag if I have a lot of lectures and need to take several A4 files. However, this bag comes in very handy for a windy/rainy day and I also use this bag for shopping. I have had this bag for more than 6 months now and it still looks fine; I can't see any obvious wear and tear and the bag still holds the sturdy shape.

Overall, I am very please with this bag, even more so because I received this book bag as a present. At £ 18.00 per bag, the price tag is a bit steep so it might be worthwhile to look out for end of season sales.

                  Wonderful winter socks from Elle

Cold feet are the most annoying part of winter. Even if the weather gets a bit chilly, my extremeties such as my hands and feet get icy cold and it just feels uncomfortable to do anything like watching TV for a long time. I have several pairs of thick and cosy socks and they were getting worn out from me wearing them frequently. So, I decided to get more decent pairs of thick woolly socks. I chose these Elle thick woolly socks, mainly because Elle seems to be a popular brand and I got them at a slightly lower price than normal retail price tag.

I got my pairs of Elle thick and cosy bed socks from TK Maxx; it's one of my favourite shops because I can buy good quality products at a lower price there. I paid £ 5.99 for two pairs of these Elle bed socks from TK Maxx compared to the normal selling price of £ 7.00. I normally buy cheap socks so these seems a bit expensive for me, but the quality and functionality of these socks are worth the price.

The pairs I have purchased are lilac and pink in colour. The thickness of the socks is very impressive and they feel so soft. As soon as I put these socks on, they cocoon my feet like a heating blanket and warm my feet up quickly. The socks are made with 78% polyester, 20% polyamide and 2% elastane. The socks have a elastic band at the top to keep the rim in place.

I have had these pairs since the beginning of last winter and they are still soft as new, albeit the kint is getting a bit pressed and I can slightly feel my footprint since I wear these socks whenever my feet get cold (which is most of the time during winter). They are very durable considering the number of times I have worn them.

Also, there is another use for these socks for me. I mostly wear boots when I go out rather than heels, so I wear this thick sock as a cushion for my feet during winter night outs. This really helps me walk quite a long distance between pubs and still be able to feel my legs at the end of the night.

Overall, these Elle soft and cosy bed socks are perfect for chilly winter nights. I would recommend these to anyone who are susceptible to cold feet like me.

These plasters saved my summer fashion

At the beginning of this summer, I bought lovely heels and wedges to wear everyday. They are one of those 'comfortable' heels (well as comfortable as heels can be anyway). When I tried them out in the shoe shop, they feel really nice and doesn't hurt at all. So I decided to walk to town centre the next day in the wedges I bought; this was a disaster and by the time I got to the town centre after walking for 20 minutes, I have blisters on my toes and the back of my feet. I was in agony and I had to rush into Boots to buy emergency plasters so that I can at least walk to the bus stop to go home.

Luckily, during that time Boots was doing promotions on plasters and they were being sold for 3 for 2. I saw these cushioned plasters and thought they would be perfect to cushion my toes until I get home. I bought this cushioned pack, the clear plaster pack and the fabric pack for a little over £ 4.00. To be honest, at that time I would pay any money to make the pain go away from my toes.

This pharmaceutical cushioned pasters from Boots come in an assorted pack of 20, and each pack is sold for £ 2.05. This is not cheap but it is not expensive either considering the good quality of the plasters. Each pack has four big plasters (size 30 mm x 72 mm) and 16 medium sized plasters ( 19 mm x 72 mm). They are white in colour and the cushion is really soft and helps me walk to the bus stop in the dreaded wedges.

However, these cushioned plasters come in handy in more ways than one. When I got home, I had a good look at my wedges and I found the problem which is that the plastic band holding my toes in place. The plastic rubs against the skin of my toes and blister the area, so I decided to stick this cushioned plaster underneath the plastic band of the wedge to prevent the friction. Since this cushioned plaster has a smooth surface, it doesn't rub against my skin at all.

I have to say this is one of the few times where my quirky improvisation has come to fruitation. Since I had stuck the plaster underneath the plastic band of my wedges, I have been walking around in them throughout the summer without feeling the pain or blisters. These plasters are also waterproof and durable, and I can attest to this. I haven't had the need to change the plasters since I have first stuck them underneath the plastic band and the plasters are still in place.

All in all, I have managed to find more than one use for these Boots cushioned plasters. I am very pleased with the quality. Being able to walk in heels/wedges in minimal pain is a miracle for any fashion-conscious ladies and I have to say these plasters work wonders on my feet.

                      Disadvantages

                      My favourite type of tea

I used to drink coffee every morning but I wasn't a fan of the after taste that coffee leaves behind even after brushing my teeth. Once I went to a holiday and staying at this B & B by the countryside and they serve this tea bags and I decided to try this Assam tea. I was immediately hooked to that strong and fragrant taste. So, I decided to switch my coffee with tea in the morning, partly due to the fact that tea has lower calorie compared to coffee.

I went looking for Assam tea bags and there actually aren't many brands at my local Tesco. However, I saw this Twinings Assam tea box and I decided to try this out and I have been hooked ever since. Twinings advertise Assam as the 'Strong & Mighty' tasting tea and I have to agree with them. I paid about £ 2.50 or 50 tea bags in a box. This is certainly expensive if I compare it to other teas like Tetley and PG tips but I really like strong tea.

I almost always have a cup of this Assam tea every morning and it is also perfect with biscuits or cake in the tea time. The way I make tea is that I put one tea bag and a teaspoon-ful of sugar and pour hot water in the cup. I leave the tea to brew for a couple of minutes, depending on if I have the time or if I need to rush, and then I pour milk on top it. Personally, I prefer strong tea so I usually leave the tea bag in my big tea cup. Due to this, despite putting in a teaspoon-ful of sugar, it gives me a residual bitter taste that greatly complements any sweet snacks like biscuits or cookies.

Certainly this Twinings Assam tea is expensive compared to other brands but I personally would willing pay the extra for a deep and strong flavour this tea delivers. I just bought a bigger tea box with 100 tea bags for £ 3.00 from Tesco the other day, so I usually look out for promotions to balance my spendings.

Overall, I would recommend this Twining Assam tea to those who loves the strong taste of coffee and want to try out tea once in awhile. I have been having this Twining Assam tea for more than a year and I really enjoy the taste.

                        Disadvantages

A great basic nail polish remover from Boots

I love painting my nails. Obviously it mostly due to the fact that it makes my nails look nice and colourful, but it also keeps my nails from getting damaged as the nail paint acts as a protective layer. However, as anyone who have painted their nails would know that it looks really horrible when the nail paint starts to chip. So, it is also important to be able to remove the nail polish easily as well.

I have used a lot of nail polish removers, some are good and some are downright horrible (especially the ones from Poundland). Since I don't want to spend too much on nail polish remover, I went looking for something cheap. I found this Essential nail polish remover from Boots with its own brand, each bottle costs me £ 1.00 which is the same price as the one from Poundland. So, I decided to give this a go.

For £ 1.00, I get 250 ml bottle of nail polish remover liquid. This nail polish remover contains acetone so it will remove any product based in oil or plastic. The bottle is made with plastic and the cap is a screwed cap. The opening from which the remover liquid is dispensed is quite big, so I always have to make sure that the cotton wool or kitchen tissue towel (which works just as well) is covering the hole completely.

For a basic nail polish remover, this works really well. With lighter or pastel nail colours, I just need to wipe my nails a few times with a tissue soaked in remover liquid to remove the nail polish. The darker or brighter colours need a bit more nail polish remover liquid to get rid of any traces of the colour.

I frequently colour my nails and on average I paint and remove the colour at least once a week. I have this bottle for more than 4 months and I still have quite a lot left in there.

Overall, this is a bargain nail polish remover with acetone from Boots which works wonderfully for its purposes. I would recommend this to anyone. I believe Boots is also selling basic nail polish remover without acetone, so I might try it next time to see the difference.

A nice folding table from Argos

At home, we recently purchased a really nice and spacious BBQ rack/table. Since then, we've been having family and friends around when the weather was nice and have a BBQ together. We have a small garden table for two people but when we have guests over, there was not enough space for everyone to sit comfortably and enjoy BBQ together. So, we went to town to look for a cheap table to buy. There's enough sitting space for everyone since we have a bench and a swing in the garden, plus a few garden chairs and so we only need a table.

We found this folding camping table from Argos on sale for £ 7.99, it was originally £ 17.99. From my quick research, it seems that Argos has finished the sale period and this folding table has now gone back up to £ 17.99. Nevertheless, we had a really deal even considering that we had to buy one urgently since we have my aunt's family coming over to visit for a BBQ.

Despite being advertised for camping, we haven't really used it for camping since I am the only one who goes camping/festivals with my friends. However, it has so many other uses other than camping. The folding table is light weight considering it's structure, it only weighs 2 kg and when it's folded it has the dimensions of 7 (height) x 60 (length) x 40 (width) cm. The height of the table extends to 50 cm when it's unfolded. Personally it was the perfect size for what we needed as we only put freshly BBQ food on the table for everyone to share, and it was easy for kids to reach it too.

The table has a steel frame, which puts us at ease when we pile all the food on top of it. The table surface is spacious enough for our purpose, it would fit enough food for two average sized families. We usually put about 4 dinner plates with BBQ food on it, plus cups, drinks and other utensils and the table holds the weight. The product description also mentions that the table surface is heat resistant but we haven't had the chance to put anything hot enough to test that.

One other use it has is as a desert table for a small party. We had a small birthday party for my dad's 50th a few months ago, and this table serves as a lovely desert counter. We put a fancy table cloth on top of it put fruits, sweets and any other delicacies on it for all the guests to enjoy after the meal. It frees up space on the main dining table and since we prepared half of the sweets beforehand, we didn't have to rush. After the party, the table can be folded away and put in the storage.

Overall, this Argos folding table is multifunctional and it is a useful item to have in the storage in any family home. For a bargain purchase, keep an eye on it during sale seasons....

                        Advantages

                        Disadvantages

The bargain price is reflected in the quality

Primark is like a shopping haven for almost broke univeristy students like me. Primark has come to my rescue so many times when I'm in dire need of a cheap and new outfit for a quick night out or something like that. Obviously due to their bargain price, it wouldn't be surprising to find that the quality of Primark items isn't the same level as most High Street retailers.

One time I went shopping at Primark for winter necessities like socks and when I was queueing for the check out, I saw these cotton pads being sold at £ 1.00. I thought at £ 1.00 per twin pack, this can't go wrong. Each twin pack has 160 cotton cosmetic pads. Each individual pad has the diameter of 6-7 cm and is textured on both sides, which fits the purpose of those as cosmetic pads. Textured pads are easier to use to remove eye and face make-ups from my experience.

I usually buy cotton pads at a much higher price from Boots or other supermarkets like Tesco, and they usually cost me £ 1.80 or more for like 100 cotton pads. So, at £ 1.00 per twin pack of 160 cotton pads from Primark, I thought these are too good to be true and sadly that was the case with me.

I use these cotton pads to remove eye and face make-up as mentioned before. I soak whatever the skincare item (toner liquid, cleansing milk or eye make up remover) on this cotton pad and gently swipe it across my face to remove make-up. No matter how gently I swipe my face with this cotton pad, it scratches my skin. I occassionally have spots when it's near my time of month and if that's the case, I can't use these cotton pads because they hurt the swollen area around the spots. Also, the cotton pads are really thin and if I use toner liquid, which annoyingly is almost like water, the expensive watery toner just goes through to the other side and ends up soaking my fingers.

So, what's my verdict? I imagine that these cotton pads have a lot of use other than the removal of make-up. However, for my intended purpose of using these as cosmetic pads, these Primark cotton pads are very disappointing.

Overall, buy these Primark cotton pads if you are going to use them as general cotton pads to wipe things clean rather than as cosmetic pads. For cosmetic pads, I would rather stick with Boots or other retailers. Sure they are expensive, but at least I don't feel apprehensive everytime I wash my face.

                          A fun exercising equipment

Being a busy student, I usually gave up and frequently eat junk food, sweets and anything easy to keep me going when I'm stressed out and losing sleep or when the fridge is empty (which happens quite often). I always try my best eat fruits and vegetables at least twice a day to keep me healthy but sometimes that's not enough when I'm sitting down writing essays for pretty much the whole day. Therefore, doing some physical exercise helps me to clear my head and refresh my self. Like I've mentioned in my previous reviews, I used to have a gym membership which ended in me losing out a lot of money. So, I have been using home gym equipments ever since. This Everlast twist board is another of my home gym equipments I own to keep me healthy and fit.

I bought this everlast twist board for about £ 10.00 from eBay two years ago. The idea of the twist board to tone the muscles around the waist and stomach. The way to exercise is by stepping on the twist board, keep the whole body in place by keeping your head fixed in one direction and use the momentum provided by the twist board to swivel the bottom half of the body from side to side in a circular motion. I have size 4 and a half feet so it is not problem to stand on this twist board with both feet, however this board surface might come up a big small for those with feet sizes 8 or above.....

Personally, twist boards are one of my favourite ways to exercise. The bottom of the twist board is made is non-slip material but I always use it on the carpeted floor to provide maximum grip. The twist board surface has semi=circular heads and even though they are supposed to massage my feet, I cannot exercise without my trainers because they start to hurt after about 3 minutes standing on the twist board.

Exercising on the twist board can be repetitive and boring but it is never the case with me. I usually watch television or listen to music while exercising on this twist board. I work out on the twist board for 10 minutes and then switch to a different work out like lifting arm weights (4kg) and then come back to the twist board for another 5 or 10 minutes work out. The good thing about having home gym equipment is that I can work out around my university schedule.

Another good thing about this twist board is that it's flat and very easy to store away, this is very important for me since the flat we rent is quite small despite being relatively new. Maybe it's partly due to exercising using this twist board or maybe it's my semi-healthy diet, but luckily my jeans size hasn't gone up since I started university.

Overall, this Everlast twist board is a very cheap and brilliant way to keep myself fit. This is a great home gym equipment for busy people.

A Brita water filter for clean drinking water

A couple of years ago, I wasn't really bothered about drinking tap water. However, when I moved to the flat I shared with my friend, she brought a Brita water filter and I just ended up taking a glass of water all the time from it. At first I didn't notice the difference until one time we forgot to top up the water filter and I had to take a drink from the tap since I was so thirsty. I'm not sure if anyone has the experience of looking into a tap water in a bright sunny day, because I had and it was shocking... it's not even the smell of chemicals such as chlorine, but the amount of tiny particles floating in the tap water is just unbelievable and I was so disgusted that I waited 2 minutes before I took a drink from the filter jug.

This prompted me to buy a Brita water filter jug for use at home, as we had been drinking tap water ever since and it wasn't good enough in the long run. We bought our Brita water filter jug from TK Maxx at a cheaper price. The one we bought is from the Marella range and the filter compartment is orange. We paid about £ 13.00 when we bought it a couple of years ago. From my quick search on the internet, the Marella jugs can be about for around £ 12.00 on amazon and I've seen Brita water jugs on sale for half-price at Tesco.

Our Marella filter jug has the total capacity of 2.4 litres and the filtered water capacity of 1.4 litres but we usually fill it to about 1 litre capacity, and this gives up about 5 small glasses of water or so. It has the electric filter cartridge indicator as usual. On the product description it says the jug (minus the lid) is dishwasher safe but I usually wash it by hand since it's easier.

Due to its slim design, this filter jug can be stored in the fridge which is wonderful during hot summer days. Nothing is more refreshing than a cool glass of water when I'm feeling hot and clammy from sweat. My favourite thing about this design is that flip top included in the lid to make it easy to fill the water. It makeks life a lot easier when filling the jug with tap water.

Our Brita water jug uses MAXTRA cartridge, which is quite expensive. However, they can be bought at a lower price on amazon or with promotions from supermarkets. About 3 weeks ago, we bought a 12 cartridge pack from Tesco at half price of about £ 25.00. At home, we exchange the cartridge about every a month and a half or that would last us for awhile.

Overall, I would recommend Brita water filter jug, or any water filter jug, for healthy living in the long term. Tap water is alright for a quick drink every now and then but seeing the tiny particles in the tap water reflected back from the sunlight sure did open up my eyes. Also, using water filter helps to reduce limescales in kettles etc so it makes it easy to clean.
